UA Megaboom This is a great sounding speaker. This is being used in an Operating Room. Lots of other very loud equipment and this has no problem being heard over all that background noise. In fact where you put the speaker can affect the max volume (see below). Waterproof: This is being used in a surgical setting and it is wiped down 5-6 times a day without any effect to how the speaker sounds. Sound: The treble is great and the bass is good. The closer you put it to a wall the better the bass gets. A corner wall is even better. The 360 degree speakers bounce and the sound is even better. Battery: After 1 month the battery life is fantastic. My 1st charge lasted for over 30 hours. Not sure if it will keep that up. When battery needs to be charged it will actually tell you. You will hear a female voice say "battery critical". Nice touch that. I have not tried it with another UA speaker for the " 1 touch" stereo affect. If it as good as this one it will be fantastic though. It has a hook on the bottom that just screws in to the base on the speaker. That is my only concern. If it comes unscrewed while hanging from something at the beach or pool, ect ect. A better way to attach a D-ring to hang it would take that worry away. I see that there are cases that will also remedy this issue. Not sure if those cases will effect the sound though. Though the price $299 is expensive it feels to me well worth the money. It is well built and lives up to all of its descriptions and specifications. I highly recommend this speaker. You will not be disappointed.

So after my Beats Pill XL was recalled, I searched for a comparable replacement. First tried the Bose Sound link 3. If you only like to listen to music at half volume then this will be great for you. If you're like me and like to have the option of playing your music loud, don't even bother with the Bose Soundlink 3. Needless to say, I returned it less than 24hrs of purchasing it. Next up was the UE Mega Boom. From the moment you are taking this speaker out of the packaging to the moment you hear it playing, you can tell alot of thought and planning went into this product. The sound quality is great on this speaker. Has good highs, mids, and enough bass. This speaker can get pretty loud and all while sounding good. There is an app that allows you to adjust the sound the way you want it with a custom equalizer. You can also turn the speaker on and off with the same app. The app gives you the option to par two mega booms or even a mega boom with boom together. The battery life is really good, 20+ hrs of play time (all depends on the volume you're playing your music at of course). Factor all of those things in with the fact this thing is water proof and you have yourself one of the best portable speaker out on the market today.

I picked up mine for $147+ tax. Worth every penny. I've had an original Boom for a few years now and have wanted one of these since they came out. Now that the Megablast is out the prices have been dropping. Sounds great, carries well outdoors, has good range with Bluetooth... Battery lasts for infinity... Unless you're pushing full blast, which is too loud if you're wanting to talk to people too, then it easily lasts all day. Original $300 asking price was a bit high in my opinion. More suited to the Megablast with the integrated wifi and Alexa. But now that you can find this one under $200 it's a steal. I bring it in the shower with me, to the pool, etc. My only complaint is that it when I pair it with my original Boom the smaller speaker cuts out a lot. My problem may not be shared by others, since I can't find much online about it, but it is a thing that happens consistently. If I could fix that it'd be perfect. But the megaboom alone is enough for most situations anyway.

Worked great for 2 years but now it quit working and won't charge

For a bluetooth speaker this speaker has really excellent sound quality. For its size it has excellent bass. Battery life is excellent too. Between this and the UE Boom, I'd say its worth the extra $100 for the bass, battery life, waterproofing and extra bluetooth range.

I bought the Megaboom and the Bose Soundlink III because I narrowed my choices down to those. In the end the Megaboom won. Features like 20hrs of use over 12-14 with the Bose. Water proof down to 6ft, Bose not waterproof, the UE app allows you to see the battery level of the speaker on your phone and adjust the EQ settings, no such thing with the Bose. Sound? This thing rocks. Outdoor by the pool at half volume this thing blows the Bose away. Decent bass, but still better than the Bose. Sound quality is better on the UE, the highs are sharper and more crisp than the Bose. Since I'm an audiophile I thought the Bose would win in the small BT speaker category, but it just can't hang with the Megaboom.

Great speaker with full range performance, water resistant, Bluetooth compatible to iPhone for playlist & phone calls. Very portable and fast charging, I have played several hours of music on a single charge with no problems, works great on my boat, may buy another to add to system so I can have one on flybridge as well as lower level.

Luckily I have extended warranty because it won’t recharge-no blinking light to warn of low battery and after plugging in the recharging cable for 24 hours-still the red warning light of low charge. Now comes the adventure of contacting/setting up a appointment to “ geek” the problem. Not looking forward to tomorrow.

If you are looking for a bluetooth speaker, this is the one to buy. I HIGHLY recommend this product. I have used this speaker everywhere and it hasn't failed me yet. The pool is a great place to listen to your music and with this speaker I can tune my computer to any internet music station I want and take my speaker outside to enjoy the music. I has long range and never looses connection. The waterproof feature is great, I have submersed and splashed the speaker all day long and it still works great. It is very portable and puts out a super loud sound with no distortion. great for taking to picnics, family reunions, beach, or even the office. I would give this product more stars if I could and I think everyone looking for a speaker should buy one of these - they are AWESOME!

