    Destroyed entryway carpet

On the first trip out our vacuum destroyed our entryway carper. I spoke with iRobot customer service, they are very polite and as of now, a week later they still offer little to no solution to the problem. The last conversation was to turn down the power or setup a virtual wall around the entryway carpet to avoid the area. The problem now has been escalated to a higher level of customer service. For a $1400+ including tax I’d expect a machine that could easily make the transition from hardwood to a low pile entry way carpet without damaging the carpet. (We aren’t talking a crazy fancy carpet just a typical entryway carpet from Costco.) In addition if the carpet is damaged it should be replaced at the their cost...so far crickets from iRobot. I was hesitant to spend this much money on a vacuum and am even less impressed that it damages carpet in the process.

Base will not work & poor customer service

The actual Roomba is great. The base broke within 4 weeks and will not suction from the Roomba. Customer service response takes a long time on the phone and there is no timeline for when a replacement will be sent. I wish I had purchased the Best Buy insurance to just return it for an exchange. The base shows the red light and wants a new bag installed. When replacing the bag it will not turn off the red and will not evacuate the Roomba's dirt. The Roomba app shows "The Clean Base bag is missing. Insert a bag".

This is our first Roomba and we are sold. The setup was a breeze. We downloaded the app, plugged in the station and within a matter of minutes we were connected to our wifi and sending the vacuum out to map our first level of the house. It took three trips to map 100%. Attached in the first picture is our mapped floor plan. Once the mapping was done we were able to split up the area into rooms and name them. We were then ready to send the vacuum out to clean all or particular rooms. Once we sent it out to clean, we saw the sophistication of this vacuum. First on the hardwood floor in the kitchen it would climb up onto our rugs and crank up the suction. Then once it was off of the rug, it toned it back down. We have an island in the middle of the kitchen, no problem. Roomba navigated around it perfectly, brushing away dirt from the edges as it went. Next on the tile floor it did the same thing, it found the rugs and adjusted. Then when it finds an area with a lot of dirt it gives it extra attention to make sure it gets it all. The third room on its stop was the living room with carpet. It motored right along with increased suction leaving the usual vacuum tracks, but unlike me, the tracks are straight, and my perfectionist wife loves that! Our last room on the hit list is the dining room and that was fun to watch. Roomba navigated under our chairs and under the table picking up crumbs and dirt and it never got stuck in the confined spaces. It would find its way out every time with no intervention. Once done in the dining room it headed back to home base and emptied its catch and shut down to start recharging. Overall our floorplan has taken 51-59 minutes each time depending on how much dirt we had. For the complete task Roomba uses about 1/3 of its charge so there is plenty to spare. All of the history and stats on the cleanings are graphed and shown in the app along with battery life and any schedules you set up. The second picture I have enclosed is one of the completed cleanings. The green is where Roomba cleaned and the white is where it could not go because of furniture, a wall, or a closed door. After mastering the app on our iphone, I set up the Roomba skill on our Amazon devices. Alexa gets things going by saying, “Alexa, have Roomba clean”. Alexa will then ask if you want all rooms cleaned in your floorplan or specific rooms. Once complete with the task, Roomba returns to home base without any more commands to Alexa. Cleaning one specific room is quite handy as well. We have two young children and once they are done eating breakfast, we have Alexa send Roomba to the dining room and within 10 minutes, Roomba has cleaned up after them. Overall, we are very happy with the quality of the cleaning Roomba does, appreciate the time it saves, and let’s face it, who likes to vacuum…. Except for Roomba! I would recommend Roomba to anyone regardless of whether they are experienced or inexperienced with technology.

This ruined my hardwood floors I’m not sure if it’s because they have texture, worth the word is soft. But the floors are going to have to be refinished. This was a very expensive experiment.

