I was looking for a cheaper replacement for my Dyson stick. It is not at all like a Dyson stick, but I love it anyway. It collects dirt so close to the wall...it has the suction of my big Dyson, but its much smaller. Fantastic for pet hair and on stairs. It has some great attachments for upholstery and tiny nooks and crannies in the car. The only draw back is that it is a little heavy.

One only need to look at Consumer Reports or any other product review site to realize that the Shark Stick Vacuums dominate the ratings. We currently own an ancient 25 year old Hoover Wind Tunnel which is still is going strong and a great vacuum for carpets but not really very good on hardwood floors and a 5 year old Dyson cordless which is good on the hardwood but not so much on carpet. Recently our daughter bought a Shark Rocket stick vac and we were impressed by its light weight, manueverability and its ability to clean both hard and soft surfaces equally well. Better, in fact, than either of our other two machines. However, the new APEX is like the Rocket on steroids. It does all jobs equally well and its suction ability is enough to lift some of our larger area rugs right off the floor. My wife and I keep our home very clean but one pass with the APEX confirmed that it not only cleans the surface dust but gets deep into the carpet fibers and lifts out hidden dust and debris. Impressive! It comes with a long 30' cord which makes for less plugging and unplugging and a host of attachments. It is a bit heavier than the Dyson but nowhere close to the Hoover. We've only owned it about a month but so far, but it's quite a nice machine that we hope will prove durable over the long run.

Its so easy to use; it gets under furniture and manuvers around things so easily. I like the fact I can click a button and detach the lightweight canister and it becomes a hand vac getting in small places or along baseboards, and then click, and Im vacuuming the carpet again. And then flip a switch, and Im vacuuming the vinyl floor instantly. So versatile. Vacuums well. Love it !

Replaced a previous Shark vacuum of 5 years. This picks up dirt and dust really well with strong suction; is a lot quieter than the previous model. Hair in the roller is not as large as a problem compared to other vacuums I've owned. Pretty lightweight for a full powered stick vacuum.

Three dogs, inside, hard wood floors, carpets, etc. This gets used A LOT. Does a great job. My daughter and I have long hair so I check it for build up to maintain the spinning at optimum. Pet hair is gone. Hubby has allergies so it is important it gets cleaned and this does the trick.

I have three Shelties and the long hair constantly getting wrapped in the brush roll on my Shark Navigator was driving me crazy. I would swiffer the whole house then vacuum to avoid having to stand there and cut out the hair every time. After a month using this I have had to pull some hair off the roll--and not very much! It works VERY well on their long hair! Pros: It's light weight, easy to maneuver, has a bright light, and can get under almost all my furniture. And the hair doesn't get wrapped! You can switch from carpet to hard floor mode instantly with the button on the handle, same with taking off the tube section for attachments. Comes apart and goes back together on the fly. Cons: It is not as powerful as my Navigator, so doesn't suck up as much as quickly. This one can't stand up without being leaned on something, but my Navigator fell over a lot too, so not much of a con. Dust cup is small, so much more frequent emptying. Overall very pleased with this model and highly recommend it.

Shark-APEX DuoClean Bagless Pet Handheld/Stick Vacuum-in Forest Mist Blue! I absolutely love this NEW Shark Vacuum Cleaner that I purchased on Christmas Eve, I used to own a old Shark Duo Vacuum cleaner; compared to this, this is like pushing air,It is so lightweight, absolutely great for anyone if you have health problems & need a light vacuum to push. Plus, it has the ability to suck up for example a spilled dry pile of cereal, & saves 5 minutes of sweeping time. :) Comes with 3 wonderful cleaning tool attachments, & multiple different others that you can purchase online for extra. The only couple of downfalls that I really don't like is how it doesn't come with a cleaning tool attachment bar holder on the vacuum "already;" in order to get one, you have to order one from www.shark.com. & the other thing is, is that it doesn't come with an extension wand; & hose. Other than that, it's an excellent vacuum for homes that have kids, pets or neither.

