it comes with a few manuals. pick the smallest or most colorful and try your hand. I bought an $8 steak and went to work. the manual was a little confusing but it was because I didn't read it thru, I was spot reading. once I figured out the different settings and agreed with the cheat sheet I was able to throw a frozen steak onto the meat tray, defrost it in 2 mins, throw a few seasonings on and cook in 13mins. I can out really juicy, not burnt and easy to cut and chew. imagine coming home, and throwing a frozen steak and veggies into this Foodi and having dinner ready in less than 20mins. all while doing something else. I like the feature of being able to open it while its cooking just in case you want to taste it or add more stuff inside. the only gripe I have is the size. its huge. and it has 2 lids so it doesn't store very easily. I will need to find an easy place to store it. it also seems really easy to clean. I like and cant wait to cook more stuff.

This Ninja Foodi impressed me a lot. I got this for my mom as she likes to cook and prepare fresh and crispy food for dinner. This Ninja is all in one, pressure cooker, air fryer and oven. I put some hot dogs and chicken patties and set the air fryer timer for 10 minutes and was amazed by the result, was crispy and well done. The other thing that amazed me is this cooker is too quiet compared to what I have in home. All of the baskets, pots are dishwasher safe which is really convenient. I liked it very much and the only thing that needs attention is this cooker takes space and must be free and not blocked by any thing around it since it has vents on the back.

The best small appliance!

The Ninja Foodi has so many functions it basically is like five small appliances in one. I bought the Ninja Foodi in hopes to replace my slow cooker but also because I wanted a pressure cooker. It has changed the way I prepare and cook food. Meals that normally take 6-8 hours on a slow cooker now take about one hour on a pressure cooker setting if not less. I work long hours and having the ability to cook a meal faster is priceless in my book. I love that this one comes with a cooking rack versus the smaller version of this one. I was going to get an Instant Pot but was sold on this one because the sales person was super passionate about how well this one worked compared to others. I was convinced! I am so glad he convinced me because I understand now after using my Ninja Foodi why this is the best choice. It sautes, pressure cooks, air fry, bakes, and more. The recipe book is pretty good too and I have made several dishes which all turned out amazing. The recipe book was easy to follow and had cooking times for meat, vegetables, etc. on different settings which was incredibly useful for a beginner. I even taught my boyfriend how to cook and he agrees it’s one of the best things we have bought and added to our kitchen. It is pricey but the amount of uses and cooking functions you get with this product are worth it. The only thing I will say is that the Ninja Foodi is quite large and will take up space on the counter top or in a cabinet but I knew that before I bought it and I still made the purchase. If you’re on the fence about which one to get you won’t regret it.

Let me start out by saying I was a bit intimidated when I first opened the box. There was a lot going on and I'm not the best cook in the kitchen... that's probably an understatement. None the less I persevered with reading through all of the material the Ninja Foodi came with (a quite long instruction manual, a cook book and a cheat sheet, to be precise). I was already planning on making chili so I decided to first try out the slow cooker option. It worked perfectly, in 4.5 hours my chili was hot and ready to go (I used the HI setting). That same evening I tried out the other lid with the air crisper option... let me say I was impressed again. I made chicken nuggets for my daughter and they were so much better than the result we get from the oven! Leaps and bounds. Almost as good as if I had used a deep fryer, but NONE of the fat from oil. Next I made a meatloaf and it was absolutely perfect, better than the last one I made in the conventional oven, much more juicy. I am so very happy with the Ninja Foodi and honestly cannot wait to try more things out in this awesome beast of a cooking machine!

This pressure cooker/crisper is a great tool that we have used in the kitchen numerous times since opening it 10 days ago. This is our first pressure cooker so there has been a little bit of a learning curve for us.,
First, the weight. Its heavy, like 20-30 lbs heavy. My wife has a hard time taking it out of the cupboard and putting it back after use. I have never actually lifted up a cooker like this, so i do not have much of a comparison point..
Aesthetics aside, this cooker can do it all. It cooks in less, browns in even less. I was shocked at what it can do compared to my convection oven in a fraction of the time.
Another thing we really enjoyed about this cooker was the recipe packet that was provided. It gave us some super easy to construct recipes which did not put us in the "veteran pressure cooker" category... this allowed us to ease into the use.
All in all, we like it so far, and heaviness aside would recommend it.

