Great value for an off the shelf laptop. Needed a laptop *now* and customization was scheduled 2 months out. Fairly decent specs for an off the shelf purchase

Outstanding laptop. Initial setup could be a little clearer for novice users, but once you figure out the beginning step the rest is a breeze.

Hot Garbage

Hot garbage. Literally. I tried playing Cyberpunk with ray tracing, and it was a hard no go. I couldn't get 60 fps even with all the settings set to low and ray tracing off. The system got so hot it actually burned me. I'll be returning this.
It's probably fine if you don't want to play games and want to do something like set things to render and walk away while it roasts its insides compiling data or whatever professionals do.

No charging via thunderbolt ports.

This laptop seems to have everything on paper, but it's missing one crazy thing that seems to have been left out. Charging via the thunderbolt ports. All thunderbolt 4 ports are supposed to support charging via Intel specifications. The fact that they somehow went around this goes against the entire thunderbolt specification. Every other thunderbolt laptop has this. Other hps with lesser specs have this. It's strange and a giant oversight. I use my laptop in multiple places. I don't want to lug around a giant power brick chargers and an extra will run you about 130 bucks on the cheaper end. Just not worth it if you're looking to have something future proof. Really bummed, as this laptop has literally everything else I need.

Disappointed

I've had my laptop for about 3 years now. Recently it stopped recognizing any external hard drive I try to connect to it. This is hindering me from doing my job. The fan is loud. It gets hot super easily. It doesn't hold much of a charge anymore. The "fancy" speakers are crap. If I have my wrist on the laptop while using the trackpad it distorts the sound. Only nice thing is the RAM and graphics card. I don't think I'll buy an HP laptop again any time soon.
