If you or anyone you know would like to revisit what it was like to own a portable CD-Walkman well here’s your chance. These Jaybird Run are so horrific at maintaining signal. I’ve updated the firmware with no change as well. I also went from a iPhone 7+ to a iPhone Max so it isn’t the phone. Oh, and you’ll be lucky if they stay on your ears, since the buds tend to slowly slight out while you’re running.

      Hi Ortiz,

We are sorry to hear that you're experiencing connectivity issues with your Jaybird Run buds and we'll be glad to help you out! Just send us an email at [email protected] and we will get you taken care of.

Here are the instructions to factory reset your right earbud:

-Turn off your right earbud by pressing the right multifunction button for 3 seconds.
-With your right earbud off, press and hold the right multifunction button for 6 seconds until the LED flashes green.
-Double press the right multifunction button. The LED will flash orange and the earbud will turn off. Your earbud has now been reset.
-When you hard reset your earbuds, you will lose any saved presets and any saved devices on the paired list. You’ll need to forget Jaybird RUN in your phone's Bluetooth device list, repair your earbuds to your Bluetooth device, See How do I pair my Jaybird RUN earbuds? and reselect your favorite preset from the Jaybird app.

As for fit, please try the following:

      1. Test all combinations of eartips and wings, including different sizes in each ear
      2. You may view the instructional video on this link:

      http://www.jaybirdsport.com/support/

Tip: The ear tips and fins do not have to match, you can use one size on one ear and a different size on the other.

I would love to give 5 stars but for some issuing I have experienced with I gave 4. Firstly these earbuds are high quality and has an app on smartphone (IOS, Android) where you can customize single press function on both sides like, skip, pause and receive and end calls.etc. It comes with native charging case in which you charge and save your buds provided with a 3 nice green LEDs indication charging level for the case as well as the buds. One issue is connection drops and cuts out even with placing phone in my palm!! Flawless fit but terrible connection , but I hope company can update the firmware to address this issue other than than its perfectly loved by me.

The Jaybird Run is a unique set of earbuds that seriously surprised me when using. I'm going to be speaking from my perspective of owning these. I used about 4 days straight running routes in the morning. I did hear that these earbuds had a lot of issues when connecting but I have literary experienced no technical issues such as disconnection. It could be a new and improved model Jaybird decided to ship out (?), but I have had NO issues with Bluetooth connectivity. Now that that is out of the way I want to talk about these awesome truly wireless earbuds. The design is nice and small. They are lightweight in the ear and holds inside the ear while running or jogging. these earbuds are very secure when placed so I'm not concerned about them falling out at all. I appreciated the way they are easy to put in a pocket and go. While yes it does feel a little "plasticky" that doesn't distract from the overall build of the earbuds, they seem like they are made to last. the earbuds itself are black and doesn't draw any attention too much aside from the jaybird logo which shines. Connecting them to a smartphone is as easy as you expect just connect and go, one of the coolest things with this earbuds is that they come with a charging case (AKA Apple earpod-like) and it works fine. Placing the earbuds into the case will charge up the headphones with the case small enough to throw into a pocket. its awesome in my opinion and want more OEMs to do this. They come with many ear tips to fit so you can find the correct size for yourself. Sound wise they sound incredible to say the lease, I was shocked at the amount of clarity and bass deep within the ear. mids and highs feel like they are good enough for an hour run but you can set it to your liking with the app. I really had no expectations with earbuds because I always found them lacking, but the Jaybird run changed that. You can download the app itself to make more bass/treble customizations to your jaybird's the app is smooth so good on Jaybird for this one. The wireless earbuds are sweatproof and water-resistant and in my test, they survived a light rain here in Chicago near the lakefront. Battery life is shocking good because it feels like they lasted longer than 4 hours. I was on a phone call (which also works well with) for about 5 hours on lower volumes. you can get 8 hours on the go with the charging case and 5 mins of charge give you 1 hour of playback so you can quickly charge before a run. There is also a button on each earbud so you can Pause, Play, Skip Track, and hold for voice assistant on Siri or Google Assistant. One of my dislikes is actually pressing the button on the ear as it pushes the earbuds deeper, I guess this can't be helped since mostly every true wireless earbuds have these issues. its just uncomfortable all around and the price you have to pay, My recommendation is to just use your phone or music player to change tracks. There isn't much to say about these earbuds, I love them. they sound premium with a good amount of bass all through it. Jaybird's work extremely well on the go. I saw some of the other reviews talk about disconnection issues but I had none on my 4 day run with these. I even test out the theory of the headphones being far away from the phone into another room but they didn't disconnect. So I'm not sure what is going on with others. I would still recommend these to people and especially to runners. It hits every checkbox you would want in truly wireless headphones while not being overly featured or overpriced. 4 out of 5 stars, I know Jaybird can make improvements to these in future models, but as of right now I love them.