I have owned an "off branded" robot vacuum for quite sometime now, and I was relatively impressed with the performance. I did not see the point or the need to spend a huge amount of money on a robot vacuum. What could possibly be so different? Is it really worth the cost? In came the iRobot Roomba s9+, and I must say, I am honestly blown away. There most certainly IS a difference in the quality and performance. All I can say is, you get what you pay for. The Roomba s9+ is the latest edition to the robot vacuum world from iRobot. The product came well packaged with easy to follow instructions. I was able to get the whole thing set up in under 15 minutes. The charging station/dirt collection tower plugs right into a wall outlet. It also has a place to wrap the excess power cord which is nice because it gives it a much cleaner look. The robot vacuum deviates from the normal iRobot design. Instead of being perfectly round as previous models have been, it is straight on the front side. This, per iRobot, allows the Roomba s9+ to get into corners and hard to reach places better than the previous models. Much to my impatience, I charged the vacuum for a few hours prior to the first use. During this time, it allowed me to connect the vacuum unit to my wifi network. After the initial charge, I was all set to let it clean! You can start the cleaning process from the app downloaded on your phone, or by pressing the "Clean" button on the top right of the vacuum. The vacuum comes to life! It makes some cheerful chirps and a new light ring that surrounds the dirt bin cover lights up and flashes. This new light ring is the vacuums visual way of communication to you, the owner. The vacuum backs up off the base, turns around, and starts cleaning. This is where I truly became impressed with the technology. The vacuum no longer wanders around like my old robot vacuum. It cleans with rhyme and reason! This vacuum cleans in straight, connected lines. Once it goes till it has to stop, it turns and goes the opposite direction right next to where it just vacuumed. This is much more efficient than my other robot vacuum. Upon approaching a wall or obstacle, the robot suddenly slows down and quietly bumps the object or wall, then makes its turn. My other vacuum slammed into everything! The vacuum blew my mind when it reached the edge of a wall where it had to turn to adjust itself to the wall edge. The vacuum turned, backed up to straighten itself in line with the wall, and then began vacuuming again. I was impressed. The vacuum navigated my areas of both hard floors (stained concrete) and carpet with ease. During the cleaning process, the vacuum navigates my house with impressive precision. Not only is there a host of sensors on the bottom, which iRobot named "PerfectEdge Technology", but there is also a camera on the center of the unit which, I assume, is part of how it navigates. The Roomba s9+ cleans your home, and at the same time, learns your house. It creates a map inside the iRobot app that allows you to see where the robot cleaned, where it found large amounts of dirt, and it also allows you to select specific rooms for the Roomba to go and clean without it having to clean your entire house! While the Roomba cleans, it sucks up a massive amount of dirt. It is advertised that this vacuum has 40x more suction than one of the previous models. When it encounters an area with excessive dirt, the light ring around the top turns blue and the vacuum continues to vacuum that single spot. Another amazing feature is that the vacuum, if the dirt bin gets full, will return to the "Clean Base" and empty itself and then it will continue to vacuum where it left off. I love this because usually, it cleans my entire house and won't stop just because the dirt bin is full. The dirt gets emptied into the clean base which has a disposable vacuum bag inside. Now to discuss a few things I don't like or that maybe I do not understand. There is always the issue of the disposable items. The Clean Base tower that automatically empties your Roomba's dirt bin has disposable bags. I would rather have iRobot design a dirt bin that is able to be reused. The dirt bin on the s9+ itself is washable and reusable, why is the dirt bin on the Clean Base a disposable vacuum bag. People will pay a large amount of money for this robot vacuum. This is a huge investment for their home. I would have thought the vacuum bags were a thing of the past. With the increased suction power, this vacuum is loud. This can be remedied by changing the setting from the phone app to a quieter cleaning setting, but who wants to dumb down the power on the vacuum? I want it to suck up as much dirt as possible. Sometimes the vacuum approaches objects/walls and slams right into them. This is NOT what the vacuum is supposed to do. When the vacuum is acting correctly, it approaches walls/objects and immediately slows down and barely bumps them. I am not exactly sure what the cause of the issue is. I have cleaned the camera lens and sensors on the underside of the unit. Sometimes it happens, sometimes it does not. I also have two recliners and for some reason, the Roomba s9+ does not understand them at all! In its defense, my old robot vacuum also had issues with my recliners. I do not know if it is the distance from the bottom of the recliners to the floor, or some other issue, but the vacuum seems to think there is nothing there and will continue to bump the recliners like it is trying to go through them. It is annoying as I feel it is wasting battery life. For a piece of technology to be so intelligent, it does have an occasional unintelligent moment. In summary, even with minor flaws in either design or software, this is the BEST robot vacuum I have ever seen or used. You definitely get what you pay for. If you are on the fence about buying one, save up your money and opt for the Roomba s9+. You will love the Clean Base and you will love how clean the Roomba gets your home!

While this unit is quite pricy, the Roomba is very convenient. Never have to sweep the floors anymore. So nice. It took a couple of weeks to map the house, but once it did, finishing the set up was easy. It is finicky about cords or loose clothing getting it stuck, but once you learn to keep those to a minimum and set the map to avoid areas that are prone to loose cords and clothing, the Roomba does quite well. The ability to clean corners is icing on the cake.

