Decent printer but MAJOR HASSLE TO SCAN

Major pain if you want to scan which requires you to download an APP to your phone and scan through the APP. Dont know why you cant just lay it on the glass and hit a scan button. If there is a simpler way to scan would love to know. No paper manual included all on the internet. Online instructions are vague.