After owning two other Jaybird headphones (X and Freedom), I was excited to use a truly wireless listening experience for workouts. All of the Bluetooth headphones I own use a wire to connect the left and right earpiece, and thus have a problem with me being able to hear the cord rustle behind my head or neck during exercising. Having two separate buds, minus the wire, creates a more comfortable listening experience, just as long as the signal is not interfered with. Setup The setup was easy. I charged the case with the headphone inside, fitted them to my ears, and connected to Jaybird RUN. I downloaded the Jaybird MySound app so I could customize the equalizer. Just make sure to save your settings, or they will revert back to “flat.” It is nice to know the saved equalizer setting is stored in the headphones, so if you connect to a different device, the sound settings are kept the same. Fit I was blown away by how snug the fit inside my ear was, without them sticking out or causing any discomfort. These are the best-looking truly wireless Bluetooth headphones. Even the Bose SoundSport Free seems bulky compared to these (see picture comparing the two). Sound I was expecting these to compete with the Bose SoundSport Free in terms of sound, but unfortunately they were not as good. Even though I used the equalizer to try to make them sound better, I was unable to obtain the rich sound I received from Bose. Connectivity I did have some trouble keeping a solid connection when I was out in public, but at home I did not experience any problems. If you keep your phone close by, you should not have any connectivity issues. Also I should mention the earphones power down if not used after 30 minutes, which interrupts the Bluetooth connection. Just to compare, the Bose SoundSport Free did not have any issues with connectivity and never powered down. Pros Noise isolating Comfortable fit/Low profile Equalizer in App Cons Sounds a little hollow Connectivity Conclusion Jaybird has done a fantastic job at making a truly wireless Bluetooth headphone look great, but the sound isn’t quite as amazing. I would recommend these to someone who likes a clean look without earpieces protruding from their ears, does not want to spend over $200, and doesn’t mind less-than-full sound. I look forward to seeing what Jaybird has in store for the future.

