I love these headsets, I was able to grab them during sales.
But it keeps me wondering whether I should have gone for the cheaper wireless alternatives, I know this is a high end headset but on the other head you can probably pay less and cut the wires.
But again no complaints from the headset itself, the mixamp is nice so that I don't have to run the wire from the top of my tower, I can plcae the mixamp wherever I want and that almost gives me wireless kinda flexibility.
I just wish these were a little bit cheaper, but again if these can last me years then I guess the price is well worth it.

So my husband got a pair for gaming at home I got my headset for my job because I’m required to wear a headset for 10 hours straight. My ears do not hurt, they are super comfortable, and it fits around my industrial piercing beautifully.
A must buy.

*Cue Rihanna's song* So I recently was thrown into the market for a new headset yet again. I've been an avid user of Turtle Beach products since Xbox360. Note I play both Xbox, Playstation, and sometimes PC. When I moved to the PS3 I got a new headset and continued to upgrade whenever my old pair would break. However, I noticed recently the quality of Turtle Beach's products just isn't the same. I started to notice this around the release of COD Advanced Warfare. From that point forward it seems the quality just went to the pits on budget-friendly headsets. I finally bit the bullet after experiencing two pairs of headsets for my PS4 breaking in the same area and having to be replaced by Turtle Beach to upgrade to another headset. So I purchased the Pro's by Turtle Beach. They were fine starting out though a little tight, but I guess that was to give the almost noise-canceling feel. I had them for about two years and I did notice them deteriorating over time. Plastic just started to pop off no reason etc.
So I sat down and started looking at headsets. Note I've tried other brands like Razen but they weren't comfortable to me. I saw everyone raving about Astro's and I had watched them for years but thought they were just too expensive. I decided to purchase these and it's literally a whole new world. The sound is crisp and clear. It's also very balanced. Bass is present but it's not overly muddy. The quality amazed me as I could literally hear bullets wiz by in COD Modern Warfare and also could hear footsteps really well. My K/D even improved and now I see why some people are so good. If you can hear enemies coming you can properly prepare for a gunfight. If you can't they'll sneak up on you every time. For me, these were worth the money. We'll see over time if they last but as sturdy as they feel and their construction I think I have a winner.
Lastly some tips. Make sure you fully seat the cables. I had the issue of only hearing sound in the left ear and found I hadn't fully seated the 3.5mm cable on the headset. It's the same thing with the mic, make sure it's fully seated. Lastly, the mic mute is an inline slider on the cable.

I love this headset so much, I got one for my girlfriend. Now she loves it too! They’re very comfortable and sound amazing. You can also use them on both ps5 and pc which made them a no brainier because I game on both.

Love it, can pinpoint in FPS like no other plus the mixamp is just icing on the cake for on the fly adjustment. I did have some problems setting it up (fortnite) since the instructions don't apply to every game but I eventually got it right for my PC by using the optical cable even though it says it's not necessary. The only reason I deducted a star is one, the headset feels cheap/flimsy the mixamp though feels like a tank. Also it's a "Tournament Ready" set and requires more money to complete technically complete and for some reason they made the mod mic heavier so it droops. I got it 50 off and still feel that's a lot but I like it.

I have the previous version of the Astro 40TRs and I absolutely love them. Their sound is amazing with the open back design opening the soundstage and adding a great deal of spatial details. This new version sounds even better and the mix amp is preferable to me with the dials left and right as opposed to top and bottom. It allows for a more horizontal footprint in my particular setup. They are very pricey so if you have the old ones and think they are fine; stay with them. I had $400 burning a hole in my pocket so I bought them. If you don’t have a pair and you can afford them, they be the last ones you’ll NEED to buy for a long, long time!

Great headset! This is the third Astro headset I’ve owned. Very high quality. Extremely comfortable for long gaming sessions. Sound quality is great! No issues there. Only issue I experienced was when I was in a party chat with my friends. They would complain that my mic would cut out when I spoke. Same thing happened when I owed the previous Gen of the A40s. All I did was update the software on the mix amp through the Astro comand center. And I haven’t had an issue since then. I’m very happy with this purchase!

Astro headsets are the go-to brand in our house (A40 & A50). They sound great and are more durable than ones that cost slightly less and with their lower costs than in the past and sales more offen than not you really can’t go wrong.

I have to admit I’m a little biased toward these headphones because I have been using the Astro line for years with few issues. I am bitter about having to buy these headphones, however, because the previous Astro A40TRs don’t work with PS5, not if you want the ability to mute yourself, anyway. Yes, even with the adapter, which you also need for these headphones. The headphones themselves work fantastic as always, but I genuinely feel like an old-time switchboard operator trying to alternate these headphones between PC and PS5. There’s got to be a better way to get peripherals to work for a newer console without an excessive amount of cordage.

I have been using this headset for quite awhile now, and it sounds amazing! I've used it on both my PS4 and my rig. Its quality is amazing, they're comfortable, you can control your audio however you want at the turn of a nob, and they work Great! But you MUST follow the instructions in order to turn down the chat/game volume. This is NOT a "plug and play" device where they will work immediately as advertised! you must follow the instructions on the manual that is provided!
