If you don’t take your iPad on the go and it sits at home, this case might work for you. I use mine every day and store it in a sling bag that I carry around at work. A key broke off 1 month in, I found a replacement online no big deal but I now have 4 broken keys after 3 months of use. The pieces of rubber around the speakers are all stretched out and are starting the tear up the sides.
This was my favorite case for the first month I owned it. But now I’m going back to my Zugu case with a separate, more durable bluetooth keyboard.

It’s fine, but a couple of months after purchasing the protective cover started bulging out from the left-hand side of the iPad. For this kind of money I expect better quality. I wouldn’t buy this again.
That's disappointing and we apologize for the inconvenience. We'd recommend you to get in touch with Logi Support team and check for available options, next steps, and best possible solution in this case.

Premium case and keyboard with large touchpad!

Verdict. This case is transformational. It turns an iPad into a fully productive touchscreen laptop, but with iPad convenience. It also looks great and feels great.
Case. In addition to protection from daily scratches and blemishes, it appears that this case would protect an iPad from a fall or other potential damages. The magnetically-held keyboard flap is easily and quickly removable, which is a really nice feature. Even without the keyboard flap, the case has an edge that extends above the screen to provide protection for the screen in case of a fall. The fabric material feels really nice, and provides a premium look. While I like the case, it is much heavier than my lightweight smart case. If weight is a factor for you, then consider the additional 1 lbs 12 ounces that this case adds to the iPad. The case has a strong magnet that keeps it closed tightly. The case could benefit from a tab to assist in opening because with the Apple Pencil in the charging slot, it is a bit tricky to open the case. The case also has a kickstand that works very well and stores away nicely
Setup. Placing the iPad in the keyboard was a bit tricky, but with patience and care, it can be done in just a few minutes and without much stress to the iPad. Once the case is installed, the iPad recommended the download of the Logitech app. I am not sure if this is necessary, but I went ahead and installed the app. This was quick, and then the keyboard functioned perfectly without any additional steps.
Keyboard. The keyboard for the 12.9 inch iPad pro has ample width and allow for comfortable and fast typing. The keys feel nice, type quietly, and have back-lighting. My favorite feature of this iPad keyboard are all the shortcut keys. The built-in keys provide fantastic convenience for volume, media controls, search, home screen, and screen lock. In addition, the keyboard can control many actions with Tab + other keys (see settings, accessibility / keyboard / full keyboard access / commands).
Touchpad. The touchpad adds a really nice functionality to the iPad. The size of the touchpad allows for quick gestures, mimicking some touch action on the screen, like swiping through apps, returning to the home screen, and pinching. It is well located and doesn’t interfere with typing. Lastly, it allows for exact control of the pointer for tasks that require precision.
Things I love.
- Premium feel and look
- Great protection
- Easy installation and setup
- Slot to charge the apple pencil
- No need to charge the keyboard separately; the iPad pro does it for you through “Smart Connector”
- Easy to remove the keyboard
- Wide keyboard with lighted keys and convenient shortcut keys
- Large touchpad
Things I don’t love.
- The magnets that keep the case close are strong. A tab to assist in opening the case would be great
- It is a bit heavy, but worthwhile given the added functionality
- I would prefer an actual slot for the Apple Pencil. My iPad is my “go-to” every device at home, on my commute, and at work. As designed, I have to be careful to make sure I don't knock the Pencil loose, and then potentially breaking it or losing it. I really need the Pencil to be secure as the iPad comes in-and-out of my backpack on the bus, train, and other places.
Overall, this is a fantastic case. I absolutely love the added functionality of a great keyboard, touchpad, and removable keyboard flap. While a bit pricey, it is well worth the cost. I highly recommend this Logitech case.

