This has built-in duplex and an optional "third" paper tray so is the natural replacement. I am very satisfied.

They are little workhorses. They are a bit pricier than the Brother's we used to buy but they are lasting much longer. Toner is on the expensive side, but again, they last.

I guess it could be user error but I do not like this printer. Wish I had purchased something else!
