    Great cordless vacuum

DYSON V11 Torque drive Cordless Vacuum This is a cordless upright vacuum with a plethora of accessories. The upright portion fails in 1 aspect, there are no detents for it to remain upright if you just want to stop and move something. You have to balance it very carefully and hope it doesn’t fall over. It has 3 power setting, Boost (high), Medium (auto), and Economy (low). The vacuum head has a color LCD screen telling you what your settings are and if the filter needs cleaning or the debris cup needs emptying. It also gives you an estimate of run time in the current setting. This run time changes as you move from one floor type to another. A single charge of the battery is sufficient to clean a 1500 square foot house with a combination of wood and carpet floors. On Boost the vacuum head will develop 6 in Hg vacuum before it stops automatically and tells to empty the debris bin. On Med it only develops 2 in Hg vacuum, which is still enough to do a through job of cleaning standard floors. On ECO the vacuum drops to 1 in Hg vacuum, this is similar to a dust buster. With the addition of one of the brushes and on ECO it will run an hour, far longer than any battery-operated dust buster will. Make no mistake, dust busters have a solid spot in the cleaning market, this is a better version of one. It fits the hand well and the trigger is easy to pull. The function button and the LCD screen are always in clear view. It comes with an automated charger/charging rack. The charging system is intelligent and only charges the battery when it needs to. If you use the vacuum for just a minute or 2, it will check the battery level and not charge the battery. This is nice to see that it is keeping the battery life in check and not over charging. When using the charging rack it is almost a must to remove the long tube and floor beater brush because they will hang 7 ½” away from the wall. However the charging rack has 2 places to attach accessories, I used 1 for the long tube and large floor beater brush and the other for one of the standard brush accessories. The long tube has a holder on it for 2 other accessories, you can pick the ones you use most. The large beater brush for floor cleaner is powered and has a 9” active beater brush opening. Included is also a small beater brush for cars and upholstery. It is also powered and has a 4 ¾” opening. It does a great job dealing with pet hair and car carpets. The one accessory they do not seem to offer is a hose attachment. Like your normal vacuums have a hose to maneuver into cracks and what not, this unit must be maneuvered into that position. When using any of the accessories they are locked in place and do not turn in the vacuum head. This is very close to being unacceptable for the crevice tool. This is the one place that Dyson dropped the ball on this. Being able to rotate accessorie attachments, like the crevice tool, are a must for some areas. The cleaning of the debris bin is something you should practice before you need to do it. It kind of does nothing and then all at one time opens and throws what you have just picked up all over the place. Once I figured out that opening the debris bin can be done slowly, it was more controlled. Dyson shows the debris bin head completely enclosed in a trash bag, we all know that’s not going to happen. You will take it over to the closest trash can and empty it. With this said, practice before you really need to do it. It can be done in a controlled manner, don’t just push the handle all the way down. Push it with just enough force to disengage it from the vacuum head, it doesn’t open the debris door until it gets to the bottom. When it does open the door, it does it with force to ensure most all of the debris is removed. Practice this a few times and you’ll have a good understanding of what happens when and how to control it. I believe this cordless vacuum could replace your normal every day corded vacuum. It develops the same amount of vacuum a corded one does and is so much easier to deal with. I’ll just keep my corded one in the back of the closet for when I need a crevice tool on a hose. I did see many accessory kits for Dyson on line, and a hose is included in many of them. In time I may just buy one of those kits.

I am impressed, and trust me that is not easily done. Packaging is nice and well organized, honestly I have no idea how did they fit all those parts and extensions in that box. Device it's very powerful and very convenient to use. I am very impressed because I tried to use this device after cleaning up part of my house with another brand before testing this vacuum. That part of the house was supposed to be clean and after I used this device in same "previously cleaned area" waste bin was full of tiny unhealthy dust. I could not believe it. Vacuum comes with many attachment which are very helpful when switching configuration for home and car use or furniture and upholstery. If your home has stairs like mine does this vacuum is really must have and will make everything easier for you. No more caring of heavy vacuums on the stairs or fights with strangled power cords, because this device is very light and easy to be moved or carried around. Vacuum has 3 modes: Economy, Auto and Boost. Auto mode which is recommended will automatically adjust suction power between surfaces you are cleaning, Economy (ECO) will run longer on same steady power and Boost will run in full power intensive cleaning mode which has the shortest run time. All 3 mode will come with estimated battery run time displayed but in my experience vacuum has worked for little longer than estimated on display (this should calibrated itself with use). This vacuum is pretty quiet especially considering provided suction power. Emptying bin is new and fun feature, simply point your vacuum into trash bin and press red release tray - this will shoot the trash or dust out without any physical contact with it. Device comes with very nice "slide in" wall mountable holder, and it serve as charging base - cord just it must be manually plugged after placement of holder - that is only part that which could be better. Pros: Mobile Easy to use Cordless Very powerful suction Quiet Light Cons: Does not have any

