I was skeptical about air purifiers, we don't wear shoes inside, we vacuum and dust our house weekly, so air should be pretty clean, right? But when we got this purifier I was surprised! Initially it reported indoor air quality as GOOD and was doing pretty much nothing (that is what I expected) but dinner time rolled in and my wife started searing some onions for the recipe. Dyson air purifier immediately (within a couple of minutes) detected that air quality degraded (smell of fried onion!) and came to life, started doing it's job. We used to that cooking smells typically fill up the whole house, but to my surprise Dyson purifier was able to contain the smell within kitchen-living room area and was done in about 2 hours. No cooking smells in every room anymore!
It's not just the cooking smells it can remove though, it's indicators show overall air quality and levels of: 10 micron particles (like dust or pollen), 2.5 micron particles (smoke), Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC, like paint fumes), NO2 (Nitrogen Dioxide - subproduct of burning fossil fuels).
I did notice that in my house I mostly have PM2.5 particles when cooking and a very slight rise of NO2 level in the mornings.
Air purifier can oscillate (turn side to side) 45, 90, 180 or 350 degrees and it could blow air forward or to the back (if blowing forward makes you uncomfortably cold).
Remote control is included, but purifier could be also controlled via phone app (Dyson Link) or using Amazon Alexa voice controls.
Purifier has a set of 4 filters (2 fiberglass that look kinda like engine air filters and 2 carbon), I was not able to find a price of replacement filters just yet.
Overall - I'm very pleased with the machine, very quiet operation (in Auto mode it's almost silent if indoor air quality is good) and no more cooking smells!

Pros
Quiet even on high for an air purifier
Compact design is easy to accommodate in any room
Airflow can be directed to cool or only purify
Integrated smartphone controls and reporting
Night mode limits noise output and dims screen
Measures air quality to help you find out what is affecting you
Automatic mode allows it to turn on and clean air as needed
Integrates with Alexa
Attractive design
Moves a lot of air on high
Cons
No listing of how big of a room is supported
Slight motor whine on high
Says not to carry by loop even though that is the most logical method
Fan keeps saying it has updated firmware and yet app says it needs a firmware update
If you suffer from allergies you are probably accustomed to having a big box in your room making a loud air sound as you sleep at night. You hope it makes a difference but aren’t quite sure since it doesn’t tell you anything. You don’t leave it on all the time because you don’t want to hear it running. Well the Dyson Pure Cool Tower, as with most Dyson products, does things a little different.
To start, most air purifiers are boxes that sit on the floor. The pure cool tower looks and acts just like a tower fan, except in Dyson style. If you want to use it as a purifier you can change it to direct air to the back. Direct air to the front it becomes a purifier and fan. A nice side benefit of the purifier always being part of this combined with the unique design means air is always passed through a filter first. This should mean no more figuring out a way to clean dust off the blades on a regular tower fan. On high, the purifier is louder than a traditional tower fan with a slight motor whine sound. A night mode option does limit the speed to a max of 4 instead of 10 meaning it is silent while you sleep. To be fair, it is more appropriate to compare it to a purifier and in that case, it is far quieter. Although more subjective, the design is much more attractive than a traditional purifier so leaving it in a room doesn’t create the eyesore most do.
The design also means you likely won’t feel compelled to put it up the moment allergy season is over. This is helpful because with an automatic mode the purifier measures contaminants in the room and automatically cleans the air as needed. The side effect is that the continuous on demand cleaning means dusting should be needed less since there is less in the air. It also means if you leave it out on automatic, you shouldn’t get caught when allergens change during a lazy spell and you aren’t checking allergy reports only to wake up with a stuffed nose. Another benefit of the automatic features is the filter monitor. Even if you ignore the display directly on the tower, the app will tell you when your filter life is getting low. This really helps to spoil you with less to think about. Just put it on auto and it will tell you when it needs help. Adding even more to the convenience factor is the ability to control it with Alexa. If using the remote or app are too much work, just tell Alexa to do it for you.
If you are the type who wants to get more hands on it of course has a manual mode. More importantly, you can get reports on levels of different contaminants including PM 2.5, PM 10, VOC and NO2. The display on the tower allows you to display the temperature, humidity, or the contaminant level of your choice. The app can show you them all in a single glace to allow you to examine every aspect of the air quality of your room. Strangely, if you want to dig into the specific graphs of contaminants the app warns the purifier needs a firmware upgrade. No matter how many times it says firmware upgrade complete, the graphs do not show. Hopefully this is just a sign of an upcoming feature and not a bug. Overall, this shortcoming doesn’t affect the functionality unless you just must see the contaminant levels from hours ago. It is very easy to see the sensors at work. Just mow your lawn and come in and out a few times during the process. You will not only see the numbers jump on the display, you will hear the fan speed up to clear the air. Once things have settle the purifier will slow back down and turn off as needed.
Regardless of if you are the hands off or hands on type of person, the Pure Cool Tower can help you keep your allergies in check. If you like Dyson products, you know and accept their products aren’t the cheapest. Typically, their higher price comes with a lot of added value and the same is true of the Pure Cool Tower. There are no major downsides. In fact, the only real gripe is if you want to move it you aren’t supposed to use the most logical built in carrying handle. Even though the loop looks like a perfect carrying handle, the instructions say not to do so or you may damage the unit.
If you are the market for an air purifier and want something you can just leave out all the time to take care of things for you without fuss, then the Dyson Pure Cool Tower is a good fit. It makes taking care of allergies easier and more informative while keeping your room quiet.

