Customers admire the CleanView Swive Rewind Pet Select Upright Vacuum's powerful suction, ease of use, and lightweight design, frequently praising its performance on pet hair and the convenient cord rewind feature. While some users found the noise level to be high, many appreciated the vacuum's overall value and the helpfulness of its attachments. A few customers reported issues with the belt and brush roll, but these concerns were less frequent than positive feedback.

I’m happy with my purchase. It was delivered quickly and in good shape. Easy to assemble. I’m not mechanically inclined at all so I went and watched a YouTube video from the manufacturer on assembling. Very simple once I watched the video. Takes 5 minutes max. The suction is awesome. I couldn’t believe the dirt that accumulated after 1 vacuum. My old Dirt Devil ain’t got nothing on this baby. And I like the large reservoir. Oh. And the cord retracts with a touch of a lever. I hated winding my old cord every time. And yes, you have to use a little more strength to maneuver it but it really grabs the carpet. It’s also a more heavy duty product. I have half carpet and half tile. So it’s not a big deal and I get to work my muscles a little. The swivel makes it easy to go around table bases and the angled sides help you get in crevices. Like when you vacuum along a wall. They designed it so it actually vacuums where the carpet meets the wall. I love that. It’s like buying a pick up truck instead of a Cadillac. Great deal for the price!

This is a good vacuum for the price. Easy to install. I read previous reviews about a design flaw where one of the accessory tools doesn’t actually fit on the vacuum, and it’s true, but not a big deal.
It is easy to maneuver around the house and worked great on both my hardwood and carpet. It picked up what my old vacuum didn’t. I have 2 cats and a dog plus all 3 people living in my house have long hair so as you can imagine, there is a lot to vacuum.
I love the Febreeze filter. It makes the room smell so nice. It’s a minor detail but actually my favorite part.

---SETUP---
The setup of this Bissell vacuum does require a philips screw driver to properly attach the handle. The screws are conveniently located by the handle with a taped bag. Additionally, all the other components aren’t as easy to figure out without reading the manual, but there is an online video you can watch if you prefer following directions while watching someone else.
---FEATURES---
The key feature of this vacuum is that is has a strong suction for pet hair. Additionally, one of my favorite features is the Febreze foam filter that leaves carpets smelling flowery. It also has a retractable cord for quick storage.
---PERFORMANCE---
The performance of this vacuum amazing. After my first use in a heavily trafficked area by pets, this vacuum didn’t disappoint. I could clearly see the difference between the clean and the unclean area. Having a visible transparent tank makes you see how filthy your carpet actually was. The additional tools helped tremendously with the stairwell, which is also heavily trafficked by pets. The pet eraser tool is easy enough to install and use, though I do wish that the hose it attaches to was longer or that the main unit was detachable. It makes it cumbersome to be lugging around the whole unit because the hose isn’t that long.
---EXPECTATIONS---
The product meets my expectations. The only downside to an otherwise amazing vacuum is that it doesn’t automatically move forward. Other vacuums I’ve used, when powered, automatically start moving forward making it easier to stride with them. This vacuum, however, will require that you push it where you need it to go. It does make vacuuming feel like work as opposed to others that just run on their own and you guide them.
---VALUE---
The price for the vacuum in terms of value is affordable for how powerful it is.
---APPROVAL---
I highly recommend this product for people plan on vacuuming hard floors, carpets, and areas with lots of pet traffic. You will fall in love with the included Febreze filter. I am two rooms away from where I vacuumed and I can still smell the flowery scent from where I am.

I bought a Hoover vacuum for the basement and later bought this for the upstairs. The main difference? The power switch. On the Hoover it’s a toggle switch you have to stand up the vacuum to operate. Bissel has the advantage with the power button on the bottom that you step on to operate! Plus this model was cheaper than the Hoover I bought.
I was really wanting a Dyson vacuum, but the wife said no - too expensive. I’ve heard Dyson’s quality has dropped off from the earlier models that lasted a decade or more. Anyway, after buying this I realized vacuums aren’t that big of a deal, I don’t need the most expensive, this one works just fine. Compared to the Hoover, all but the power switch seems the same; bagless canister that is easy to empty, and retractable power cord. I do like the swivel on the base of this more than the lack of swivel on the Hoover.