This $250 (!) case gets loose where the speakers are (where the case’s material “splits” to open up for the speakers). Super flimsy, causes the entire perimeter to start fraying and coming off. Logitech refuses to repair or replace. AVOID

Where to begin? Should I start by saying this review is brought to you by the new Logitech Combo Touch, on my new 12.9 inch iPad Pro? It sure is! I’m happy to report, in just the first paragraph, that you should buy this. Especially if you’re looking for a premium alternative to the official Apple accessory.
In the box, you’ll find the keyboard detached, the iPad case with the smart connector for your iPad, and a basic user pamphlet/warranty guide. The packaging mirrors the premium experience, as it has a nice magnetic flap to keep it closed and to help protect the case while in the packaging. The included pamphlet illustrates how easily it is to install the case and attach the keyboard. It’s worth checking out if you’ve never used a keyboard like this for your iPad and aren’t sure how to use it.
To install, simply place your iPad within the case enclosure, lining up the camera to ensure proper fit. It kind of snaps into place, without a snap, with the soft silicon edges easily sliding over the iPad to hold it in place. The buttons are all covered and protected, with easy to find to find button placement. There are openings around the 4 speakers, the top microphones and the USB C/Thunderbolt connector. The device doesn’t require any charging, as it uses the Smart Connector to power the keyboard with your iPad, once it’s attached to the side/bottom of the case. You’ll notice the keyboard/trackpad portion will lie flat on any surface it’s placed on. The entire exposed portions of the case are covered in a nice textured fabric like feel. This makes placing your palms on the keyboard feel natural and comfortable; unlike placing them down on a desk or table during typing.
Installing the keyboard portion of the case is as simple as lining up the connector, and feeling the magnet do the work of attaching it in place. Once it’s attached it does a pretty good job of staying in place. It will require little effort of pulling to remove it from the case, if you’d like it removed, and also acts to complete the enclosure by covering the screen when not in use. It takes advantage again of the previous generation feature of putting the iPad to sleep when the case is closed, with the satisfying click noise of the wake button being engaged. It does a great job staying shut, until you absolutely need to pull it open, finding yourself back to the unlock screen and the app you were using when the case is opened.
On the keyboard itself, you’ll find the familiar shortcut keys for backlight, media, spotlight search, screen brightness, and the media keys. You’ll also find the alternate keyboard shortcut key in the lower left, and when pressed, will display the alternative keyboards, or in my case the emoji selection menu. You’ll also find a key for the home button and a lock button that will lock your iPad at key press without hesitation. I was impressed with the backlighting, which at it’s brightest setting wasn’t overly bright in the dark. The key presses mirror the use of a premium apple keyboard, without the expensive price tag. The touchpad works well with multi touch gestures, feeling almost as familiar to using them on the your iPads screen. I was easily able to switch apps, see the app manager, and even option tap on apps for spell corrections or menu actions. The size of the trackpad feels about right, and I never once felt like I was needing a larger surface area.
So, how does this stand up? There is an easily adjustable stand that pops out of the case, on the backside of the iPad, which helps keep the device upright. It holds in place very well, and even allows for a lower placement if you’d like to sketch on your desk or another flat surface. This provides you with several options for overall placement to your preference. The top most portion (or right side of the iPad), has a small gap that allows for the official Apple Pencil to easily connect and store with your iPad. If you’re using a third party stylus that lacks the magnetic feature of attaching, you’ll find there isn’t a way to keep your stylus attached to the case. While I understand leaving this out, it does feel like a miss for those using mostly third party accessories.
Overall, will this case live up to your expectations. Yes, it likely will. It offers a premium look, feel, offers the portability of an accessory that attaches to your iPad, and works incredibly well. I should note, that having access to both the 4th and 5th generation iPad Pro in 12.9”, I was able to accommodate both iPads into this case. So, if you’re simply looking to upgrade your keyboard for your previous generation iPad Pro (12.9), this will likely work without issue for you as well. I highly recommend this keyboard for those wanting the portability of the Apple Magic Keyboard, with a friendlier price tag, and a nicer look (in my opinion).

