It took two. The first one stopped working within a week. However, it’s replacement works great. Works great on thin rugs, tile and wood floors.

    Good machine

We bought this and even though I did research we opted for the cheaper model without the “floor mapping” feature. Even though we are pleased with the machine so far, there are a lot of missed areas because it just goes until it hits something and turns and goes another direction. So I can leave it out for it’s whole battery cycle and find crumbs still on the floor where it had not been. Mind you, this is just two rooms too. The shark does pick up a lot of dirt and hair from our cat and dog. The only other issue I had so far is that it doesn’t always respond to the app on my phone for whatever reason. I either have to manually tell it to start or turn it off and back on again. All in all, good machine so far.

Keeps floor from dust build up. Works with app, wifi. Can schedule for it to start on it's own. Says it works with google and alexa but still cant figure out how to set it up. Not too loud. Seems to have trouble getting back to dock but eventually its finds it. Definitely have to make sure nothing is on the floor because it is strong enough to suck up or get caught the end of a throw or a shirt and chargers.

Not the most expensive and the smartest I’ve reviewed and read about but this Ion is easy to use and does a good job on our vinyl plank floors, tile and carpet. Pleasantly surprised at how well it cleans! I like the notifications when the Ion gets hung up, that’s a useful feature. Even though it doesn’t have “mapping” it eventually gets around to most areas. It also fits under most of our furniture which was one of the reasons I purchased the Ion. Overall, I am very happy so far! I just hope it lasts for a long time.

    Love-hate relationship

I only gave this a 4 star review, because I have somewhat of a love-hate relationship with my Shark Ion (I named her Rhonda). But the problems I have with it aren’t necessarily exclusive to this brand. The Shark brand is my go to vacuum, and I own several. My advice to anyone who is bringing one of these into their home is that you must have impeccable cable management going on. It will suck up any stray cord and sometimes seems to go straight for them. I learned the hard way when mine pulled my Shark stick vac across the apartment. The second thing is that it gets stuck very easily. I noticed on my surveillance video that mine went straight for a corner, somehow got stuck and wore its battery down in that corner. I had the alerts on, but when I am not home there isn’t much I can do in situations like that - so I turned them off. It does a good job cleaning though as long as you don’t try to micromanage it. It will bounce all around your home until the battery dies and when it recharges it will go back to bouncing around. I’ve found it generally gets everything up. My dog would give it zero star, because it is his new arch nemesis. In conclusion, if you’re cords are in order and bound together, you won’t micromanage the work, you wont get hung up on it getting hung up and if it won’t make your pet too crazy - I recommend it.

I love my "loquita!" (My little crazy). I like to walk barefooted, and after my Ion finished cleaning, I can do it feeling only my clean floors and carpets under my feet...

Really good product and fantastic app. Only issue is it gets stuck sometime and my dog has not gotten used to it yet but the product is solid. It does great on pet hair and general debris on hardwood floors and it surprisingly is able to clean even thicker shag carpet. App scheduler has been flawless so all in all really good product and I am very pleased with my purchase.

Great little vacuum, but it's simple, just randomly bumps into things changes direction till it bumps something else. With that said, it does and amazing job of cleaning to my surprise! It manages to hit all my rooms and cleans my labs hair up with no problem. I will be upgrading soon but if you want an inexpensive robot vacuum you can't go wrong with this one, IMHO.

    better than roomba

Better suction and easier to clean than my old roomba. Biggest drawback is no "spot clean" to keep it in one area of the house, but it runs well for about 2 hours, so gets most of the spots. My house includes three women with long hair, 2 dogs and a cat and the brush is good at gathering up all the hair.

I didn't think this would work very well. I was surprised at how well it works. It cleans good, and does a good job at walking over the transitions between floors. It does especially well at cleaning under coaches, chair, tables, etc. that are often missed when cleaning with a regular stand-up push vacuum. Even powerful enough to push shoes out of its way and get around obstacles. I have this on the first floor of a large home, and it cleans the kitchen, living room, dining room, family room, a bedroom, and a bathroom. I didn't think it would maneuver all around to so many rooms, but it does, and cleans them all. The only issue is that it is such a large area, it sometimes can't find it's way back to the base, but that's only happened twice in about two weeks of daily cleaning.

    Best Vacuum Ever

This may be the greatest purchase of my life. We have a lab, who is wonderful but sheds like she’s running a wig factory. We also have a crawling baby and I can’t stand for her to be covered in hair. Enter Alfred (our shark) who we run every single night. Our house, baby, and the bottom of my feet are now dog hair free (at least as much as it can be without Alfred running all day long). It bounces along for about an hour and a half every night. We clean it out every morning which takes a whole 30 seconds. It does get stuck every now and then but I think that’s to be expected with any robot vacuum. It’s reasonably quiet (though can be heard) and doesn’t bother me or my husband when we’re working at night. I have recommended to literally all of my friends. Overall a great purchase.

Perfect Robot Vacuum for our home at a great price

My sister has had a Shark Ion for 4 years and absolutely loves it. I finally broke down and decided to try it. My research says Shark is the best and I found Best Buy to have the best price -plus I had some bonus dollars off. This unit is the low to middle end of the market. I know there are a lot more expensive models that do a lot more things but, I figure I can empty the dust bin myself and my home is only 1800 sq ft - no stairs, not pets, mostly all laminate and tile floors. Out of the box, I put on the brushes and started it charging. It says the charging station has to have a lot of clearance around it. I actually put it next to an entry way table but, the table is open underneath. So, to the charging table, it looks clear on both sides even though it is looking under a table on one side. It works! It's happy. I had a little challenge with the wireless link as it needed a 2G connection. I finally got it to work and, honestly, I don't know what I did to make it work. Just keep trying! For the first cleaning test, we closed off the two bedrooms that are carpeted and left open the rest of the 1800 sq ft house. The unit did a wonderful job everywhere and then returned to its base. It successfully went under the dining room table and over all the throw rugs including thick ones in the guest bathroom and the thick rubber mats in the kitchen. After it charged (a few hours), I guided it in the carpeted master bedroom, bath and walk-in closet and closed the bedroom door. After 30-35 minutes I went in and the area looked great. I then guided it into the second carpeted bedroom where I got the same result. Oh, Shark Ion, where have you been all my life! I did link and name the unit through Alexa. If I get the wording just right, Toby (as I called the unit) does start cleaning, pause or return to base, but sometimes I can't remember the right words. In those cases, I either have to look up the correct phrases to say or simply walk over to the unit and hita button. It is fun, however, to control the unit through Alexa or on the phone app. Bottom line, for our size home with no pets and mostly non-carpeted floors, this is an excellent robot vacuum. I highly recommend it.

I’m so happy I was able to purchase this on sale for $150! It was really easy to set up! You have to let it charge for 3 hours initially. The app is very user friendly too! Once I turned it on, I let it roam around and I was really surprised how quiet it was. After about 30 minutes I paused it to see how much debris was picked up and there was a crazy amount of dog hair! This is definitely a must have for pet owners. I’m excited to use this more often! This is my first robot vacuum so I don’t have anything else to compare it too but so far I’m really happy and impressed!