Surprisingly, for the price the BISSELL CleanView does its job well. Even after having recently vacuumed my carpet with a different vacuum, it still managed to get more pet hair. Having such a large clear canister also makes it visible just how much you are picking up.
Putting the BISSELL Cleanview together wasn’t difficult, but does require a phillips head screwdriver. All of the tools snap onto the vacuum, however, the flexible crevice tool that is supposed to go into the extension wand is a bit tight due to it being rubberized. It requires a little force to get it inside so that it will snap in place for storage.
The triple action brush roll has three types of bristles on it that seems to help get different textures of materials. Having the clear plastic over that brush roll is nice as well, as you can easily see if something is getting tangled without having to disassemble it. However, if you do have to get the brush roll out, that is six screws to remove on the bottom.
The tools include the Flexible Crevice Tool which has two settings by twisting it. One that is like a typical crevice tool and uses the tip for vacuuming and the other which uses the side for broader strokes. The whole tool is covered in rubber so it manages to grab hair pretty well. The Dusting Brush is pretty standard. The Pet TurboEraser Tool is interesting. It uses the power of the suction to create spin on the brushroll. It’s not like a powered brushroll as it will stop with any friction, so it takes a little getting used to. However, it did a great job at getting the hair off of my stairs.
Having the cord rewind makes things a lot easier when it comes to finishing up. Just a push of a button and all 27 feet of the cord is cleaned up for you. The down side to the large clear tank and the rewind is that you aren’t getting under much with it. The vacuum tilts and swivels well and will get slightly under the edge of beds and table, but not much. You can easily pull off the hose, snap on the wand extension and any one of the tools though.
The tank is easy to remove and empty and the filters are easily accessible for cleaning. I also really enjoy the Febreze Pet Odor Eliminator Filter that is included with this model. I don’t know how long it will last, but using this vacuum with this filter is refreshing and probably something I will end up replacing as it does wear out. As far as wear, this also comes with a 4 year limited warranty which is surprising as even higher priced vacuums don’t tend to come with one that long.
If you have pets and carpet, the BISSELL Cleanview Swivel Rewind Pet Select is certainly worth it. With the added Ferbreze filter, I just want to vacuum to freshen up my home.

The Bissell CleanView Swivel Rewind is an ok vacuum for the price. You have to pay up for better features and a more powerful motor, something I recommend you consider if it's in your budget. One thing that irks me about Bissell is they don't pay attention to details. The model I received #2255 does not appear on the Bissell website. It appears to be the same as the 2256 except the triangle pet hair corner tool is replaced by an optional Fabreeze filter instead.
Installation
• To install the handle, you need a cross-tip screwdriver. The screws go in at a slightly awkward angle because the handle gets in the way, but it's manageable. Not sure why they didn’t just have a self-click install or a different screw placement.
• Similarly, in case you ever have to remove the roller brush (which you will eventually as it is not tangle-free), there are several cross-tip screws to pull out. Again, manageable, but higher priced machines tend to be easier to deal with.
• Had to guess a bit at the install of the attachment holder. They should’ve included an up arrow to indicate which end is up. Not difficult to figure out for most people, but just lack of attention to detail.
• The crevice tool for the 2255 does not store on the vacuum itself. On the 2256 the crevice tool can be stored inside the extension wand, but it does not fit for the 2255. Again, a lack of attention to detail. My wife found an ingenious workaround by rubber banding the crevice tool to the handle – see photo.
• The instructions don’t specifically mention which end of the hose to attach to the accessories if you want to use them. Shouldn’t be a big deal to figure out for most people, but there will always be newbies who may get frustrated. Again, lack of attention to details.
Use
• The machine is light because the motor is light. That means it's easy to maneuver and carry, but also means you won't get the deepest clean, at least on a single pass.
• The crevice tool is designed to pick up debris along its long side or from its top end like a traditional crevice tool. You designate this by twisting the crevice tool at its base. It's a cool feature but its description is missing from the manual.
• The auto rewind cord is fantastic.
• Cleaning vacuums is always a bit dirty. At least this one allows you to keep your hands away from the door that drops the dirt out. Your hands will still get dirty as you then need to reach in to pull out and clean the filter.
I recommend the vacuum if it's what your budget allows. Otherwise, consider models with a stronger motor.

