This is my 4th one to get because they work so well. I use it at work and home. Got this for my husband to use at work. The mouse can be anywhere and on any surface since the ball makes all the movement on the screen. Really helps to keep hands in a comfortable position while working or just playing on the computer.

Great mouse for a great price! I’ve been using Logitech roller ball mice for about 12 years + and love them! This is my first white one and is an upgrade from the last! Using a Logitech Bluetooth keyboard and mouse I can use them both on the same USB by syncing them. It’s ergonomic design works well with not straining my carpal tunnel pain. Definitely a good buy!

============================= >>>>> Bottom Line Up front: <<<<< ============================= The Logitech ERGO M575 wireless trackball mouse delivers an outstanding level functionality while simultaneously providing exceptional hand/wrist ergonomics and precision cursor control at the same time. It excels in almost every task you can think off and provides a solid wireless solution for those of us who have limited desktop space as well …. the only true exception being hardcore gaming tasks and scenarios. If you haven’t given a trackball style mouse a try – you absolutely owe it to your self to see how and why the M575 delivers on so many levels … from the well-established Logitech quality/support that we have all come to know and trust – to the extremely fair price of the M575 feature set – you simply can’t go wrong. What I liked: =========== - Takes up significantly less diskspace compared to traditional mice - My wrists and hands have never felt better after a hard day at work - Logitech build quality and design is top notch and will last - MSRP does NOT BREAK THE BANK - Deal USB – AND - Bluetooth wireless functionality What I didn’t like so much: ====================== - The exterior surface felt a little odd to me, and would sometimes leave a very minor fingerprint outline/mark after usage (I tried to capture in the review photos) - lacking in significant extra customization - “only” 2 traditional side buttons for forward/back navigation (not counting the two main click buttons and scroll wheel) - did not have the option to select scroll wheel speed/resistance to my liking =============================================== >>>>> Personal Observations after a regular usage: <<<<< =============================================== Logitech is one of those companies that seems to have been around forever to me. I can remember back in the late 90’s/early 00’s when I first began to really “use” their keyboards, mice and headsets daily as part of daily routine and began to care about ergonomics and performance. I say this, because even though it’s been 25+ years – I have never been let down by any of their products and designs that I can think of. Speaking of the early 2000’s … that is about the time I discovered the “trackball” style mouse. Even back them when the likes of Microsoft and IBM were still making trackball devices, I fondly remember having to pop out the tracking ball to clean all the gunk and dirt out from the mechanical rollers in order to keep them going …. but I digress. I had always appreciated the precise cursor control trackball mice back then – however it was the advent of the “optical” mouse really changed the game for me, and I never really looked back or followed the trackball mouse device evolution since then. It is for these reasons I am so blown away by the M575 …. I haven’t really given a trackball mouse device any consideration until now. It is not like I have been living under a rock for the past couple of decades, I knew trackball mice have long since switched to optical inputs, are now wireless and offer many of the same features that we have all come to know, love, and expect…but quality wireless trackball mice were seemingly priced as much as some very reputable gaming grade “regular” mice devices. To me, it was more difficult to justify spending money/time on something that may (in my eyes) may only provide a marginal increase in productivity and comfort …….. boy was I wrong. For the price (current MSRP of $49.99) – I can’t say that is the case anymore. You get a truly “wireless” mouse – with support for BOTH Bluetooth AND a traditional USB style receiver. Again, to me this is awesome because I often switch between multiple PC devices, many of them that have limited (and sometimes NO) USB ports available for additional peripherals. Building on that functionality, I had completely forgotten how much less space is required when you are working with a trackball style mouse (compared to my traditional mouse’s 13x11 mouse pad surface area requirement). The ERGO M575 made it so much easier on my wrists after just one day as my daily driver (putting my trusty G502 Lightspeed for a well-earned/much-needed vacation). I happen to work with large databases, lines of code, and large spreadsheets for what seems likes a never-ending daily basis - and the ERGO M575 provided super smooth, ultra-precise control of my cursor the entire time thanks to the tunable (400 DPI - 2000 DPI) sensitivity rating with the Logitech Options Software (which is an optional - but you REALLY should download it to unlock all the features that the M575 has to offer). Logitech claims the ERGO M575 will 24 months on a single battery (which they kindly include with the device) …. I repeat….2 years….with the USB receiver. Sure, you lose some months (approximately 4 months off that previous number to be precise) if you chose to operate it in Bluetooth mode, but seriously…it’s hard not to complain. I can’t speak to how well/accurate the battery life to these claims – but based on my decades of experience with wireless Logitech products – they have NEVER been really off in their estimates – so I have no reason to doubt their claims here. Some people might think the lack of having a “built-in” rechargeable battery is a bad thing … but I strongly disagree. ALL BUILT IN BATTERIES will require replacement at some point in time (depending on usage, sometimes sooner than later) and are generally NOT USER SERVICEABLE. The ERGO M575 wisely have a user-friendly battery compartment that allow YOU to choose what type of battery/cell to place inside, and enables you to provide your own brand of high-performance rechargeable batteries if you should so choose. I also dig that they include a nice little recessed spot inside the battery compartment to store the USB receiver when not in use. It is little touches like that I appreciate from the product engineering department. As much as I appreciated everything ERGO M575 has brought to the table, it may not be perfect for everyone and ever task. As I mentioned previously, I don’t think this is the best solution for PC gaming or software usage that requires a large number of customizable buttons/presets/macros either. The M575 could also benefit from a user selectable scroll wheel (it only has the “clicky/knobby” style feel by default, but I think that is because I have become so spoiled with Logitech’s other mice that have the optional ability to use a type of smother “hyper” scroll that is much better for viewing/editing long documents/pages – so unfortunately, I kind of expect it on everything now. I don’t exactly have “large hands, and for me the ERGO M575 doesn’t “feel” too large to be unusable – quite the opposite as I have pointed out – but at the same time I felt like my hand was “resting on it” versus completely “driving” the device, however I think this is primarily due to the ergonomic design of the M575 and obvious trackball design style. Lastly, you WILL still have to pop out the track ball from time to time to get dirt/gunk/grime off of it (and possibly the optical sensors underneath it) – but it is super easy to do, and require maybe 30 seconds of time if/when that ever should occur. ========================== >>>>> Closing thoughts: <<<<< ========================== The Logitech ERGO M575 is a lot of mouse tech for a relatively low price. If you haven’t tried a trackball before – this is the one to get. You won’t spend a fortune, and even if you don’t use all the time – as an additional to your other standard peripherals/input devices – the times you do use the M575 – your wrists and desk will thank you for it. I have had such an enjoyable time with the ERGO M575 I really kick myself for not keeping up with the innovations and changes that Logitech has brought into this particular device field.