While both my wife and I suffer from allergies, my wife generally has a tougher time. This purifier will definitely help, it has already made an improvement in the air quality of our bedroom. The companion app is a great tool for not only monitoring the current air quality, but you can easily see what has been corrected by looking at the statistics from previous days. The added ability to create a constant stream of purified air is a major plus. At it's highest speed, it pushed a very large amount of air, but really the only noise that you hear is from the movement of the air itself. The noise the purifier makes itself is very minimal. And, if you're concerned with the noise produced, scheduling the purifier to change to a night mode (which limits its speed) keeps it whisper quiet, even when oscillating. Speaking of scheduling, which can all be controlled through the app, or included remote, setting the purifier to "Auto" removes the guess work out of when to run. This is a very easy to use purifier. My only concern is the potential maintenance cost of replacing the filters, though the seem like they'll last for a while.
If you're in the market for an air purifier, you can't go wrong with this one.
Pros: Very efficient at purifying and maintaining air quality Very quiet. Oscillation, powerful air movement, easy scheduling through app, digital assistant compatible
Cons: Potential maintenance cost of replacement filters

I have been considering buying an air purifier for awhile, but have been hesitant on picking a manufacturer given all the varying reviews. I have small white dust accumulation in my apartment, probably due to my air conditioning ducts not being cleaned, and a slightly musty air quality.
The Dyson TP04 was fairly simple to assemble, although the metal grills, which house the filters were initially difficult to assemble in a manner in which both snapped in to place. This initially led to the TP04 failing to fully rotate, I believe, during operation. After a couple reassemble attempts I got both the metal grills to snap in to place simultaneously. Operation of the TP04 was simple via the supplied remote.
I run the TP04 continuously on a medium/low setting for continuous air purification and air circulation. As a result, I have noticed a significant decrease in white dust accumulation in my bedroom along with a complete lack of musty odor. In addition, I no longer seem to wake up with a “stuffed up” nose. Functionally, the TP04 is very informative. Using the remote you can cycle through various informational displays on the unit, to monitor various air quality settings. You can also use the remote to adjust degrees of rotation, fan speed, choosing “auto” operation, filter life status, etc.
Overall, the TP04 is a very stylish and effective air purifier. The TP04 is perfect for a bedroom given its square foot rating and quite operation. Perhaps a little better fit, construction wise, on the metal grills, but overall the build quality is good.

I was first introduced to Dyson products with the V8 cordless vacuum and have been completely happy with it. This being my second Dyson product, I feel the same way. The TP04 in my opinion is an excellent and solid product that combines both a tower fan and air purifier in one. It has four different settings for oscillation 45,90,180 and 350 degrees. The digital display shows the temperature, moisture in the air and shows you how good or dirty the air is that it is filtering with readings for VOC, NO2 and others. The blade less design will most definitely give people with pets or small children piece of mind. Having both a fan and an air purifier in one makes me a little more hopeful my allergies will be a little more bearable this season.