This is an enormous upgrade from our previous Bissel vacuum cleaner! Being designed to combat pet hair and dander, the bristles actually went deeper into the carper fibers to bring about a year of life back! The attachments for furniture are also extremely effective against pet hair, dirt, and even food/drink stains that have resisted most other cleaning. The amazing cleaning power paired up with the plethora of attachments for a variety of cleaning situation AND a self-storing, auto-rewinding cord bring you one of the best vacuums below $400! I would definitely recommend this vacuum to those who have pets and/or allergies to pets but still like it when their friends bring their furry friends around!

Wow! This Vacuum has Dynamic Suction Power

I have had many types and brands of vacuum sweepers, but I don’t think (with possibly the exception of a central vacuum system) that I have ever had a sweeper with nearly the suction power of this Bissell upright. To demonstrate to myself just how powerful this sweeper was or wasn’t, I used it new out of the box at a childless, pet less home with one occupant; and in a home that had been vacuumed earlier that day with a canister type, well known industry brand vacuum that was 93% more costly than this upright. I believe my photographs of the dirt collection from vacuuming mainly carpeting, and carpeted areas that are vacuumed on a weekly basis, speak for themselves.
Assembly was quick and easy with the alignment of the handle piece and the insertion of two screws. With the swivel design, the sweeper was easy to steer and maneuver around furniture allowing edge to edge cleaning and the crevice tool helped achieve thorough cleaning where the baseboard joined the carpeted area. The footplate has bumpers to help with easing any furniture bumping that might accidentally occur.
What makes this upright so impressive is that it doesn’t lose suction power. It has a “multi-cyclonic suction system” that prevents any loss of suction. One can also monitor this power using the suction indicator on top of the bagless, removeable dust collector. The filter is washable, and the unit is also packaged with an optional Febreze filter to help eliminate pet odors.
The 27’ power cord is retractable at the base of the removable canister. The only con that I found with this product was that I had large areas to vacuum and wish that the retractable cord could have been a 30’ reach.
There are four attachment tools included in the box. These include a flexible pet crevice tool, a pet turbo eraser tool, a dusting brush and an extension wand. The pet turbo eraser tool is a power tool for pet hair vacuuming of upholstery, pet beds, etc.
If you love dogs and pets like I do, you will appreciate the Bissell Pet Foundation. Bissell gives up to $1M a year to this foundation to help pets find homes. You can activate a $10 donation with the purchase of this vacuum sweeper by going on line and doing so.
With a 4-year warranty, this is a very impressive vacuum and the results exceeded my expectations of how well a vacuum could work. I would recommend buying this product if you do or don’t have a pet, but if you just wish to revive your carpeting by extracting any dirt or dust through the pile to the backing. This vacuum will definitely bring you carpeting back to life.

The setup was pretty simple enough, the only issue I had was a mounting the crevice tool. It was blocked by the actual hose so that was a bit of a bummer. I used the accessory brush to clean my drapes, which I thought was clean already and it was impressed. It did a nice job of sucking up the accumulated dust without damaging the fabric with the roller. The attachment tool has come in handy more than the floor cleaning applications. It has done a great job cleaning my couches, drapes, hard to reach crevices. It does a great job picking up that stubborn pet hair that always seems to be extra tough to vacuum up. The retractable power cord is awesome too, no more messy cable that will not store right. The only downside so far is that the tool can't be mounted properly and the plastic design makes me worry about the durability. Nice vacuum for the price point.

