Good looking machine; runs any game i have tried so far on ultimate settings.
CPU idle temp avg around 50C.
Heavy use(gaming + streaming + other media) CPU temp avg around 75C.
GPU temp 30C - 35C idle, 70C - 75C heavy use.
Will i add a fan or two? Yes
Do i have to? No
Pros: rtx 3080 & ryzen 7 5800x
Cons: making all rgb lights on the PC blue did not lower the temp, it does look cool though ;)

Overall surprised by the quality of the cable management and the case materials.
+1 for the use of legitimate brands in most of the components.
The only shortcoming is indeed with the HP motherboard - it does not allow for much tinkering at all, especially around the CPU.
Ultimately the Omen Gaming Hub does -ok- to manage system performance, but I wish I had a way to control fan curves for the AIO cooler.
Surprisingly, the 120mm AIO manages just fine with the 5800x during gaming (which rarely should require high CPU usage), but the fans only seem to know two settings - quiet or jet-engine-loud. And the AIO fan waits until the CPU reaches 85C+ degrees to turn it up - so you get this annoying jet engine sound periodically, which actually cools the CPU right back down, but would be better if I could control it to run at 50% all the time so that the CPU temp stays more constant, rather than bouncing up and down depending on the tasks.

Have had no issues with this computer apart from high CPU temps and a loud CPU cooler, as to be expected from a stock HP cooler. Install a Corsair Liquid Cooler (H60) in this if you buy it, and from there on out you're golden. Anyone complaining about dents, pieces missing, anything like that- obviously those issues happened in shipping. If you pick up from the store you are near guarenteed to not have these issues. Definitley well worth the price even knowing you need an aftermarket cooler.

Fantastic PC for the value and not as much bloatware as expected from HP. The temps were a bit warm but a swap of case for better airflow made for a PC that has run everything Ive thrown at it with high 4k settings.

I see lots of reviews talking about what it needs to be great, but look... It's a good price for what you get, and it's a great way to get a 3080 for the same price as you'd get the card by itself from a scalper. If you want an NVME or more RAM, you can upgrade it later, but this is 5 stars for the price as advertised. My only real qualm is it shipping with Windows 11, bur that's more of a personal gripe.

Coming from a 10+ year old build, this is amazing. Don't know why other people say it idles at a high temp but my CPU idle is 46 degrees.
I don't know computers at all but I know 3080 is super expensive and rare, so getting a prebuilt with it at 1999 seemed worth. They seem to have increased the price by 100 now though.

Good hardware but runs hot

I bought this computer as an upgrade to my old tower that was running a 3900x and a 1080ti. I am happy at the noticeable boost in performance but the computer runs hot out of the box. The issue stems from the CPU and the lack of cooling with the tiny rear fan (less than 120mm) and single fan aio. I fixed the cooling issue by undervolting my CPU in Ryzen Master. The GPU is great though and runs reasonably cool without any tweaking. I wish there were options to add more fans or even replace the rear fan but it quickly becomes apparent that this case was made very specifically to hold the hardware that HP included out of the box and that's it. On top of this the motherboard doesnt support custom fan profiles in the bios (unless im missing a bios update) so you'll need to rely on software on your computer like HP Command Center which doesnt even give full control over fan speed. Some things the case does well though like providing sata cables and power connectors next to HDD bays for easy storage expansion or integrating a gpu support into the case to stop sag. I think the computer has the potential to be great but the limitations of the case and board are ultimately steering me toward taking all the hardware out and putting it into a new case so i can have proper cooling. But it will all be worth it to not pay a cent to scalpers for up to date hardware

In love with this PC. My first gaming desktop rig. I've been using a 2060 legion laptop for last two years and decided to finally pull the trigger on a desktop and no regrets. I got the r7 5800x with a 3080 chip and runs everything perfectly. Heating isn't pretty decent compared to what others have said which has my CPU hovering about 75 C.
I would recommend this to anyone and everyone. I am very pleased with my purchase.

The OEM rtx 3080 is pretty impressive, and given the market its tough to find this kind of value anywhere else- one big issue is the 5800x runs notoriously HOT, and combined with the subpar airflow of this cass, i was idling at 50c out of the box and spiking straight to 80c in gaming. HPs bios doesnt allow for any fan curve manipulation so youre limited to the gaming hubs quiet, normal, or turbo settings, which in testing makes me think it only kicks in at mid to high 80s and goes off like a leaf blower when it does. Also for some reason the gaming hub has a microvolt setting of like 1.375 in their clunkily designed overclock section, so I highly recommend downloading ryzen master and undervolting this to at least 1.2. Ill eventually change out the mobo and case but beggers cant be choosers and its nice overall.

cable management and airflow is terrible but otherwise it's a good computer. I got an open box deal on it which cost me $1900 USD. Still kind of steep but not the worst. Keep in mind the motherboard and PSU are proprietary HP parts. It does support gen 4 and it seems okay. You can remove the CPU, RAM, drives and GPU like any other motherboard so upgrading in the future should work fine.

One of the best values out there, maybe THE best aesthetics for a pre-built in 2021. Incredibly clean rear panel. The GPU is braced to combat sag. If you don't like the cooler - upgrade the case and get a dual fan/larger radiator. If you don't like the LHR aspect of the GPU when it comes to mining get smart and figure out how to unleash the full capability of the 3080. If you think this is anything less than stellar in the current market the limitations are on your imagination - not this unit. What a steal.

Just got this PC about a week ago, knowing it's common for this machine to run hot, and sure enough, when I got it, the idle temps ranged from ~55-65C.
The problem is not that the cooling systems are bad, although it certainly plays a part; The bigger issue is that the case just has bad airflow. Funny enough, removing the glass side panel dropped idle temps by ~10C. When I ran Cinebench, the highest temp it reached was 86.4C, which isn't great don't get me wrong, but considering 99.9% of games don't optimize multithreading enough to fully use all X cores of your PC, it's safe to say you won't reach thermal throttling by doing this. With that said, I might go ahead and upgrade the cooling system just to be sure. With that also said, it kind of sucks you're left with an open chassis.
The PC does act funny in sleep mode with fans revving up and not being able to wake it up from sleep mode, a very common issue with Omen desktops, but this issue can be easily avoided by using hibernation mode instead of sleep mode.
I also had issues with audio. The first sounds that are played are really low and take some time for the sound to reach a barely audible sound. The next few sounds are at the audio normal level. The issue comes back when I wait for some time. it's as if it takes a super long time for the speakers to make sound at a normal volume. This has been repeated with another speaker and a headset. This can be fixed by not using hp's proprietary audio drivers.
Other than that, everything works as intended. GPU thermals aren't an issue since the side panel makes it pretty much completely open, and the performance is just fine when testing on the Superposition benchmarking software.
Def could use some tuning up, but overall a great PC relative to its cost.

After over a year of use the computer thermal throttles very regularly. The cpu cooler is subpar and the airflow is nonexistent. I have to keep my side pannel off and undervolt my cpu to 1 volt every time I boot up my computer because the only way to manage your hardware is through omen gaming hub (wich stopped working and will not launch anymore by the way) and it does not save your changes after you turn off your computer. You cannot change anything in the bios either. And with this computer you cannot just let it sleep because it will not turn back on after about 2 hours unless you physically unplug it and plug it back in. This has been more of a headache than its worth.

This gaming pc is great and works well beyond what I could have imagined. A lot of the complaints I read in these reviews I did not have any issues with the system, and it runs great even under load.
I will keep best buy and HP OMEN products in my sights and continue to use best buy as a retailer as for what they charged for this PC you cannot buy the components and build it yourself for the price. Great price and a amazing product.
