    Does what it needs to

This is a good alternative for those that don't want to spend close to $200 on a smart keyboard from Apple. It connects to the built-in smart connector to the iPad and draws power to illuminate the back-light (which you can adjust brightness). The keyboard tends to slip off the smart connector from time to time, which stops the keyboard from working for a few seconds before it connects. On it's own, the keyboard/case is light and thin...but after adding it to the iPad (iPad Pro 1st gen, 9.7") it makes the iPad somewhat bulky/heavy (which is nice, cause you get some additional protection on the device if you drop it). If you are looking to keep it light and slim, and limited on space, this might not be the best option. For the price, not a bad deal, keyboard works as it should.

I wanted something a little sturdier for a case and I also wanted a keyboard. This is both in one. While the connection is not as "tight" as a Surface it does the job. Allows my to type when i want to and to remove it for just a tablet. 4 stars due to the lack of robust connection to the iPad.

Best keyboard solution for the iPad Pro 10.5

I like this a lot. Like most Logi products it's well made and provides decent protection. It uses the smart connector (no bluetooth) which saves battery life. Plus when disconnected from the smart connector, it's disconnected. Pairing and unpairing from Bluetooth can be a real pain. It's also thin and provides a decent level of protection. Of a limited selection, this gives you the best value for your money. Would be nice if BBY carried it in blue in the stores.

Great keyboard case for iPad Pro 10.5

I have numerous keyboards for the iPad Pro 10.5. I have the Apple Smart Keyboard, the Zagg Rugged Messenger, numerous folding Bluetooth keyboards, and now this Logitech Slim Combo. Each keyboard has it’s pros and cons. The Apple Smart Keyboard is the slimmest and uses the Smart Connector but the keys don’t have backlighting and feel just okay. The Zagg Rugged Messenger has a better keyboard which is backlit but is bulky and uses Bluetooth. Bluetooth can connect to two devices, which is nice, but it’s still Bluetooth. All the foldable Bluetooth keyboards are not part of a case and have to be carried separately and you’ll need a case for your iPad. Plus again Bluetooth, which can go to sleep and you have to hit a key to wake the keyboard up after a few minutes of inactivity. This Logitech Slim Combo has a nice stand for the iPad with multiple angles. The keyboard feels really nice, has backlighting and uses the Smart Connector so no Bluetooth issues. The only con I see with this is the bulk it adds to the iPad. If you don’t mind the bulk, I highly recommend this Logitech Slim Combo.

This is a nice keyboard. Much better than Apple keyboard. This product not only provides you with a keyboard, but it also provide you with a case that protects your iPad Pro. The keyboard lights up when you first open it which is a plus and also is great when using in dark or low lighting. Keyboard also allows you to use the shortcut features that Apple keyboard has. If logitech was able to add a trackpad/touchpad, it would’ve been a fantastic thing.

The keyboard has a nice feel to it, and you don't have to wait for a battery to charge with it. I'm not sure if there is an option to turn power off and still leave it connected to the iPad, as at present I'm disconnecting the keyboard when I don't want to use it. The cover seems to provide decent protection.

Good keyboard with backlight, not a great design

I have this for my iPad Air and have enjoyed having a good keyboard that has good adjustability with the integrated stand on the back of the screen portion. The keyboard is responsive and has a good backlight that you can easily turn on and off. That being said, the one thing that I don’t enjoy about the unit as much is the design. It is clunky and takes away from the sleek and modern design of the iPad itself. The outer shell is a relatively slippery hard plastic that I think would be improved if it had a slight coating to make it less slick. Also, since the keyboard comes off very easily (which is nice at times), it also means that when closed, there is some “play” when shut (as a clamshell).

    Great Keyboard and Case

After reviewing many different keyboard and case combinations, I chose the Logitech. After using this keyboard for the past couple of weeks, it is apparent why it has so many great reviews. I have large hands, and I find it easy to type on this keyboard. The detachable keyboard works well when I want to hold my iPad to watch movies or work on other projects. Of course, there is one downside to the keyboard needing to be connected to the iPad, and that's when you'd rather type with the iPad in portrait orientation. (Minor in my mind.) One other minor ding for this case... I wish it would have a little more security for staying attached to the iPad. I found that the iPad can come out of the case rather easily. It worries me that if I do accidentally drop the device that the case might not protect it in a way that I desire. I stress a little caution here. However, if you think this is a show stopper, just remember that the expensive Apple keyboard doesn't provide any protection for your iPad.

I bought this for my apple ipad pro and I couldn't be happier. I like the quality of the material. It's a hard case, so it protects the ipad like a shell. The keyboard is very durable and easy to use. If you are worried about your tablet getting banged up between books, luggage or other objects then this is the case for you!

This keyboard feels great to type with and I love the features such as backlit keys and function keys. However, it does add some bulk and weight and J wish the case had a little more grip to it.

I’ve got to give credit to the makers of this keyboard. It works really well. I love the backlighting, and the keys feel very natural. And the I pencil holder is a huge plus. But there are just too small cons I should mention. Most notably the outside is very slick and could have easily had a rubber or vinyl coating. It feels like it wants to slip out of my hand more than I would like The other concern is the hard plastic that holds the iPad in place. I’m very worried about scratching the iPad and this could’ve been softer. That said, I find this the best keyboard option after doing a lot of online studying.

Overall it is a very nice device. But a little on the chunky side. So I returned it to get the Apple keyboard. I what I miss already with the logi keyboard is that it has backlighting. And was very good and keeping the iPad safe. I may go back and get it again later on. I love the keys on it and how they flowed with my fingers as I typed. I’m still getting used to the Apple keyboard.

Wanted to protect my new iPad. I chose this because it has a flip out stand and the keyboard detaches very easy so it won’t drain the battery. Also like that the keyboard lights up. Even without the keyboard attached it is a little weighty but I feel like it’s well protected.

This case has a lot of noteworthy positives with one major--and in my case fatal--flaw. The actual "protective" part of the case is slightly better than the average single-layer plastic case in that it has a slight lip, meaning if you drop your iPad face-down the screen will not take as direct an impact. It's slightly thicker than the Zagg case I previously tried, too. What the overall case lacks versus the Zagg is protective power "at rest." The keyboard part of the case only attaches to the main part via a magnet, and the magnetic connect is to the IPAD and not the case itself, meaning it simply will not stay closed securely. The keyboard itself is the best part of the entire ensemble. Even for a gaming keyboard aficionado like myself, the full-sized Logitech keyboard was pretty solid for portable typing needs. I recognize this is the major reason one would look at this case in the first place and that my own desire for hardcore protection is not the norm. But the keyboard has a "feature" that ends up being a huge drawback: the Smart Connector power supply. It sounds nice not to have to charge the keyboard separately as it runs off the iPad. But this keyboard eats battery like crazy even at rest. I put the iPad in my backpack at 100% charge at 9 A.M. the first morning I had it. By the time I got to court at 10:30 my iPad battery was at 55%. That's nearly half the battery drained in an hour and a half of doing nothing, when the Pro by itself will handle a full day of HD video watching, gaming, or other intensive use on a single charge. By the time my work day was over at 2:30 the iPad was down to 12%. Not only is this pitiful in terms of efficiency, it significantly decreases the utility of the case AND the device. If for some reason you can keep your iPad separate from the keyboard all day except during times of use, AND you have zero concerns about drop damage, this may be a case for you. I simply cannot recommend it.