...Let's check what it says it does against what it really does.
Works as a fan? Check!
Purifies the air? CHECK!
Can be started and stopped from work (nowhere near home!) via the app? Yup!
Filters work? You BETCHA! I recently replaced the filters on my TP02 and DP04 and they were full of filterized out junque. I've got complete confidence in Dyson technology!
Looks cool while just sitting there? Why yes...Yes it does! My wife likes it for that reason alone but also because of the next factor.
Quality? After nearly a year of using a DP04 and a TP02 I have zero doubts about the quality of Dyson products, so...YES!
Worthy my money? Definitely. Highly recommended.
Trust me. I know what I'm doin' when I'm reviewin'.

I originally bought the DP04, but it didn’t work well as a fan. So I returned it and got the tower version. It works great as a fan for does hot days in south Louisiana and helps me breathe better at night. I enjoy the quiet settings when I only need the air purifier. The app is a plus and works awesome. I use Siri on my iPhone to turn on and off the tower if I need to. I also have set schedule that has the dyson ready for bedtime and off when I wake up.

The Dyson pure cool Air Purifier has been such a blessing in my home. I have horrible allergies that has plagued me over the last 20+ years. I also have 2 cats and a dog that shed like crazy. Before I got the dyson I would wake up in the middle of the night so stuffy that I could barely breathe and could never fall back a sleep. So after reading some of the reviews from people that where similar to me I decided to bite the bullet and buy it. I can honestly say it has worked like a charm. I’ve been sleeping better, not waking up in the middle of the night, and as an added bonus the fan has a great cooling effect which is wonderful when you live in Miami and other tropical climates. It actually is much cooler than the regular oscillating fans you see so much of today.
The design is nice and sleek with a variety of colors you can choose from that fits best for whatever room you decide to put it in. According to the manual you get the best results in a room around 400 sq. Ft. Mine is primarily kept in the master bedroom but it’s easy to move it if you want, it’s not heavy. The only issue someone might have with the dyson air purifier is that it’s on the higher end spectrum regarding costs. But you get what you pay for and I believe Dyson has the best air purifiers on the market. So if you’re like me tired of waking up where you can’t breathe and your allergies are bothering you then pick one of these and thank me later.

I bought this for my child the day we went home from the hospital. As a new parent, I was so terrified of everything hahah. It’s been over 2 years and I still love it. I absolutely love the fact that it monitors the air quality and you can control everything from the app. Even if I had to be away from home, it gave me peace of mind. It is worth the expense.

I was a little hesitant to get this purifier because of the price but now that I got it I'm wishing I paid more and got the one with the heater. This is a really nice system! In a small apartment when you cook, the smell can last for days. This purifier set to auto scrubs the air in no time. The fan works great too, and the app offers some interesting data. I don't regret spending the extra $$$ and going for the Dyson. It's really excellent and looks a lot more stylish than most other units, lots of features too! Highly recommend.

The Dyson air purifier unit I bought for $600.85 stopped working after about 4 years. Now I have a triangle with an exclamation mark in the middle and it won’t reset. I called for troubleshooting, and they didn't help. They want $150 just to ship it back for repair, then the repair cost would be added to the $150 shipping cost. What a rip-off. I'm in the market for a vacuum cleaner, but it will NOT be a Dyson.

I was hesitant when buying such an expensive fan. But after a few weeks of owning it, I can tell there are obvious benefits. I live in Los Angeles where the air quality is terrible. Having the air purifier is so nice. I was initially looking for a WiFi fan, and landed on this as the only choice.
I initially went with another fan over this because of the price. But now, after a year with the bladed tower fan which is covered in hard to clean dust, I decided to make the investment.
It’s sleek, cool looking and easy to clean. I can tell the air is cleaner- my chest isn’t as tight as it was before when breathing, it’s pretty noticeable. And most of all, my google nest turns the fan on when I say ‘good night google’ or off in the morning. I can even have it turn on or off automatically. It can also be controlled by phone and rotated through the app, it’s quite nice.
A few bad things, to get any real air flow, it has to be cranked to 8-10. Which makes it loud. I like it when I sleep, but it’s pretty silent at the lower settings if you want just the air purifier, but if you want the fan, 8-10 are the only options for really any felt air flow. Even at 10, the air flow is only good for a small room, but every other fan I had was is quite a bit stronger. And obviously this thing is pricey.
I fully recommend it. The only difference between the TP series is the types of filters and indicator screen, not strength. I think TP04 is a good middle ground between TP02 and TP06. If you can afford to invest in a fan, this might be a good one to look at with an air purifier, WiFi, and fan.