The Logitech Combo Touch fo iPad Pro 12.9” (5th Generation) is a outstanding keyboard and case for the iPad Pro. There are two key things that make it such description.
First, the keyboard and its trackpad works noticeably smooth, Aside of Logitech claim on trackpad, it is fully functional but the actions like pinch, swipe, tap, select word or paragraph, scrolling etc feels absolutely smooth. Even the feeling from the hardware itself make difference.
Secondly, typing is entire new level of experience for iPad or tablet category. Typing doesn’t feel alike a mechanical response that make one to feel what is under the keyboard, rather feels smooth responsive return after each keystroke.
Then it has all the functions that is available on MacBook, and additionally backlit control to increase or decrease its light under the key.
Then the combo is detachable such that the screen part can be used separately from the keyboard to read or situation that does’er really require full extend of keyboard need.
It also has the space for the Apple Pencil to attach to the iPad. The case part is quite sturdy and protective. Its rear side has the kickstand for Type mode. Only difficulty I found during use is finding its edge to expand.
In this last aspect wish there were a way to recognize through touch edge the separating kickstand. As is, from few usage had to spend bit more than necessary for such type of action.
A downside that wish it were better:
1. Heavy, unfortunately, the iPad with the Combo Touch make quite heavy, almost like grabbing a macbook 13”. Although this is not a unique problem to Logitech, would be nice if can make the combo lighter when the installed.
Aside of it, the combo touch is elegant on feels and look. It is functional as is easy to detach/attach back keyboard, keyboard itself works nicely for typing and navigation experience.
It's disappointing to hear and it's surely not what we expect to deliver. In order to help you effectively, please provide your information to our support team by emailing [email protected]. Name – Email address – Country – Product name – Brief description of the issue –

It has only been a few days and the connector from the keyboard is already starting to come off at the seam, definitely not the build quality i was expecting. The kickstand also feels like it will give out quickly as well.

The iPad folio offers the protection of a folio case with the convenience of a full size keyboard. Logitech combines these features with the addition of a trackpad.
No batteries to replace since the folio gets its power from the three pin connector on the back of the iPad. talk about clever, they have an opening for the iPen , rear camera, speakers and charger port.
Nice fabric cover surrounds the folio for great look. The folding stand lets me type effortlessly and drawn when I need it to lay at a lower angle. Snaps back flat thanks to built in magnets.
The keyboard is removeable when I want to use the pad by its lonesome.

The Combo Touch for iPad Pro is an excellent alternative to the OEM option. If only I could take aspects of each and mash them up to create the perfect iPad Pro keyboard/trackpad companion!
Design:
Right off the bat I LOVE the Logitech Combo Touch design. The grey woven fabric is beautiful and functional. I much prefer this material to the OEM option. I feel like it's going to be much more durable and won't show fingerprints and smudges as easily. The Combo Touch comes in about 70 grams heavier than the OEM alternative and it's definitely not as sleek.
Keyboard:
One major benefit of the Combo Touch is the removable keyboard. This is HUGE because you don't always need a keyboard, but if you're like me you always want drop protection. The design of the keyboard flops out as part of the cover flap and is definitely creates a larger footprint on a desk than the OEM alternative. Not necessarily a bad thing, just something to consider. The Combo Touch definitely sprawls. The typing and trackpad experience themselves are top notch and definitely on par with the OEM alternative.
Kickstand:
If you ever wanted an iPad to function like a Surface this is the way. My one complaint with the design was that the kickstand hinge had some bounce when in use. It doesn't feel cheap by any means, but when you're adjusting to the height you think you want and you get it just right...it tends to pop back up a bit. That coupled with the added sprawl of the design makes it a little difficult to be lappable compared to the OEM alternative. I don't draw, but I often take notes and I do also like that the kickstand lays flat so I can take notes easily.
Final Notes:
The fact that the Combo Touch uses the smart connector is essential. No batteries, no pairing, just set it and forget it. I would not recommend any iPad keyboard option without a smart connector.
This will be a tough decision for me (tougher than I certainly thought) as to which option I will continue to use as my daily keyboard/case combo. I love that I can quickly detach the keyboard and use my iPad on the treadmill and I love the look and feel of the woven material. I'm not in love with the extra bulk and the sprawling footprint is something I have to consider on my small desk and when traveling.

The case and keyboard are good. The keyboard typing quality is quite nice. On par with what you'd expect out of a Logitech keyboard of this size. They know how to do keyboards well! The trackpad is medium to large for a device in this class but doesn't compare to one on a good laptop. The trackpad is a bit mushy but has an excellent tracking feel. In no way is the mushiness a dealbreaker for me.
Major frustration surrounds the slots in the case portion for the speaker grills. Within the first month of owning and using this, they started to warp, so they no longer snuggly fit the case. They aren't stretched out to catch on anything, but it's very frustrating at this price point to have such immediate wear show on the device.
I was torn between this device and Apple's own Magic Keyboard. I love that Logitech's Folio has a case on the iPad, that can separate from the keyboard, plus a very effective kickstand to prop at any angle you desire. Apples option has a sligtly better keybaord and can still use another compatible case but that still an addition.
I'm not convinced I'd buy this again unless Logitech corrected the wear issues mentioned. I do find that its a bit heavy and I certainly increase the wear dramatically by removing the iPad from the case completely quite often.

