Customers highly value the V15 Detect Cordless Vacuum's powerful suction, long battery life, and ease of use. Many appreciate the laser-assisted cleaning and lightweight design, while some find the price to be a significant drawback. Other minor concerns include the need to continuously hold the trigger and the relatively small dustbin capacity.

Powerful vacuum- even without a cord!

Ive had the opportunity to use several brands of vacuums in my home, but none have come close to the power and quality of Dyson.
I have hard wood, tile, fluffy carpet, and even Berber carpet in my home. My existing Dyson is 13 years old, so I am due for an upgrade. My first thought was “How on earth can I clean my entire home with a cordless vacuum”.... well I stopped worrying about that after my first use. I was able to sweep every single room with hardwood and tile with the slim hardwood floor head. The laser beam on here is pretty cool. It actually does show dust and debris that I would not see otherwise. Kind of eye opening to see how much dust you have on your floors that you never knew was there. You have the option to turn the laser off, but I like it on. It helps me ensure I get everything. Then I threw on the carpet attachment, and was able to finish my entire house with battery life to spare. The carpet head sucked up a ton of stuff my existing vacuum missed. Ok, I’m impressed.... I know technology has improved over time but wow this is nice! I also have the option to put the vacuum into eco mode (longer battery, less power), normal mode, or a turbo mode ( more power, less battery). I like that for when I’m doing some heavy cleaning. It also has a digital read out that tells my the size of the dust particles I’m sweeping up, cool to know, not a deal maker/breaker. The dust bin isn’t huge, but I only had to empty it one time before I was finished sweeping the whole house. The vacuum did seem heavy at first when I was putting it together and carrying it around my house, but as soon as I set it down to use and used it as it was intended, I didn’t notice the weight at all. So don’t worry about that! That said, I’m still impressed. I’d buy this in a heartbeat.
Bottom line is this is a powerhouse of a vacuum that more than delivered and beat even my highest expectations. I have no hesitations about throwing out my old vacuum and using this one as my new vacuum. Even without a cord!

OMG - The V15 makes Mega-Maide from the SB movie seem like a dust-buster from the 80's!
FINALLY - Dyson added a feature that came standard on every Hoover since, well Hoover was president - A LIGHT!!!
But it isn't your old-fashioned halogen bulb or modern LED, the hard surface attachment uses a green laser that is projected on a horizontal plane to highlight all of the tiny little bits of debris you can't see with your naked eye on light colored hard surfaces. That's right, Dyson has "freaking laser beams" now!
The carpet attachment has a nice detangling feature to keep hairs and string from getting wrapped around the reels, but alas...there is no light or laser beam so no vacuuming carpet in the dark, LOL.
If left in the "Auto" speed/suction setting though, whether using the hard surface or carpet attachment, there is an awesome auto-detect feature that kicks the device into the highest suction level when heavy pollen or debris is detected. It will then go back to a lower suctions setting once it stops detecting heavy debris.
It works better on thee carpet than my Dyson ball and the battery life is pretty good 30-40+ minutes on medium and 15-20 minutes on heavy, soiled carpet.
I've only had it for a few months though so I'm holding my breath to see if the battery life holds up better than my V8..which I've had to replace 3 times because it stops holding a charge after a year or so. Fortunately the V15 comes with a 2 year manufacturer warranty which I believe covers the battery too.

