The camera itself is great, but I returned this for another product that was cheaper. The app is slow in live mode. The plastic mounting for the camera broke easily on the first day I had it.

Hello ! We are sorry you are have issues with the night vision for your Circle 2. Circle 2’s Night Vision works best under the following conditions:The camera is up to 15 feet away from movement ; The correct mount is selected in the Circle app (Settings > Camera Mount). Night vision will automatically update for optimal performance with your mount ; The area you want to monitor is clear and unobstructed with no objects close to the camera in its field of view. The reflection of the night vision light from these objects may cause the automatic system to over-compensate, darken the image, and reduce the visibility of objects in the distance. I really loved this system. The cameras can be indoor or outdoor, and there’s even an adapter to put it up against glass inside to minimize reflection. But the cameras kept falling off the network, and when I was remote, I could not restart them. Hoping they improve these cameras - would be willing to buy again if they fixed this network issue.

Good Camera for a Wire-Free

This camera is being used indoors and it works pretty good being wire free. It does take a minute to get a live picture for me. It is convenient that you can place it anywhere regardless of having an outlet near by. I also purchased the wired version of the same camera system and preferred that. So, if you have a way to use the plugged version, I recommend that one instead. Both give good view and angle shots. I was happy to have gotten it on sale before Christmas and always watch for it to go on sale again.

It was my favorite camera.... 23 days later it said it couldnt find the internet connection. An hour on the phone with tech support tried every reset known to man... cant get it to work. Logitech offered to send me a new one. I tried to take it back to the store and was told it was too late due to their holiday return schedule of rules. So I guess i have to call logitech back and get them to send me a replacement. Based on these caveats i could recommend this to a friend.

Let me start with, I love Logitech. I have keyboards, mice, webcams, etc. it is a brand I honestly trust to do things right or fix them if something is wonky.
The build is great. The battery life is great. The night vision is very nicely done and is fantastic when it works. The images are sharp and clear.
So why a 2 star?
This is billed as a security camera.
If this was simply marketed as a wireless camera, I would rate it higher. It is a camera and it is wireless. It works well in those areas. My issues can probably be fixed with a future firmware update, but in its current form it fails badly. I suppose I could have a defective or faulty unit, but I do not think that is the case. Logitech hardware is rarely the issue in my experience.
Here are the flaws I have found so far:
-Night vision will fail and default to regular vision if there is a light source anywhere in the area. A distant background window light or a street light in the distance will prevent night vision from initializing. I found the moon to cause issues.
-Motion sensing is a complete failure. To test in the best possible scenario I set it up in my office which is well lit. My son walked in, grabbed a envelope off my desk and walked away before the camera came to life to miss his appearance. I walked in, grabbed my backpack from my chair and left, never once being detected by the sensor.
-Setup was painful. Something that should have taken a few minutes to complete. It took hours with multiple resets of the camera. First attempt at a firmware update died half way thru. Second attempt got the update, but would not go beyond the update. After 6 tries I finally saw an image on my phone. Five minutes later I lost connection to my wi-fi (5 feet away to the router) and had to reset again.
-My idea of a security style camera would keep someone from, I don't know, stealing the camera. The mounting bracket to the base simply slides into the camera/battery case or body. And it slides right back off with no way to lock it down. the wall mount is a simple twist on and off. I feel I will need a security camera to keep my camera safe.
-The speaker and mic combo are very poor. I am not looking for HD audio. But not having to say "what?" constantly would be nice.
With the poor motion sensing. Less than permanent mounting. Wonky night vision. And painful setup. The audio I can live with, this isn't suppose to be used for interaction but deterent. In all honesty I can not recommend this iteration to anyone.
The scariest parts. I can walk in, pick up the camera and walk away before it catches the motion. If the room is dark, the 10 second record time passes before night vision is focused or even active.
Hoping for new firmware soon.

