I have not used this laptop that often but this is my review for so far
Pros
Speakers are nice but 2 face the ground
Fast boot and shut down
Fingerprint scanner Works fast (1 time the laptop said the finger print was not located on my laptop)
Touch screen is nice ( of course there is lots of finger prints)
Cons
This laptop didn’t come with a hp pen
The color is not black, it is more of a brownish color
No face unlock
This laptop model only has 8gb of ram when the silver laptop i7core has 12gb of ram for only $50 more
Improvements
Screen is not that sharp
Only 2 USB ports and 1 of them is a pull tap type usb which I really do not like

I have been very happy with this amazing laptop! The visual appearance and high-grade/durable structure. The visual graphics are amazing; as well as the sound system! The key board is smooth and easy to get used to as well. The speed is great and it has everything I need and more! It was a great purchase at a great price! The only issue is the charger connector has to be put a certain way into the port in order the the laptop to charge. Other than that, a laptop that you will not be disappointed!

Very good computer value vs cost. Fast, Very Fast with the SSD hard drive. The touch screen makes this much easier to use. The only drawback is with all new Windows 10 setups is once your start to set it up you should never stop until completed. Have all your access codes with you to your email and web/internet accounts when you start, You will need them. I recommend this same computer to a friend. He purchased it at Best Buy and was very impressed with how Great it works.

I was in the market for a new machine since my old one couldn't last past 1.5 hours, even with a new battery. Going to school, I didn't want to lug around my power adapter as well, so it was time for a new one. I do a little bit of photo and video editing so I needed a snappy machine that could handle a bit of a workload on it. This CPU does it with no issues. The fit and finish of this machine is great. Aluminum body which prevents a little bit of body and screen flexing. Lit up keys, good speakers.
There are a few issues elsewhere though. Who thought it was a great idea to place the power button in between the delete key and camera key? It just doesn't make sense. You have to fumble around trying to turn on the machine in low light. That is just ridiculous. The machine does get a bit noisy, even with normal everyday tasks like surfing the internet. Now if there is a work load on it, like photo editing, it is understandable for the fans to kick on to keep it cool. Battery life is okay, not the greatest, but heck of a lot better then what I am used to. I average around 5 hours on it with the workload I do. The tablet mode I personally don't use so i cannot comment on it. And the big thing, 8GB of RAM? While it is enough for everyday tasks, once you start putting a bit more of a work load on the machine, it starts to suffer. Granted it is speedy RAM at 3200mhz, still though, I would have liked to have had at least 12gb, ideally 16GB for the price point.

Great computer for business presentations

I bought this laptop specifically for a business presentation and it works great. My older HP could've pulled it off but it would have hampered the image I was trying to convey so it was time for an upgrade.
-The SSD boots it up super fast, this is a major improvement over the HDD of older machines. I don't think I'll ever go back after seeing how much better performance.
- I tested every laptop on the display at the best buy to see how the CPUs performed and the AMD Ryzen 7 was superior in its speed and its ability to run programs with low overall CPU usage
- Its lightweight but not flimsy.
-The screen goes almost entirely to the border
-Touch screen works great. This is surprisingly useful during small group meetings
- Sounds quality is great for zoom/MS teams calls. It does a good job eliminating background noise. It plays music pretty loud for a laptop
-The physical webcam blocker that is installed is a nice add on
- Biometrics work good, makes log in easy, though if you are worried about security its not hard to bypass one of these and I would advise you disable it and stick to a strong password
- Not sure why the design team did this, but the power button is not one of the corner keyboard buttons. Its in the top function row about 2/3 to the right side, nbd just not used to seeing it there
- I have only ever bought HPs since 2005 and they all still boot just fine. Overall, I think if treated well this machine will follow suit and will be good enough to continue using at or above industry standard for at least 5 years.
Thanks

I bought this laptop because my old HP died. I had it for 8 years so it definitely had a good run. I am really happy with this new HP ENVY! I mainly use it for the Internet and email. I also use it for Word and Excel. It's really fast and makes my life easier!! Really like the touchscreen and backlight! It's pretty easy to use especially for someone who is not computer savvy!!! GREAT product!!