More than an instant pot

So I have a rice cooker and a 7qt Instant Pot. The rice cooker was retired when I got the Instant Pot and I think the Ninja Foodi will be my go to cooker now. It does most of the functions of an Instant Pot and more. Tonight I unboxed the unit and accessories, washed them all with hot soapy water and dried them. I then wanted to try something simple and something the Instant Pot doesn't do. So I chose frozen french fries. I set the unit to 20 minutes and let it heat up for the first five. Then I added 3 minutes to make it 18 for cooking. During the warm up I added a pound of frozen fries to the baking pot and it was ready to drop in. I opened the unit about 4 times to stir/toss the fries a bit and each time the cooking paused with no issues. It wasn't super hot and I didn't have a mitten on. I was just careful not to get too close in case of steam or touching a hot surface. The fries came out great. Almost burnt, but mostly golden brown. The outside was snappy and the inside was soft and just right. I never get fries like that out of my oven.
I waited to clean the pots as they were hot even through a mitt. I ate my fries...which again were delish and then with a mitt I removed the cooking pot and baking pot and cooled them under a cold streaming faucet. Then a quick was with a few drops of Dawn and a good rinse. I know I'm going to be using this as I enjoy many frozen items. I need to read the book and see if I can do frozen hot wings next. I have a couple of bags in the freezer ready for some blue cheese dressing! If you like easy cooking, the recipe book has a lot of choices besides frozen foods to try. Most of them required a number of ingredients that I didn't have on hand, so I went with my favorite frozen food. For me and my type of cooking, I highly recommend the Ninja Foodi!

At first we were putting it away. Now it just stays on the counter... Being in a house of two competitive foodies, we love to cook and the methods to the madness of getting to that perfect dish.
Oil fryer no more. Sure there are some things, like Grandma Lupe's sopapillas, that need a hot oil bath. Oil immersed cooking is rare and not our thing. But this gives us healthy options for the simpler fried foods while also serving as a cooker and pressure cooker. 'Love the fact of low oil consumption and no smell in the kitchen like with a traditional fryer. The magic is in the fan, heating element and lid. It keeps everything contained and the fan circulates the heat on the food and away from the heating element. What you get is quick results and a clean cooker and area.
With the Ninja air fryer we have perfected our chicken wings and cook the best bacon - with no mess! We've made several delicious stews, roasts and other concoctions. There are a plethora of videos on line and air fryer recipes.
We are both, hands down, blow away with this devices. We use the pressure cooker, Crisper/Air Fryer and cooker functions. All of this with simplicity.
The best kitchen device to come along in a long time.

If I could give the Ninja Foodi ten stars I would! The Shark/Ninja company has not disappointed me with any product I have from them. The majority of the time I’ll be using the air crisp feature and so far I cannot be happier. Made 12 oz. of chicken nuggets, usually takes 30 minutes in the oven, in the Ninja it was 12 minutes. The chicken nuggets were crispy on the outside but juicy on the inside. Also made some crispy crowns that tasted like they would if you fried them. Using the air fryer feature you can easily check on your food while it’s cooking and also add or subtract time. In today’s crazy world where there never seems to be enough time, this is a must have appliance that can save you time and help you eat healthier. Being an air fryer and pressure cooker adds so much value to this unit, especially considering you have seven ways to cook with it. Ninja Foodi is a grand slam! This is the perfect gift for a “Foodi” even if that Foodi is you!

Pressure cooking speed, oven baked crispy outside

I've cooked with stove top pressure cookers to make sauce, and main course meals. I was truly amazed that this appliance can quickly cook a whole chicken, then nicely bake the outside to a crispy, crunchy finish. A lot more appetizing!
Normal pressure cooking does a great job cooking the poultry, but leaves the skin looking like it was boiled. The Ninja TenderCrisp finishes the meal by air baking like a oven.
What I like:
solid base, hinged crisper lid built in
large gauge wire power cord
easy to read front controls
includes 6.5 quart main nonstick pot, hi-low shelf, crisper basket, also non stick
recipe booklet to get you started
separate pressure cooking lid also doubles as a steamer lid
keep warm function after main cooking function finishes.
safely auto OFF if left on too long.
What I noticed:
read the book! Always be careful when releasing the pressure . Steam vents safely and quickly without running the lid under water like a stovetop cooker. Plan for this when you decide where to cook with your air Crisper.

