This is the best option in the market for a portable, water-resistant, bluetooth 4.0 speaker (until july/2015). You will hear a deep bass but the internal speakers are 180o angled, and you need to work with accoustics: put the speaker near 90o angled walls will deliver the best loud sounds. You can use in the outdoors with long range bluetooth connection and ever put near the pool or use in the shower: really funny for a party or relaxation. This "UE" brand is a Logitech company, what means great quality hardware. Bottom line: this product redefines the portable speakers quality and features. I am sure you will appreciate the buy.

This portable speaker has got great sound. Ideally it would be about $50 less than current price but certainly worth it. I use this for a wide range of listening needs and it does indeed fill a normal sized room with warm and full sound. Great bass. I was able to test out with a friend who has one and he highly recommended. It has great range with no connection problems when I am on a different floor of my house. The small foot print is nice. If you are hovering between this and the smaller version choose this . Another great feature is the ability to add another unit for full stereo sound and multiple rooms.

i purchased my EU Megaboom back in June. I had done a lot of research looking for a speaker that had great sound and also one that I didn't have to worry about if it was to get wet. The design of this speaker is awesome! Even though it is not tiny, the shape makes it easy to carry around. I was a little concerned about spending $300 for a Bluetooth speaker. But once I turned it on and heard the full quality sound I was hooked. The only issue I have had is occasionally the speaker will not sync correctly with my phone as far as the volume level goes. There have been a couple instances where my phone would show it is playing at 100% and the speaker can barely be heard. This is more of a software problem and not a quality of the speaker problem.

I couldn't believe my ears the 1st time I listened to this great speaker. I am a Bose fan normally but they just don't have anything to compare to this with similar features (waterproof). The sound is full, crisp, clear, and with ample bass at all volume levels. It's even loud enough to overcome the surf noise while at the beach. Since it's waterproof, its ideal for any outdoor situation and will play for hours on a single charge. I would highly recommend this speaker.

Weather playing it softly or cranking it, it sound awesome! Great base response and overall full sound. The bluetooth connection is very stable and has excellent range. Also, it takes forever to wear the battery down. Wish my phone was like that. On top of all that it is water proof and has a good carrying case. I plan to get another one because you can connect two and play in stereo. My only complaint is it does not come with full instructions. the website has great tips though. I at first was only able to connect one device, but found out how to connect more on their website.

This is an attractive, rather large speaker. I would suggest a case to carry it when traveling. The sound is clear, crisp with ample bass. The volume is greater than my UE Boom and will fill a typical 30x30 space well. The downloadable app is great mostly to monitor battery life. It also allows for EQ options. The standard option is most impressive to me. Overall, it is a great speaker for its sound, volume and battery life. The purple and black are sexy on this thing. It's even more stimulating when you get it on sale.

I bought this speaker because it was $150 off, and I had been needing a decent waterproof speaker to use in my hot tub. I was somewhat surprised with the quality of this product. The sound is fantastic, especially considering the price, and it paired seamlessly with my phone right away. The first time I used it, the puppy knocked it off the edge of the hot tub into the water and it didn’t miss a beat. I own an older model Bose speaker which had been my primary speaker for outdoor activities. That speaker has been fantastic but I’m considering replacing it with this UE speaker, especially if I decide to purchase another speaker for the pairing capabilities. I also own a much smaller JBL speaker which I use on hiking/backpacking trips, which I will not be replacing. This UE speaker is much too heavy and bulky for that purpose, but I will definitely consider another product from UL when it comes time to replace my smaller speaker.

I've never been disappointed by a bluetooth speaker from UE. Water-proof, sleek, durable, great battery life, well built, responsive, unique and most importantly good sounding. Excellent value, but only when on sale.

The UE-Megaboom speaker does everything I wanted a Bluetooth speaker to do and more. It was super easy to pair with my phone and combined with the app from the play store, it's perfect. The speaker is easy to use, sounds great, has plenty of volume with minimum distortion, good Bluetooth distance, is water proof, and has a battery life of 20 hours! Download the free app and use your device to turn in on and off, control the volume, change songs, check battery life, use the equalizer, and pair multiple phones. What more could you ask for?