This is the first case for my iPad that I see the true value that it adds, it truly blurs the lines between a laptop and tablet. The functionality when using iOS with this case like a laptop surprised me. The fluidity of everything is super smooth from scrolling, moving the cursor, to the rubber band effect built into iOS when you come to the top or bottom of the page .This may be more attributed to iOS than the functionality of the case, but it is still impressive none the less. The track pad, though not the biggest, feels excellent to use. The keyboard is backlit and adjustable, you also can control the volume and brightness of the tablet from the keyboard.
The body of the case has a nice textured feel that appears like it will hold up well. The built in adjustable kickstand keeps the tablet firmly in place. The case does add a decent amount of bulk to the iPad, but being able to remove the keyboard makes noticeable difference. The keyboard is magnetic and easily pops on and off when you want use it as tablet. The ability to remove the keyboard is one of my favorite features, I love having the functionality it adds, but I like being able to remove it when I just want to use a tablet.
The Combo Touch gives you the best of both worlds, a case that can turn your tablet into a laptop or a case that adds protection and versatility to your tablet.

Very nice, compact keyboard with great functionality and trackpad.
It fits snuggly on the ipad pro and the keyboard is reversible to go on the back of the ipad. The kick out back support works well and is stable.
Overall it does add some weight and if using the ipad without the keyboard, I detach and set the keyboard aside.
It would be nice if there was a more secure way to contain the Apple Pencil than just the magnetic area. It is nice to have the cutout on the case that allows for secure magnetic retention while in use, but it isn't good for carrying the case with the pencil in place. A strap, elastic loop on some other better retention would be nice.

This is a great budget option for the iPad Pro user who is wanting to get more out of their tablet. If you want a laptop like experience but don't want to spend the money on the Apple Magic keyboard this is the next best option. It does have some advantages over Apple's keyboard as well such as the function row with quick access to change backlighting (for both screen and keyboard), volume, as well as a few other quick access buttons.
Overall the typing experience is good. Not quite as good as the Apple magic keyboard, but very good for a folio style keyboard and better than some of the other ones I've used in the past (including Logitech's earlier designs).
The touch pad seems just a slight bit less responsive than Apple's but it definitely gets the job done and has more surface area in direct comparison.
What really makes this keyboard case stand out is it's versatility. It has the ability to go from keyboard typing mode, to no keyboard propped up, or set down with a slight angle for sketching. As with anything there is some trade off to this design. The typing position takes up a lot of room! This isn't a problem when using on a desk, but trying to use it in a lap or on a small table becomes difficult if not impossible. The kickstand seems to hold its position pretty well but it is still very springy. So tapping or touching the screen in any position will cause it to give (this is most noticeable and most annoying in the sketching position.
The keyboard attaches by magnet so it's as easy as pulling apart or touching together to change your iPad's setup.
The bumper adds a layer of protection that is nice for keeping the iPad safe, but at the cost of wrecking the light weight sleek feel of the iPad. With the Apple Magic Keyboard or a folio like the one ESR makes you can easily remove the iPad magnetically and use it unencumbered. With the combo touch you are always stuck with the thick feel and added weight of the bumper and kickstand.
I do really like the finish, it's less prone to fingerprints than the Apple magic keyboard and seems like it would be easier to clean. To the eye it almost appears to be a fabric but has a nice look and feel and should be easy to maintain.
Ultimately it's a great deal if you don't care about having the best typing experience available and have plenty of space to stretch it out. I personally prefer the Apple magic keyboard for it's fit/finish and the way it props the iPad up in a smaller foot print (not to mention the extra charging port) but it comes at a cost.