Guys, I'm just going to come out and say it. I love to cook and anything that enhances that love is a plus in my book. But this really made my loe of meal prep escalate to eleven. I made the chicken dish on the box as soon as I got it home. And wow! That chicken was kickin'. If you are slightly interested in getting a pressure cooker, you should definitely pick one up. This is and amazing choice and it leaves room for improvement with accessories you can pick up separately on a later date. If you decide to do more. There's so much more to do, just so you know. As always, I've added a link to my online review, if you care to check it out. It was kind of short and sweet, as I couldn't wait to get back into the kitchen. This is a total buy. I recommend the Ninja Foodi to every cook and some non-cooks as well.

I LOVE the Ninja Foodi!!! I love it so much, this is the second one I've purchased. Here's a plug for Best Buy: I ordered my first one from that *other* site -- you know the one... the one that's making all of that online money during this pandemic! I got this larger one (6.5 qt)from Best Buy yesterday and it was over $10 cheaper than the one (5 qt) I ordered from (that other place).
I've been through 3 Instant Pots. Literally, one of them lasted one week and one day. They all died in under a month of use. I will never again buy an Instant Pot. They all end up on the curb on a sooner-or-later Tuesday. Lesson learned.
The Ninja Foodi is quite hardy and sturdy. Some people complain that it's a counter space hog due to the two separate lids -- one permanently affixed for air-fry/baking duties, and a separate, removable lid for pressure cooking. That issue can be easily and inexpensively fixed with an $11 silicone lid holder that affixes the pressure lid to the air crisper lid. Perhaps it should have been included with the unit, but that's a minor quibble.
I've owned my first one for about 60 days now, and I've cooked every meal in it since. I've used my stove only once, and that was to boil water. The ability to bake, pressure cook, saute and sear, air fry, slow cook, dehydrate (if that's your thing) almost makes your other very expensive kitchen appliances redundant.
There's a wealth of Ninja Foodi recipes on the internet in case you can't find what you need in their very limited cookbooks. The other night, I prepared for my wife a splendid pot roast that would have taken hours in the oven. It was fork-tender and falling apart after 95 minutes under pressure.
This morning, I prepared an open-faced 3-egg omelet with bacon, sausage, cheese, onions, and mushrooms for my wife. She doesn't want another pan-fried omelet ever again.
Buffalo chicken wings are spectacular when they're pressure cooked and then air fried. Most people just air fry them, and they're good -- just not AS good as with the Ninja Foodi.
There's a period of trial and error, but I've made few errors. As a rule of thumb, when air crisping or baking, check what's going on inside the pot and adjust your cook time accordingly. If it's done to your satisfaction after 10 minutes when the recipe calls for 15, take it out. Don't rely on the recipes for cook times. But if you're pressure cooking, just put it on and walk away. It will let you know when it's done.
For instance, tonight I'm making salsa pulled chicken breasts. I will season it, put it in the pot, set it on pressure for 10 minutes, and then walk away. Presto! Dinner!!!
Don't sleep on this, folks!

I bought this on a recommendation that my friend gave me.
It's very easy to clean, and the functions are easy to learn.
I've made a couple pressure cooker meals to include Korean Braised short ribs, Bolognese sauce and pork salsa verde.
Still trying to dial in the temps and timing for air frying but so far so good on all the foods I've made. (Corn dogs, schnitzel, breaded zucchini fries) The air crisp mode is also great for reheating small amounts of leftover fried foods when you don't want to get the oven going.
My only complaints are the size and weight, so if you have limited counter space or storage, please take measurements prior to purchase!
Very happy with my purchase!

I bought this for my fiancé, didn't know if she would like it or use it. Lets just say she atopped using her air fryer which was her favorite. Now she barely uses it and her ninja foodi is what she cooks the majority of the meals. It is surprisingly easy to use and the food comes out delicious. I recommend this Ninja product.

I couldn’t be happier! I’ve learned all kinds of shortcuts and this one machine really does do it all plus cuts down cooking time to mere minutes. Love that I can sauté ingredients before slow cooking or pressure cooking and can broil food for crispy brown food. While I don’t Air fry too much it’s nice to have it all in this one counter top appliance. Great buy!!