I have tried it on both surfaces carpet and floor. I gave this vacuum 4 stars for some misssing features company tended not to offer it in favor of value and competition in price. No self propel, no front light for better visibility. Suction is quite powerful and picks up debris magically with no issues, automatic cord rewind and swivel steering to reach edges and corner smoothly without hitting furniture. I noticed it is noisy compared to others out there in the market. Attachments including in this vacuum are helpful and snap in places located on the vacuum for neat organization. Good for the price in terms of getting great suction and automatoc cord rewind.

More Than Just a Vacuum

Vacuums typically last my household 1.5-2 years. I was fortunate the past 2-3 prior vacuum purchases that I began looking for new vacuum each time as soon as I sensed my current vacuum wasn't going to last much longer. I actually bought new vacuums before the current vacuums were completely worthless BUT only after I looked at multiple retailers and multiples options and made each purchase in confidence that it was the best quality and price that was available and within my budget.
Unfortunately, my vacuum broke in Mid-August unexpectedly, and I purchased the BISSELL - CleanView Upright Vacuum - Cobalt Blue/Black/Cha Cha Lime much more hastily than I than I would have liked. I have owned Bissell vacuums before, and I am overall pleased with the quality of their products. The price was reasonable, but I still hesitated with the thought that I could have saved money or come across a different style that I would have possibly liked more had I just been patient and looked around for even a couple more days.
I assembled the BISSELL - CleanView Upright Vacuum - Cobalt Blue/Black/Cha Cha Lime that very same day with incredible ease. I was anxious to test it, and had instant relief and shock because I could feel it was picking more off the floor than the previous had EVER picked up. In fact, it was picking up what sounded like sand, and it took me a bit to realize what it was. I could see through the clear base/dust cup that it looked exactly as it sounded -- sand? However we have not traveled anywhere even in close proximity of sand in years. The base/dust cup is a decent size, which is one of the features I appreciate because it my saves time as I don't need to empty it as frequently as most require.
I got a whiff off the sandy substance that the vacuum picked up throughout the entire house as I dumped the canister. The sandy substance had a sweet, familiar scent. Any guesses?
It was carpet powder! I used carpet powder every time I cleaned the house after I buying this house. I loved the smell of it. The best part of this story and the ultimate reason why I am such an advocate of this vacuum is that my love for the carpet powder vanished overnight upon becoming pregnant.....over 5 years ago! I purchased three, maybe four, vacuums after I had stopped using carpet powder before making my hasty decision to purchase this one. I know there are better quality vacuums available, but I was stunned as I thought to myself all the previous vacuums I've purchased in between seemed to be decent and picking up everything off my floors. After a moment of feeling so bone-headed to have spent so much time and money on turned to the positive in this all that I no longer needed to fret over making a hasty choice. It took two weeks vacuuming every room and in every nook and cranny multiple times until I was rid of the carpet powder.
Just in case you need more assurance than above -- this vacuum picks up pet hair with such more ease and so much quicker than any other vacuum I've ever owned. I love the automatic cord rewind feature with a touch of a toe. It makes storing the vacuum much quicker and easier than the vacuums that require you wind and latch the cord manually. You don't have to untangle every little kink and struggle to get the cord to latch properly or expect to open your storage space to find the cord all over the floor.
My final piece to add is that the all four of the included attachments -- Extension wand, flexible crevice tool, Pet TurboEraser tool, Triple Action Brush Roll -- are incredibly useful. I know with certainty this is the first vacuum I've purchased in which I use all the attachments, and for much more than just the floors! Not only is vacuum reasonably priced, I've saved money by utilizing the attachments for cleaning needs such as dusting ceiling fans instead of purchasing duster refills as I've done my entire life. I also vacuum my vehicles at home rather than spending money on vacuums at local car washes.