I was hesitant to buy this at first because of the hefty price tag. It went on sale for $100 and I knew I had to get it. I bought this for the upstairs of my house. When I go downstairs to use our old bulky vacuum, it really puts into perspective just how lightweight and easy to push this vacuum is. It also comes with a plethora of useful attachments that make, for example, dust your blinds a breeze. Emptying the pin takes a little getting used to and does fill up decently fast, but that's a trade off for it being very lightweight. The battery life is decent, I usually charge it every other use to make sure it's always at full suction power every use. Definitely recommend this vacuum. If you can wait for it to go on sale, that is ideal but honestly this vacuum is worth it either way. I also should mention that it does hard floors and carpet with ease, and the fact that it actively detects and switches depending on the surface is such a nice quality of life feature. Very happy with my purchase!

We've had several Dyson's over the years and they have all been high-quality reliable vacuums. They have exceeded expectations and this latest model continued this trend. The hand held vacuum is powerful, even though it's a rechargeable vacuum that doesn't need to be connected to power during use. When it's not in use the Dyson comes with a really nice wall mount that can be used with the power cord so it's continuously charging when not in use. This Dyson can be used either in the longer configuration for cleaning carpets for example, or shortened for use on couches or cleaning the seats of your car. If you're looking for a versatile vacuum then this is definitely worth considering. I doubt you'll go back after trying Dyson!

Wanted to replace my Miele with a cordless vacuum without the hassle of bags and this is just perfect for my needs. It’s very light, maneuvers well, charges fast and lasts a long time, does a fantastic job for carpet. It’s so easy to clean too. Really like the fact that we no longer have to replace bags. This vacuum works too. I was able to get up a lot of addition dirt and hair left over from the Miele. If I had one complaint, it would be that the roller stops when going over my plush rugs in the bathroom. Of course the Miele had issues with that too. Other than than, I have no complaints with this vacuum.

Bought this 2 years ago when I got divorced and my ex wife got the Dyson V8 - and I’m glad she did! This is the best purchase I’ve made since then! This thing is a beast, I have carpets, hardwoods, some vinyl flooring and rugs and this thing adjusts the proper amount of suction needed when it transitions between them automatically. I don’t vacuum my entire house at once, so I’ve never run out of battery power, but even after two years the battery seems to be running strong. I’m not sure how long they usually last, but in other electronics once you hit 2 years it seems the battery usually needs to be replaced. Oh yeah and it comes with more attachments than I’ve ever used. Actually I only use the one big standard one, and the small one for cracks and crevices. The V8 we had to change the main attachment for hardwoods vs carpet. V11, no changes necessary. I don’t review a whole lot, but this one is definitely worth my time. These are expensive no doubt, but in the long run more than worth it! There might be newer better models out now, I don’t know, but this one is amazing. FYI My house is 2600 sq ft, but I usually only vacuum between 500-1000 at a time.

Very light, handy and stores easy. Picks up everything so far. Easy to empty. Charging while stored as long as it is being stored near an outlet. If not you can actually charge the removable handle piece anywhere. It shows 3 settings for battery usage and how much vacuuming time is left. We have been hesitant about using a cordless vacuum cleaner since they usually have issues. Not this one though. It is our first cordless and we are impressed. The only downside is the high price. That is why I gave it 4 stars only....performance of it is actually 5 stars.

