Decent rig. Odd their board doesn’t have a video out with an APU. The RTX 3060 is a single fan but is quiet even with a custom fan curve. The stock CPU cooler is not sufficient whatsoever so I installed a Corsair H60 AIO. The Omen command center is limited. The Kingston ram is an HP specific set and has fast clocks but very poor timings. Power Supply is a Cooler Master 500 watt Bronze. Mine has a rattling fan. Not sure it’s gonna live long. Overall it’s decent for 1080p high refresh rate gaming. I’ll likely pull the 5600G out and build another pc with it utilizing the APU’s GPU and put the 3060 in another rig.

Writing this review literally 30 minute after receiving my computer. Was delivered with the graphics card not even properly installed onto the motherboard and the computer not usable at all. Called customer support and they said they will send a new one that comes next week so I have to wait even longer and they didn't even offer anything to make up for the inconvenience. I was planning on being able to use this computer to do work tonight in addition to installing some games but those plans are completely ruined. Pretty disappointed that a company like Best Buy doesn't even seem to have any proper quality checks before shipping out their orders. Date: 8/26/21

So getting set up was as simple as just turning it on and spending 5 minutes getting it started, after that it works like a charm and after a few days it still is working perfectly, and oh my god the upgrade to an SSD is so amazing

HP Omen 30L review - AMD Ryzen 5600G, NVIDIA RTX 3060, 1TB SSD, 16GB 3200MHz RAM Just received my Omen 30L, connected it to my 4K display, and I'm very satisfied. It is blazing fast! There is almost no perceptible delay when launching any application. At idle or when doing simple productivity tasks, browsing or streaming videos, the desktop makes very little noise. When I push the CPU/GPU in benchmarking or games, the fans spin up, but they are still quieter than my macbook pro 16" at full throttle. Some notes that might be useful: - Motherboard has 4 RAM slots with 2x8GB occupying 2 slots and 2 M.2 SSD slots, 1 occupied by a 1TB SSD. So, unlike some earlier Omen models, you can add memory and SSD storage. - Included SSD is a WD SN530, not a WD Black as indicated in the HP specs page - CPU is air-cooled with a simple cooler. My lowest observed CPU temp was 37C and highest I observed during a Cinebench 23 render test was 88C. Cpu idle is ~45C. In game it doesn't break a sweat. The GPU idles at ~30C and at 100% usage in a game, maxxed at 79C. - As indicated in multiple reviews online, there is a mounting bracket at the top of the case that completely restricts airflow out of the grate. Removing this bracket (or simply punching out its 4 squares) might improve the cooling. Furthermore, a cooling fan can be mounted here (thanks DanKamYouKnow), and I have mounted a Noctua NF-A12x15 PWM y-split with the rear exhaust fan motherboard pins configured as an intake here to create positive pressure (citing JayzTwoCents). It seems to lower CPU temp by 1 degree, so no perceptible change. I may have to tinker with it. - I'd heard that loading additional RAM DIMMs will clock memory down to the non-XMP clock speed of 2133Mhz or 2400Mhz, and that this can be overriden by Ryzen Master. While I haven't loaded additional memory, I did install Ryzen Master and it will not open due to "Unsupported processor!", so be aware of this limitation with the 5600G as of early May 2021. - The wifi antenna is integrated neatly and hidden behind the glass of the front panel (Hardware Canucks), which is a nice touch - no ugly antenna sticking out the back or sitting on the floor. The wifi card occupies a small M.2 slot, which leads me to believe it is also upgradeable if you should so choose. - The case opens with a simple press of a button, so getting inside to clean or swap a part is very simple. However, I also find myself pressing this button every time I move the case, so be careful not to open it inadvertently and shatter the glass panel. - The desktop tower only comes with a keyboard, mouse, power cable and 3 tiny disclaimer-style pamphlets. I recommend creating a Windows recovery disk using a USB key when you first receive the computer. In late 2020, I was hoping to build a custom desktop, but with the current state of affairs as of May 2021, silicon prices remain inflated pretty much across the board with no end in sight. If I was able to buy all these PC parts at MSRP along with a Windows license, it would total the same price as this desktop ($1250 at launch). Not to mention that as of writing, the Ryzen 5600G is OEM-only and the RTX 3060 is a unicorn. So, I consider this desktop to be a solid deal. For those who are hell-bent on overclocking or installing a particular CPU cooler or motherboard or using faster SSDs, I would advise going the custom path rather than modify this prebuilt. Finally, I love the system aesthetic. The RGB is fun, but it can be turned off. And the completely blacked-out internals from motherboard to cables to fans make for a sleek look. Overall, highly recommend!

