    Clogged Constantly

The main complaint we have with this vacuum after about a year of use is that it stays clogged constantly. We have a lab that sheds short hair a ton, hence why we bought the “pet plus”. The bendable hose on the main vacuum attachment must have a major design flaw. I wholly disagree with it being a vacuum design for pet households.

I bought this vacuum for my Mother on Christmas. I was skeptical buying a cordless vacuum but I figured it was lightweight so I gave it a try. What a joke, this thing won’t pick up cat food off hard floors. It pushes debris into piles instead of sucking them up. And that’s with a fresh charged battery. On carpet it just balls up the lint and leaves little lint balls all over. I really don’t know what it’s good for. Maybe cobwebs?

Literally awful for pet hair. It pushes around the pet hair instead of sucking it up. The fancy light just shows me how well it’s doing at NOT picking up hairs. If you’re looking to pick up rice or crushed cereal this is great but for pet hair from a large dog like husky or chocolate labs like mine keep looking. It’s called a pet plus but it’s honestly not good for large dogs or breeds that shed fur. You can see from my photos it’s just pushing this dog hair around the house without ever suctioning it up.

Light but powerful - best for second vacuum

I chose this as a second vacuum to use upstairs to avoid having to lug the heavy full-sized vacuum up thee stairs. It will see infrequent use but still needs to be powerful. I was especially interested in seeing if the battery life was sufficient and whether the "paddles" actually kept hair from getting caught in the roller. The vacuum is extremely lightweight, easy to maneuver. The lower portion is very compact due to the small size of the roller, which allows it to be pushed well under furniture (see photo) - I can't do this with any other vacuum. To check the performance, I ran the vacuum over an area that had been recently cleaned using a full-sized machine and I was surprised to see how much dust it had picked up. The battery performance was fine. It did not run out in the time that I cleaned the entire second story. I checked the roller and nothing got rolled up into the roller brush. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised with the performance of such a small, lightweight machine.

We love this light weight vacuum! The many attachments make cleaning the floor, couch, ceiling, etc. a breeze! The battery lasts a long time and we witnessed the powerful suction on the 1st use. We have a labradoodle that sheds a bit and tracks in dirt. This vacuum does an amazing job keeping on floors clean. 10/10 would def. recommend! It also has instruction labels brightly displayed along the vacuum for those (my husband) that don't want to read the manual. This made it easy to use straight out of the box!

This Shark Cordless Pet Plus Stick Vacuum is lightweight, powerful, and easy to use. It picks up pet hair effortlessly, and the self-cleaning brushroll prevents tangles. The anti-allergen seal is a great bonus for allergy sufferers. Battery life could be longer, but overall, it’s a fantastic vacuum for pet owners!

I have tried a couple cordless stick vacuums before with varying levels of disappointment. Most suffered from inadequate suction / air velocity making them ineffective at picking up much. So at first, when I received this Shark I was skeptical as to what it's abilities would be. But went ahead and put it through it's paces, keeping an open mind. First, the box it was packed in was excellent, everything fitting in snugly. After pulling all the parts and accessories out of the box, putting the individual pieces together is a simple and straight forward task. All parts "snap" together, and are held with locking tab. To take apart, just hold down the lock tab and pull apart. Next charging the battery. After a couple uses and charges, I found you can expect it to take around 2 1/2 hours for full charge. Then popped in the battery and tested suction right at the power head. The power head has 2 settings for the vacuum motor, and I was quite surprised at how much suction and air velocity the unit developed. Okay, so far, so good. Snapped on the power brush and went over the entire carpet. This thing picked up pet hair, dirt, and even some cat litter I sprinkled on the carpet as a test. It really did a good job - left nothing behind. I also liked the swivel power floor brush - it allows for easy maneuvering around corners, table legs etc. As to run time, I got about 15 minutes with floor brush running. Although I didn't use it, there is a turbo mode for vacuum that will certainly shorten run times. The included tools seem well thought out and designed. I tried the small brush with great results. Also included is a crevice tool, and a flat brush for such things as blinds, on top of shelves, etc. One thing - when the power head is snapped to the wand and carpet brush, it will not stand up. You need to unsnap power head and hang on front of the wand as shown in pic. In summary, this vacuum seemed to do nearly as good as the full sized (also Shark) vacuum we use. I am impressed!

I recently purchased the Shark - Cordless Pet Plus. The vacuum cleaner that I replaced this with was 24 years old. I kept waiting for a good deal and something that I would like. I finally made the move and am so glad I did. I don't think I realized how bad my old vacuum was until I used my new Shark and was shocked to see how much it picked up. Also, my old one was very heavy. I love the light weight of my Shark, the fact that it is cordless, and I don't need a bag. It is very easy to empty the container. I looked at several other vacuums that were cordless and saw the limited time that the battery worked. The Shark is probably around 35-40 minutes of use after charging, which is great. Not having the electrical cord knocking things over and getting unplugged is so nice. It is also very portable and so easy to use and put together. Its size makes it easy to store. Would definitely recommend. I bought it on a sale which was another added benefit.

