Customers frequently mention the premium feel, amazing battery life, and responsive keys of the MX Mechanical Mini keyboard. Many appreciate its compact size, making it ideal for travel, and find it easy to use and connect to multiple devices. While some find the price a bit high, the positive feedback on the typing experience and features outweighs this concern for most users. The keyboard's weight is noted by some, but generally considered acceptable given its build quality.

This Logitech MX Mechanical Mini keyboard is an up

This Logitech MX Mechanical Mini keyboard is an upgrade in mostly every way, compared to my previous rechargeable mini Logitech keyboard. This keyboard being noticeably heavier than my old Logitech compact keyboard, is the only detail about this keyboard, that is less desirable. This keyboard is almost twice as heavy as my older Logitech K810 keyboard. See the keyboard weights compared below, of which I have a really accurate digital scale that I weighed both keyboards with. Older Logitech K810 Bluetooth illuminated keyboard weight: 12.1 ounces This Logitech MX Mechanical Mini keyboard weight: 21.5 ounces This Logitech MX Mechanical Mini keyboard weighing 21.5 ounces, is really quite a bit of weight, if it is sitting on the lap the whole time that the keyboard is being used. This keyboard is definitely more pleasant to type with, when it is sitting on a desktop, and not on the lap. This keyboard has a really responsive sensor that detects when fingers are near the keys, and this automatically illuminates the keys while typing. The keyboard illumination turns off 6 seconds after the sensor no longer detects hand activity near the keyboard. I viewed this keyboard on the Logitech website, and it says that this keyboard has an estimated battery life of up to 10 months with the backlight turned off, and a battery life of around 15 days with the backlight turned on, so if typing in a well lit room, turning the backlight off will result in a much better battery life. This Logitech MX Mechanical Mini keyboard does have a better than average build quality, compared to most other keyboards, and this is why I am rating this keyboard at 4 out of 5 stars, of which if this keyboard did not weigh so much, then it would be the perfect keyboard. This is definitely the best keyboard that I have ever owned.

Foreword: I have an appreciation for good keyboards, and own other mechanical keyboards. I'm a software developer so I spend a lot of time typing on the keyboard. The most obvious feature is that this is a mechanical keyboard, and it’s wireless. The layout is universal for both macOS and PCs. There are two sizes: Full-size or mini. The mini (in this review) Both have the same size keys and the mini does not have the number keypad nor the section with editing and arrow keys. Those are on the size. This is a similar arrangement as a laptop keyboard, but with the editing keys to the right side. There are also three type of mechanical switches for this model: Mine is the 'Tactile Quiet'. Other styles are 'Linear' and 'Clicky'. The quiet part is good because clicky keyboards tend to be too loud if there is other people around you it’s likely it will bother them; however if one typed in classic IBM keyboards, the clicky more resembles that. I always used full-size keyboards, but there is a benefit I didn't realize about 'Mini' keyboards: A mouse or trackpad will stay closer to the keyboard, which I find more efficient: The right hand doesn't need to travel as much when switching between mouse and keyboard, and hands stay closer together when using a trackpad or mouse. Packaging: There is no plastic in the packaging except for some tape, and it's all recyclable cardboard. The keyboard charges via USB-C and comes with an USB-C to USB-A cable. Also comes with an USB adapter (dongle) that is also USB-A. The keyboard itself has some weight. It's made of thick plastic with an actual aluminum top. Logi Bolt: This is Logitech's newer USB to wireless adapter that they have been offering for the past year or so. They claim it's more secure and also uses a newer Bluetooth standard. I'm typing this review on a Mac using the keyboard with the Bolt adapter for several reasons: I have the adapter connected to a dock, so I swap laptops on my desk using the same setup. Also because I use FileVault on mac (It's the standard disk encryption that everyone uses on mac), for some reason only Apple keyboards can be used to enter the initial password, or USB keyboards but not 3rd party keyboards. That's an issue for me. Also I also switch between Windows and Linux laptops and on those, I cannot access the BIOS with a Bluetooth keyboard but works just fine with the adapter. The same Bolt adapter can be used with another compatible mouse (At the same time as the keyboard). It does not work with Logitech's older 'Unifying' receiver. Like other MX keyboards from Logitech, it supports three paired devices (computers or tablets/phones) that can be either Bluetooth or use a Bolt adapter. Backlight: There is an LED for each key, which is controlled individually. The light is white and has several intensity levels and light patterns. I'm currently using it in 'reaction' mode: The backlight is almost off and the key lights up for an instant when pressed. Other patterns are static (standard), contrast (special keys light up brighter), waves and random. Patterns are pre-set. Software: The new 'Logitech Options+' software for macOS and Windows can be used for keyboard settings and also allows some per-application custom settings as well. It's also used for the 'Flow' feature which allows sharing the same keyboard and compatible mouse with up to three computers and also allows drag/drop on different computers over WiFi. It works well in both macOS and Windows. Battery: From previous experience with the MX keyboards, the battery lasts several weeks without backlighting and a few days with backlighting always on while using it. This keyboard seems to come with la larger battery life. Like other mechanical keyboards, keycaps are removable, where it reveals the brown switch. It's easy to clean as the switches are elevated from the surface. Caveat: It's an excellent keyboard; however with small areas for improvement: - The keyboard cannot be used as a wired keyboard: The USB port is for charging only (The bolt adapter effectively makes it look like an USB keyboard however). - Initial login in macOS does not work when paired via Bluetooth (It does work with the Bolt adapter). - The adapter is USB-A. There is no Bolt adapter for direct USB-C (Needs a 3rd party adapter). Overall, it's an excellent product. Mechanical keyboards have a much different feeling than membrane or scissor keyboards, which over time makes a difference.