I personally love this fan, the price of it is not worth it. Buy it on sale if you are interested. Dyson made this fan perform some unique aspects such as you can choose how far is oscillates. I believe the oscillation range is up to 350 degrees, and you can use the remote to determine the range you prefer or use your phone Dyson app to define the exact range much easier. The purifier is the main reason why I purchased this fan, as this tower sucks in air through its HEPA filters (that you will need to replace) then blows the air out at a high rate. If you have the Dyson Link App, you can see which Air Quality being tracked on a daily/weekly scale.
When it comes to controlling the TP04 I tend to use the Dyson Link App over the hand held remote. Controlling the fan using the app is the best way to go with all of the tools the fan is capable of at your finger tips for control. The remote that is provided is very limited in functionality. I personally have not used the voice activated approach with Alexa but I feel the controls would be limited aw well.

So after reading tons of reviews and you tube videos for performance. This is the perfect air purifier!!!!!I can't tell you; but I love this thing and didn't know I needed this so badly in my life. Over the years I've learned to invest more in my health.. and as cheesy as it is... health is wealth. I have severe asthma... even my friends dog in the room will trigger my asthma without me touching him. After purchasing this, my asthma has disipated and I haven't had to nebulize as much! I can have my two kittens with kitty litter and no issues! The device pairs great with the app and you can remotely adjust the settings - if you can't locate the remote. Its excellent for tracking all the specs allergens and qualities of air..even the heat when the furnace runs! The air filter can be replaced after a year.. I found some replacement options on amazon... but so far this is the best purchase I've made and so happy I did! I didn't realize at how tall it was either...lastly follow the instructions before lifting the unit out of the box! Its super quiet and oscillates too! Thank you Dyson for this incredible invention!!! Its pricy, but worth every penny! if you love fur babies and have sevrre asthma I would highly recommend this!

I bought this to help with the summer months, and to help with the air quality in my apartment. I also bought the smaller version (HP04) for the bedroom which I will also review.
The fan itself is great! It can move some serious air if need be. The filtration system is great. I have noticed a difference with being able to breath (I grew up with Asthma, have some allergies and the dog mainly lives in the living room near the fan). I haven't been nearly as weezy this summer like last summers. Honestly I just set it on Auto and let it do its thing. I will say the sensor for detecting pollutants is pretty sensitive. When cooking and some smoke from cooking gets in the air, both fans will kick into high gear until its all cleared out. Same goes for when its cleaning time and the dust starts to fly. My GF loves using it along with the AC in our place when she is working out.
The app is also amazing! Super easy to use and makes it nice to be able to adjust both fans without looking for the remote. I can also change the fans on the app if im not at home (in case you want to turn it off or turn up the fan speed). It really is an easy app to use. Its nice it tells you the filter life as well.
I know these Dyson fans are a little pricey, but i have owned many cheaper fans and have not been this happy with them.

Great features, nice design. Remote is decent, but difficult to use in the dark. Dyson app is useful for scheduling with specific settings (on/off, fan speed, oscillation, etc). The fan noise is higher than expected relative to the air flow. For a high-end (priced) fan, I expected the fan noise itself to be smooth and consistent…unfortunately, for my unit, this isn’t quite the case. I use this in my bedroom for white noise and air filtration, but I find I’m often annoyed by inconsistent noises produced by the fan. Fan speed low (between level 1-4) sound is generally “wobbling”…fan speed high (between level 6-10) sound is generally “whining” and “whistling”. Fan speed level 5 is the ideal balance of noise without sounding too distracting. Wish I could set it to any speed without hearing distracting mechanical noises from the fan.
I can only genuinely recommend if inconsistent fan noises do not bother you.

I really like this product. The app gives neat features such as digital remote. If I want the fan facing a specific direction I’m able to aim it directly from my phone. Dyson doesn’t disappoint. Overtime, it helped me with my allergies and I wake up less stuffy.
The fan is decently quiet, better than a standard fan. Level 10 is a good speed. Magnetic remote that can attach to the top of the fan to prevent it from being lost. Display does give a lot of information based off the room atmosphere condition, and it keeps track on auto. I recommend.
Not the best for the hottest of rooms without AC for summer use. It’ll cool but only as cool as the bottom of your room since it pulls coolest air from ground.