    Best Robovac Yet

It’s been almost 17 years now since the first Roomba was introduced. In some ways they’ve changed quite a lot, but in others things have mostly stayed the same. They still mostly rely on virtual walls to stay out of dangerous areas. They still look like oversized hockey pucks. And you still need to clean the brushes daily if you’ve got pets with long fur unless you feel you’re overburdened with money. But apparently now that the Roomba is almost old enough to vote, iRobot has decided that the time has come for some changes. The S9+ has abandoned just about all the classic Roomba design cues in the name of producing a robot vacuum that is far more capable than any model I’ve seen in just about every way. And I love every bit of it. To begin, the new design. The hockey puck look has been completely abandoned for a U-shaped design that more and more devices have been adopting as of late, and I’m very pleased to see it. The circular body design was effective at stopping the Roomba from getting stuck, but you paid for it in terms of coverage. With the brushes placed right between the wheels they could never get any closer than about 2 inches to baseboards, furniture, or doors. Rotating edge brushes set ahead of the wheels attempted to fix this by directing debris towards the center, but as anyone who used Roombas regularly could tell you it was far from a perfect solution. With the S9’s squared off front it can go places an older Roomba never could. They’ve also been able to make the brushes bigger and better protected against the dangers of cat hair wrapping itself around the bearings or cutting through the brushes. I’ve still been clearing them about every other day out of habit, but outside of shedding season I think you could probably let it go for a week and not run into any serious problems. Roombas were already just about the best thing you could imagine when it came to managing pet hair, but I think this is the first one I can believe won’t eventually be killed by it. Now, generally, you’d expect the addition of corners to mean the Roomba is less maneuverable than its cylindrical brethren. And that might have been the case if not for the improved navigation system, which verges on magical. While it did spend the first couple of days unsuccessfully stumbling around my apartment and getting itself into trouble, at the end of each attempt it presented me with a basic overview of what it had learned about the shape of my home. By the third day this had turned into a rudimentary map – complete with dividing lines indicating where it thought the transitions were between the different rooms. Some manual tweaking was still required to get it right – but I have to say it got a lot closer than I expected it could, even spotting the barely-there transition between my living room and dining room. And all of this was manageable from iRobot’s excellent app for the vacuum, which provides you with all the statistics you could ever need as well as notifications on what the thing is doing, an advanced scheduling feature, and even an option to set how loud the vacuum’s motor is allowed to get and how many passes it should make over a single area. Once the system knows the topography it’s working with there really is no need for virtual walls, and no worries about the tracking grid from your VR setup inadvertently turning the entire living room into a No-Robot zone (as happened with my previous Roomba.) Watching the system gradually learn how not to get stuck was surprisingly entertaining too – though for those of you who are less amused by such things may just want to make use of the training mode which just has the Roomba drive through the house for a few hours without trying to clean anything until it’s got a good sense for the layout. The final feature is, of course, the fact that this is the second self-cleaning Roomba. When the Roomba returns to the charging base, there’s a port on the underside leading directly to a sealed off compartment within the dust bin that forms a seal with a matching port on the base. Within the base is another, more powerful vacuum that sucks all the dust and debris straight out of the bin and into a small disposable bag that they claim holds about 30 bins worth. I’d say based on my experience after a week of cleaning up after both a cat and a dog that this looks slightly optimistic – but your mileage may vary. And speaking as someone who often would forget to empty the bin for several days, it’s a nice thing to have. Now, having gushed about just how awesome this thing is, I do have to admit there are a couple of downsides. To start – the machine vision system that the Roomba uses doesn’t work well in the dark. In fact it really doesn’t seem to work at all in the dark. This was a bit disappointing as I generally prefer to let it do its thing in the wee hours of the morning before the sun’s up and the animals are too tired to try riding on it. Of course I probably wouldn’t be doing that with this anyway thanks to the other downside. “Quiet” is not a word I’d use to describe this thing. Even operating in low power mode it would be hard to sleep through a 5AM cleaning cycle, and even if you could learn to live with that the base is even louder sucking all the dirt out once its done. It’s also a pretty talented climber – the first time I tried to run it I missed one of my dog’s chew toys while cleaning the floor. It had absolutely no trouble climbing up over the hard nylon bone and getting it caught within the brushes. No damage was done, but it’s certainly got some blind spots which you’ll want to be aware of if you’ve got pets and/or small children in the house. Despite these few nitpicks, overall I have to say I’m extremely happy with the performance of the S9+, and look forward to many years of not having to think about cleaning to come.

