Easy to set up, easy to operate, pretty noiseless, and lovely to look at. Plus you don't have to dust rotating blades. It also functions as an air filter and that's a plus. The filter alerts when it needs to be replaced....I have 3 of these fans and the Dyson filters in each last about a year as I keep them on year-round. It is sturdy, functional and terrific.

I’m a huge fan (no pun intended) of Dyson products, and took the leap with shelling out a few hundred for this item as I really liked the idea of having a purifier and fan combo and also with the expectation it would be a powerful fan. I was a bit disappointed to discover you can’t run the purifier without running the fan but aside from that the purifier seems to run well. The fan is where I have issue - it’s not nearly as powerful as I was expecting for the price & being Dyson. Sitting only 5 feet away, i can barely feel the fan when on levels 1-5. From 6-up I can feel it, but it gets loud & I honestly think my $60 tower oscillating fan works better. Unfortunately, given that I just realized the store has only a 15-day return window , so I’m stuck with it. Hoping I will feel differently when the summer temperatures start!

The included filter sits at the base of the machine, and filters the air that enters into your unit. As a result, it would not be possible to switch between purifier or fan, as the functionality would be all in one. That said, Dyson Pure Cool™ purifying fans will be a powerful fan, engineered to provide you with a steady and smooth stream of air. Each of the machines have the option of increasing the speed of the air expelled from the machine, which is adjusted with the remote control. You'll also be happy to know that when used in conjunction with an air conditioner, Dyson air purifiers may be used to circulate cold air further and faster making them great for use in the summer time. Is it a necessity? Egh not really. It looks cool, it works as advertised. I like the ergonomics of it. Am I noticing a difference? I don’t think so?! Am I happy with my purchase, yes, probably?! But in all reality, Dyson knows how to make quality products. I am now contemplating the desk light.