    Great vacuum for hair

I currently own the Shark IONFlex 2X Douclean cordless pet vacuum and have been very happy with it. The only complaint I have is the roller accumulates hair that has to be manually removed. I was hoping this vacuum would fix that problem. One problem battery operated vacuums have is the limited time of use before requiring recharging. I like that Shark made this battery removable; however, I wish they would have included a backup battery, since I find myself forgetting to charge the battery after cleaning. This vacuum did a great job cleaning both hardwood floors and carpet. The boost trigger is a great addition, but seems to be designed for larger hands. The most awesome feature Shark included on this vacuum was the bristle head, which prevents hair from wrapping around it. Pros Great cleaning of hardwood and carpet Removable battery Bristle head prevents hair accumulation Cons Only one battery included Debris catches on dustbin door (see photo) Power boost trigger not designed for small hands I would recommend this vacuum to anyone who would like a powerful battery operated unit that allows for swapping batteries. I would especially recommend this for anyone who has a family or dog with long hair. Just remember to pick up an extra battery or look for a package with two.

Very disappointed. I picked this vacuum due to the power fins pictured, but when I received the item, it has a regular brush head with teeny-tiny power fins and a regular brush roll. It even has the picture with the power fins on the box. I will try to rebox it and return.

One of the best stick vacs we've used

O.K., so, we have a variety of animals and we love them all! We have a cat, a dog (hound/beagle mix) that sheds like crazy, a few rats, a Black Mexican Kingsnake and coming this week, a Bearded Dragon! So, needless to say, we needed a good stick vacuum that's designed for pets, specifically. It sure beats pulling out the full-sized vacuum when you just need to quickly vacuum something simple, like some substrate spilling onto the floor during cleaning, stray treats and such, lol. Enter this Shark vacuum. Now, I am a huge fan of Shark/Ninja products, but I will still review honestly, as I have had some Shark/Ninja stuff that have just been "duds" in the past. However, I love their Hot/Cold Coffee Brewing System, as well as their cooking products, such as the Foodi line (grill, pressure cookers, etc). I will say that this vacuum, pun intended, sucks in all the best ways. Unboxing is pretty standard fare for a vacuum and you do feel that you get your money's worth. Inside is the vacuum itself, several attachments for it and the instruction manual. Now, Shark/Ninja branded items are notorious for putting shipment protection stickers all over the product. Which I don't mind, as they do tend to remove easily with no residue. This is the first Shark/Ninja product I've gotten that I've had problems in this department. All of the stickers and tape, etc, came off great and left nothing behind. But there was this one notorious one on the stick part of the vacuum, closer to the bottom where it attaches to the base. It was a yellow sticker and it just peeled off in pieces and left a ton of gunk. I had to take the Goo-Gone to it. Luckily, it removed everything and didn't eat away at the paint, so that's a plus. I also wanted to comment on the color. It's really nice - it's shiny and metallic looking and seems pretty durable. It was already about half charged when we unboxed it, so I was able to do a quick test vacuum, immediately. I put it on charge and it was done pretty quickly. I really wasn't paying attention, as I've had a lot going on this past week, but if I had to guess, it was fully charged within 45 minutes or so. It does have a 40 minute run-time, according to the packaging. With all of my use of it this week, that seems to be about on par. I've used it on both carpet and regular flooring and both settings work fantastic. I was impressed with the floor/no carpet mode as with most vacuums, on a bare floor, it just scatters the dust around. Not this guy. It pulls it right in. I even vacuumed my Gaming/Media room over the weekend and it pulled everything out of the normally problematic areas I have in there. And what it didn't, the stick attachments too care of super easily. I love the Rubber parts of the underbrush, as this works great in pulling up hard to get pet hair. Our dog sheds a TON and her fur is so thick and course, it tends to "weave" itself into other fabrics. This vacuum has tackled her fur with ease. I also love the trigger that ups the power temporarily, when needed. If you have a problem piece of debris that's stuck and just won't pull up, hold the trigger in and odds are pretty good that it'll grab it then. Outside of the above, I can't really think of any other cons besides the stickers. If I had to nit-pick, the only thing I can come up with is that I do wish the dirt bin was larger. I'm being honest...this thing pulls up way more dirt and stuff from the carpet than even our full-sized vacuum does....as well as more than our robot vacuum, even. But just the convenience of being able to quickly spot clean without dealing with cables is fantastic. Cleaning out the snake enclosure is super easy now, as once I get all the Aspen bedding out, the vacuum takes care of what little is left, even the dust from it. Stray rat pellets and treats or other food that's found it way to the carpet all come up great. Overall, I'm giving this vacuum a 5/5 star rating. I just hope that it holds up well, over time.

