Great quality keyboard and case combo. Uses the Smart Connector so it automatically connects and doesn’t need to charge. You can also detach the keyboard when you have limited desktop/table space which the Apple keyboards can’t do. Seems like a much better value than those too.

Better than the apple 'magic keyboard'.
However, after several months the edges of the case have started tp 'warp'!. It's were the material is the weakest and most flexible (around the speakers and charging port), but it just looks cheap now.
For $199 I expected more resilience and also because its a Logitech product.

The material quality of this particular Logitech product is notably substandard, rendering it the most unsatisfactory item I have encountered within the Logitech product line. The soft plastic components exhibited severe deformation, ultimately rendering the product inoperable within a mere span of one year.

Is this a magic keyboard killer?
|
Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
Seriously, this might end up being a magic keyboard killer, specially looking at the price. This is literally $100 cheaper and can do almost everything that Apple's keyboard does. Honestly, I like it more. I had ordered my iPad pro 11" and this keyboard almost 2 weeks apart but the keyboard arrived earlier than the iPad. I also have an iPad Air (4th Gen) which uses the same accessories as iPad pro 11". So I thought of giving it a try (Pics attached). Everything worked perfectly, except the Touch ID of course. iPad Pro uses facial recognition, so you don't need to rest your finger on the power button to unlock unlike iPad Air. The power button is covered by the cover and as a result, I wasn't able to unlock my iPad via touch id. I had to use the passcode to do that which is not a problem. The real issue is that the iPad fits so tight inside the cover that the power button stays pressed all the time because of it which keeps Siri activated and is really annoying. I had to bring that portion of iPad out just keep power button disengaged. But THIS IS NOT Logitech's fault as the keyboard is specifically designed for iPad Pro 11", not iPad Air. So no complains here. I am yet to receive my iPad Pro which is supposed to arrive sometime next week. Now I know both iPads are exactly same size physically, so I really hope I don't have this issue with my iPad Pro. Although after reading other reviews, I don't see anyone else having this problem. So, it should be alright I guess. This case connects with the Smart Connector. That means no pairing, nearly instant connection, and it charges through the connection, so you never have to charge the case. As soon as you attach your iPad with the keyboard, it asks to download the app. Once you download it, you are good to go.
Pros:
- Solid build quality. Feels very sturdy in hand, and offers a good amount of protection for your iPad
- The keyboard is detachable (shown in attached pictures)
- The keyboard folds completely behind the screen (and turns off) allowing you to use the iPad as a tablet. I just love this feature. If you don't want to detach the keyboard, simply fold it behind the iPad and it will detect it and automatically turn itself off. How cools is that?
- $100 cheaper than Apple's Magic Keyboard, might even go more down during shopping season.
- Row of function keys present on this keyboard
- Edge to edge protection which the Magic Keyboard lacks
- Trackpad is surprisingly good, better than a lot of laptops. Using multi finger gestures feels great and natural
- Same drivers and gestures for the trackpad as the Magic Keyboard
- Uses the same Smart Connector that Apple uses, so no need to charge or sync the keyboard
Cons:
- Not as sleek as the Magic Keyboard aesthetically. The Folio more than doubles the weight of the iPad - and it is noticeable!
- No extra USB-C charging port like the Magic Keyboard
- The keyboard only clicks when the bottom half is depressed - like a Windows PC trackpad. The Apple Magic Keyboard Trackpad has the advantage here
Previous version of this keyboard used to have a flap that wrapped around the Apple pencil, providing extra protection. But for some reason, it has been removed from this version. I don't own an Apple pencil, so this is not a problem for me but it may be for people who do. Only other option that I would have loved in this keyboard is more color offerings. It only comes in Oxford Gray color. Both of my iPads are Space Gray which is darker than Oxford Gray. But since the entire iPad sits inside the keyboard case, you don't see the difference. But there could be color option in future. That's just my personal preference, nothing to take away from this awesome piece of gadget. If you're the type of person who will rarely remove the iPad from the case then this is great since you can fold the keyboard all the way back and still use the iPad as a tablet, and can fold it back and keep it as a media consumption device. This is a very solid offering and the typing experience is definitely on par with the magic keyboard. The addition of function keys and extra protection make this a no-brainer for a lot of people.