Dyson is doing again moving the high expectation

This is review of Dyson v15 Detect newly introduced with variety of technology elements.
These elements are engineered cleaner head, powerful motor, intelligent mode, LCD screen with data references, advanced filtration, and wide option of accessories.
But first, to give context of the further down details, it is result of comparing to the experience of using Dyson Cinetic Big Ball Canister Vacuum and V6 vacuum and its Slim version for about 5 years minimum.
Now, my experience in short time of usage and the first impression at glance:
A) What I liked most was the quite low and smooth level of engine noise and independence from cord for deep cleaning of carpet and hard floor.
B) What didn’t like were multiple factors at glance: 1) battery charging time, 2) can’t vacuum entire house with one full charge of battery, 3) need to switch the cleaner head between floor type 4) wand is not extendable.
Its most noticeable feature is the cleaner head for hard floor which has option to turn on/off to reveal microscopic dust with laser, secondly the high torque cleaner head for carpet floor type and both are included in the package. With this, vacuuming on the carpet, it has done well the job of grabbing the dust that are note visible or tangible from the surface. The vacuuming experience itself felt alike using a upright style vacuums as you push hardly toward the floor and naturally without cord that ease as one doesn’t have worry about tangling cord as move around.
And using the cleaner head for carpet feels heavier than using cleaner head for hard floor as its size and wight is heavier and bigger. Then as vacuum around, can see the data references from the LCD pertinent to picked-up particles, run time count down and level of power selected which can be changed as work. But I was not quite paying attention to those information except for remaining level of battery that somehow was still guessing game for first few usage. And it worth to note that the battery indicator is more effective in a sense of delivering the message showing in percentage charged that is only available while charging status. If not it during the usage shows three icons with level of battery as select from Eco, Boost and Auto fro which I couldn’t tell how much left of battery.
Then vacuuming the carpet under bookshelf is bit hard due to the thickness of the neck in a style of ball on the connection of the cleaner head and wand. The using crevice and combination tool is straight forward and usual as is in rest of Dyson vacuums.
And using the hair doesn’t get tangled in the any of brush used. And the new addition of Dyson Hair Tool is sturdy and effective removing hair from any surface. Didn’t have to remove the hair from the brush roll. But this was the same experience with the two cleaner head. And this is quite helpful as at least with my existing vacuum after completion had to spend a moment to remove tangled hair. However, it become something to pay attention when cleaning or emptying the bin to de described separately.
A note on the cleaner head. Based on usage of canister and V6, which has its cleaner head version, the black brush or hair in it get wear out or of cut off after some usage. For this reason had to replace the brush roll several time. But for V15 Detect, it looks better glued or it is put together with a rubber like material. And its angle of placement is diagonal. But the material itself feels the same hence kind of have to use number of time to tell if it has been improved in that sense.
On the subject of how much of dust or dirt get removed from the carpet, with using the Eco/Medium mode, after having vacuumed with V15 the entire carpet area, immediately vacuumed with Cinetic Big Ball Canister Vacuum same area. The expectation was nothing would have picked up, but the result was it did still pick up dust.
The Laser slim Fluffy cleaner head this is totally new. It has the laser guide to turn on/off to see dust on the hard floor. The roll is made of a sponge like material that as it moves and does a sort of wiping action and suction the dust inward to the bin. It is quite imaginative such that the dust doesn’t stay on the roll. Then with the laser guidance, it help to see what is not visible with bear eyes and it was more effective on the wood hard floor type. However, in certain parts I had to pass twice to get it removed from the floor.
On the same cleaner head, it has rear soleplate that has blue soft material, and this seems glued and same as the one used for Cinetic version. This come to mention because as use, somehow it comes off and mostly hard to place back or have to replace the part.
Using the rest of accessories, it help to reach areas that are alike corner and small spaces. But two observations, one is that if one is user of other Dyson models and have wide variety of accessories, those doesn’t fit as the size of the join is different. Secondly to use in the narrow spaces the bin size get on the way to reach deeper or using with wand one has to stand in quite odd positions and uncomfortable . And using to reach the overhead or high ceilling is not practical as is heavy to use with the wand.
Then during the usage after about 15 min, it feels fatigue between the fingers as press the trigger. During the usage, have to adjust way of grabbing differently.
The V15 also in its material describe the run time will calibrate as it is learning machine that continuously improve the performance with use. In this aspect I can’t tell the different from three time used between day of having started to use to this day of review. But if that is true my guess is the battery would last longer to complete vacuuming the same area, but for these would require follow up.
To finish, V15 Detect seems to do well for what is intended in the design, which is remove micro particles, deeper vacuum on carpet and these being supported with nicely put together elements of laser, lcd screen with data reference, and cleaner head with its own power. And it comes with reasonable number of accessories.
However, for the price point feels it comes bit short in a following aspects;
- The pickup particle information doesn’t fee need during the vacuuming process as I can’t act on it or prevent any thing based on that information.
- On the data reference again, it would be more useful to have them from an App to understand them and have suggestion or alike to take action.
- It is meant to finish the job in one hour if fully charged. This feel like using mobile phone that put the mental mode to rush to finish what ever before the battery die. And this is a problem if one have area to cover and usually would finish in two hours span.
- Charging the battery takes too long. For full charge takes about 4 hours and half. To charge about 15% took me about one hour and half.
- Doesn’t come with second battery to ease above situation and most probably need to buy separately which is bit awkward considering premium level of the product that has all the details considered.
In conclusion, as for my need I can’t complete whole house cleaning, I wouldn’t recommend it, but it serve for specific category of need like small area or need for quick vacuum that would do the work right