I am not sure what I was expecting out of this purchase but I'm not $300 worth of blown away. PROS: To be true, it is a good vacuum. I love the foam roller for hardwood floors and the cord length is more than enough. It has an ample supply of suction available. CONS: The motor and canister housing is a touch unruly. For upright standing storage, you must remove it from the top of the tube and place it in a hanging slot that sits lower on the tube. It is suspended by a hooked slot on the rear of the vacuum debris canister. One massive drawback that I have encountered with this design is that when doing this, enough pressure gets applied to the debris canister that it will separate the body of the vac from the canister at the seal. It's not a lot of separation, but it is enough to cause small amounts of wispy dust to fall out. This might seem like pedantic fault-finding to some, but from my perspective, when you spend $300 on a vacuum, this is a glaring design flaw that is frankly unacceptable at this price point and leads me to assume that dust probably has other ways of escaping once vacuumed up. SUMMARY: A good vacuum with a terrible price point.

Initially I was concerned about the base being so small, but I am more than pleased. The advantage is that I can get between tight spaces the swiveling motion is amazing! I no longer have to move my bed to vacuum underneath it. i can get under my end tables and dressers, too. the only concern I have is storing it. I haven't read all the instructions, however, the top piece is heavy and it will not stand up on it's own so I have to lay it down. It said something about a hook, but I believe you have to buy it or at least mine didn't come with one. Other than that i highly recommend it. This is my 3rd Shark product and they keep getting better. No need to spend all the money for a dyson!

    Corded shark stick vacuum

I have been using this vacuum for almost a month now. It took a few tries to get a hang of it. I had a shark navigator that lasted for 9 years but the hose ripped off in a few places so it was time to change it. It somewhat light, it gets a bit tiring on the hand after a 10-15 min of use due its weight being where the handle is. It is super easy to maneuver around, has pretty good suction. I live in 2 br apartment and the cord length allows me to plug it in only once in the middle of all rooms in a hallway and not unplug until done. It has a dust attachment, small crevice tool and small tube with tiny brush for car detailing I guess. I don't like that ther is no place to keep all the attachments together and attached to the vacuum. I have to go back and forth to get needed attachment. Also the cord is just loosely hanging around and ther is really no way to keep it on the vacuum once you start using it. Overall, I'm satisfied with the product. Let's hope it will last long enough.

Let me start by saying I love this vacuum and am very pleased with it; would definitely recommend! It is lightweight and has great cleaning power, transitions from carpet to laminate beautifully. It is by far the easiest emptying vac I have ever used. The double roll design was the seller and I am quite happy with my choice. That said, there are a couple of design flaws that could stand to be improved. It is necessarily top heavy, which in itself is not an issue, per se, more a minor inconvenience if you need to pause vacuuming briefly - it will not stand up on its own. There is a hook that rests the heavy top motor portion on the bottom for storage. The biggest issue is the cord management in storing. Regardless of whether you wrap the cord before or after separating, you will short yourself one way or another. Design engineers should strongly consider a cordless or retractable cord for future models.

I spent a fair amount of time comparing Shark stick vacuums to Dyson stick vacuums. I ultimately decided on the Shark for affordability. This vacuum is great! The suction is stronger than Dyson's stick vacuums; however, this benefit comes with the drawback of wired power. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it makes it more of a pain to pull out for a quick clean-up (e.g. the little bit of dust that the dustpan misses). This vacuum does better than Dyson at pulling pet fur out of furniture and rugs. Overall, I am extremely happy with my purchase! I only wish it came with a battery-powered dust buster that could share attachments.

I've used this vacuum for about 5 months and love it! It's super light weight so I can literally vacuum with either hand. I have a Dyson Animal canister vac that I no longer use as it's way to heavy and I'd spend a good 15 minutes cleaning my golden retriever's hair out of the brush bar. There is never any hair stuck in the brush bar - it all ends up where it should! This vacuum is super easy to switch from floor to using the attachments when cleaning. I keep the accessories in a Lulu bag to keep them together.