I've owned this for a few weeks now and I have to say I'm still torn on how much I like it. I had a Neato D series vacuum which is the only robotic anything I've ever owned. What I like. This thing has massive amounts of sucking power. It can easily draw dust out of a corner on hard surface floors. It draws dust out of the carpet my previous vacuum missed. And, it empties itself which is super helpful when you have a pet. The battery charges quick and lasts a long time. It has many useful settings where you can make it do a more detailed job or a quick job, suck more or suck less, etc. And, the mapping is extra cool. Some of the negatives I've had so far are that it is slower than then my old one. Where the battery lasts longer it still doesn't finish a floor on a single charge which is something the old one could do. It has missed a room here or there or a small portion here or there. The major weakness of the guidance or cameras that guide it. It can not do a dark room. My basement would get done in the middle of the night on my last one. To do it with this one I have to have the lights on. I also had problems with it not being able to figure out a railing that had spindles on it. Kept getting stuck in the middle of them and wouldn't clean one side of the 2nd floor. Only solution I had was to change its starting point which seemed to work better.

This is the best vacuum robot by far, its the best at everything, but the software seems to be buggy at times. Sometiems it works flawlessly, other times it will give a random bin error and not stsrt correctly etc. if there are no software problems, this is the best robot on the market still in 2023 (besides the battery)

Mixed Feelings About the iRobot Roomba s9+

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I invested in an iRobot Roomba s9+, and while there are aspects of it I'm impressed with, there are also significant drawbacks that affect my overall satisfaction. On the positive side, the suction power of this robot vacuum is remarkable. It excels at picking up dirt and dog hair, consistently leaving my floors spotless – a truly commendable feature. However, my experience with its 'smart' capabilities has been less than satisfactory. Despite being a high-end model, it often behaves more like a basic vacuum. The Roomba s9+ frequently gets stuck and somehow manages to wedge itself even more tightly under furniture and other obstacles. Its reliance on an upward-facing camera, rather than a forward-facing one, seems to be a design flaw. This has led to repeated instances where it catches and damages the corners of my area rugs, and it's even come close to pulling down curtains. Another point of frustration is its navigation, or lack thereof, in areas I've designated as off-limits. Despite setting boundaries, it often disregards these and gets stuck, which defeats the purpose of having a 'smart' vacuum. Given its hefty price tag of over $800, I expected a higher level of intelligence and efficiency in its navigation system. While the suction is top-notch and does a great job on the floors, the Roomba s9+'s smart technology does not live up to expectations, leading to a mixed overall experience with the product. I do not recommend this product for its price tag.

I have several indoor cats, so I'm always looking for the next tool that will help me battle the fur. The Roomba s9+ with Automatic Dirt Disposal is great! I have another robot vacuum from different manufacturer, and although it cleans well, sometimes the dust-bin has to be emptied multiple times, which means I only use it when I'm at the house and can supervise.... not so with the s9+. Unboxing the product revealed an extremely stylish product that would not have to be hidden in some remote corner of the house, so I placed it beside my fireplace. I did have some trouble during the initial setup; for some reason, the app I installed on my phone couldn't find the vacuum using the typical method. I had initially connected to my 2.4GHz network since most of the networked products I have prefer that over 5Ghz. However, this product can actually use either band, so after switching to 5Ghz, I was able to complete the setup. I spoke with customer service about this issue, and was told that my 40+min setup was not typical (it should take about 10-15 mins), and that the setup should have worked with 2.4Ghz as well. I might try to redo the setup at a later date, but for now I'm happy just watching this thing clean... and clean it does. The pathing algorithms seem to be a bit better than my other vacuum (it doesn't seem to wander around a room, and it finds the base station much quicker when it needs to empty/recharge), but unlike the other vacuum, the s9+ tends to hits obstacles with bit of force. This isn't a huge problem with regard to scratching furniture since there's a 'collapsible' plastic bumper on the front, but there might be an issue if you have something like a tall vase on a stand; there might be enough force to cause it to tip. I've actually emailed customer service about this, but I haven't heard back from them yet. The double brushes do a great job of cleaning both carpet and hardwood, and the rotating corner brush is good at bringing dirt out from that walls so it can be grabbed. One problem I noticed is that the double brushes will tend to grab the edge of thin area rugs. I have a 10'x14' area rug in my living room that is very thin (about 1/4") and the vacuum has occasionally rolled up a portion of the edge. To fix this, I'm going to try some double-sided rug tape to hold the rug to the pad that's underneath. The mapping ability for the s9+ also seems to be more advanced than my other vacuum, and once the mapping is completed, you can have the vacuum clean only specific rooms, which I find to be a very nice feature. This product also uses iRobot's DirtDetect technology. I'm not sure exactly how it detects 'extra' dirt, but when the light ring on the vacuum turns blue, it's found something, and it concentrates on that area for a while, even marking the areas on the map. The big advantage of this vacuum is that when the dust-bin is full, it makes it's way back to the base station to empty itself. The sound I liken to a small jet engine firing up tells you the dirt is being put into the station's bag, and once the dust-bin is empty, the vacuum is off again... very convenient. Overall, I am very pleased with this vacuum. Other than the initial setup, which I've been told is not typical, and the slight bumping of obstacles, I think the Roomba s9+ with Automatic Dirt Disposal is a home-run. If you're tired of continually checking your robot vacuum to see if the dust-bin needs to be emptied, give this one a try... I think you'll like it.