Logitech really came through with this keyboard case and now it makes my iPad a laptop replacement.
The case itself is pretty good on its own. The cutouts for the iPad are lined up perfectly so no issues with cables or sound ports getting covered. The volume and power buttons are somewhat muted. They don't stick out at all and you only see very small raised shapes for them. Still, they are easy to press and haven't been an issue for me. Even with a glass screen protector, there is still a lip on the case that provides some protection from scratches when laid flat. The cloth covering on the case is pretty smooth and has a denim look to it. I think it's a bit too smooth and doesn't quite give me the grip I usually like however it's still a good feeling case in your hands.
The keyboard portion is just great; almost perfect. There are all the usual keys as well as an unlock/lock button to lock your iPad. The keyboard took me a bit of time getting used to it as it's smaller than your typical standard keyboard. The large trackpad is a welcome new feature for me as it makes this whole getup seem like a laptop. You could also pair a BT mouse to round out the whole laptop vibe if you wanted to as well. The keyboard detaches from the case so you're able to use it with/without which is great. Other keyboard cases I've seen you pretty much have to have the keyboard on at all times which can be inconvenient. There is a small flap on the back of the case which allows you to use the case in a variety of positions. You can have the standard laptop style position or you can drop it down to where it's almost flat for graphic design apps or something.
A few things I didn't like about the case;
1. It's not all that easy to open the case. There's no notch or tab where you can easily grab/pull to open the case. I find myself trying to open the clamshell case by prying it open with my fingernails.
2. I have the Apple pen and there's nothing on the case that secures it to the iPad. My other case had a small compartment where I can stick my pen in and it would stay there without falling out. Since there's nothing on this case like that, there's a good chance the pen will fall off whenever putting in your bag. Even something like a loop would've been nice to store your pen.
3. The flap you open to adjust the viewing angle of the iPad seems a bit flimsy. It's just a piece of metal that you fold in/out and doesn't feel like it'll last a long time. Also, depending on the surface you're using the iPad on, the back flap can shift and lose it's original position.
4. There is a companion app you download for this keyboard case. Aside from mapping the keys, there's nothing else that it does. I would've like to see some settings menu perhaps like changing keyboard backlighting brightness or trackpad sensitivity. I'm hoping it'll come with future updates but, for now, it doesn't do anything besides mapping keys.
Overall, I find this a great addition to my iPad. I have the flexibility to use it with the keyboard or without. The case provides suitable protection for my iPad whether I use the keyboard or not. The trackpad is just great as it makes those late night scrolling sessions much easier. Battery drain doesn't seem too bad however I haven't really put it to the test quite yet. Still though, great case and really top notch keyboard.
Hi, we're glad to see you're enjoying the Combo Touch! This is an amazing accessory to have with you iPad! Continue to enjoy your wireless freedom!

As the recent WWDC21 highlighted, Apple is designing iPadOS 15 with much more emphasis on multi-tasking and thoughtfully targeting real-world working situations.
The new M1 iPad Pro 12.9 XDR paired with this Logitech Combo Touch fully-functioning keyboard mostly obviates the need for a separate MacBook, save for some power users and apps like Final Cut Pro X and Logic Pro X not (yet?) ported to iPad.
Having tested previous iterations and various keyboards, I say with confidence this model rectifies my biggest grips of years past, namely lack of a trackpad and backlit keys. This feels much more like using an actual laptop, when the task calls for it, yet retains portability where touch and swipe input will satisfy.
Considering the iPad Pro is now powered by the same M1 processor as their MBP, it’s able to accomplish far more powerful tasks than in the past. The addition of the gorgeous XDR mini-LED display turns this kit into a truly powerful multipurpose work / media / entertainment station.
Pros
+ Smart Connector (no pairing nor charging)
+ lightweight keyboard (no battery)
+ durable textured protective cover
+ 4 usage modes
-type
-view
-sketch
-read
+ large trackpad surface
+ supports multitouch gestures
-pinch
-swipe
-zoom
-tap
+ auto-adjusting backlit keys (16 brightness levels)
+ iPadOS shortcut keys (screen +/-, keys +/-, media controls, vol +/-, search)
Cons
-Apple keyboard looks nicer (at more $$$)
Conclusion
If you’re an owner of the 12.9-inch iPad Pro and wish to use it more like a laptop for faster text input than on-screen keyboard this Logitech Combo Touch deserves serious consideration.