After owning a cordless Dyson a couple years ago and the battery dying less than 6 months of owning it I said never again! Well being skeptical and reading reviews and needing dining smaller and versatile that wasn’t bulky and heavy I decided to go ahead and purchase the Dyson v15 and so far I love it, so far the battery is great and the suction power is excellent! We have a German shepherd and the hair is crazy! This is perfect and does the job, the laser is a plus if you have ocd like me! The attachments are also great I can go from furniture to carpet to hardwood easy. I cleane my furniture regularly because of my German shepherd and when I got this I used it on my furniture not thinking it’ll do much because I clean it regularly and keep pet covers on at all times, well I was totally shocked to see it got dust from my furniture after I already cleaned it! I’m completely satisfied with my purchase so far, I hope for the money I spent it’ll continue to satisfy me for a while!

The Dyson V15 Detect Cordless Vacuum in Yellow/Nickel is a cutting-edge cleaning tool that truly stands out in the world of cordless vacuums. As an owner of this sleek and high-performance device, I'm excited to share my thoughts in this review.
First and foremost, the V15 Detect's suction power is nothing short of exceptional. Its Hyperdymium motor provides impressive suction strength, effortlessly picking up dirt, debris, and even fine particles from various surfaces. Whether it's hardwood floors, carpets, or tile, this vacuum leaves no trace behind, making it an ideal choice for homes with diverse flooring.
One of the standout features of the V15 Detect is its laser dust detection system. The green laser illuminates particles that are usually invisible to the naked eye, making it easy to spot and clean even the tiniest dust specks. This feature is not only fascinating but also highly practical for allergy sufferers or anyone aiming for spotless floors.
The HEPA filtration system in the V15 ensures that the air expelled is exceptionally clean, making it an excellent choice for households with pets or allergies. It effectively traps allergens and dust, improving indoor air quality.
The cordless design offers unmatched convenience. The vacuum's battery life is decent, and the included docking station makes charging and storage hassle-free. The V15 is also surprisingly lightweight and maneuverable, allowing for easy access to tight spaces and above-floor cleaning.
The hygienic point-and-shoot bin emptying system is a game-changer. It keeps your hands clean while disposing of dirt and debris with a simple push of a button, eliminating the need to touch the contents of the bin.
While the V15 Detect Cordless Vacuum offers a plethora of impressive features, it comes with a higher price tag. However, if you're willing to invest in a top-tier vacuum cleaner that excels in performance, convenience, and innovation, the Dyson V15 Detect is worth every penny.
In conclusion, the Dyson V15 Detect Cordless Vacuum in Yellow/Nickel is a powerhouse cleaning tool that sets a new standard in cordless vacuum technology. Its exceptional suction power, laser dust detection, and HEPA filtration make it a must-have for those seeking a truly superior cleaning experience. Though it's an investment, its performance and features justify the cost for those who prioritize cleanliness and convenience in their homes.