I bought this pc almost 2 weeks ago and it's been a very pleasant experience using it. So just in general I'm into gaming and genuinely would rather build my own system than buying a pre build but this one surprisingly is priced very good and so is the performance of the parts. And considering the global shortage and me being lazy to build something of my own i thought let's try it and oh boy was it worth the buy SPECS: You get a Ryzen 5 5600G which is a beast of a CPU 16 Gb hyperfury X ram clocked at 3200 (which you can overclock with the omen hub app), RTX 3060 which will run anything you throw at it with ease. And a 1tb SSD (more space for more storage if you so please). Fps in games/streaming/Recording: CSGO i get 200ish fps on ultra, Insurgency sandstorm i get 150ish on ultra, Battlefield 1 and 5 each rich at about 100 to 120 fps on ultra (which this pc has very well the specs needed to run BF 2042 and whatever triple A title coming in the next 2 years at at least high settings) Destiny 2 around 100 to 150 fps on ultra depending on what's happening on the screen) In general the fps drops are not noticable at all and all the parts work very well together. No bottlenecking so far. Yes sometimes the fps will hit 90-100 and will jump back to 200- and then back to 120-150 but that's genuinely normal considering it's a 3060 and in general the fps drops and rises don't make the game spike. You cant notice the fps going up or down. But just as a rule for thumb expect about 90 to 150 fps on ultra no rtx, no dlss, at 1080p in every game you play. You can very comfortably stream and record gameplay and aswell the Ryzen 5 5600G is great in rendering. I can render a 20 minute 1080p video in about 10 minutes (more or less depends) Temperatures: While gaming the temps on the GPU and CPU hover around 72C. I added 1 more 120 mm fan to help with the cooling which i would recommend just to give the pc more breathing. In general while rendering videos the CPU gets to 85C. Now none of these temps are hardware threatening. These are temps very well in the range of normal when it comes to prebuilds. Good thing if you want to keep everything cooler there is plenty of videos showcasing you how you can add fans, add water cooling, and if you wanna take it up a notch you can take the entire hardware and just move it into another case with better airflow if you really wanna keep those temps at 65C. Most of the time while you're gaming the GPU fan will never hit more than 50% power on the fans. You can go in afterburner and bump it up 100 all the time. But like i said before I don't see any thermal throttling and the fps drops are not sever to grant me actually going in and tinkering more than I already did Genuinely so far I have nothing but a good experience with the PC.I upgraded from a Acer Nitro 5 gaming laptop with single channel 8Gb ram, GTX 1050m, 1tb HDD and i5 8300H processor. Even though the laptop was good and it has served me well i feel like i upgraded from a sports car to a spaceship. Cable management could be better but that one is just straight out aesthetics and doesn't matter at all when it comes to performance.

This HP Omen doesn't have much, but what it does have is quality. While sold as a gaming PC, it performed quite well in other task such as photo editing and office apps. As expected, the gaming performance was solid with the 3060 and 16gig of HyperX memory. It's interesting that HP chose the 5600G as the on chip graphics isn't needed. Expansion on this PC is severely limited by only offering one extra PCI slot. It offers slots for HDDs, but the placing of the slots suggest it won't get much airflow. This could be an issue for 7200 drives. The PC does seem to have an issue with sleep mode. It refuses to wake up most of the time. Not sure if this is a Windows 11 roll out bug, or if the blame falls on HP. Regardless, even hitting the power button doesn't seem to wake it leaving you with the only option of disconnecting the power. I'd recommend turning off sleep on the PC and just keeping it on for the monitor. This HP Omen can give you not only a great gaming experience, but a great PC experience. Just be mindful of the limited expansion and lets hope HP or MS fixes the sleep failures.

I'm giving this a 3. If 3.5 were possible I'd do that, but too many 4s are getting this build more credit than it deserves! Now, I am not dissatisfied here, but like some of the other critical reviews this is primarily about honest description (primarily HP here, and BB using stock images from the company) and the oh-so-close shortcomings of the case/build. First on the honesty front - it looks like everyone is getting a stock fan, no AIO cooler as shown in the product images. Unfortunately, an AIO is kind of a big deal in this case...because the cooling is terrible. Second - there are 3 single fan 3060 GPUs that I was able to locate out in news articles - this isn't a branded GPU, appears to be HP in-house, and again the images suggest a 2 fan standard 3060 is being sold here. Disapointed to get a single fan low clock 3060, but it is performing well (and cards a scarce...) I already have a 25L case with an AMD 5700 and Ryzen 7 3700x - that is a beefier processor, which needed a proper noctua CPU cooler, and 2 fans added (intake laid on the bottom, and outtake mounted on the top). I think this 5600g will probably be ok on the stock fan, but a tower heatsink/fan WILL bring the temps down (it was a full 20C drop on my 3700x) - make sure it is a 92mm fan, this case will not take any tower type cooler that is bigger than 125mm tall. Finally - if you do nothing else with this case, please, please - remove the top metal panel (the one with 4 small rectangles) and POP those rectangles out. They come out easily with a firm press - warm air rises, this will let some of the heat escape even if you do not add any fans or other cooling to the case.

