Don’t waste your money. This thing is junk with a high price tag. It does not have the suction like a corded vacuum does. Also, if you’re vacuuming the whole house forget about it. It will take you double the time because you’ll have to charge the battery in the middle of it. The battery charge does not last very long even if you have the suction power turned down. Stick with corded, especially if you have pets!

Worked for a year and a half and then motor went out. Was constantly getting clogged in 3 different spots. It’s versatile, but not worth the money.

For me, this vacuum is the best. I like that it’s so lite. Used it in my car over the weekend. Love that it gets hard floors too. The wireless is so refreshing. It picks up real good. Don’t really have to constantly go over the same area twice. Battery lasts like it should. Depending how big your area is and how much you vacuum, the battery should last for like 2 weeks before charging. It’s very smooth and not loud, thanks to the speed level controls which makes night vacuuming more tolerable. I did think it would feel cheap but not at all. Again, it definitely picks up like the heavy duty vacuums. Your carpet will look fresh. I don’t have any pets so I can’t chime in on that experience. You will not be disappointed with this one.

The SHARK rules!

I have been a big fan of the Shark family of products and another "major vacuum maker" for many years. The other brand rhymes with the word bison. However, my go to vacuum is now the Shark!
Unpacking and set up was easy, and the unit came with plenty of charge straight out of the box. Included were some good instructions which allowed me to set up this vacuum in a few short minutes. Nothing tricky and there were no surprises.
The vacuum is highly maneuverable at the twist of ones wrist, and best of all it's not tiring to use. I was pleased with how well it cleaned my floors and carpets and how easy it was to clean the vacuum itself. The brush-roll boast a self-cleaning feature and so far it appears to work! NO MORE tangled hair in the rollers! What a relief as I hate untwisting hair from vacuum rollers.
PROS:
Buttons are digital and are activated by a light touch.
Suction power is adjustable.
Separate adjustment for hardwood/tile floors and carpeting.
The brush-roll is self cleaning.
CONS:
The vacuum had a tendency to grab small rugs when vacuuming them. The suction tends to grab them and not let go.
Attachments can not be stored on the body of the vacuum. You will have to pigeon hole them in one of your closets.
I would have liked to be able to charge the vacuum without removing the battery from the vacuum itself.
Vacuum is lighted and lights up the travel path.
Vacuum has a pretty decent under the furniture reach (when separated from the handle assembly).
Hepa filtration catches nearly 100% of allergens and dust.
All is all I enjoyed this Shark vacuum. It's fantastic at picking up dirt during the first sweep of the floor. I did not have to vacuum any sections of my home more than once. The removable extension handle and attachments make it extremely versatile. Best of all it's cordless and has good battery life. My home is approximately 2000 square feet and I had no problem on the medium and low settings in finishing my entire home without recharging. Look out competition......Here comes the SHARK!