This vacuum cleaner works great! The swivel feature makes it easy to get around odd-shaped floor areas and under chairs. I like the retractable cord. The assortment of attachments is great. Great for a home with pets (we have a cat and dog who both shed). Very strong suction on all levels and has a “1-5” height setting which means 1=hardwoods/tile and 5=70’s shag carpet. The nozzle has great suction as well when vacuuming pet areas and beds. I found that the pet revolving attachment was almost overkill, as just the nozzle was powerful enough, but I suppose the revolving attachment covers more surface area.
Bagless canister is easy to clean and hose is nice and long.
Assembly was pretty easy - the crevice tool sticks out at an angle when put onto the base but it seems to stay put. The rotating main vacuum head is great for getting into corners and the multi level lowering capability helped reach under low tables and carpets.

Easy breezy, light weight, powerful sucking ability, easy to use attachments and economical. I usually purchase Dyson however my Dyson was having issues and I had company coming over, so I ran to Best Buy for a quick fix. Of course the salesperson tried their best to up sale despite telling him I already have a Dyson, have a budget, wasn’t going to just put a large sale on your Best Buy card and was in a time pinch. I am very glad I didn’t bend to his continuous attempts as it turned out to be an exceptional buy! Although my Dyson has been fixed it’s been sitting in the garage and this has become my main house vacuum.

If you are looking for a no frillls vacuum, this would be a satisfactory choice. But there are some issues that make it not the right choice for me. First, assembly is easy, just two screws, snap a couple pieces into place and you are ready to go to work. There are three accessories that come with this vacuum, a turbo head, a brush tool, and a crevice tool. And here are where the issues with this vacuum begin. The brush and turbo head have a place onboard the vacuum, but the crevice tool, although it has a place, does not fit in the designated place. You can see this in the photos included with this review. The second issue with this vacuum is the turbo head. I connected it to the hose to vacuum my couch, and as soon as I make contact with the upholstery the small roller inside quits spinning. It only worked one of my easy chairs. I have two dogs and was hoping this would work for me, but it is just a disappointment. The last real issue I have with this vacuum is the lack of lights. Every other vacuum I tested has onboard lighting which is a real big plus, this has none.
As far as power goes, it is very good, but it is a no frills upright vacuum. There are better choices that give you so much more at a similar price. The one thing that I do like, is the Fabreeze filter. It is scented and gives the room a nice fresh smell as you vacuum. Overall it is a decent upright vacuum, but there are better choices, so for me this just does not make the grade.

Cleans well, but has design flaws

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
So to begin assembly is quite simple. There's only two screws that attach the handle to the canister and base of this vacuum. When attaching the accessories and the tube, I found a serious design flaw.
There's a small attachment for a brush and then there's a longer narrow rubberized tube for helping get up pet hair. (as seen in picture attached) It twists to change how it works. One way it sucks everything up through the end of the tube. The other way has bristles and holes down the side for getting up dog hair and dirt as well while closing off the end piece. The attachment works great but when it comes to attaching it to the vacuum it's supposed to go on the back left side under the tube. The problem is there's no clearance for it to stay on because it hits the tubing.
I tried switching the shorter attachment to this position and put the longer attachment up behind the handle where the other tool holder attachment is but the hole that affixes to it is too loose and falls off. So you're left finding some place to store that piece off of the vacuum somewhere.
Another thing I wasn't fond of is how the tube attaches to the vacuum. Most vacuums I've used have some sort of clip to lock it in place to assure a good seal. But this vacuum simply slides over a male tubular part without locking it in place.
The pet attachment and brush worked great. Overall the vacuum cleans well I do like how it rotates and pivots instead of being the standard stuff straight up and down vacuum like most. Which definitely helps manipulating it to get where you want it without having to struggle so much.
Functionality is great. I really don't understand how that attachment location could be overlooked though.