I’ve had a UE Boom 1 for years now. It has been fantastic to have and use, so much so that I’ve now purchased a UE MEGABOOM. Like it’s smaller but older cousin, this thing is great. It’s loud, sounds great, battery last forever, and is easy to bring along. The only con I can point out is that the bass is a little lacking but it’s better then the regular Booms. I purchased this on sale for $140usd, at that price this is a no brainer. At regular mark of $300 it’s a tougher sell.

This is my second Megaboom 1st/2nd gen I have owned and they are amazing. Very durable and loud. Lots of battery and base for the little speaker. It’s simple to use and has great range. Fits in my packs easy and is all terrain. Definitely recommend for those on the go and military life.

Purchased 2 of these amazing speakers. I use them all of the time out by our pool The quality of sound is excellent. I love the fact that they are water proof. My favorite thing about them is that you can easily link the 2 together for full surround sound experience. They are easy to connect via bluetooth. They hold a charge really well for hours and hours of use. I couldn't be happier. I would highly recommend this product to anybody who loves excellent sound and a quality product.

I have tried several of these BT speakers to include the Beats Pill, Sony, and Bose...this is by far the most well rounded one of them all. It is water resistant, 360 degree sound, and is portable and light. I am a professional photographer and I take it with me on shoots to play music for my clients. It keeps them loose and relaxed for the session. I love this device! GREAT Purchase.

Bought this speaker as a birthday gift for my 18yr old daughter. Sound qualify is fantastic and the battery life is very long. The fact that the speaker is also waterproof is a great plus. She uses this speaker, on lower volumes, in our home and she also takes this speaker with her to outdoor volleyball practices where the speaker is plenty loud for outdoor use. Although this speaker is on the larger size, it's still the perfect size to take with you.

This Bluetooth speaker has it all! Extra tuff water proof outer shell, with super bass and ultra high notes. Very long life rechargeable battery. You can turn the music up extra loud for outdoor use.It also sounds very professional with the music turned down indoors as well.

Upside: The UE Megaboom is even louder and has fuller bass than its earlier version. It is waterproof, has upgraded Bluetooth range, better battery life. It is a super solid choice if you are looking for a great option for portable, great sounding audio. The tap to play feature is super convenient, you can skip songs by tapping the button vs. searching for your phone. The UE app is easy to use it really compliments the functionality of the speaker and all the features packed into this speaker. Downside: I honestly can’t think of one! So…The UE Megaboom Bluetooth speaker is a great sounding, durable Bluetooth speaker. Compared to the previous version, this one has a larger size, bigger sound (particularly on bass), far better waterproofing and a longer battery life.

This is easily the best portable Bluetooth speaker under $300. The last one I had was a Bose Sounlink mini and the Megaboom is ten times better, the sound quality, volume and battery live are just awesome. I use it with my iPhone and the app enables you to setup the speaker as an alarm and tweak the sound using the equalizer. Over the Fourth of July my brother was in town with is Megaboom and we were able to double them up for full stereo sound. We took them to the lake and didn't think twice about them getting wet. One of the reasons I wanted this speaker was to be able to use it at the pool or lake and not worry about damaging it. Bestbuy price matched Amazon's price which is an added bonus.

This speaker is amazing. It sounds like 360 music to your ears. It has great highs and great lows. The bass in this is marvelous coming out of a cylinder. Plus it's water proof. I shower with mine every day. Plus it has an app for extra features. I'm going to bug a second one to pair both as stereo sound. U will love this sound compared to other speakers at this price range. Beats are trash

I purchased this speaker after reading many reviews. I purchased a second one about 6 months after my initial purchase. The sound quality is among the best that I've heard in Bluetooth speakers. It fit my needs for quality sound in a design that would work outside. Each speaker has a mounting hook for hanging.. I like being able to control the speaker from my phone. I gave the 4-star rating due to the UE Megaboom app. When I initially set up my phone, it all worked well. However, app and firmware updates took away the ability to turn the speaker on remotely.