Make Vacuuming Fun Again

I've owned a couple of previous Dyson cordless vacuums, including the V7 Fluffy and the V11 Torque Drive. After purchasing the V11 and using it for a couple of years, I was convinced that Dyson had reached the peak of cordless vacuum technology. Now, with the V15 Detect, Dyson has taken the excellent foundation of the V11 and added some killer new features. Once again, I'm left wondering -- How can vacuuming get any better than this? Dyson has one-upped themselves yet again.
=== UNBOXING AND OVERVIEW ===
- If you've owned any previous Dyson cordless model, you'll feel right at home here. The V15 is extremely easy to unbox and set up, though be prepared to sift through a lot of cardboard and protective packaging to find everything in the box.
- This particular model features a glossy grey stainless steel-looking color on the wand. It looks great but is a fingerprint magnet.
- The V15 Detect comes with two cleaner heads (the Laser Slim Fluffy and the High Torque) and five attachments (hair screw tool; soft dusting brush; crevice tool; combination tool; and stubborn dirt brush).
- Dyson recommends charging the vacuum for at least 4.5 hours or until 100% before first use.
- The biggest selling points of the new V15 are the angled laser on the Fluffy head to easily reveal dust as well as the new sensors that optimize suction based on floor type and the amount of dust detected. The included LCD screen actually shows you the total amount of debris and dust collected (measured in micrometers) as you vacuum. More on all of this below.
=== LASER SLIM FLUFFY HEAD PERFORMANCE ===
- For me, the new laser Fluffy head is the best past of the V15, by far. I live in an apartment that consists of 90% laminate flooring, and my floors have never felt so clean. Gone are the days of wondering if you've actually picked up all of the dust and crumbs on your hard floor. As you can see in the attached photo, there is a green laser on the right side of the Fluffy head that projects at a 90-degree angle.
- The laser works great, though it is a bit dim on the left side of the head. Regardless, I have found dust and crumbs in places on my floor that I never thought were there. The laser reveals even the smallest amount of dust and hair so you can be sure you don't miss anything.
- The laser does not work very well in a bright room. For the best performance, I have to turn off most of my lights and close my blinds. Not a huge deal to me as that is a small price to pay for a clean floor.
- The laser can be turned off via a small switch on the head itself, though it's unclear what impact this has on battery life (probably little or none).
=== HIGH TORQUE CLEANER HEAD ===
- This cleaner head is mainly for use on rugs and carpet, though it can also be used on hard floors. Unlike previous versions of the torque drive cleaner head, this "High Torque" version has polycarbonate teeth which prevents hair from tangling around the bristles.
- Once again, it works as advertised. I have vacuumed my bedroom carpet extensively with this cleaner head and have not noticed any hair wrapped around the bristles -- it all makes its way into the bin.
- Like the Fluffy head, the High Torque head will adjust the vacuum's suction based on floor type and carpet thickness to maximize battery life and cleaning performance. On both cleaner heads, you can choose Eco, Auto, or Boost modes via a button below the LCD screen. Boost mode obviously provides the best performance but there is a big hit to battery life.
=== OTHER FEATURES AND THOUGHTS ===
- Another new feature of the V15 is the measurement of debris and particles collected. Results are shown on the LCD screen as you clean. The machine measures particles in sizes of 10, 60, 180, and 500 micrometers, which is roughly the equivalent of pollen, skin flakes, fine sand, and fleas, respectively. I live in a very dusty climate and it has been a revelation to see just how many fine particles have been sitting on my floor and floating throughout my apartment.
- Like previous Dyson vacuums, the V15 is very easy to clean and maintain. The point-and-shoot design of the canister makes it very easy to empty debris directly into a trash can. The filter keeps dust out of the air and is easy to clean by just running it under a faucet.
- Dyson claims that the V15 will provide "up to 60 minutes of run time," although this certainly varies based on the cleaner head used as well as the performance mode you have selected. I typically keep it on Auto and battery life has not been an issue. Luckily, the V15 comes standard with a click-in battery pack that is easily swappable. So if you have a larger home, it might be worth picking up a spare battery pack to always have one charged.
- I was pleasantly surprised to see that the V15 fits perfects in my V11 Floor Dok (see photo). To get it to charge in the Dok, I had to add a bit of padding in the charging cradle underneath the plug/barrel to raise it up higher. The charging port on the V15 is a bit more recessed than that of the V11, so you have to make the barrel protrude a bit further up from the Dok.
=== OVERALL ===
The Dyson V15 Detect is a game-changer for those with large areas of hard floors. Forget the brooms, Swiffers, and clunky old vacuums – this will be your new favorite cleaning tool. The addition of the laser Fluffy head and the debris measurements are invaluable for someone like me who enjoys a clean home. Call me crazy, but the V15 makes me actually look forward to vacuuming! The versatility and expandability of this machine is also unmatched by any other brand. Highly recommended!