Great Versatility; Excels on Hard Surfaces

Executive Summary:
1. This unit excels on hard surfaces, picking up dust and edge debris better than most corded vacuums
2. The unit also has quite a bit of versatility, allowing it to be used in multiple configurations with the handle and hose, allowing you to reach high and low areas, as well as under furniture
3. The vacuum can thoroughly clean about 1200 square feet of multiple surfaces on a single charge, or just over 30 minutes of run time
4. The unit has great maneuverability and is relatively lightweight
5. The vacuum works great on scatter rugs that normally get eaten up by corded vacuums
6. Great display that is easy to read; easy and straightforward controls
My family put this cordless Shark vacuum through the paces, and it performed well. Shark has an excellent reputation with their vacuums, and we own several corded models that we use regularly. Assembly of the vacuum took about 15 minutes--it was very simple from either the instruction book or the pictures on the top opening of the box. Charging the battery to full capacity took a little over two hours (and we found that overall, charging took longer than expected).
Our first and second floors have a mix of hardwood floors, plush carpet, and a laminated hard surface. Our lower level has a mix of plush carpeting, Berber carpeting, and linoleum. I will also mention that we have scatter rugs of varying sizes in the kitchen, entryways, and bathrooms. We were able to vacuum one floor at a time with a normal thorough cleaning on a single charge--meaning that it took three full charges to fully vacuum the entire house.
Using the middle power setting for hard floors was the best combination for the linoleum, laminate and hardwood floors. While our corded vacuums typically do not work well on hard surfaces (they don't pick up dust well and leave streaks from the wheels), this vacuum picked up all the dust and left no marks. This vacuum spins the brush at a very slow speed on the hard surface setting instead of just using suction (like corded models). This really makes a great difference on picking up the dust and debris (like bathroom lint). It did a great job! In addition, this vacuum worked well all the way to the edge of the vacuum head, which was another great plus.
On the plush and Berber carpeting, the highest power setting in carpet mode was the best. The ECO setting is adequate for a quick surface clean, but if there is any embedded debris in the carpet, you need to put it on the highest power setting or it won't get picked up. This vacuum does not leave deep lines in the carpet like corded models, but as long as it picks everything up, that is all that matters.
The scatter rug performance was a pleasant surprise. These rugs are impossible to vacuum with a corded vacuum, as they get sucked up into the machine if you want them cleaned well. Not so with this vacuum. On the carpet setting and medium power, vacuuming the scatter rugs was not an issue, and it did a fabulous job. The same was true for our car floor mats.
The maneuverability of this vacuum is excellent. The head swivels nearly 90 degrees. The lights on the front of the vacuum illuminate the floor well to see hidden cobwebs and such. In addition, the ability to easily remove the hose and handle make the reach of the vacuum quite extensive. Removing the canister portion of the vacuum allows you to get the unit nearly completely flat to get under furniture--a fantastic feature.
The display is bright and easy to read; the controls are easy to understand and change. The battery level is in increments of 10% and is the largest item in the display.
A few small items of note. First was that the booklet sent with the vacuum was for a different (but similar) model. The book indicated the vacuum would come with different accessories and an accessory bag; the box reflected what we actually received. Second, there are no attachments on the vacuum for the accessories, nor is there a bag to store them. Third, when you detach the hose from the main unit, the lights on the vacuum go out. When the lights go out, I can't see the cobwebs in the corners anymore, which is why I detached the hose to begin with. Lastly, as with any battery powered appliance or tool, there is range anxiety. The display does a good job of continually notifying the user of the battery level, but I did find myself rushing at times to finish the job before the battery got really low. Not a big deal once you know how much of the house you can finish on a single charge.
Overall, this vacuum performed very well. Hard surface performance was outstanding--better than our corded vacuums. For any type of carpeting, the high power setting is a must-use to get out any embedded debris. The unit is light and easy to handle; the display is bright and the controls are intuitive. I really wouldn't recommend the ECO mode except for very light cleaning. With our mix of floor surfaces, the vacuum thoroughly cleaned about one floor at a time, or about 1200 square feet, per battery charge.

I purchased this as I have pet friendly home. I hated it from the first use. The hose felt out of place and in my way and was awkward and cumbersome. Love my shark products but this one was not for me. Cannot give it my recommendation.

I have a Shark ION P50 vacuum, so I was looking forward to receiving this one to compare the two.
First of all, this is a really good vacuum. It's cordless and has just as much power as a plug-in machine. It's light weight and very well designed for versatility and maneuverability. You can use it as an upright or a cannister vacuum by lifting the body of the vacuum off of the handle part. The battery lasts long enough to get most of your vacuuming done. There's even a "fuel gauge" that tells you how much battery you have left. Somehow it has phenomenal vacuum power without sounding like a jet taking off, but it does have higher power settings that are louder.
I really like how easy it is to pull off parts to clear a clog or clean/change a filter.
However, I have a huge problem with tool storage. It has awesome features and power, but it still doesn't come with any way to store the attachments!! It's so portable and maneuverable, you'd think tool clips or something would be natural. But just like my ION from 3 years ago, there's no place to put the tools. The instructions say it comes with a storage bag, but it doesn't.
The battery pulls out for charging and comes with a charging base. My ION vacuum's battery is also removable and ALMOST identical. The Vertex battery fits in the ION, the ION battery fits in the Vertex charger, but the ION battery DOES NOT fit in the Vertex. Really guys? Why??
Battery inconsistency and tool storage cost this two stars from an otherwise 5-star review.
So -- this one is going to live in my RV. At least that's a smaller space so I wouldn't have to run up and down stairs looking for the attachments.
