They also appreciate its user-friendly design, long battery life, and scheduling function. However, some users have expressed concerns about the vacuum getting stuck, being a bit loud, and having a small bin that fills up quickly.

This vacuum will suck up everything and more than you would expect when you go to empty it out. Pet owners must have this in their homes as it will get hair from every corner of your home. Great for hardwood floors and tile. This unit does require you to keep your floors clear of shoes, toys, ect as it will affect its flight plan and learn from it, but overall great investment.

Sweeps the house every day. Does not always return to base, but not an issue for us. Picks up on both hard surface and carpet. We have pets and the floors are so much cleaner. Run it every day. Gets under beds and couches you would not normally vacuum daily. Will get stuck trying to get under areas, but not an issue for us. It will send message to phone if it returned to base or not. So good purchased another Roomba for son to have at his house. Love it!

Stick with a Roomba if you're in the market

We recently moved from a 2 story home with lots of carpet to a ranch with both carpet and tile. The living area in our home is completely ceramic tile so we thought we'd give a robot vacuum a try. We love Samsung appliances, so our first choice was a Samsung robot vacuum which we returned after a single use. It got stuck on and under every obstacle it encountered and couldn't find its way out of our bedroom. After we returned it we decided we probably wouldn't buy another until I found the Roomba 891 on sale for a great price. I read the reviews and decided to give it a shot. Battery life is fantastic, which is pretty amazing considering it has fairly powerful suction. Our house has nearly 2,500 sq. ft. of floor space and it can clean almost the entire house on a single charge. It does a decent job of picking up loose debris and navigates obstacles fairly well. It's cleaning pattern is odd and random, sometimes cleaning the same part of the floor over and over while neglecting other areas but it typically gets full coverage. Does well on short carpet and rugs and doesn't get bogged down. Watch your cords because it seems to sniff them out and tries to eat them. Will not climb onto high pile or shag rugs.

Roomba is scheduled to run every day. Nice to not have to remember to start each day. With roomba’s light sweeping daily, I can focus on deep cleaning weekends.

I have 2 Shih Tzu. They don't shed but I am sure they bring and track dirt inside the house. So, I use Roomba to help me clean during the week. Then I do my regular vacuuming on the weekend. This is my second Roomba and based on experience, it is best to have it plugged in somewhere in the middle of the house so it can clean the entire 1600 sq ft of my house and find it's charger when it is done. I have this programmed to run Mon-Fri at 7 am. It runs for about 2 hours before it returns home to charge. At that time, the trash bin is just about full of super fine and some fuzzy like lint/dirt. I empty the bin every day that it got used so it's ready for the next use. I also clean the air filter at the same time. Then once a month, I clean the wheels and the rollers - where I will find a lot of my hair. I use the iPhone app so when it is done cleaning, I am notified. It also tells me if it got stuck or if it ran into other issues. I made my floor Roomba friendly. I remove everything that could make it stuck or jamned - like bathroom mats, clothes on the floor, etc. I make sure no doggie toys that could block or interfere with Roomba while cleaning. So, my issues are minimal. I love it that it can go underneath the bed and certain furniture. I also vacuum every weekend with my Dyson. My Roomba is for in between cleaning only. You should never expect Roomba to replace your regular vacuum. That is not the purpose for it, just saying. Because I vacuum pretty much 5 days with Roomba and Dyson on the weekend, I hardly see any dust on my counters or furniture.

Chose this model over the 690 because I have long hair and I also have a lab...lots of loose hairs on the ground. After Roomba is finished it's easy to clean. The hairs get wrapped up on the sides but I just pop off the "rollers" and it comes out with no problem. It's able to run it's full course without me having to continuously clean it.

The Roomba is easy to set up and schedule. It's does excellent and we have seen a great improvement in removing dust and dirt from our home. Wish we would have purchased long ago. Will purchase another for our new 2 story home.

Pros 1. Sucks dirt very good for the size like a smal vacuum clean 2. Does not get tangled with left around cables 3. Works well even on carpet Cons 1. Floor Coverage is random and fuzzy. May leave smal spots untouched 2. Struggles hard to find charging base 3. Works only in one space/room. Need to physically carry to another room if needed. Overall it cleans the space on daily basis in an impressive Way. If you are clean freak this will be a nice addition

I bought it when it was on sale. Compared to 890, it has no extra filter and a virtual wall. I have 690, and this one works in a little bit smarter way. While 690 many times go under the sofa in the living room and gets stuck, this one gets out easily. Still it sometimes get stuck. This one also has a better brush/roller at the bottom so cat hairs don't make a mess around the brush. It works with Alexa. It works with Alexa.

Such a great addition. This roomba is used on carpet and hard wood floors, daily. It is remarkable how much dust is picked up even when the house looks spotless. Rarely does it run into trouble. Drawbacks: fills up quickly and regularly needs emptying. Is now starting to mark some of the skirting boards (after a year), when hitting them.

Let me say I've owned this for a year now. I was tired of vacuuming and to top it off my dogs and cats had got fleas. With a new puppy possibly coming into our home in the next couple months. Vacuuming had to be done at least once a day if not more. It was my lifesaver. No more asking or arguing with my kids and significant other on whose turn it was to vacuum. My boyfriend thought it was an incredible waste of money. Until I brought it home and set it up. It has been one of the best 500 dollars I have ever spent. He spent 10 mins the first day following it around and marveling at its ability to get in and out of small spaces. I now keep the area under the bed cleaned out and its dust free under there. The fleas are long gone and the 2 puppies we ended up getting never got them. I have 3 dogs and 3 cats and no pet hair anywhere. We ran it every day for months when we first got it. Now I run it a couple days a week. I got puppies and gates everywhere so I can no longer use the schedule part. I wouldn't want a poop catastrophe. Lol. However. When i get home from work. I clean out the trap and set it in the room that needs it the most and it works its magic. It picks up kitty litter really well. Chewed up sticks get stuck in it and it turns itself off. I've bought one rebuilt kit so far. ( beater bars and new filter) they lasted a long time.

This this will suck up socks and cables. The part where it lets me down is the coverage and the learning. Not sure how much area it touches, and it does fill up quickly. I would get one that has the base where it can empty itself.

does a nice job, for the price it would have been nice to have another 'fence' to block the unit from going into places where you dont want especially on open concept areas. picks up alot and can be controlled and scheduled from phone.

Poor Navigation, exchanged for Roomba 960

I have a small apartment and while I originally intended on buying a Roomba 960, I decided to try the less expensive 890 because I don't have a large house and I didn't think the camera-based navigation would be a big deal for me. On the first run of the 890, I knew I was wrong. After 20 minutes of traveling the same places over and over again, the robot found a corner and just kept spinning around, trying to figure out where to go next. It was not obstructed and had plenty of space to go somewhere else in several directions, but it just kept spinning for a good 5 minutes before I shut it off in frustration. I ended up exchanging it for the Roomba 960. This is not a bad robot vacuum (setup was very easy), but it didn't work out for me. If possible, buy the 960 - the enhanced navigation is worth it.

I have a dog and I love her but don't love all the dog hair everywhere, love being able to schedule the days and time that I want to run it. It leaves the carpet really clean and it picks everything up. Even my mom wants one. The only bad thing is that sometimes it gets stuck under the bed frame but nothing seriously bad.