A Nice Ergonomic Option For Any Office

The Logitech ERGO M575 Wireless Trackball Mouse with Smooth Tracking is a nice change of pace in office for various reasons. Before we get into more, let’s talk about what’s in the box and the setup. Inside the box, you will find the mouse and some simple instructions. Within the mouse, you will find a USB dongle and a AA battery. To complete the setup, you can either attach the USB dongle to the computer or push the button on the bottom for a Bluetooth connection. I decided to go with the Bluetooth connection and it went smooth. As someone who spends a lot of time in the office, it’s important that things are comfortable and stay that way for long periods of time. Within the last year, I discovered that the standard mouse started to create forearm and elbow issues. Here’s where the ERGO M575 comes in to help things out. The tilt and elevation of the mouse helps to alleviate fatigue and strain on the arm and hand. While this model isn’t as pronounced, it still sets the hand placement at a good position. To go along with that, the added feature of a trackball helps out too. It may take a little time to get used to the thumb trackball, but it’s smooth and works well. The response time is great. Plus I can keep my arm in one place and not have to worry about deskspace either. All in all, the Logitech ERGO M575 is a great selection for someone looking to improve the ergonomics of their desk or has limited space. With the option of simple connections, it doesn’t get any easier to set up and use right away either.

The Logitech Ergo M575 cordless trackball is a fine solution to the problem of limited desk space and it is a valuable accessory for every laptop user who is frustrated with the inaccuracy and clumsiness of trackpads. My opinion on this trackball may be a bit biased because I just love Logitech products – they are always superbly engineered, are packed with great features and have always given me long and very reliable service. Logitech was founded in Apples, Switzerland in 1981. Its first product was a computer mouse in 1982 that was adopted by several computer manufacturers (including Apple.) Later it was the first company to offer a replacement mouse to the consumer market. Logitech introduced wireless mice, optical mice and trackballs. By 2008 Logitech had produced over one billion mice. The Logitech mouse was followed by a wide variety of high quality products including a handheld scanner, keyboards, a digital camera, webcams, speakers and microphones. It acquired Harmony, the industry standard for programmable multi-equipment remote control devices, in 2004, then purchased Ultimate Ears, a creator of outstanding Bluetooth speakers, in 2008, bought Jaybird, a premier manufacturer of very fine Bluetooth earphones, in 2016 and most recently, acquired Astro Gaming in 2017. Here are the key features of this great trackball: • Logitech Ergo M575 wireless trackball mouse TR0006, (receiver C-U0008) • Ergonomic comfort design for right-hand use • Dual connectivity (Logitech Unifying USB receiver or low energy Bluetooth) • Wireless range approximately 33 feet • Powered by 1.5V AA battery (included) • Typical battery life: USB receiver - 24 months, Bluetooth connection – 20 months • Includes 2.4 GHz USB unifying receiver (stored in battery compartment) • Trackball compatible with Windows, MacOS, iOS, Android, Linux operating systems • Functions: trackball, left/right buttons, back/forward buttons, precision scroll wheel with middle click • Trackball resolution adjustable from 400 dpi to 2000 dpi • Engineered to perform more than 3 million clicks accurately • Trackball is easily removed for cleaning • Logitech Options software to customize mouse features and vary resolution (tracking speed) • Dimensions: 3.9 inches W x 5.3 D x 1.9 inches H • Weight: 5.1 ounces • Made of 50% recycled plastics and packaged in paper products from FSC certified forests • One year warranty The Ergo M575 is positioned, in both price and features, between the entry-level M570 trackball (which is about half the M575 price) and the top-of-the-line MX trackball (which costs about twice as much as the M575). Logitech designed the Ergo M575 with beautiful ergonomic details which allow you to comfortably rest your hand on it while it cradles