This vacuum is extremely versatile. For the most part i leave it's suction in auto mode. it's interesting when you're pushing it along and you hear it suddenly pick up in force, so you make sure to give extra attention to that area.
When cleaning couch cushions, and car interiors, i tend to put it into boost and use the special hair tool attachment. It did an excellent job with short and long dog fur, where you really need that extra power.
I do appreciate the wide variety of heads and attachments, you can practically get anywhere given the diversity of them. I'm a fan of the laser head for when doing hardwood floors/tile. I expected it to be a silly gimmick, but when you have the laser on, you'd be surprised at how much you can't see with the naked eye. This is especially handy in dark nooks or under couches to get a better idea if you've missed a spot or not.
In regards to the particle count, i again thought it'd be a gimmick, but after watching the report of the various size of picked up particles, it makes me want to look into my furnace filter and see if i should upgrade to something better. I'm curious if it'll help reduce some of the larger particles circulating throughout the house.
Clean up is quick and easy, but read the instructions if you're new to these vacuums. I thought the canister popped off and you dumped it like many others. i didn't realize just the front opened and poured out, so i ended up dumping it all over on my floor. Thankfully, it is such a good vacuum that i recleaned it in no time.
what i would have liked is for better accessory storage. with the tube clip and the the wall mount you still can't connect every head that it came with, so I'll have to stick the rest in a bin or hope to find a third part accessory to mount the other heads to (they gave 7 heads, but you can only store/connect 5, which includes 1 attached to the unit itself)

I recently purchased the Dyson V15 and it has completely exceeded my expectations. As someone who values both portability and utility in a vacuum cleaner, this model strikes the perfect balance.
First and foremost, its deep cleaning abilities are unparalleled. The V15's suction power is remarkable, effortlessly capturing even the most stubborn dirt and debris from various surfaces. Whether it's carpets, hardwood floors, or upholstery, this vacuum delivers exceptional cleaning performance every time.
One of the standout features of the Dyson V15 is its innovative laser light technology for detecting micro particles. This is truly a game-changer. The laser light reveals hidden dust and allergens that would otherwise go unnoticed, ensuring a thorough and comprehensive clean. It's astonishing to see the difference it makes in terms of capturing even the tiniest particles that can impact indoor air quality.
What sets the Dyson V15 apart from its competitors is that there is simply nothing comparable on the market today. The advanced technology and engineering behind this model place it in a league of its own. It outshines other vacuums in terms of deep cleaning capabilities, precision, and performance.
In addition to its outstanding cleaning prowess, the Dyson V15 is also impressively portable. Its lightweight design and maneuverability make it a breeze to clean hard-to-reach areas, whether it's under furniture or up high on shelves. The convenience of cordless operation further enhances its usability, allowing for hassle-free cleaning without any limitations.
Overall, I am extremely satisfied with my purchase of the Dyson V15. It strikes the perfect balance between portability and utility, making cleaning tasks effortless and efficient. Its deep cleaning abilities and laser light technology for detecting micro particles are truly best in class, setting a new standard for the industry. If you're looking for a vacuum cleaner that surpasses expectations and offers unmatched performance, the Dyson V15 is the one to go for.

