KICKS IROBOTS BUTT! OUR NEATO (AKA FRAN) HAS BEEN THE BEST OF HELP FOR MORE THAN A YEAR NOW. I WILL SAY IF YOU ARENT NECASSARILY TECH SAVY YOU COULD HAVE DIFFICULTY SETTING IT UP, IT WAS KIND OF COMPLICATED. I LIVE IN A 2500 SQ FT HOME AND IT GENERALLY CAN CLEAN THE WHOLE FLOOR IN ONE GO AROUND. ITS FAR MORE EFFICIENT THAN THE IROBOT ROOMBA AND DOESNT AIMLESSLY WONDER AROUND BOUNCING OFF FURNITURE AND WALLS. CATS DO FREAK OUT<--- ONLY COMPLAINT

Really impressed how well it works, especially with the "fencing" feature. Our home is not that big (about 1800 Sq Ft with 1/3rd hardwood floors), and there are only two of us with no pets, but it still takes two charges to complete the cleaning process. The only problem is that the bin fills about 3/4 of the way after the first round, so we have to empty it. Bottom line, we only run it while we are home. More expensive unit have larger bins, and one actually empties itself. Bottom line, we like it and it works for us.

Other than some occasional app issues, this robot has been great. My home has stayed significantly cleaner thanks to it. I only use my full size upright about once a month for a good deal clean and let the robot handle the daily maintenance of my floors. The large brushroll up front gets into corners better than my old round robot. The large dustbin is great, only have to empty every few days.

If you are in the house when this or any other robot vacuum is running, its annoying, but like all of the rest of them, this gets the job done. Honestly I had to fight with it to get it setup on my Wifi, but once I did, she runs like a champ!! Also, you have to be sure that you empty the trash bin and clean the filter before each use. At least once every 2 to 3 weeks, take the roller out and clean it with the tool that comes with it, especially if you have it cleaning carpets. Bottom line, keep the maintenance up on it for a great cleaning.

What an amazing product. Can I throw all of my other vacuums away....No, but I am crazy impressed with the capabilities so far. With two people working from home now and two dogs being all over the house when they would usually be in the back room while we were at work, dust and dog hair pile up quick. We have this run everyday and it continues to fill the bin with every trip. CLEANING UNDER OUR BED MAKES IT WORTH THE COST! It does have some downsides but still deserves 5 STARS. One bad thing is that the robot can not clean our smaller house (robot/app claims it cleans < 700 sq ft of a 950 sq ft house) on one charge even on eco mode but not really an issue since it takes itself back to the dock. Another bad thing is that the no go lines need to be easier to draw. I luckily have a tablet that I put the app on to blow up the map a little. Doing it on a cell phone is not really doable or accurate. The robot does a great job of outlining table legs, couch legs, etc so I know where I need to draw my lines, but the app is tough to draw on. Last bad thing is that I wish it had a reminder that the bin was full. Maybe I missed it somewhere but have not found anything. Maybe the higher up models have this. Being new I follow the thing around so I always remember to empty the bin but I worry once it just becomes something that happens on a daily basis I will forget to empty it. I don't even need it to know that it is full. Just some sort of I'm finished cleaning might want to empty the bin type reminder. Overall very impressed. I have horrible buyers remorse with most purchases and this D4 is worth every penny.

Overall good smart vac. It takes several runs before a map can be saved. Just plan and be carefull when setting no go lines.

Purchased this on the recommendation of my Daughter-in-Law. For the sale price of $299, this unit works well. While the battery life could be longer, we have had little or no trouble with it vacuuming when it is scheduled. We are impressed with the amount of dirt it picks up. I would not pay the retail price for this unit as others are out there in the $500 price range with some additional, but not necessary, added features. At $299, this is the unit to buy.

First, the only reason I gave it four stars is because it does not have the side brush that the D5 and up have. We have two dogs, two cats and a teenage son. We like to leave the doors open. I've always considered our floor part of a forest floor...impossible to keep up with. Besides being entertaining, our D4 handles it all. We've had to move some wires and raise some furniture so Tom (his name) can get under them. It is AMAZING how clean the floors are. My only advice is to bump up to a D5. I can see how that little side brush cleans better.

I have about 2200sq ft home and the battery life on D4 doesn’t cover that. It has to recharge several times before completing. Taking half a day to complete. D4 doesn’t clean that well either, Especially along the edges. I exchanged it for the D7!! Must say the D7 is night and day compared to this one. Everything about the D7 is superior and cleaner way better. I recommend spending the extra funds on D7

Had the D4 about 1 month now and so far I am very happy. I have another non-connected Neato 80 that I have used for years to do my kitchen/dinette area so I was familiar with what to expect. I use the D4 to vacuum my carpeted den, master bedroom, and tiled master bath. It made a map the first time it ran I love that it vacuums in a logical pattern with no missed areas. Once I figured out how to connect it to my wifi (use the app procedure) it seems to hold the connection well and reconnects on it's own if it gets out of range in the back of the house or if you turn your wifi off and on. I have 2 dogs and the Neatos running every day or every other day save me a lot of work. I will say that when I took it out of the box I could not get it to charge or turn on but I discovered that the battery connector had not been pushed down firmly at the factory. I might buy another when on sale again to replace the Bobsweep I try to use upstairs.

This is definitely a must have it is a great vacuum this is an upgrade from the D3 model the difference is the D4 offers the no go lines so you no longer need those boundary lines that were needed to be laid around the house. My D3 broke and they no longer carry it so they gave me the D4 which is just as good. I am definitely happy with this model as well!

This vacuum has been great. The best selling point are the virtual no-go lines that let you restrict where the vacuum goes without using towers, or magnetic tape, or any of that other stuff that shouldn't be necessary in 2020. Had an irobot, and returned it because it left large areas of the house uncleaned. It still happens on rare occasion with the Neato, but overall it is a much more consistent, accurate clean.

I was skeptical at first cause the app seemed like it wasnt gonna work, but it finally did! The floor plan finished and now its operating fine. Just buy it on sale when less tha $300. Battery life is only about an hour and whenniys a big house it goes back to charge but it does resume afterwards.

This D4 took over the main floor from a model XV Neato. It maps, cleans (gets more dirt than it's predecessor), and navigates obstacles much better than the XV. It also gets itself unstuck much better, too. We even cleaned the floor from out of state and received an updated map.

This is the second Neato that I have in use. While basically the same bot as my older one the addition of the mapping and no go lines makes this a lot easier to use. Enhanced features are controlled by the app and not a tiny screen as with its predecessor.

Works great in my one bedroom apartment, I purchased this vacuum almost a year ago while it was on sale. Have it scheduled to come out twice a week. Does a great job plus sends me a text/picture of the cleaning map when its done. No issues to report after almost a year of weekly use

We've had previous Neato models so it took awhile to get used to not having a screen on this one. It also took a few uses before it consistently began doing cleaning runs without interruption. But now it runs nearly flawlessly, and does a surprisingly thorough cleaning. Very pleased with this upgrade.
