We have a 9 speed KichenAid hand mixer for years and the cord free was a option that would fit into our busy cooking kitchen. This mixer was so powerful and great to use with no cord. The different speeds were just right for all my holiday cooking. The design fit great! I ended up buying another for a gift for a friend.

The speeds, and more importantly the ease of navigating between them, makes this a must have. I originally had a cooler cuisinart one, and i returned it just for the fact this mixer has the traditional push-type lever to switch the speeds... this makes it easier to bake & more efficient.