Must have for hard floors - Also LASERS!

I currently own a Dyson Big Ball Cinetic vacuum, and I've been interested in a cordless Dyson for some time. The Dyson V15 Cordless Vacuum is extremely powerful, and has more than enough suction for both hard surfaces and carpet.
If you are looking for a primarily hard floor vacuum, I can't recommend this vacuum highly enough. I would give it a 10 out of 5 stars if I could for the hard surface innovative technology they put into this vacuum, which I'll go into further later.
If you are looking primarily for a carpet vacuum, I would suggest going with an upright vs this cordless model. The cordless model definitely cleans carpet well and has incredible suction, but the bin fills quickly and is awkwardly difficult to push on carpet. Don't get me wrong, it absolutely will get the job done, and for my house that is 75% hard floors and 25% carpet, it may end up being my preferred vacuum overall if I'm only vacuuming a single room at a time, but I found myself emptying the bin several times cleaning a single room, so a larger canister would be preferred.
THE LASER
The hard surface attachment, give the name "Laser Slim Fluffy cleaner head" is an absolute game changer for hard surfaces. It's literally mind blowing, and the attached photos will showcase why. Areas where I wouldn't have thought to clean, such as behind a book case lit up when the green laser shined on the area, and I couldn't help but move the bookcase to clean up what is admittedly a disgusting amount of dust and hair that had accumulated.
Not only is it practical to have dust and hair highlighted by a laser when cleaning the floors, it also gives a sense of accomplishment when the job is complete and the laser no longer shows signs of any nasty things remaining to be cleaned. I feel better about the clean because there is physical evidence that something is different now vs before I cleaned. To be honest, it has made me more interested in cleaning more frequently as well because I can really tell when it's making a difference or not. Surprisingly, the central walkway areas are actually pretty clean already. The sides of the walkways and the walls are where the dust and hair accumulate. It makes sense, but I never would have realized it without this laser attachment.
I did find the laser works better in darker environments. I actually vacuumed my laundry room and bathroom without turning on a light, and it made it easier to see the dust that collected and was picked up.
The slim profile allowed me to clean underneath a cabinet we have in one of our bathrooms. Though I wouldn't go so far as to say it was "easy", I wouldn't have cleaned the space at all with my normal vacuum, so it definitely is a bonus of using the handheld.
The vacuum comes with a number of other attachments, one for cleaning pet hair, one smaller attachment for smaller spaces, and another brush I imagine might be used when vacuuming out a car. Overall though, I'm most likely going to keep the laser attachment on and likely use my upright vacuum for carpet.
Some minor negatives:
Weight: Although it's a handheld vacuum, using it for extended periods of time or lifting it to try and vacuum awkward spaces isn't as carefree and easy as you might see in a commercial. I imagine my wife cleaning her entire car with this might be fairly taxing. It's not a dealbreaker, but it's something to be mindful of depending on the job you're looking the vacuum to do.
Canister size and design: The vacuum sports an "easy to use" release lever that pushes the junk out of the canister into the trash. Generally pushing this lever up and down several times will get rid of the dust and hair, but it's not a simple one push empty I imagined it would be. Additionally, the canister doesn't fill up evenly so even though the left half of the canister was mostly empty, the right side filled up and overflowed past the rubber stopper that separates the canister from the filter system. This creates a situation where when emptying the canister, I had to reach up inside and pull hair out of the rubber gasket, dirtying my hands and defeating the purpose of the quick release lever. The canister also filled up very quickly. I imagine that's partly due to our negligence in up keeping the room I had vacuumed (it had been a while), but having to empty the canister several times in a single room was not ideal. Lastly, in order to empty the canister, the hose has to be disconnected from the main canister, adding an additional step to an already less-than-perfect process.
I will say that the canister expulsion does work better than what is in my Dyson upright. It's not a bad design, but it could use some refining, and the rubber gasket should do a better job of keeping collected dust and hair out of the filtration chamber.
Battery: There is an on-screen display that provides an estimate of time remaining while using the vacuum that automatically adjusts based on usage. I found when switching from the hard flooring to carpet that the run time cut in half. On hard floor, It estimated ~40 minutes remaining shortly after a full charge. I switched to the carpet attachment when it was at ~36 minutes remaining, and the estimated time dropped in half to ~18 minutes. This was fortunately enough time for me to complete what I had set out to vacuum, but really necessitates a full charge between any prolonged use. The battery was "good enough" but I wouldn't say it excelled. I imagine to get the "up to 1 hour" of runtime, that may be perhaps with no moving attachment, such as when vacuuming a car.
MIXED
Advanced whole-machine filtration: This is a bit of a mixed feature. Dyson claims the air expelled from the vacuum is cleaner than the air we normally breathe. I think that innovation is amazing, and I'm glad to know that the powerful gust of air shooting out of the vacuum isn't further spewing allergens into the air. That said, the placement of the "blower" that expels air made vacuuming my office space very awkward. It's positioned on the side of the vacuum, so vacuuming around my desk caused papers to fly off my desk onto the floor, which was double inconvenient because I had to stop vacuuming to pick them up before I could vacuum the spot they fell on. The Dyson is powerful, which means there is a ton of air expelled to create the awesome suction that it has. It was nearly comical when papers 6 feet away would get blown right off a desk, but after the 4th time stopping the vacuum to pickup papers, it became a bit frustrating.
The LCD screen: Displays a cumulation of the particles that it picked up so you can see whether there are more allergen particles vs skin flakes or dust mites. It's neat I guess, but I'm not sure that information is actually useful to me.
All that said, for hard floors, I absolutely love this vacuum and can't recommend it highly enough. I'll say it again -- LASERS. It really is a functional game changer for house cleanliness and not gimmicky at all.
If you have have primarily hard floors, buy this Dyson V15 Detect, and you will not be disappointed.