I have read reviews on this camera that complained about multiple problems. Mine works fine. Note... since it does have 180 view, the image is distorted like a wide angle lens of a camera.
Others who have written reviews complaining that the camera goes offline should check their wifi strength in their house or outside the house... if the camera is going to be put up outside or in the garage. I did have to change the location of my router to increase signal strength to my garage, which is where my circle 2 camera is being used. I use the window mount and I am very pleased with results. I like being able to see the delivery of packages and other activities in my front yard.
I did buy a camera with a battery, but I have not used the battery, since I am using the window mount which comes with relatively long cord to plug camera in.
The camera purchase does include some storage, but very little. If I were to use the camera as a 'security camera' while on vacation, I would probably want to purchase additional storage.
I would also suggest watching a video online on the set up of the camera first, since the instructions that come with the camera are sketchy.

Thank you for your review ! We are happy you are enjoying using Circle 2. Circle requires High-speed, Wi-Fi Internet connection (802.11 a/b/g/n 2.4GHz or 5.0GHz) to work. The ideal distance between your camera and router is 5 - 10 ft. Once you set up your camera, you can gradually move it away from router or wireless access point. Love this camera. Like most Logitech products, it just works. Very simple installation and easy to navigate software. Get notifications on my iPad, iPhone and Apple Watch when anyone shows up at the door, regardless of where I am. I get a 10 second video and can ever hear the knock on the door. Battery lasted 3 weeks.

To start - the incumbent technology I currently use is the Netgear Arlo. A device I have a few problems with (mostly the fact that it uses super expensive batteries) that seemed to be well addressed by this device on paper. To succeed in this review, the Logitech Circle 2 must be at or better than what is offered by Netgear.
I’m using this camera in a slightly different angle (for reasons that will soon become apparent) watching the only entryway to my apartment. I have never felt ‘unsafe’ in my apartment, just want to have something watching the place when I’m gone. I’ve set it up 8’ away from the door and 2’ away from the door just to make sure that it has no problems detecting objects in range.
Things it does well:
The first and foremost thing this camera has going for it is that it comes with a hefty rechargeable battery. Fully assembled, the camera weighs close to a pound. Still working out a battery runtime figure - the first charge it had a ton of WiFi problems and ran through the battery in about two days. Second charge seems to be holding well for now. Charge time on the battery seemed to be about 3 hours from “empty.”
Outward appearances are promising, it gets its looks from its namesake - one big white circle with a black space in the middle of it which blends in well with interior walls. Mounting is a breeze and given its weight, I was able to use a ‘medium’ sized Command strip to mount it to my apartment wall (no mess, no issues after lease!) Additionally, the 180-degree lens lets the viewer see a ton more detail in the frame from what I could see from a standard lens - we’ll get back to this soon.
It comes with a nifty quick-disconnect mount - a small steel rod with a divot in the end of it such that the camera can latch onto it just tight enough that it won’t fall off. The benefit of which is that you never need to worry much about remounting it with the proper orientation when you finish recharging it. Just snap it on and you’re ready to go.
I normally try to decouple provided apps from reviews because the app can (and probably will change), but as of writing this review, the app has one really nifty feature called “Daily Brief.” In this feature, the app will take all the video events recorded and combine them into a short take such that you can get just the critical events and perhaps dig into the ones that matter more to you.
Places where it could serve to improve:
One of my major issues with this camera is that it is _always_ recording. The most you can do with no direct human interaction (such as turning the device off via the app) is enable “smart alerts” - a function of the app which senses your location based on the phone and will hide or show alerts accordingly. As I live in a relatively small apartment, I find this to be one step too far in terms of recording and my reasonable expectation of privacy (combined with a 180-degree lens that sees everything). The incumbent device allows you to disable video capture automatically and integrates with IFTTT. The best I’ve seen from the Logitech app is an option to set “Privacy Mode” where “Circle continues streaming, but does not record any footage or send alerts” - unfortunately, this is still too much in my opinion.
Let’s get this out of the way, I do not recommend this camera. The flaws I’ve found in it create a false sense of security which is far worse than no security at all.
The biggest flaw that I’ve found to date is that I can’t get the sensor to reliably trigger video recording, even with the sensors maxed out. Maxing out the microphone detection, cool - can even tell that a neighbor three doors down dropped a penny. Changing the sensitivity on the camera portion however seems to yield no noticeable change. I have personally been able to stand and do jumping jacks in front of the camera and not have it detect any motion.
Additionally, when I do get it to record, it seems to have a very slow iris. Opening the doorway to my hall sometimes causes the video to record a blacked out scene aside from a very small yellow rectangle of the hallway light incoming wherein bodies appear as no more than shadows.
The issues above were compounded very quickly by a device that frequently falls offline despite having a line of sight view (of about 30’) to the most powerful wireless router in the domicile and it reporting a strong WiFi signal most of the time when I’m in the app. When it falls offline, the camera drinks battery, making the issue even worse.
Regardless of the faults above and what could be the reason, the below issue is listed with the premise that these might be related to my installation and not entirely the fault of the camera.
Back to the “I try to decouple from apps but still feel the need to talk about it” line: One of the first things I do when I get new technology is see what options are present for users to change and fiddle with. For a large portion of the time (and most particularly, when changing the Maximum Recording Time), when I would attempt to save settings, I would get a generic error stating that saving my settings had failed and I should try again. Despite multiple repeated efforts, the longest I can get this device to record for is 10 seconds, despite a setting being present to max it out at 60 seconds.
Additional information left for reader but not directly added to the evaluation:
Getting the device setup initially took me four hours of struggling and an interaction with the support team. Their team was amazingly responsive over email - 24 hour turn time followed by a number of follow-ups to make sure I got it online.
After the stint where it was bouncing on and offline repeatedly and draining the battery quickly, the camera did have another problem requiring me to hard reset it again. Setup in the Logitech Circle app was amazingly easy once the camera had the updated firmware.
I’ve added neither of these points to the review rating as I surmise they are a one time experience and won’t affect my ownership of the device in the long run nor would they affect a common consumers ownership.
Would I buy it again?
Honestly, no. On paper, it looks and sounds awesome. In this implementation however, this feels like a product that is still in beta release. With a number of other competing products out there (discounting my incumbent device), the Logitech Circle 2 has some work that needs to be done.