I wanted to like these. I have an older pair of "wireless" sport headphones with the buds connected by a wire. The wire on that old pair drives me crazy during workouts as it rubs up against the back of my neck. So I was excited for the Jaybird Run as my first pair of truly wireless headphones. Sadly, they fall short in way too many areas to continue using them as my daily workout headphones. PROS: - Small and lightweight. If you can find the right combination of ear tips and fins, you'll hardly notice these in your ear. Unlike some other "truly wireless" headphones, these buds don't protrude out very far from your ears and look rather sleek. - Compact, portable case doubles as a charger. It's small enough to fit in a pocket and the headphones connect to your phone as soon as you remove them from the case. My only gripe with the case is that it doesn't open past 90 degrees, which makes getting the headphones in and out more challenging than it should be. - I like the fact that these are water and sweat-resistant, so I can wear them outside without any worry of rain. - Good battery life. Jaybird's claims of 4 hours per charge seem accurate, and that's more than enough for one or two workouts. The charging case will give you another 8 hours of use. CONS: - Uncomfortable for my ears. I've tried every combination of ear tips and fins (there are four options for each), but none feel comfortable in my ears for a long period of time. The headphones always feel secure in my ears and I'm not worried about them falling out. But after an hour of wearing them, regardless of what ear tip/fin I'm using, my ears star to hurt right where the fins latch into my outer ear. This will obviously vary from person to person, so I would highly recommend trying these on before buying to make sure you can find a comfortable fit. - Connectivity issues. Like almost every review has mentioned, I've had the left earbud cut out multiple times. It fixes itself rather quickly, but it's incredibly annoying. Jaybird recommends that you keep your phone in your right pocket or strapped to your right arm while running/exercising. Sorry, but for me, that defeats the purpose of truly wireless headphones. Also, it took multiple attempts to finally get the Jaybird app to recognize the headphones. After watching the app say "Scanning..." for almost 45 minutes, the headphones were finally recognized. - Mediocre sound quality. The Jaybird app calls the default audio mode "Flat" -- and that is how these headphones sound regardless of what settings you tweak within the app. They sound hollow and tinny. If the ear tips aren't perfectly sealed in your ears, bass is minimal to non-existent. At louder volumes, you can clearly hear distortion in the music. - The control buttons on each ear bud are difficult to press and offer limited functionality. You have to press very firmly on the buttons to get them to click, which causes pain to my ears. Also, there's no way to adjust the volume using the buttons: Jaybird expects you to use your phone to control the volume. Also, you can skip forward one track by double-pressing the button on the right ear bud, but there's no way to go back one track. So if you like to have control over your volume or music tracks, you'll need to keep your phone close by. OVERALL: Unfortunately, there are too many limitations and issues with the Jaybird Runs to call them "truly wireless" headphones. You need to keep your phone strapped to your arm to avoid connection issues and to adjust the volume. For me, they become uncomfortable halfway through my workout, and they hurt even more when you try to press one of the control buttons. The sound quality is not up to par compared to competing brands. Maybe some of these issues can be addressed via firmware updates, but in the meantime, I'll be looking at other headphone options.

Thank you very much for your review and feedback on the Jaybird RUN. We were stoked to hear your pros but let us help evaluate these cons.

We released a firmware update to improve connection. Just head to jaybirdsport.com/update and follow the instructions. For sound quality please make sure to download the Jaybird app this will allow you to customize the sound and it does help to switch the button controls in the app, this allows you to raise volume limit on the buds themselves. Sound could be effective by the fitment as well and to help get a comfortable fit I recommend some foam ear tips. Please contact
[email protected] and we will get you set up. We can also help with any further questions you may have. jaybird

This pair of wireless headphones are my first. With that being said, I am happily surprised with their features but am not too impressed with their sound quality. Having no wires is amazing. These headphones deliver on comfort, and even though they are tricky at first to get to "stick" in your ears (rotate counter clock wise for right, clock wise for left) they still stay in place regardless of how much my head was moving. The companion app that can be downloaded to monitor and alter sound profiles and change the functionality of each headphone's side button is pretty beneficial as well. They also come in a small charging dock that doubles as a carrying case that lights up to display if the headphones are charged. In the box, I was provided with multiple ear phone sizes and outer ear fittings, a carrying purse and a charging cable. One area that i with would have delivered higher would be the sound that pumps out of these headphones. There is little to no base, regardless of which sound profile i set to my headphones (driven via the app). Although I was not expecting super strong base, these simply fell short. Overall, I'd recommend these headphones due to the fact that the convenience factors (companion app, wireless, sound profile adjustability) of these outweigh the lack of sound quality.