Needed a new laptop for zooming and was looking for a bluetooth compatible laptop with decent battery life. Also someone who keeps many tabs open on google chrome and multiple excel sheets open that would easily slow down my old computer, but this computer works like a charm and doesn't slow down. Worth the extra investment in AMD Ryzen 7. Touchscreen feature also fun and helpful for completing signatures.

I got the laptop mostly to put Linux on and learn programming. What you get for the price is really good.
Pros:
Trackpad is very smooth
Quality of overall materials is pretty good
Looks
Portability
Privacy buttons for mic and camera
Cons:
The keyboard pretty much sucks
Bezels could be smaller
Only one SSD slot
The B key on my keyboard popped off and anytime I press on the upper half of the key it pops off, I have to send it in to support but that should not have happened and they should really just send me the key itself... The keyboard could be a lot better and that is my biggest gripe on this laptop. If it were more like the Dell XPS, Alienware, or even Lenovo keyboards this would be the best laptop out there for the price. I am going to add a 1tb pcie 4.0 SSD to it to triple the speed and get 16gb of 3200mhz ram, most laptops like this don't even offer upgradeability like this.
The fact that it has a shutter that slides in front of the camera is pretty sweet, I normally put a piece of tape over cameras like that but now I don't have to and I feel like this is a very big plus that is not really marketed enough.

Amazing metal build quality, runs cool and powerful. Comfortable keyboard specially with numberpad. Large and crisp display but would recommend a monitor if working from home. All ports work flawlessly and battery life has been great for productivity and occasional videos/music. Touchpad is large and works with windows gestures. Good volume on the built in speakers, not much bass though.

Nice screen and keyboard. Fast processor and integrated graphics. Very nice design, the dark chocolate brown color is unique and sophisticated. Nicely responsive and good connections.
A couple of quibbles:
- Power and volume on the sides would be nice especially for tablet mode.
- A couple of times it wouldn't auto-switch to tablet mode until I re-started. That could be a Windows issue though.

This is the second one I purchase because I thought it was defective. It turns out that windows update completely removes the internal microphone and I can’t install it again even getting the drivers. I downloaded it again on the second one i purchased and it had the same issue. I restored the computer before the update and it restored the microphone. I’m not sure what to do or not do any more updates? If someone can help.

First off, don't let the 1-star rating deter you. This was a great laptop until that one point where I had to return it and get another one that did the exact same thing. I spoke with a very knowledgeable computer tech that told me that this could have just been a bad batch of laptops issued. I love the color, processor, SSD, but the audio issues were not able to be ignored. If they fix the audio issues then this is a winner. Had to opt for the HP Envy x360 with the i5 instead.

responsive system, i like it very much. one thing which bugged me was right side USB port felt very tight my usb thumb drives usb metal housing broke off inside and i had to dig it out using needle nose pliers which caused light scratch marks around the port :( after a few uses it became broken in and was sliding in properly. left side usb was pretty snug as-well but didn't seem too bad after breaking it in. An annoyance with new laptops manufacturers i notice. With the system at full load temps are within 70-80C alot better than my friends mac which is hitting 90-100C I always liked HPs cooling systems on their laptops. Some people will complain its too loud but i dont mind since its keeping the system cool :D Build quality is not too shabby. There is a screw underside of the touchpad thats is angled and poking out otherwise feels sturdy haha... The screen is vibrant i was hoping it would be a little bit brighter at this price point. All in all for what i use it for it is smooth and runs cool that is what i look for a laptop that doesn't get too warm to the touch.

Bought this laptop at a great deal and had no bad experiences with it yet. Typically use it for schoolwork and some light gaming and it fits all my needs with the fast boot up speed and great quality. The fan can get a bit loud during heavy usage but it is still much quieter than my previous laptop. Memory and SSD can also be upgraded for any future proofing.