lightweight, backlit, removable iPad keyboard

TLDR: better than the Magic Keyboard. Lighter and more productivity iOS related keys. Great backlighting. Soft texture means not a fingerprint magnet.
With the Logitech Combo Touch for the iPad Pro 11", Logitech has finally nailed the perfect iPad keyboard. This is the first Logitech Combo that I have used that supports the Smart Connector, which I love. This means if your iPad has power, the keyboard has power.
There's so much to love, I don't know where to begin.
- backlit keys (yes)
- extra row of iOS keys (yes)
- keyboard detaches (yes)
- adjustable tilt stand (yes)
- soft textured not a fingerprint magnet (yes)
- can still connect the Apple Pencil (yes)
Seriously, this is superior to Apple's keyboards in every way. The dedicated buttons for search, lock, volume, playback, home, etc. Make the iPad a better and easier computer replacement because you can do everything on the keyboard.
Yes, this fits the original iPad Pro 11" and the new M1 iPad Pro (we have both at home).
The case adds less bulk than the Magic Keyboard, although the Logitech does have extra-wide bumpers. I kind of like that, because it protects the edge of the iPad. The only caveat is it's a snug fit, so this is not a quickly put on/pull-off case - which is why the removable keyboard is a blessing.
I'm sharing some photos so you can see how the Logitech Combo Touch compares to the Magic Keyboard. You should be able to see the extra row of top keys, and the better-sized trackpad on the Logitech Combo. Seriously, Logitech did a great job.
Very happy.
Logitech - if you read this, you could get 6 stars if you made a thinner, light detachable softcover (no keyboard) for when you might not want the keyboard but still want to protect the screen.

Logitech Combo Touch keyboard case for iPad Pro 11", Is what I need to turn my iPad Pro 11 into a laptop.
Pros: Not too bulky, backlit keys, accurate trackpad, provides excellent protection for iPad, detachable keyboard, nice textured looking and fits older generations of iPad Pro 11".
This combo case is well designed and sturdy and provides protection as well as versatility of use. The keyboard case is made of rubber material and wraps the Ipad all around, which is excellent for a pricy device. The keyboard works immediately and magnetically through the smart connector on the side of the iPad without a need for Bluetooth or any additional pairing steps. Moreover, the kickstand is adjustable to have good viewing; Appel pencil snugs in a dedicated place with a loop. The most features that I liked are the ability to detach the keyboard and use touch taps instead of clicks on the trackpad by toggling that on from iPad settings and the extra shortcuts keys for IOS and tilting degree.

Excellent iPad Pro Case

I love the look, feel and smart features of this case. It makes the iPad Pro even more versatile and provides a reasonable amount of protection.
Pros
- Well-built case with premium feel. I love the feel and texture of the woven fabric covering. The soft touch materials are a nice balance of protection and good grip, without adding too much bulk. The case fits tight, but I had no issue using it with a thin paper-like screen protector.
- Setup was easy. The iPad immediately recognized it and recommended downloading the app.
- Power comes from the iPad so no need to worry about charging.
- The kick stand works great and allows you to adjust the viewing angle.
- Detachable keyboard can be flipped and stored on the back with keys facing in when using as a tablet.
- Keyboard and touchpad are responsive and have good feel. Using the touchpad gesture feels very natural and intuitive.
- Keyboard is backlit and has useful shortcut keys (volume, media controls, lock, backlit and screen brightness adjustment).
Things to Consider
- Overall fit is very good on my 1st generation iPad Pro with a few minor comments. The speaker cut outs do not align perfectly and cover some of the holes on each speaker (this does not seem to impact volume or performance). The charging port cut out is tight (it works with the standard Apple cable with no issue, but it could be an issue for some thicker aftermarket cables).
- There is a slot on the case that allows for storing/charging the Apple Pencil, but even with the case closed it is still partially exposed and there is no strap to secure it. The Pencil seems secure and has not come off when carrying it in my bag, but I am still concerned about potential damage if I were to drop it.
I have had several logitech cases on my previous iPads and they all worked well. This case is no exception. It is amazing how well it works, and I would get it again.

Terrible case for the price, after a short time the rubber around the speaker cutouts has started to stretch and bend away from the iPad. For the price of this case I expected a much better product. Now I have a case that doesn't work as well as it should and also looks terrible. Logitech customer service is also very poor, so if you attempt to contact them and have them honor their 1 year warranty expect to waste a lot of your time.

