I've been doing everything off my android phone for over fifteen years, so, this was a major upgrade for me. Looks great and sleek, but, more importantly it just works amazingly. It's quick and has plenty of power and memory for everything I need which is nice to have in a set package and to not overbuy by upgrading ridiculously thinking I need more... everything. Touch screen is nice and responsive. When did touch screens become a thing for laptops? I'm so behind in the tech world I'm almost a luddite. Anyway, I'll just say if this is within your budget and you won't be film editing or composing operas, but, need something that has somewhat upper mid-range capabilities than this might be a good choice for you.

    Best Laptop I’ve Owned

I’ve bought this and one other HP almost identical to this one except it has a 10 key number pad. It is a phenomenal laptop, looks great, works great and is fast. I was surprised how much I’ve enjoyed the touchscreen when browsing the web or getting work done. I don’t use tablet mode much but it easily and flawlessly switches into that and works as a large tablet. I could see kids loving to play games on it and I would feel more comfortable with mine using it since the screen is much easier on the eyes than a smartphone or tablet. If your on the fence, get it! Best laptop I’ve owned.

This laptop is very versatile and provides you with many ways to use it. I haven’t had many issues with it and it made my first two years of college less stressful as I was able to have everything I needed on the laptop and was very efficient when trying to get the programs I needed. The only thing is that one of tue hinges is starting to become loose but other than that, this is a great laptop to have if this is your first laptop and if you are heading off to college!

We have purchased several of this model for our teachers and these models have delivered. There is a really good Network Adaptor/card in them as these laptops receive our signal all throughout our bid brick building. The video display/touch screen is sharp and vibrant out of the box. The encasement of this device is sturdy but not bulky, looks really clean and overall spacious. The 8GB RAM with the Ryzen 5 flat out screams in speed for any laptop under $1000, and the 256 GB SSD holds its own in storage. This all makes for a really strong laptop from HP for the money.

Good laptop but cheaply made. Hundreds of reports on the HP app of the screen breaking at the left hinge. Discovered this when mine broke as well even though it stays on my desk. Only had it for a year before screen completely breaks apart at the left hinge.

So far the computer is working as it should. It is fast and responsive and has a bright high definition screen. It is light and feels sturdy. It has all of the features I am looking need for a good price. It is a 2 in 1 but this feature is not one I will use frequently. Overall, a positive rating.

Very happy with my purchase. I have been looking for a few months since my previous computer was starting to shut down and try to repair itself and it was sooooo slow. I have been looking at HP as I have never had one yet. It works fast and I like the touch screen. Perfect for what I use it for.

Love this laptop, runs all of my games beautifully. Have had it for a couple years now and it still works as good as the day I got it. Honestly worth every cent because it’s an investment into a laptop that will work great for many years.

This has been a great laptop. It's actually half decent for gaming too. It plays Dead by Daylight on medium just fine as an example. It's also great for general use, good battery life, excellent screen, nice keyboard and trackpad, thin and light. It's a great laptop

I use this touchscreen laptop for staff in a behavioral health setting. It works great and is supported well by HP. The only issue I have run into with frequent use is sometimes the hinge will go bad, but HP can fix this pretty quickly if you send the device in under warranty.

Pros: AMD Ryzen 5 5500u Processor (Definitely a big plus!) Great battery life in general for long work sessions Perfect size for portability and usage, excellent design 1080p resolution looks pretty nice for it's price point! Upgradable RAM/SSD (can be a minor hassle to upgrade RAM but definitely can be done and not hard at all to do) Cons: 720p Front Facing Camera (not a deal breaker for me though) Cheap RAM (to be expected honestly, swap it out..) Crackling sound every once in awhile (especially on startup) Bluetooth connectivity has issues every once in awhile Touch pad is extremely sensitive lf you're looking at doing some light gaming/editing on this laptop, I would HIGHLY recommend upgrading the RAM to at least 16gb. I took out the cheap RAM in this machine and added some Crucial DDR4 3200 mhz RAM (2x8gb) and this has definitely enhanced the experience of this laptop for me. I would honestly recommend this laptop for students who just need something to get them through school for the next 3-4 years. This laptop is definitely a solid 4 stars in my book! Nice job HP!

I purchased the HP Envy and I absolutely love it! I had an old HP that I hung onto for years, and when it finally died on me, I went to Best Buy to see what they had that would meet my needs. With the help of a phenomenal salesperson, I ended-up purchasing this laptop and couldn't be more pleased. It has the performance and features I was looking for and highly recommend it!

So far I love this laptop. Had an older Toshiba laptop from 2011 and it was slower than a snail. Since I work from home, that was no longer an option. My only annoyance is the oversized touchpad that I am still learning to avoid while typing. Turned it off and have used a wireless mouse but I still click the touchpad while typing. Other than that, this laptop has been a dream. Super fast and makes my job so much easier.

I’ve lived outdoors for 2 years in tropical rainforest with this laptop after 4 years of the use (6yrs total) replaced the batter once which was easy and only failed because it was turned on in the airport X-ray. Still works beautifully.

Very impressed with the construction of this laptop, I have been looking for a while for a replacement and decided on this one. the keyboard is very good to type on except be careful not to touch the screen while typing since it's a touch screen and can sometimes get in the way while typing. I upgraded to the geek squad and feel that it hasn't been all that great, most of the minor issues can't be resolved until you are told that it has to go to the next level, and then your waiting for hours for them to get back to you. Geek Squad gets a thumbs down for now. they screwed my printer and if they can't fix it, I will probably buy a different machine since I should not experience any issue after only 11 days of ownership. I blame the Geek Squad not Best Buy.