The Megaboom wireless speaker is perfect for backyard pool entertainment. It is more volume than you will ever need. If you dont agree buy two because they can be used together with one bluetooth device. The Megaboom has great sound quality and its also waterproof, just incase it happens to get wet near the pool. The social feature lets multiple people connect via blue tooth to increase the variety of music available from multiple guests play lists. Well worth the cost. I'm very satisfied.

This is the Bluetooth speaker I have been waiting for. It has big sound, booming bass, and can fill up a room (or your back yard). It is a snap to set up, and the battery lasts an eternity. I love that this unit is waterproof, so I can take it outside and listen while barbecuing or entertaining without worrying about weather or accidental spills. The design is well thought out. The accompanying app is simple to use. Setup is a breeze. The only knock is the price, but the sound is so big and so full, and the bass is so booming. I almost bought a second to try out the true stereo pairing, but I couldn't justify the cost with the sound of a single unit being so good.

The market team didn't develop the name Megaboom for no reason. This little guy packs some major power that is clear and loud! This at it's max setting still delivers. Other speakers units tend to distort at a certain high level but this little guy will leave you impressed. With the MegaBoom being water resistant and shock resistant you can take it anywhere and not have to worry. I personally added a D ring that I keep in the case When I need to hang it. UE put some major thought into developing this. Don't let the price tag scare you to a cheaper brand, you'll regret it later with all the functionalities this thing brings. More than once this little guy has been the topic of conversion leaving the party goers as impressed as I was. Then the 20 hr battery life has kept the party going night after night one the same charge. Don't forget to add their app to your phone for the ultimate experience. You can control the whole unit from your phone and see the battery life. The app also gives you the option to use it as an alarm clock. Now you can't tell your boss that you slept through your alarm with the power of this thing going off across the room. Once again UE thought of everything in developing this. So don't let the price tag scare you off because this thing is in a league of its own and won't leave you disappointed!

The Megaboom highs and mid range are amazing and the base is decent for a small speaker. The bluetooth range is great, and I got 22 hours of battery life on the first charge. Used it in our office break room large enough for 60 people and I was very please with the volume and clarity. Have to love the remote power control via the Megaboom app. I have the UE Boom also and the Megaboom is definitely worth the cost difference. Well thought our design, it lives up to the manufactures specs and other reviews.

This speaker provides excellent sound in a portable package. It's durable, waterproof and the battery lasts long. True 360 sound so you can place and hear it anywhere... nice bass as well. I did have one woofer rattle on my original purchase (hence only the 4 stars) so I exchanged for a new unit and so far so good.

I bought both the Boom and Megaboom and compared them and frankly I couldn't find enough to justify the extra $100 for the Megaboom. I ended up returning it for another Boom. Don't get be wrong, its a great speaker, but so is its baby brother, the Boom, and its cheaper. Both exceed the battery life stated by the manufacturer, and both produce loud awesome sound. The Megaboom is water-proof but the Boom is only water-resistant, regardless I have no plans to stick expensive electronics in any substantial amount of water. I gave it 5 stars because it is genuinely a great device regardless of price. You can't go wrong with the Boom or Megaboom, ultimately it comes down to how much you are willing to spend.

I have several. They're durable and waterproof. They sound really good, especially when more than one are on at a time. They do NOT sound as good as my Harmon Kardon, but I wanted to be able to connect multiple speakers at a time which you can't do with the HK. BIG downside for me is the difficulty I have with the party up app. Has been EXTREMELY difficult getting all the speakers to connect and play. Very frustrating. Usually I eventually get them all to play, but it takes a LONG time, every time I try. For the price (I bought before recent price drop), they should work MUCH better than they do. If you need durable, waterproof, portable and want to (in theory, if it works...) connect multiple speakers at a time, these are you best bet. If you need a single bt speaker or even 2, without the other bells and whistles , look at the Harmon Kardon.

This is a great speaker for indoors and outdoors, high quality sound with plenty of bass. I use this speaker mainly outdoors for music while swimming or gatherings in my backyard, and best part is I don't have to worry about the speaker being splashed by the kids while swimming, when I have it placed by my pool. I have also paired it with another Megaboom that my sister-n-law has for double the sound for the bigger parties that I have had. When ever someone hears it or sees it they can't believe the sound it generates for the size, they always comment saying they thought it was coming from a big speaker.

Great sound, very loud for the size. Battery life is excellent and the bluetooth works very well. It's a little pricey, but has awesome durability thus far and is weather proof compared the the Beatz speaker for about the same price. Can't wait buy another and pair the 2.

This is by far one of the best speakers I've heard! I got this because my friends boom sounded amazing! Got this big boi and wow! Just wow! Sound quality is amazing and it has good bass! Really fills a room with the 360 speaker! It's also really durable. If you drop it it's good and it's waterproof! Huge plus. I would recommend this over a bose any day and don't get me wrong I love bose but I think HE is way better! Great gift ideas!

Great and loud sound quality, including much better bass than previous portable Bluetooth speakers. Waterproof and fairly rugged yet still attractive and practical design now makes shower and outdoor use practical. Modern easily upgradable software. Size and weight still easily portable, and I doubt you will find any speaker any smaller that equals the overall sound quality. Only negative is the the price, but this one does it all and is worth it.