Hello MrJoby, I am sorry that the Logitech Combo Touch did not meet your expectations. Also, my apologies if you feel that the manufacturer warranty claim process is not as simple as you expected, but Logitech must verify every claim with care to ensure the highest customer satisfaction. I suggest using the retailer's exchange policy if you need a quick replacement without dealing with the somewhat bureaucratic process that Logitech must maintain for its warranty claims. Great for Productivity and Protection

Let me begin by saying Logitech is my go-to brand for keyboards and mice. The MX line is amazing, and it is what I use at home and work. Needless to say, when looking for a keyboard for my iPad Pro, I was anxious to give the Logitech Combo Touch Case a try.
CASE DESIGN
While a bit bulky, the case is well-built. The fabric looks and feels great, and it matches perfectly with my Space Gray iPad. The keyboard portion attaches magnetically and easily detaches when you do not need it. The built-in kickstand opens, allowing you to adjust the angle of the screen for almost any viewing scenario. Cut-outs for the charging port and speakers are perfect. The camera hole is designed for the newer iPad Pros with the square lens case, but it still works with my 1st Gen 11-inch iPad Pro - there is just a larger gap in the space. There is a cutout for the magnetic attachment for the Apple Pencil. I'm not a fan of that feature, but it's there for those who use the pencil often. When you first unbox this device, it does have a very overpowering smell. I'm not sure if it is the plastics or some treatment to the fabric, but if you leave it out for a few days, the smell will soon go away.
KEYBOARD AND TRACKPAD
the typing experience is a little cramped, but it is somewhat expected given that the keyboard has to be within the space of the iPad. Aside from feeling a bit cramped, the experience is otherwise great. The chiclet-style keys have ample travel and are relatively quiet. The backlight keys provide plenty of lighting variations for any environment. When it comes to the trackpad, it is silky smooth and pretty large - almost comparable to that of a MacBook Air or something. It does take some getting used to using on an iPad, learning some of the gestures and such, but otherwise, it works flawlessly.
OVERALL
If you are looking for a comprehensive case, keyboard, and trackpad for your iPad Pro, this is a great - if not the best - option available. Sure, there's always the Apple version, but that will certainly cost you. The Logitech Combo Touch Keyboard Case achieves the perfect combination of design, function, and cost. I highly recommend it.

I can't contain my excitement about the Logitech Combo Touch iPad Pro Keyboard Folio! This is more than just a keyboard folio; it's a game-changer that has transformed the way I use my iPad Pro 11". Let me break down why this product deserves all the praise:
First off, the design is sleek and stylish, with the Oxford Gray color adding a touch of sophistication. The combination of the keyboard and folio is seamless, giving my iPad Pro a professional look and making it incredibly versatile.
The detachable backlit keyboard is an absolute dream to type on. The keys are well-spaced, providing a tactile and comfortable typing experience that rivals even some laptop keyboards. And the backlit feature? Genius! Whether I'm working in a dimly lit room or during late-night sessions, the adjustable backlighting ensures I can type effortlessly and accurately.
But wait, there's more! The integration with the iPad Pro is flawless. The Smart Connector connects instantly, eliminating the need for pairing and charging. This means no more worrying about battery life for the keyboard. Plus, the keyboard itself is a mini powerhouse with shortcut keys that make multitasking a breeze.
The touchpad is where the magic truly happens. It's responsive and intuitive, effectively transforming my iPad Pro into a laptop replacement. Navigating through apps, editing documents, and browsing the web feels incredibly natural, almost like second nature. The touchpad is precise and supports all the gestures I'm accustomed to on macOS.
The protection this folio offers is top-notch. My iPad Pro feels secure and safeguarded from everyday bumps and scratches, while the adjustable kickstand provides multiple viewing angles for optimal comfort.
In a nutshell, the Logitech Combo Touch iPad Pro Keyboard Folio has revolutionized my iPad Pro experience. It's more than a keyboard; it's a productivity powerhouse that has made me more efficient and effective in my work. This is the missing piece that truly completes the iPad Pro, transforming it into a versatile device that adapts to my every need.
Trust me, if you're an iPad Pro user, this is a game-changing investment you won't regret. Logitech has outdone themselves with this masterpiece, and I can confidently say it's the best accessory I've ever owned. Thank you, Logitech, for enhancing my productivity and creativity in ways I couldn't have imagined. This keyboard folio is worth every penny, and it's no exaggeration to say that it has elevated my iPad Pro to a whole new level!