For a year and a half, I have been using the Sol Republic Amps Air during work... I love the compact and comfortable design without the wires... I always been a fan of the Jaybird brand, so when they dropped the RUN True Wireless buds, you know I had to cop it. For me, comparing the fitment of the Run to the Amps Air, the Jaybirds seems to feel heavier but sits very comfortably in the ear. It has this sucked into feel when you're applying them in. Slightly bigger but there's one key feature that I do like about the Jaybirds, one touch Siri button. It makes things alot easier when you're in a active environment. I haven't had any issues with these buds dropping out of the ears. Sound quality is good (I prefer the Sol Republic Amps Air sound quality), but there's an app where you can change the EQ to your liking. Now, I have noticed what others have been mentioning about the connection issues... there are random times where the Jaybirds would auto connect without you noticing till you realize that you don't hear anything. Maybe it's the way they sit in the charging case. The Amps had this very issue too before I had it exchanged. All in all, this is a solid first try at truly wireless ear buds for the wireless future! :D

I have had my share of headphones, from $5 generics to Bose and my favorite pair before these were a pair of wireless Jaybird headphones almost identical to these, just connected to each other by a small wire. I loved them but do a lot of physical work in the yard or garage and the wire would often get caught on my shirt or a piece of equipment. When I saw these, I had to have them. They fit comfortably and dont fall out, they sound great, but the features are even better. You can customize and control sound using the Jaybird app and even find where the last place you were connected to them with your device in case you misplace them. The charging case is very convenient and allow multiple charges of your headphones with one full charge of the case. Now there are only 2 reasons I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 stars. 1)While you can pause, play, and skip by pushing the earbud, there is no volume control besides from the device you are using. 2)When you set them down for a while outside the case and they turn off to save battery, I have had some difficulty connecting them both back up without putting them in the case, closing it, and then opening it and taking them back out (this auto powers them back on and connects them again). This might just be user error and not being familiar with them.

I have numerous bluetooth headphones, over ear and in ear. Decided to get these as my first truly wireless since this is the trend I see. Looked at the Soul ST-XS, the Bose SoundSports, JBL's and chose these due to the specs and that 5 minute fast charge feature. I skipped Samsung and Bragi's due to pricing and it didn't seem worth it. The sound is good quality, clear, loud, and the companion app is great for custom equalization. You can significantly up your bass if you like, I need a little thump for my workouts and runs. I found that they stay in ear pretty well through weight lifting routines, and running. I am addicted to putting comply tips on any in ear headphone, but didn't need to with these as the fit out of the box with the medium fins were perfect. My problem and the reason I am going to return them is the Bluetooth connectivity. The left one dropped out a mile and a half into my run, which is no no and can really throw off a workout. I had the phone on my sleeve, less than two feet away as recommended (Which seems pretty lame), but it still went out, and cut back on for a second intermittently. I can see this as a being the problem with this technology, and will stick to my beats or try the Jaybird X3's for running and use over the ear for weight training days. 180 for a product that isn't fully functional all the time is problematic for me, so I have to return. May try another pair to make sure it was just Jaybird's version of headphones, but for me, the connectivity is a deal breaker. 180 wouldn't be that bad if they worked through a complete workout.

I got the Jaybird Run to use as a backup pair since I'm always forgetting to take my Apple Airpods to work with me or I leave them at work and forget to take them home. Using the Jaybird app allows me to customize the sound to my liking for any particular type of music I am listening to. The earbuds come with 4 different sizes of ear tips and fins to keep the buds securely in my ears. The charging case is a little large to carry in my pocket but connects to my computer using the included Micro-USB cable and charges the ear buds pretty quickly. My only complaint about the unit is I can't crank the volume up quite as loud as I would like. That's not a problem if I'm just sitting or walking but I usually like to listen to something while mowing the lawn or using my snowblower and it just doesn't go loud enough for my taste. Other than that I am enjoying them very much.

Sound quality is great, they fit really well. The only down side is they do something strange every now and then when you move your head in a different position. I don’t know if it’s a noise cancelation feature, or a Bluetooth issue. But it’s rare that they do it. When I go to the gym and run out side they work fine. It’s usually when I’m doing lawn work that I have the issue. Still a great product. They charge back up to 100% with in just a short amount of time. Love Jay Bird. I have been a long time consumer of their products.