This prebuilt is excellent, especially given the time it was purchased (May 2021). Like many prebuilts, this computer suffers from an unefficient cooling system and arguably poor cable management. Everything else is great. At the time, getting the 5600G processor was really nice seeing how the chip was just released the month before. The 3060 is an okay GPU but is now pretty outclassed by the 3060TI. Great SSD and RAM. Lighting is cool.

Great computer for the price! I mean you can not go out in the wild and get a 3060 for under $800. The CPU its great(not water cooled like on the picture), the 1 tb is a WD M.2 SSD, it has 2 sticks of RGB RAM. There is also RGB lights through the case. This PC is great for 3D modeling and gaming on the side. My only complain is when I render large files the fan on the GPU start screeching like a banshee, might not be noticeable if gaming

I prefer custom building my PCs, but given the volatile graphics card market, it would have been impossible to build a gaming PC to my satisfaction in the $1000-1500 range. This Omen PC pretty much meets and/or exceeds my expectations. I have no complaints about this PC's performance thus far. Pros: AMD processor, NVIDIA graphics, Western Digital SSD, (Kingston now HP) HyperX RAM I could care less about RGB lighting and clear case panels, but they are nice features. What's interesting is that HP paired an AMD processor with integrated graphics and a NVIDIA dedicated graphics card. You just don't see that in prebuilt PCs. I also find it interesting that the Hana motherboard does not support integrated graphics according to the MB specifications. Perhaps to deter the GPU scalpers? My only criticisms, which are not deal breakers by any means, are with the hardware. I'm not crazy about having a "generic" motherboard. I would prefer a larger power supply, but maybe that's just me and my tendencies from past builds. While self-installation is possible, it would have been great if this Omen PC came with 1 if not 2 fans installed in the top of the case for better ventilation. The keyboard and mouse seem to be afterthoughts. The keyboard isn't terrible. It works as intended, but I wouldn't say its suitable for gaming. The wired mouse feels very cheap and like its going to come apart in my hand.

Bought it for my son after having to return a brand new laptop from Dell with overheating issues after only 5 days of use! On a positive note, their support staff were excellent. Too bad “Dude! You’re getting a Dell!” is longer cause for celebration. I digress. The HP doesn’t even sweat when he is streaming and playing games! It runs cool and quiet, and my son and I both love the aesthetics! He was playing Back for Blood max graphics and 100 FPS+! Little jerk is rubbing it in that his games look better than on my series X, lol. He has his own series X when he feels like mingling with the peasants, hahaha! Highly recommend! It is ridiculously powerful and the RTX 3060 12gb in this desktop is a champ teamed up with the Ryzen 5! It has no issues with max graphics settings! Super satisfied with my purchase!

Received this bang for your buck prebuilt PC a day earlier than expected for pick up. First things first, I am going to be completely honest in my review as a 1st time new gen PC customer. (I used to solely use gaming laptops) - The preinstalled apps for omen definitely are a nice cherry on top for keeping track of your PC's performance. - Benchmarks for my PC had all the specs within the high 90's percentile for performance (outperforming over 90% of other PC's with similar specs) - Able to play Warzone at Ultra Settings at 120 fps easily. - For kids (able to play ROBLOX with FPS unlock at 240+ fps easily) - Able to play Warframe at 160-180 FPS at ultra setting easily. With a 244hz monitor I was able to get amazing gameplay and frame rates on pretty much every game. The fan's are very quiet (even when playing on Ultra on Warzone). The RGB lighting is very customizable, and was fun using different effects etc on the Omen Application provided. As long as you treat your PC with care, install security, remove junk files and don't be dumb with things you download, this PC is definitely a steal, especially with the market nowadays. PLUS the 3060 is legit and I've enjoyed the fast boot up times and playing experiences I've had so far. 100% RECOMMEND!

Great Desktop - warzone- you will hit about 150frames tops maybe more if you cut corners. fortnite- about the same. Desktops are obviously more powerful so they handle multiple programs at once, and usb accessories with plenty of ram to use. Great for gaming and price but I'd aim for the ti instead of this one or higher if you could. I like shopping from best buy but the site lacks options compared to the manufacture.

Love this PC. I mainly got this to just play games to experience the PC Gaming that people are talking about. I mainly use it for Warzone. I am happy to say that it runs great and no hiccups whatsoever. I also have Discord, OBS Streamlabs, Astro software just so I can see how much I can push the PC. Once again, happy to say that I don't experience any problems. My system is also quiet. I know some people mentioned about the fan being loud. Mine isn't. Overall, I am very happy. It's my first gaming PC and can't complain. Only thing that is unfortunate when I got this PC is that I barely want to play on the PS5 anymore. Lol.
