When I first got the controller I thought it was a bit bulky. But after playing it for a week my hands got used to it and it was a great controller. I loved the two buttons on back of controller and loved the overall feel of the controller.
Then came the problem. I play Destiny and the sprint button is by clicking down L3. After using controller for a week the L3 button became bugged. I would sprint and then immediately stop sprinting. As though the controller received an input to stop. So I swapped the L3 and R3 buttons. Worked for about a day and then started doing it again. Researched the problem online and it was a pretty common one. So I returned the controller. Until they fix that problem (maybe with a v2 of the controller) it was a deal breaker for me. I couldn’t sprint in a game that sprinting was a very common thing.

Feels like a quality controller and everything works great except some stick drift every once in awhile, which I read in others reviews.
Still Worth buying....if heavy gamer I recommend having a back up stick on deck. I have a scuff as well and when I have issues its 3 weeks without a controller, so thats what I bought this for is a back up, but i find i use this as a main controller now and the scuff is a back up. I love programming the keys and having multiple set ups for different games while being easy to use. Only flaw is you cannot start your playstation with it.

I have done my research on all the "custom" controllers and I own a Battle Beaver and now a Astro. The Battle Beaver is my favorite because of buttons and ergonomics of how it fits in my hand. The back buttons feel better and the trigger stops are not stops they are like pushing a button. The only problem is that they last about 6 months before something happens with the thuimbsticks. Scuff if you research those they are 100% marketing there product and the product itself just doesn't hold up. $20 every month or so on average for new paddles and sticks.
The customization of this controller when plugged into the computer is what puts this controller above the rest. You can customize every aspect. If I could merge the Battle Beaver and Astro it would be perfect. It has not died on me yet.

I've purchased this beefy controller and it's the best one I have used to date! I use this from my pc to ps4 and it just works with no visible lag wirelessly. This thing is built tough and is meant to last. The two buttons in the back are really convenient for racing games and others that you would require you to move your thumb to the button pads.

I can’t say enough good things about this controller. That’s a lot to love and a lot to get used to. First and foremost it’s a little wider than your DD4 or the Scuff series (competitor got Astro). But I feel the build quality is much higher. The controller is very weighted and the triggers are very responsive. The sticks are a bit loose, so again something to get used to, but the application (downloaded separately) is very nice. You can adjust trigger and stick sensitivity, while also tracking an drift that might be happening. But the controller’s ability to reset the sticks to factory is remarkable fixing any oddity you may encounter. The back buttons are so nice, when using a DS4, I reach for them to no avail. Battery life is wonderful, but it’s important to actually turn off the controller. You have to hold down the power button on the controller for 10 seconds, The light will flash and it’s off, otherwise you’ll nuke the battery quick. All in all, one of the best purchases I’ve made.

Got this for my husband and he said: Cons: Can't turn on my PS4 from the controller. Software has issues and no battery gauge. Only know when it's about to die by sound. Sticks are good but don't seem long lasting. Stick drift happens. But most of these issues can be fixed.
Pros: Definitely high quality material, feels and plays great. Most issues can be resolved. Love the amount of features especially for this price. Most bang for your buck. Very dynamic controller. Lots of customization available down to the software.

The buttom feedback is instant and helps a lot in games like for honor when timing is important. Havent had any problems. Battery life is about 9 hours give or take. Only issue is, you have to use the usb transmitter provided which isn't great with the ps4 pro because you only get 2 usb ports. I cannot use my wireless turtle beaches, extended hard drive, and controller at the same time. The controller and hard drive does not work with a usb splitter. For the price its decent but not really worth it.

I bought this controller to play on my PC and it works better than my Xbox Elite controller. It only has two back buttons, but they are much more comfortable than the Elite controller. It can be used on the PC and with a Playstation. It cannot be used with an Xbox console. The buttons can be easily swapped to give you a Xbox or Playstation controller fill to your liking. The only downside is the cost of $200. I believe it is worth it if you are serious gamer.

When I first saw this controller advertised I was excited for finally being able to get a an an Ed controller for my PS4. My experience with the major 3rd party controller company has been poor so I want something else
The good:
Comfortable to hold, customizable with which button does what & where you place the D pad and joysticks (for example, you can configure as an Xbox layout if you prefer). The back paddles are easy to grip & trigger stop quick change based on the game mode needs (some games, particularly racing games, don’t work well with trigger stops enabled). Battery life is pretty good too
The bad:
Even though this is a PS4 supported accessory, you can’t turn on or off the console from the controller. You also can’t see the battery level from the menu either. No warning when batt is low so multiple times mid-game it’s died on me. My first controller, purchased near release, had both joysticks lose responsiveness. Drift on one and studdering on the other. Thankfully BestBuy's extended warranty covered me and I got a brand new one.
If you’re looking for a upgrade over the default controller this is your best option. Hopefully they fixed the quality issues and the other issues can be fixed with a software update.