Most aesthetic and comfortable keyboard!!! So I was researching a keyboard to buy for my iPad since I’m going back to school. After comparing the specks and the prices I settled on the Logitech keyboard in sand. I honestly love it!! It has a clean look to it with protection that isn’t bulky. The overall keyboard feels nice and comfortable to type on. The stand on the back can be easily adjusted to any angle allowing me to type from any surface while also detaching the keyboard to watch movies. Best keyboard and case for the price, look, feel and aesthetic!!

For $150 nothing else comes close… To get the same functionality from Apple you will spend $300 and even then you get ZERO protection for your pricey tablet. This “Combo” offers Backlit keys, full trackpad that support mulit-touch gestures (if you have a Mac laptop you will know all of them), a full row of “function” keys and light protection to keep your tablet free of knicks and scratches in daily office type use. It does offer protection, BUT DONT BE FOOLED… It’s not Otterbox Defender or UAG Urban Armor. It has maybe 2mm of rubber around the edges and a 1-1.5 mm lip around the screen. So it will fend off general use but NOT anything ruff or industrial in nature. What’s nice about it, is that the keyboard is powered by the smart connection so no batteries, no Bluetooth pairing and NO LAG. The keyboard back lights are dimmable and auto dim if you stop typing after a few seconds. You don’t need any software on your tablet for this to work. Logitech does off a pan app for updating the firmware which I have yet to try as it works perfectly out of the box. Do not that the iPad is very densely packed so it’s not light. While thin this case does add some weight. For daily use around the house I just leave the keyboard off. A note for all the left handed people out there… Everyone knows what side the pencil charges on when in portrait mode.. This case hinges on the same side as the Smart Connector so will take a little to get used to that part. Only real complaint I have is the rubber lip that goes around the tablet is a stiffer rubber that covers the home and volume buttons and as they are raised less than a mm, they are rather difficult to distinguish and operate. No strap or loop to hold the pencil, so be careful when putting your tablet in or pulling it out of a backpack. Subtle nit picks aside for $150 I couldn’t be happier.. much…Much…MUCH BETTER VALUE than the Apple Magic Keyboard

Best Keyboard for your iPad hands down.

This is the absolute best keyboard for your iPad and it is more affordable than Apple’s offering. The first thing you will notice is that it does not have the “rubber” coating that you will find on the Apple keyboards. Anyone that has had an Apple Smart or Magic Keyboard for the iPad will notice the rubber will start bubbling and pealing over time due to your hand oils and sweat.
The Logitech keyboard has a woven outer fabric feels holds up well. The keyboard is on par with the Magic Keyboard, but has features not found Apple product. You get a row of function keys for brightness, audio, keyboard backlighting, home, search, etc. Along with this, the touchpad is larger and it works just as good as the Apple product. All of the gestures work flawlessly.
Unlike the Apple keyboards, the Logitech protects your iPad. You have an shell that keeps your iPad safe from drops or bumps. Oh! And it can be detached from the keyboard which is handy when writing or use the iPad for “Sidecar” (external screen). It has a kickstand like the Microsoft Surface where you can adjust the angles. This is super useful. When you reattach the keyboard, it is comfortable for typing on your lap.
All in all, I would highly recommend this keyboard over the Apple Smart or Magic Keyboards. It is cheaper, protects you iPad and has more functionality.

Excellent keyboard folio. Typing is nearly as good as the Magic Keyboard (plus function keys), with nearly infinite display angles thanks to the kickstand. Speaking of which, it is great for drawing and using the iPad as a reader and watching videos. The trackpad is larger than the Magic Keyboard and equal to a Microsoft precision trackpad. The overall protection of iPad itself is much better than any of the competition. The only real downside is the weight and bulk, but you have to pick your poison - it's no worse than the Magic Keyboard and the lighter/thinner Smart Keyboard Folio is vastly inferior for typing and general use of the iPad.