Tried a couple of different types but having them stay in my ears while riding a bike was the most important feature - the Jaybirds were the only ones that stayed put. The sound is good and I like the ability to adjust the mix on the app. the only issue I have is connectivity, they will "skip" a bit depending on which pocket I have them in. That is the only reason I didn't give them 5 stars.

I'll jump right in and say that Jaybird is on my radar for audio stuff now! In the past I've sort of just browsed by them at the store but these earbuds are no joke. At the gym I have this thing where I need to turn the sound up loud enough to drown out my breathing. I also don't want to burst an eardrum so it is hard to find a happy medium. The JayBird Runs have an application where you can make distinct alterations to the bass, treble and different types of music that you are listening to. Even BETTER, I played with the application and I can listen to music tailored to the way my favorite athlete listens to their music on their JayBird headphones. I'd say that is show stopping since I have never seen this type of special feature with headphones of any sort. The battery life is great and the darn charging case is cute as a button but also very cool that it is going to compliment my gym equipment and if I am running out of battery I just need to toss them in the case and for every five minutes they charge they boast quite a bit of battery life back in them. I'm glad they provided different ear tips for a true and tailored fit but moreover, I love that they are minimalistic in the sense that they sit in my ear and don't call attention to my ears. They are sleek and skipping my tunes is great. Overall i'm super excited to get back to the gym because of these guys and i'll tell you I put them through a test and listened to Fleetwood Mac's "The Chain Live" and I heard sounds that even other headphones I have didn't catch. My Avicci tracks sound great and Elvis did well during my workout playlist. I'd say these are the best gift for the guy or gal in your life for any occasion and I might need another pair just because I want someone else to feel like me at the gym!

Fits in my ears great, reasonably comfortable. Sound is very good. These seal well. Some running ear buds you can hear the wind whip by. Not these - so be careful when you run. My running app doesn't come thru the ear buds very well - partial updates as the ear buds lag and only part of the message comes thru. Not a big problem for me. I just look at my watch for pace and distance. The pluses are the sound and I can wear a stocking cap as the ear buds are in the ears and not stick a half an inch out like some others. no issue lasting fours hours - the longest I have used them continuously and the case will charge them if your not able to plug in. For the price I think they are well worth it.

I have purchased almost every Jaybird wireless headphones because of they fit so incredibly well in my ears and the sound is wonderful. I was really excited to see these wireless buds. I immediately purchased these instead of the other ones, especially the Apple AirPods, because I thought these would fit securely. The fit was great. Takes some time to get it right. Once the fit is perfect, it usually creates almost a vacuum in my ears and it isolated the sound wonderfully. Creates deep base and great highs. My biggest concern with the bids like everyone else mentioned was the Bluetooth connectivity. The left bud would stutter through my workout very annoying! But after I updated the buds to 1.10 the buds work perfectly! The buds do not stick out as much as the other ones such as the Bose overall I Albert satisfied.