Unfortunately I experienced a hard drive crash on my Acer laptop while in the field working and did not have time to research my recent purchase of HP Envy x360. Thanks are in order for Best Buy personnel who provided valuable help in this selection. The HP Envy laptop was exactly what I needed and was on sale. ($230 discount). Processor is fast! Very pleased with my purchase.

Overall a really great laptop for the price (especially if it can be found on sale). The ram being in two slots makes it so you have to buy two new sticks for a 16 GB upgrade, but if you don't plan on upgrading this is actually beneficial as the ram is dual channel. Fans are not loud compared to previous laptops I've owned and may kick on a few times when you first use it and the computer is setting up, but mine are practically inaudible in my day to day use now. I was hesitant at first because of the low brightness of the screen, but after using it I'd say it's a reasonable brightness for most people.
Pros:
- Good performance for the price
- Quiet for an 8 core laptop
- Extra features like a fingerprint reader and the ability to cover the camera with the push of a button
- Relatively lightweight for a 15-inch laptop
- Good battery life
- Good port selection
- Build quality is pretty good
Cons:
- Screen brightness
- Only 8 GB of ram
For the price (especially when it goes sub-$800 for sales) there aren't many other laptops that offer as much as this, especially in such a high-quality looking build. Additionally, despite only having 8 GB of RAM, I believe most people will have no issue daily driving this.

Got this for my son. Runs extremely smooth great processor and nice screen. What does well for gaming. Has a fingerprint reader for extra security. Also able to fold in half and use as a tablet with full touch screen. Solid state hard drive makes loading times dramatically lower. Battery seems to do well. As with most new computers there is no disk drive

It's easily the best laptop I've had till date but there's some reoccurring issues, for starters after less then a week of using it whenever I'd have the laptop lid closed for even a few minutes the keyboard and mouse would cease functioning, you can still navigate around this by using the touch screen but it still is annoying. Never had this issue with past laptops and still don't know why this happens (I never have the issue when home or if I have it go to sleep before closing the lid..though even that sometimes doesn't work). Also photos sometimes act up when you attempt to open them but that too eventually fixes itself but it's annoying having that issue right off the bat (past laptops have had that issue though and the way it acts up on this laptop is way better than how my old laptop would). But aside from all of that it's honestly amazing, everything is faster, the touch screen is amazing, and the quality is next level. Worth a purchase for sure.

Battery life is great. I was worried that since this didn't have the better screen option, that I wouldn't like it, but the screen is very clear and resolution meets my needs. Boots fast, very responsive. Feels solid and quality build. Only complaint is more for Microsoft, it failed updates right out of the box, had to manually install some.

Beautiful laptop that works so quickly and can handle all the programs I run at a time I need in order to get my work done - typically, Microsoft Word, Zoom, and an internet browser. The screen is clear for Netflix/Hulu/HBOMax/etc., and the sound is really crisp for Spotify/etc.
It would have been a perfect 5/5 stars if only I did not need to use audio so much. Since I work from home due to COVID, I'm on Zoom for multiple hours in the day for various kinds of meetings/appointments. There are very random times when my audio pauses, thus creating a buzzing noise; the only way I can stop the buzzing noise is by restarting the laptop. There have also been times when I turn on my laptop and the audio just doesn't even start - and I've done thorough checks across different apps to make sure that it's not a specific program that's the problem (e.g., Spotify check; Hulu check; Netflix check; YouTube check; etc.). Since buying and setting up this laptop, I've chatted/received help from HP support countless times up until this point, and they said that the audio driver hasn't been compatible with the AMD system, so they've helped me uninstall/reinstall a more compatible audio driver, as well as uninstall/reinstall a more compatible BIOS system. The audio still gets stuck randomly and the buzzing noise happens, unfortunately. Because of all the audio problems I've had for the month I've had this laptop, I rated this laptop lowly - and, I definitely paid way too much for the qualityI've gotten with this laptop.
If you're one of the few potentially lucky ones who doesn't need to rely on a consistently stable audio system, this may be a 5/5-starred laptop for you.