Shark - Cordless Pet Plus with Anti-Allergen Complete Seal - Blue Summary: Awesome! Pros: * Handheld. The unit is easily held in hand and is comfortable to use and maneuver. * Familiar. This unit is similar to the IX141, which I also own and love. * HEPA filtration. Captures fine particles down to .3 microns. * Quick release waste bin. Press a button, shake, close the lid. You're done emptying. * Designed for pets! This unit excels at lifting pet hair/fur from the carpet. * Detachable battery. This is a new perk. The battery can be removed so you can plop in spares for long sessions. * Attachments. The provided attachments cover most use cases. Tight spots. Sofas. Blinds and ledges. Cons: * I don't have any cons. However, I will offer some wishes. Wishes: * I wish they included a wall mount system, or * A battery charging dock as part of wall mount, or separate (similar to Tineco vacuums) Use: I have a townhome with four stories. I also have a miniature schnauzer and a corgi. The corgi sheds. A lot. Even with monthly grooming sessions, his hair can be a problem to manage when things get super busy. We have a Shark stick vacuum I assume this is an iteration upon model IX141. It is amazing. Just like that one, this unit maneuvers easily is easy to remove and replace attachments and is easy to empty. It does an amazing job picking up fur from my corgi that the other vacuums I own just don't compete as well. One test we do is to use a vacuum on our dark grey colored carpet. Then after we're done removing what we can see, we use our hands to brush the steps from the outside in. Kind of like if you were trying to gather sand to the middle. We do that for a few seconds. For all of the other vacuums, there is invariably a ball of hair that they missed. We just suck that ball up or gather it by hand and throw it away. This vacuum, on the other hand, didn't leave anything for us to collect. It vacuumed everything we saw and everything we didn't. Fantastic! I really love how easy it is to use this unit on my stairs. Note: If you have a pet that sheds a lot and has carpet (and hardwood), I highly recommend this gadget. Pick up two or get several batteries. We keep a vacuum on each floor since each floor has different ratios of flooring types and traffic patterns. I have attached a picture of the canister after only 4 (!!!) steps and about 3 minutes. The hand test (see above) revealed virtually nothing left behind. We vacuum the main floor daily with a robot. The steps we try and get to every week, sometimes two. This test occurred on steps that were vacuumed only a few days prior. The pictures posted on BestBuy and Shark's website more than do this product justice.

Excellent power and utility in this vacuum. The brush roll is a combination of squeegee like fins and bristles and do an excellent job of preventing hair wrap around the roller. As an owner of a Siberian Husky, this vacuum does a great job of getting all of the hair off of our area rugs and laminate flooring. The turbo trigger is very easy to activate, but the standard suction mode is more than enough for standard vacuum jobs. In handheld mode with the upholstery brush, this vacuum does as well as my shop vac for cleaning up my car seats which saves a ton of time not having to use a shop vac. This unit is overall very quiet as well. The HEPA filtration is excellent for keeping pet dander out of the air, and you don't get the annoying puff of dust when you turn it on compared to a standard old vacuum. The dusting attachment is really useful and makes dusting a lot easier and cleaner. The upholstery brush and small tipped attachment are pretty standard and get the job done. My only criticism is the package should come with a wall mount to hang up the unit when finished for quicker storage. However, if you take off the top portion and hang it off of the stick, the unit stands upright on its own and takes up very little space, while keeping the charging port on the battery easily accessible if you want to keep the battery attached. The blue color of the vacuum is really attractive looking as well. Shark must have dozens of variations on this model as it is part of their "Rocket" series. based on the features of the unit, it is most comparable to their Rocket Pet Pro, and is just probably the naming they are going to use going forward for their pet specific vacuums.

I really like this vaccum. It is very easy to change all the different parts and to clean and gets up dog and cat hair very easily. The thin tube attachment gets into corners and other hard to reach places very easily. The vaccum is also very lightweight and has a pretty good battery life, it only needs to be charged in the middle of cleaning when I am vacuuming when I clean my entire house.

The vacuum exceeded expectations with powerful suction (I have two cats) and versatile attachments. Its sleek design and lightweight build make it easy to maneuver. The cord length is generous, minimizing unplugging hassles. The dustbin is easy to empty, reducing mess. Despite the compact size, it handles both carpets and hard floors adeptly. The noise level is reasonable, and the adjustable settings cater to various surfaces.