I've been using the v7 for years now, and have liked it though the battery was a little short on that. I expected a little upgrade with the v15, but got a whole lot more. First, the battery is much better (even new the v7 was maybe 20 min, this is close to 60), second, the way you clean it out is improved (with the point and shot bin), and third, the intelligence works great as I have multiple floor types and it changes depending on the one I'm on. The performance is also great and it picks up much more compared to a few other vacuums and shop vacuums I've tried.
If you don't already own a Dyson, and are comparing vacuums, this is one I highly suggest as it works better than anything I've used. You also get a lot of different ends to be able to use this on so many things.

I have never owned a Dyson before, I've been a shark user. I was looking for a lightweight vacuum that I can use on my main living area that is easy to use and maneuver. I looked at so many different ones an went back and forth and finally settled on this one. It works so well on my laminate flooring. I love the laser, it shows so much dirt/dust. It is so satisfying to see it disappear. I vacuumed the upstairs living area and when I got to the basement stairs I took it down the stairs and did almost all of the basement on one charge. I use it without turning the lights on because the laser lights up the area to be vacuumed. I used it on our carpets too and I was shocked at how well it cleaned them. I have vacuumed them a few days before with my shark and I didn't think there would be much to vacuum up, but there was. I just love this vacuum so much and am so glad that I picked this one. It is very easy to vacuum under the dining room table and the couch.
