Great product to have around for the in-between heavier cleaning times. I usually use it in the kitchen/laundry room areas. It still doesn't map exactly each time and gets a bit confused, but that might be due to the placement of several chairs in the kitchen that get moved around. Otherwise, I love how clean the floors come out!

I love the Roomba, it does a great job picking up dog hair on our hardwood floors. The one draw back is the dirt bin is too small. it can't do our whole floor without being emptied at least once. I'm going to buy the automatic dirt disposal base, which is $249.00. This should solve the problem. Also, like other reviews it is loud, but I program mine to go automatically 3 times a week when I'm at work. If your thinking of buying get the combo with the Roomba and automatic disposal base and save yourself some headaches.

This machine has changed my world! I love that I can schedule cleanings with the phone app. It is crazy how much dirt and dog hair this picks up every day! It navigates really well but obviously misses the places it can't access easily but the fact that my floors are pretty darn spotless and I don't have to do it - ranks right up there with dishwashers and washing machines! So far rugs and furniture look fine - but that is my only concern is the very nice rug we have and it getting worn from the little beaters.

Does the job, cleans the house, is able to suck all the dirt up. Would have given it a 5 if it wasn't so loud.

Overall amazed by the memory of the house with no vision and know where obstacles are by slowing down and gently bumping walls and obstacles. It does have issues getting stuck under same chair. A barricade has helped that. The dust and dirt emptied out of the bin is a little disturbing. This explains the sensor to empty bin prior to being full. Must clean/wipe down often. The proof of cleaner floors. May need to get automatic empty bin tower.

I have a cat, and he sheds hair all the time, this does such a good job of even going under the couches to clean up all the dirt and pet dander Dust bin fills up every time I send it for a clean. Good battery life, does what it is meant to do well

Have used our iRobot to clean the carpets in the living room, family room, dining room as well as the wood floors in the kitchen and hallway and entry area. It does a very good job on both surfaces. I have to figure out how to get the iRobot to just vacuum the family room and kitchen only as these rooms need to be vacuum more frequently than the other rooms. Ideally, vacuum 2 rooms every 3 days and the other rooms once a week.

This roomba is a very good product. I wpuld recommend though if you plan on running it more than 2x a week you upgrade to a model with the self cleansing tower. I run it 2x a day and it only has issues with the route algorithm in determining high dirt areas. It picks up 85% of all floor contaminants. The rollers and wheels are very good at collecting hair so tou must preform robot maintenance to ensure that they are clear and i would recommend you clean out vacuum internal chambers 1x a week as they dont self regulate and empty. The app is very good and i higly recomend you use the room zone feature to create sub rooms and thus clean more efficiently. You robot will leave debris at the base station so create a subroom just to clean around itself.

Worth the upgrade from 600 series

The i3 is definitely worth the price of the upgrade from the 600 series. Recently returned my 600 series because it kept getting stuck, which really defeats the purpose of a robot vacuum. I decided to give the i3 a try and I could not be happier with that decision. The suction power is way better, it’s so much quieter, and it hasn’t gotten stuck once yet. The row by row cleaning pattern is also way more efficient than the zig zag pattern of the 600 series. Super happy with this version of the iRobot.

Many of the review requests by retailers come too soon after purchase. Really not enough time to "kick the tires" to perform a true assessment of the product. So my short-term review is positive. The little guy does a thorough touch up job over a wide area. I can go right to mopping after hard surfaces were cleaned by the Roomba. Carpets, as all major reviewers indicate, will need an occasional cleaning with a full size vacuum. Hopefully these comments will hold true over a longer period of time.

We are pleased with and enjoying this unit. This is our 2nd Roomba and we got it after using a lower priced one for several months... My wife said, "I thought this was silly in the beginning, but I really like it." That is as good a testimony as I could ever provide.

    Broke down after a year

I bought this 2 years ago because the Eufy Robovac I had previously had started to have troubles after 3 years. Well after about a year and three months the Roomba i3 started always saying the bin was full even though I empty it and clean it regularly, iRobots customer service informed me it was out of warranty and to repair it would cost almost the same as a new one, so I figured it was a minor nuisance since it would still vacuum and kept going. Now almost exactly two years from the date of purchase, it is stuck saying the filter needs replaced, even though I replaced it and reset it, and will not vacuum because it says the filter is clogged even though it is a new filter. Pretty frustrating, I thought iRobot Roombas were the high end brand to get, but for it to start breaking down barely a year in is very upsetting. Do not recommend this device for regular vacuuming usage.