95% of the issues I’ve seen people having with this controller are 100% USER ERROR. People completely ignoring the software. For example, The Division 2 is unfortunately not trigger stop friendly.. Instead of calling the product trash and returning it like most other people will carelessly do, I went into the software and tweaked my trigger sensitivities! Amazing! Works flawlessly. And all I had to do was use my brain, instead of blaming this awesome product.
I love everything about it. It’s extremely comfortable and ergonomic. I love the weighted feel. It stops my pinky and ring fingers from curling like on the DS4, which has made a noticeable difference in hand cramping.
This is my first ‘pro’ controller, so getting used to the rear buttons were my hardest battle. But the remapping is so easy and intuitive that I made tweaks on both profiles MID-GAME without missing a beat. Maybe just a single beat, BUT STILL. No magnet to keep track of.
I have only had one, very brief, issue. For a second my L3 stopped working. Did a reset, again MID GAME, and haven’t dealt with it since. Took me 15 seconds and I was back at it.
I highly recommend it. I purchased the replacement plan, being the biggest issue with these controllers is there expected lifetime.
Astro is extremely active in the community too. Check on Reddit and you’ll see a rep there helping with all their products. Tons of info you can use.

Feels tough and durable. Swade like grip is a little iffy in ones hand but manageable. It quite large compared to regular controller so one would need to adjust. Module customization is great. Customizable rear bumper are good for smoother game play. Would have preferred In depth customization like mapping two distinct button command into on instead of just one but that's just me

Comfortable controller. Nice to Be able to adjust settings to your style of gaming by assigning each button and the sensitivity of the joysticks response time. Little bit involved with first set -up once you have completed that part it’s actually very simple process. Thought it’s a little over priced hopefully that will come down a little. But to the true gamer not an issue.

I prefer the feel of this as well as the setup and size over the Elite controller. However I've had 3, all lasted about 1 year each. I'd recommend this only if you don't mind swapping it out every year. For durability, I'd recommend going with the Microsoft Elite V2.

Although the price may be steep for most, this is hands down the best PS4 controller out there. A definite buy for any competitive FPS players.
Outside of the quality build and how comfortable the controller is in my hands, the ability to swap the left stick from inline to offset really makes a difference. I have always liked the feel of the Xbox Elite controller offset sticks and this controller is the best option for Playstation owners. And if you prefer to have the sticks inline for other game genres, swapping the sticks back is extremely simple.
Would recommend this controller to anyone who is serious about both comfort and competitive play.

I've actually owned this controller before and I had to get rid of it because I needed the money at the time. It was so hard to let go, but I was determined to get another one when I could afford to. It's pricey but an awesome pro controller, better than anything you'd get elsewhere for PlayStation. Great battery life, great connectivity, low input lag with wired or wireless gameplay and great quality. It feels like a solid pro controller, like it's worth the $200. The only cons are it requires a USB dongle and it won't turn on your PS4 (which no pro controller option outside of modded pro controller will do anyway),but it's not a deal breaker. It beats Scuf through and through. I'd recommend this over everything else.

If you're a gamer, the first thing you will notice about this control is that it's rather large. If you have smaller hands, you may struggle with it.
It's responsive and feels good. Really for the first 2+ weeks I had no issues with it at all. Then the stick issues happened. Fewer than 3 weeks passed before I had INSANE stick drift in my right stick, and the button (L3) of my of my left stick only worked some of the time. These are things that tend to happen to controls over time, but to happen so soon is ridiculous. Games are nearly unplayable currently, when my FPS characters can't help but constantly look at their feet because the stick drift goes downward.
Astro's customer service has acted fast and is sending new stick modules without any hesitation or question, but I'm now worried that my $200 ($240 with the BBY extended plan) will need replacement stick modules every month.

It’s really big. I have big hands and this thing is big. Wasn’t a fit for me. It did feel premium. However, it did lack in some areas. Can’t turn the PS4 on with it. That would just be a software issue, hopefully. Other than that. It was ok. I would put $200 elsewhere though. Battle beavers or Scuff.

I really just wanted to get the PS4 back button attachment, but since it was sold out literally everywhere, I decided to spend 180 bucks on a controller. I don't regret the decision at all. It's now almost 5 months in with near daily use and it has held up wonderfully! The back buttons work great and I love being able to switch profiles on the fly with trigger stops and twitch settings for shooters, to more precise full range settings for racing games! The big draw for me was being able to offset the analog sticks, which helped ease stress on my left thumb. The controller has a great heft to it and feels really solid!