So I was planning on a review after iRobot’s team got back to me and now they have so now I can. Let me start with this is a good botvac. I own a braava 240 mopping robot, the new m6 and a Neato D3 for reference. The S9+ is great in that it can be used in conjunction with the M6 to clean the mop the house. I call mine Mom and Dad. They do a great job at cleaning and with the ability to empty the container by itself, the S9 makes maintaining it a breeze by just taking out a bag every once in a while. It has most of the features you would expect like that once it maps out your house you can tell it where you want it to clean in the future or schedule it to clean at certain times and days or remote cleaning via the app. Now the down sides. After 5 uses one of the roller brushes picked up a thin piece of thread and cut into the roller brush damaging it to the point it needed repair. I reached out to customer service and they were very nice and offered to replace the brush reminding me that it should be replace regularly every 6 months. I thanked them and I’m still waiting for my new brushes. That being said remember I said I’ve owned other bots? Well my D3 is dead due to a battery (that I did not want to replace and wanted a excuse to get the latest and greatest) but the brush still works after 4 years. It was also much cheaper than the S9. I asked the customer service if they had plans to fix the brush or offer a new type in the future but did not get a response. :/ Lastly don’t watch this botvac clean. It may have the new visual system but it still feels dumb... like the old gen of botvacs. It bounces around from place to place and with each bounce hoping... that it will be the bounce home... lol sorry. Couldn’t resist. But seriously I’m not ocd but man... a little better programming. I mean it does clean everywhere but it takes a while to do so. The D3 I have is very systematic and gives you confidence that it will clean everything. Also leave the lights on where you want to clean... it’s afraid of the dark... actually it has a hard time visualizing without lights. No visuals... no clean. All in All I like this botvac as it does a good job cleaning and has great suction power for pickups. I little more polish and this could be the best botvac ever! But for now, it will have to settle for good. :) Hope this review helps!

PRO: I want one for every floor in this house! After it's "learned" the room(s), setup a custom sweep plan, press a button, and go do something else until it's done. Got it to get under the bed since using the stand-up vacuum even with detachments is a pain, and it (more or less) works! Also this is apparently good for thick carpet and animal hair. Love the map feature and being able to specify rooms, areas to sweep, how hard to sweep, etc. CON: expensive. have to "child-proof" the room before letting it go, any wires/paper/clothes/etc on the floor WILL get sucked up and jam the unit. Replacement parts are expensive and highly recommend genuine parts b/c 3rd party parts don't fit 100% and make this thing SO NOISY. My particular unit ALWAYS gets stuck under one particular dresser - ALWAYS. You'd think the A.I. would figure out "don't go here" but no, it always does. Think there's a "barrier" you can set in the map to prevent, haven't figured it out yet. Very noisy on anything other than carpet.