A true wireless in the ear headset, something the future of audio on the go should already have. The big dilemma is if it can really live up to its promises. I won't waste time with specs, im going to cut to the chase and help decide if this is the right fit or buy for you. First off lets talk about what your going to receive and how well everything works together. Out of the box your going to receive your two ear buds, charging pod (which also serves as a carrying case), micro usb cable, variety of different ear tips and ear fins. Paring is done quickly and easily. As soon as the earbuds are pulled out of the pod they will try to pair right away with your device given that your bluetooth is turned on. Lets talk about first audio impressions. Right off the bat i was very disappointed with sound quality and audio level. This is when i learned just how critical ear set up really is for this ear piece. The different ear tips are going to affect just how well the sound quality comes through. Too loose of a fitting and your sound quality is going to be drowned out by outside noise. Too tight and your going to have a very uncomfortable time while listening to your music. A nice feature was the fact that they also provided different size ear fins. The ear fins are what allow the earbuds to hook on to on your outer ear and prevent them from falling out during extreme exercise. If you find that your earbuds seem loose then most likely your ear fin set up is not right. Once i got my set up for my ears dialed in i noticed the sound quality improved greatly, however it was still lacking. The volume wasn't very high and my mids and lows sounded sub-par. I struggled to hear my vocals clearly and my bass was almost completely obsolete. Luckily like most decent audio manufactures out there Jaybird provides an app service for both android and iOS which i'm going to say is definitely a must. Linking the two together was very simple and once the download of the app was complete it took maybe a minute at most to link my earbuds. The app is where you can get the Jaybird Run to shine. Through the app you are able to set up different functions for your earbuds. Each earbud has a button which serves for a different use depending on how you set them up. For example, my volume was lacking so i chose to set up my ear buds so that the left earbud button would lower the volume and the right ear button would raise the volume. This by the way is the only way you can raise your ear bud volume aside for using your phones volume button. Now after you set your volume control you can then move your settings back to default. Under these controls your left earbud button if pressed once will bring up google assistant or siri and your right ear bud if pressed once will pause/ play your music and also pick up calls. You can also skip tracks by pressing the right earbud button twice. The Jaybird app also provides you with an equalizer with which you are able to customize your low, mid, and high range on five different points with a range of 20 Hz to 20 KHz. If your not very skilled in that area there is no need to worry. Jaybird provides you with eight pre set equalizer settings, and if those are not to your liking you can download many many more for free. Once i played with the equalizer and got my range dialed in my sound quality had improved to almost perfection. I could hear my vocals clearly all my mids and highs were perfect. Even my bass sounded great, i could almost feel the drums hitting. The sound quality was great and the fitting of the ear buds was perfect. When i took these to the gym the outside noises were just about completely gone and my earbuds never once felt like they were going to fall out. There is alot more the app can do but those were the key areas i wanted to touch on. Battery life is pretty decent, Jaybird claims four hours and i got about three and a half. One feature that i actually really liked was the way the headphones charge. The earphone pod serves as a case and charging dock. Simply plug in your micro usb cable to the pod and it will light up green and turn solid when it is finished charging the pod. When its time to to put away your earbuds in the pod the minute you close the case the earbuds will automatically power down and begin charging. So how do you know that you placed the earbuds in properly? Easy, when you close the pod a center LED light will light up letting you know the charge level of the pod and two separate lights will light up, one on the left side and one on the right side. If you did not placed your earbuds in properly when you go to close the case that LED light will not be lit up. For example lets say you placed the right ear bud in properly but not the left earbud. When you close the case the LED on the right side will be lit up and the LED on the left side will remain dark letting you know something is not right (refer to picture for example). Charging is done very quickly and a 50% charge can be brought back to 100 all with a matter of 15 minutes. So why the three star review then? There are alot of inconsistency with the sound quality and there was constant dropping or loss of signal from the right earbud. Let me talk about some of the faults. I noticed on the first day after i got the sound dialed in it sounded beautiful. My volume was very loud and my sound quality was so crisp and clean. The next day i put my earbuds in and i noticed something had changed. My volume wasn't as loud and the sound quality had diminished very slightly. The same track that was hitting the bass very hard was now struggling to push it through. I thought maybe my settings had reset but when i checked them everything was fine. I reset my earbuds, my bluetooth and even my equalizer and still the sound quality was the same. It wasn't horrible but i am very critical of my music and it was something i noticed. On the third day i noticed my sound quality had come back but now my volume wasn't even that loud. I had my phones volume turned all the way up plus my jaybird volume turned all the way up and i still felt i needed more volume. I'm not exactly sure if this is an issue with the firmware, drivers, or bluetooth but it was something i noticed. Also another key note to keep in mind is that the bluetooth is easily interrupted. When i game or do paperwork on my computer i like to listen to music while i work. In my office i have my wireless router, wireless printer and wireless keyboard. I hate wires and have never really had an issue with them interrupting each other. While working in my office and listening to music on my Jaybirds i noticed the left earbud would keep cutting out. It would cut out for about three seconds then come back on. It would do this about every minute or so and would not stop. I figured it must of been all my wireless adapters cause the minute i left the office it seemed to correct itself. This is kind of disappointing due to the fact that all my headphones are wireless and have never had this issue. Also another issue i have with these earbuds is having to worry about losing them. Well the app provides an option to find them if you lose them. Sounds good right? Well not exactly, see i thought that when you pressed the button to find your earbuds it would ping them with an audible sound to where all you would have to do is follow the sound till you find them. This is not the case however. When you hit your button to find them all it simply does is give you the last known location via google maps of when you used it last. So lets say you think you lost them at the gym, it will pin that location for you however its a vague location and you still have to check the parking lot, the whole gym, etc. Also lets say someone steals them and you think your gonna catch them the minute they turn on your ear pieces. Well your wrong because even if they do turn on your headphones it will not give you their location unless they activate their phones GPS, so all it will do is give you your last known location of when you used your headphones last if you had your GPS activated only. Heres my final thoughts. The Jaybird is a decent true wireless headset that should appease most average people. Yes the sound quality is decent and yes you can run, lift weights and cycle with them on and not worry about them falling out. For me however its right around that price range that has me on the fence about rather or not its a good buy. For me this just doesn't fit the bill, i would rather spend more money and have a solid set that can consistently give me the sound quality i want with few to almost no bluetooth drops. If your an avid music lover who loves working out and is very critical of their headsets like i am then this is not the buy for you. If your the type of person is wants something different and is looking for a decent sounding true wireless earbud then this should be right up your alley. Really this is going to come down to personal preference and just what exactly your looking for in a solid gym style workout piece. For me i'd rather stick with what i have and wait till they improve there product some more. Pros: -Lightning fast charge times -Charging pod that serves as a case also -Multiple ear tip and fins -User friendly app Cons: -Inconsistent sound quality -Bluetooth drop outs -Short battery life