I was extremely skeptical of spending $$$ on a vacuum which was the same price as my rent. Even if I was able to save to afford it why would I? My boyfriend has been talking about this for a couple of months now. Every time we go to Costco he would go on a rave about all of its features while I shook my head saying it's just a vacuum. We already have three at home --- why another one? Well, just throw any spare you have away because this just blows it out of the wall. What I used to spend along time on could be done with seconds. The only minor annoyance is you have to hold the button the WHOLE time but the way it cleans overdoes that. It comes in three different modes the regular, boost, or automatic as well as multiple attachments. It picked up pet hair, dust in hard to reach places, and since it is wireless you can even raise it above your head to get hard to reach places. Not sure if my previous vacuums were absolute trash or this machinery is a beautiful godsend. Either way, without hesitation buy this Dyson.

Highly recommend. Has good power, run time and is relatively quieter than other vacuums. I have two cats and it has great auction power for hair. Includes attachments and is light weight. You do have to hold the power button while using but I do not find this to be an issue.

I read all of the reviews before I went to the store to see it first-hand. I tried it in the store and decided to buy it. I love it! On a single charge, I can clean a two-story house with 4 shedding dogs. The stairs were the easiest I've ever cleaned them because I didn't have to move a cord. Holding this so it doesn't fatigue your hand takes a bit of getting used to though so give it a few uses before you complain. Watch how much debris is in the cannister and dump it out as recommended. It does much better when the bin isn't chock-full. Empty the canister over a wastebasket because you need 2 hands to do it. The entire vacuum can be taken apart if you have a clog and the attachments are great for different jobs. I've cleaned under the fridge and then taken the vacuum apart to clean my car. You no longer need a "Dust Buster" hand-held because this turns into one. Mount the charger on a wall and this will always be charged and ready to go!

I've always been on the fence about spending a nearly half a grand on a vacuum, but this purchase seems worth it. Not only does it perform well, it also is cordless, portable, and makes vacuuming cool. You actually want to vacuum things. -It does great both on carpet & hardwood -is convenient on stairs with the attachments & portability -can reach top dusty areas or wall corners with extended attachment -works great in cars w/ the crevice tool. I even have a cousin that leave his in his trunk since it's so portable! Comes with a convenient wall mount for storage, vacuum is also easy to empty, and clean the brushes since i live in a house of 3 women. Recommend if you need a new vacuum.

Was in search of a light weight vacuum that was powerful enough to do a two story condo house with two dogs in it... With all the add on’s that come with the vacuum and battery life, I have been very happy with the purchase. The price is high of course but I feel you get what you pay for. It’s crazy how much debri and dirt that filled my container up within minutes. Vacuuming has become very fun and easy.. This machine is powerful and picks up everything that I have dealt with. Only thing is the storage container is not the biggest, so I had to clean out the waste after I was done on each floor. That’s not an issue since it is super easy to release the garbage.

We've had this for a few weeks now and really love it. We have 3 floor types we use it on: ceramic tile, hardwood, large and small area rugs and it does very well on all of them. Especially like the ability to hang the charger and unit on a wall to save space. Pros: power, visible power display, flexibility with all the attachments / combinations, clear container, and cordless use. The trigger on/off is very handy on rugs in particular, if you get brush hung up on something just release the trigger! Cons: expensive (for sure), trigger is nice but I find it hurts my finger after a bit, inability for unit to "free stand" when in use, requiring it to be laid on floor or furniture. We would buy again, as well as recommend to our friends.

I did not even think how traditional corded vacuum is restricted to the range of it's cord. I previously had to re-plug my upright vaccum about 6 times when cleaning. This portable Dyson vacuum is a great cord free solution! It does come with a plenty of power, 2 electrically powered brushes (10" wide and 6" wide), 2' extension and 4 passive attachments - 3 brushes of different sizes and one narrow attachment. Vacuum has 3 power settings - ECO, Auto or Medium and High. Auto mode is changing the power dynamically depending on what surface you use vacuum on saving battery life. I was able to clean my whole 2600 sq ft house with mostly carpeted floors on a single charge. Total cleaning time was about 30 minutes (Including moving the furniture and I had to empty the dust container once in the middle), total vacuum run time on the battery was around 25 minutes. I still had about 3 minutes left on the battery after I was completely done. Vacuum has a little display on the back which does show estimated battery run time left, value is a little pessimistic though, real run time was about 5 minutes longer than display predicted. Recharging the vacuum is easy, included power adapter and wall mounting bracket allow for easy vacuum storage and charging. Full charge takes about 4 hours. Dust bin is quick to empty by just holding it above the trash can and releasing the latches. Would I recommend this vacuum for the day to day cleaning? Absolutely! It's so nice to be able to move around freely. It does however has narrower brush (my upright vacuum has 14" powered brush) which means more back and forth movement is needed to cover the same floor space, additionally you do need to hold the whole vacuum weight in your hands while cleaning, opposed to the upright vacuum that just rides on the floor. Ability to hold 2 more attachments on the vacuum itself means that you don't have to run looking for the furniture brush while cleaning around. Overall - I highly recommend it, it's a great helper in any cleaning job at home and in your car.