This is my first experience with a Roomba, so I went in with high, but realistic expectations. Unboxed the Roomba and allowed it to charge on the station and read the instructions and downloaded the app onto my phone. Once it was fully charged, I hit clean on the app and sent the Roomba on it way. I learned real quickly that you will need to prep areas to be cleaned. In other words, make sure extension cords, phone charger cords and ironing board cords are free from the vacuum area or it will get sucked in and jam the vacuum. After five runs around the house, there was a full map. I waited a week and while I was at work, I used the app to clean the house. Unfortunately, the robot got stuck on another extension cord and my wife had to free it once she got home from work. Once freed, it completed cleaning with a total time of 5 hours. It would have been in about 2 hours if it didn't get stuck. Attempted to run it again two days later and it cleaned every room in about 1 hour and 45 minutes in the quiet clean mode. Three days later, I ran it again, but this time in the detailed clean mode. It's more powerful and uses more battery. This time it took 5 hours because the vacuum had to go back to the base and recharge itself twice. I received notification on my phone for each time it was stuck and when it completed the cleaning jobs. The app also shows where the vacuum went over high traffic/dirt areas multiple times to clean. It's nice that with the charging base, it can also empty it's own bin into the base. The only issue so far after learning the house just occurred early this week when I received an error message saying the vacuum was "stuck", but it just left the charging station and returned. The app then gave an error 66 stating the memory on the vacuum was full and needed a hard reset and/or remap the house and make more dividers to separate the rooms. Once the hard reset and remapping was complete, cleaning takes anywhere from 90 minutes to 2 hours depending on the cleaning setting. No additional issues since. The price? Yea, it's up there to say the least. This is an amazing piece of machinery and it's scary to think there will be a better model in years to come. It's not for everyone, but it is nice to have. Splurge on it and you won't be disappointed.

First let me say the s9 does a great job of cleaning and has really strong suction in the areas it vacuums. One thing to be aware of is that it does require light to function properly so you cant run it at night or even at dawn unless you leave lights on where it is vacuuming. The mapping features, being able to identify no vacuum zones, identifying rooms, dumping a full bin and resuming the vacuuming run, communicating with Alexa and auto mopping (if you have a Braava m6) after the vacuum run are game changers. However note it is key to get a good mapping run to have all these things work well so take time to do that when you get it. Be sure to block off areas with cords, pick up all your shoes, dog toys, etc. before doing the mapping run. I love the vacuum when it runs without stopping. Note that my experience is if you want it to vacuum under a kitchen table you always need to put up the chairs. If not, the s9 can frequently will stop giving you an error saying something is blocking it from where it is trying to vacuum. With my old 800 series, I would only lift up the chairs once a week and not worry about doing that the other days the Roomba was vacuuming and that worked fine - the 800 would just bump into them and not vacuum under the table for that run. As I stated above, not so with the S9 as leaving down the chairs will confuse it sometimes. Limitations, but ones I can work with. The reason the jury is still out is about every third run the S9 has stopped for some reason and I have had to do something to restart it. One reason may be due to lack of light so I have programmed it to start later than right at dawn - I think this will really help. The other thing is it appears to sometimes get stuck if it runs into legs of a table if they are fairly close together (like a high top table for four), I think this may improve as it learns from more vacuuming runs, but if not I can also put no vacuum zones around each leg.

I’ve had this for about a month now. So far it’s been a good machine. The only issues I’ve had is that it wouldn’t go into one of my bedrooms and it has gotten stuck a couple times. However, the suction power on carpet is amazing. The app seems easy to navigate as well. I can update this review after having the vacuum for a little longer.

While the vacuum does get stuck a little more than I would like, it does a great job cleaning the floors. I would only get this product when it's on sale though.

We recently replaced our carpeting throughout the house with laminate. I was concerned about dog hair and daily “life” activities showing up on the floor. This handsome device does the job, and is just what I was looking for! Getting started was easy as pie to download the app, and let Roomba begin mapping the house. We eventually named it Blackhawk because on flooring, it sounds like a Blackhawk helicopter coming into the room. It does what I need it to do—vacuum the floors. The small stuff needs to be moved (kitchen chairs, the dog’s food and water dishes, plants, waste paper basket, and other small items) for a good thorough cleaning. It is amazing that it remembers what to do and where to go. For the first few days, I couldn’t get anything done while it was vacuuming because I was so entranced with what it was doing and how it was doing it. The one drawback is the rubber brushes have already torn, and only after one week of use. The rubber brush still works, but it is annoying that it wasn’t durable enough to handle the jobs. When Blackhawk is finished, it finds its way back to its base and automatically empties the dirt into the disposal unit. All I can say is that I love my Blackhawk!

Replaced an older roomba for this one. This one goes in an organized pattern throughout the house. Maps the house completely and updates each time you run the machine. The cleaning power is way more powerful than the last one we had as well. And it empties itself. Easy set up.

Yes it’s expensive but I should have bought this years ago! Does all the work while I do nothing. Mapping is great and I can control where it cleans and when it cleans. It returns to base to empty and charge just as promised.