I have never been interested in buying security cameras until now. Circle 2 by Logitech has a sleek and light design and it has a good video resolution and sturdy construction materials. The camera comes with different features like wall mounts, and they also provides a separate window and outlet mount. The cameras position can be switched very easily to fit any place you want to put it in. It was very simple to set up, I just followed the instructions, installed the app and the whole process took me about 10 minutes, since the beginning . The size of the camera is also very small which is what impresses me the most because of all the things it can do. Everything is based on the app or the Logitech software for windows computer and the Logitech cloud. The app allows me to choose whether I want a notification when something is detected. It’s a very useful tool because I can check up on my home at any time. It allows me to film 24/7 so If you can’t look at the footage it’s still possible to look at it later. When I received the camera, I started to use the app while I was away home, and I was able to see either live or recorded video, excellent video quality, I have to say. It also includes a microphone and speaker, so I can talk to my dog and If I positioned the camera outside, at the door entrance, I can check and talk when somebody rings the doorbell, whether am at home or not. Because it has a two way conversation capability. The wireless camera has not run out of battery yet and it’s been more than three days, since I started to use it. The app offers something called Day Brief. I can scroll through all the movement events and check all the alerts of the day receiving continuous alerts when the camera detects any movement.
Logitech gave me a free account and basic storage that only last for few days, then if you want a year unlimited storage is for $99 per year per camera. I wish the app or the software allows you to set up your own cloud, like one note or ICloud, or Google Storage, however with the app I haven’t found a way to do it

Hello gonzalo! Thank you for your review ! We are very glad you like the Circle 2 camera and its video quality. With a new camera you get a 10 days free trial of the Circle Safe Premium subscription, so you can see all the features and how they work. If you decide for the subscription the any footage will be stored for 30 days. Without subscription still you will always have 24 hours of storage for free and can download the recordings you wish to keep. For security reasons the camera connects only to the Circle cloud using two layers of encryption. That's why it won't work with other clouds.