Wireless Headphones for the Adventure Seeker

Ask anyone at my house; I'm the worst when it comes to headphones. My cord is continuously tangled. I fail to charge the wireless. My ears are sensitive, so I'm too picky when it comes to comfort. Still. I find headphones a necessity. They are my motivator at the gym. They keep me focused at work. They allow me to be in my own world when the world around me seems chaotic. Jaybird's reputation for creating earbuds that are comfortable without compromising sound quality is how I ended up here. Jabra's Jaybird Run True Wireless headphones have a few extras that put them over the top. Wireless, sweatproof earphones that fit comfortably, securely and offer good sound quality. These are all important features to me. They are what makes me keep sticking the bud in my ear and listening to my jam. They offer an 8-hours of streaming audio per charge and up to 4 hours battery life with an on-the-go charge. You get two extra charges from the included charging case (a 5-minute charge gives you an hour of battery life). Perfect for me, on-the-go, and for those moments you just need a little oomph. A companion app lets you adjust sound settings. Customize those button settings, as well as the sound of the headphones (you can adjust bass, treble and midrange settings or go with the balanced default setting). The snug fit is comfortable. They seal out the sounds around you. They live up to the noise-isolating earphones. Each sweatproof bud has a single button that controls the pause, play and skip tracks, answer and end calls, and access Siri or Google's Voice assistant. You can use the right one as a single unit only. Not the left. The right earbud also is the one that calls come through on. Bluetooth 4.1 interface enables simple wireless pairing with your Bluetooth-enabled device from up to 33 feet away. Supports hands-free, headset, A2DP, AVCRP, SPP profiles. They come with a portable charging case. The sweat-resistant, dirtproof headphones mean you can use them for whatever workout purpose you want. The Jaybird Run True Wireless Headphones offers a secure in-ear design for full, uninterrupted audio. 6mm drivers deliver great, powerful sound and an in-line microphone lets you enjoy hands-free calls.