your little finger and provides your thumb with a nice position on the trackball. There is a subtle grooved texture on the palm rest and the right side (where your little finger would grip) as well as a non-reflective, anti-slip black matte texture coating on the main body of the trackball. This very nice exterior is compatible with Logitech’s premier MX line of pointing accessories. The trackball itself is positioned and sized to allow efficient, accurate cursor manipulation. Just to the left of your index finger are two programmable buttons (typically assigned to back/forward). Your index and middle finger rest on the large primary left and right click buttons. A precision scroll wheel between the left/right buttons can be used for other functions (such as magnifying/reducing the size of text or spreadsheets). Pressing down on the scroll wheel serves as a middle button click. The bottom of the mouse has five rubber grip pads, the battery compartment, an on/off switch and the button to change between Bluetooth and USB receiver connection. Cleverly hidden (almost too clever, because I didn’t find it at first!) in the battery compartment Is the unifying USB receiver. I have other wireless accessories which connect with a USB receiver so I don’t need to use this one, but having it stored here is a nice bonus in the event I ever need another USB receiver. For me, the three most important aspects of the Logitech Ergo M575 cordless trackball are the ergonomic design, the choice of connection (USB receiver or Bluetooth) and the customization flexibility provided by the Logitech Options software. Research studies have confirmed that trackballs can alleviate the risk of carpal tunnel syndrome. Once you get used to the basic thumb control, you will appreciate not having to move your right hand all over your work surface. This is also great for those with small (or very cluttered!) desktops. The ergonomic design of the M575 has been given very high marks by tech industry comparative reviews. Having a choice of Bluetooth or USB receiver connection gives added versatility. If you have a tablet or a PC with limited USB ports you will appreciate the Bluetooth connection option. It has a small penalty in battery life (20 months vs. 24 months for the USB receiver) but the connection speed and sensitivity is essentially the same. I used the Bluetooth connection with an Amazon Fire tablet and it worked perfectly. If you have a smart TV with a web browser and Bluetooth connectivity this trackball would be a great replacement for the clumsy navigation afforded by your TV remote. Finally, the great Logitech Options software gives you the ability to remap the function of the buttons and customization for specific applications. But its best feature is the control over tracking speed/sensitivity which it provides. First time trackball users usually complain that they have to move their thumb too much or that the cursor moves too quickly. You can eliminate these problems by adjusting the tracking speed. The Options software allows you to set the tracking speed/sensitivity from a low of 400 dpi to a high of 2000 dpi. Somewhere between these two extremes you will find the best setting to give you accurate and quick control over your cursor. With the correct tracking speed this trackball is more than adequate even for the most stringent demands of Cad-Cam and Photoshop duties. You can also use the Options software to change the button assignments to defaults appropriate for the application you are working on. The model that I tested was a very attractive black (graphite) but the Ergo M575 is also available in off-white – a nice choice for those who want to color-coordinate their computer accessories. One last point. If you can afford the extra cost, consider upgrading to the Logitech MX Ergo Trackball. It does everything the M575 can do and adds a number of other nifty features. In fact, look at all of the Logitech MX accessories (keyboard and mouse). All are superb and you can read my Best Buy reviews of the MX Master 3 mouse and MX Keys keyboard for my full evaluation. But if your budget tops out at the price of the M575 you certainly won’t go wrong. I am delighted to give the beautifully engineered Logitech Ergo M575 trackball five stars and my full and unreserved recommendation!