Props for portability and not as heavy as I thought a battery operated vacuum would be. It does carpet and heavy rugs well. Like most vacuums it kicks about 10% of cat litter behind it so you have to make a few passes to make sure you get it all. Our first one of this model (V11) went buggy after maybe a year and stopped working. We had the plan so got it replaced. The second one the trigger mech broke after 2 months and it wouldn't stop running after letting go of the trigger until you hit it on the butt. So we returned it and bought a V15.

Before I begin this review... it's also the most expensive vacuum we've ever owned... by a lot. That said, I believe it's been worth every penny. As a handler for a working dog that lives inside with us, we have to vacuum every day (sometimes twice a day). It has plenty of suction, more than enough battery life for our whole house (2000 sqf.) and deals beautifully with our hard floors as well as 3 rooms of carpet. I love the eco setting for our bathroom rugs. Just push the button for less suction and push again to go back to auto. It's a quick grab and go and easy to switch tools on the go. Highly recommend.

I bought this with pet hair in mind. I have a Great Pyrenees mix, so everyday it looked like it had snowed in my house when I came home. Dust mops and brooms weren't doing the trick. I had borrowed an older Dyson corded vacuum, and although it did a fantastic job, it was bulky and the cord was kind of a hassle. I couldn't get it around furniture easily. When this arrived, I assembled it and 10 minutes later, my whole house was vacuumed. This thing is amazing! Emptying the canister is a breeze. I love how it automatically switches suction between floor types too. I have hard wood throughout the house and a fairly thick carpet in the bedrooms. I could tell immediately that it did a great job on the hard wood, but the carpets weren't so obvious, so I went over them once with the V11, emptying the container a couple of times. Then I followed with the corded vac, and it picked up nothing more. I was super happy. I also have a fairly low sitting entertainment center. I couldn't quite reach the back of it with the V11, but when I put it in boost mode, the dust bunnies ran to it. Love it! I've read reviews that complain about having to hold the trigger. This is not a problem for me, there's absolutely no tension and it just feels like you're holding the handle. This feature has also come in handy. If I see something I don't want to suck into the power head, like the end of my phone charging cord, I can just release the trigger. No fumbling for an off switch.

It was time to replace our old Dyson cord vacuum. I think it was 17 years old. Since it had performed so well over the years, I immediately looked to Dyson again. I admit I was a bit skeptical that a smaller stick vacuum could do the job in an almost 2000 sq ft house. We are senior citizens who have an active lifestyle, live in the mountains off of dusty roads, have house cats and 2 Aussie dogs. Since we also have horses and acreage, we are busy and the cleaning sometimes takes a lower priority. I wanted something that was easy to use, quick, and not having to drag a cord around sounded really good! Hubby thought I was making a big mistake. But, after assembling it and using it today, he has changed his mind, and I really, really like this handy and powerful vacuum. Some of the features take a bit of getting used to, like taking the tube with the power head off to dump the bin. In fact, I was concerned about the small size of the bin, and how often I might need to dump it. But after using it to vacuum most of the house, I'm no longer concerned. I'm used to it now, and it takes just a moment. And...it did a great job, our area rugs look great, and it moves so easily to our hardwood floors. One really big plus for us is that it runs off battery charge. We live off the grid and generate our own electricity with solar and wind. On cloudy, windless days, I was basically forbidden to vacuum, unless I started a generator. But now, I can have a charge ready and get it done! Couldn't be happier. If, having using this for a time we find something to change our opinion, I will edit my review to reflect it. Can definitely recommend this product!