I bought these because the Jaybird 3X stopped working so I figure it was time to try “true wireless” First they fit pretty good you hardly feel them, but I had to buy the “Comply” memory foam type tips and this helped a lot with the sound and fit. The connection to the app is spotty even with firmware update (can’t connect to iPhone only iPad)

I bought these banking on a software update to address some connectivity concerns brought up by other reviewers. For the most part, they connect with each other and an iPhone very well. I have not had many issues between the two since switching off Android. On the good side, the sound is really good. They fit very securely in my ears and really bring the boom. The app to control the sound is really cool. Lots of options and it really works out nicely. They work really well for running and working out (my primary uses) along with general listening. Since these are my main uses, I am satisfied. The negative: Sound for phone calls only comes through the right earbud. Apparently this is by design, but I am hopeful a software update in the future can change this. We will see. The only other negative I see is that video has an audio delay. It is very noticeable and makes them unusable for watching YouTube etc. I'm not optimistic that this will be updated, but who knows. Overall, I recommend these for working out and listening to audio. They are not good for video (due to delay) and you will only get single channel audio for phone calls.

Unboxing and first set up: The packaging these come in are nice and simple to get too. Setting these up is easy, just open the pill shaped case and it starts searching for your phone. I am going to be comparing these headphones to the Apple AirPods since they are similar and one of the most popular wireless headphones out there. The sound quality on the jaybird headphones is much better than the AirPods but the fitment inside of your ears will all differ. For me I couldn’t find a comfortable ear bud and wing combo, but I managed to get it to work good enough. Like I said the sound quality is much better on the jaybirds since you can use the app to play with the EQ and the base is more present. The buttons on these headphones is a pain to press since it’s so hard to do so... in order to press the button on the side is the headphones you have to press pretty hard that the headphone gets pressed even more into your ear which hurts. These headphones are not good for watching videos because the audio for the video is a bit laggy compared to the video. What I’m trying to say is the lip movement does not match the audio coming out of these headphones, it is out of sync and this happened on all apps YouTube, Netflix, hulu. The JayBird app is really helpful in customizing the EQ and it’s easy to use. It’s nice that they include some presets for bass heavy listeners and R&B. Overall I’m not satisfied with these wireless headphones. The Bluetooth is laggy and isn’t in sync with the phone audio. The fitment is a pain to figure out and they never really felt safe in my ears which is scary since they are for running. The only thing I really liked about these is the audio quality. Pros: Audio is better then AirPods Has more bass Jaybird app Pairing to your phone is easy Cons: Fitment Fallout of your ear easily Out of sync audio Buttons on sides are to hard to press without hurting your ears Price (AirPods are cheaper)

      Hey BigPaco213,

Thank you so much for the review it is greatly appreciated!
We are super pumped you enjoy the sound of your RUNS and the functionality of the app however it puts a damper on it with the fitment concerns in your review. A few recommendations to help improve fitment (as everyones ears are different) make sure to try all the different ear tips and fins as sometimes it can take a few days to adjust and for the ear fins to break in.
Another recommendation is to look into some foam eartips as they squish down and will expand in your ear and could provide a more comfortable fit. If interested in trying these out please contact us Jaybirdsport.com/support and we will get you set up. As for the button pressing, we have actually determined that if you click towards the bottom of the oval button it will click and respond much easier in turn not putting as much pressure on the ear. Last but not least, there will be a little delay in audio playback when watching videos as this was done on purpose to ensure a stable connection while running. The slight delay allows the connection to stay more stable. Please reach out with any further concerns so we can help you get the best experience with RUN as possible.