A mini MX that really delivers

I’ve absolutely loved the Logitech line of PC Accessories over the last 4 years. Their gaming keyboards are some of the best built, and the software often allows for customization of keys or lighting. The MX line is one of those premium lines of keyboards that I simply love using at the office and in my home office. I currently use the previously released MX keyboard as my daily Mac keyboard at home, and always wanted a smaller form factor for my office use. So I was excited to try out the MX Mini Compact Mechanical keyboard with my work MacBook at the office. In the box you’ll find the keyboard, a USB adapter if you don’t want to use bluetooth, and a USB C cord for charging the built in battery. The keyboard immediately entered pairing, with the ability to pair up to 3 devices to the hot keys in the function row. My Mac immediately identified the keyboard as an MX, and following the displayed prompts, I was ready to type away in a couple of minutes. The smaller form factor allow me to maximize desk space, while the mechanical keys feel like a merging of the MX and the TKL gaming keyboard that I love on my gaming PC. The keyboard feels premium, with an aluminum face, backlit keys (several brightness settings), and function keys that work flawlessly on my Mac. There is an LED light to confirm power and charging indication. The USB C port is near the power button, allowing you to charge the keyboard during use. I used a USB hub connected to my Mac (it’s powered), to charge the keyboard without any issues. The design choices for the function keys was really well thought out. Having a screenshot button (CMD+Shift+4), emoji, media keys, and even a dictation button. The backlight buttons can be used to go from low to bright settings (or off), and the clicking is loud enough to know you are typing, but not so loud that your desk mate will throw things at you. The palm/hand detection works well, with the backlight immediately turning on when it detects your hand over the keys, or when you start typing. The keys are responsive, the keyboard design really mates well with my Mac setup, and the battery lasts several days before warning you of a charge. Overall, this really does deliver on the MX experience. You’ll miss out on the 10 key, but you’ll gain useful function keys, a long lasting battery, easy to store in your bag to work on the go, and offers that satisfying typing experience with a quieter click.

    Perfect Mini Mechanical Keyboard

I've used Logitech keyboards and mice for years with my Apple and Windows set ups. For the past few years, my daily drivers have been a Craft Keyboard and a MX Vertical Mouse. When I heard that Logitech was coming out with a mechanical keyboard in 2 sizes and 3 flavors, I was ready. I've been wanting to switch to a mechanical keyboard for a while now, so this was the perfect chance. The MX Mini that I picked up was the tactile flavor. This keyboard comes in a full size and mini version. Having had a full size keyboard for years, I was really wanting to try out a mini version to have a more compact footprint on my desk. From an overall size perspective, it feels very similar to Apple's Magic Keyboard in terms of width and length, so I figured it would work great for me. I've been using this thing for about a week or so now and I have to say that I love typing on this. The keyboard feels good and sturdy. The keys are made of plastic, as is the bottom of the keyboard, while there's a metal top part to the case. The keys make a pleasing sound and typing just feels good. It was kind of funny, but the day that it arrived, I was looking for things to type because it just felt so different and better compared to typing on a chiclet style keyboard. Like most Logitech keyboards and mice, you can pair it using either Bluetooth or the new Logitech Bolt receiver. Just to be clear, this device DOES NOT WORK with the older Unifying Receivers. So if you have a device like the Craft or MX Vertical, you'll need to pair over Bluetooth or use 2 dongles. You can pair and set them up in the Bolt desktop app from Logitech or the Options+ desktop app. I actually also upgraded my MX Vertical Mouse to the new MX Master 3S mouse which also comes with a Bolt adapter, so I'm able to have both my work and personal iMac using Bolt adapters. I find the adapter pairing / connection to be more reliable with less latency vs Bluetooth. The MX Mechanical Mini can also connect to up to 3 different devices, one at a time. This is great because if you have multiple computers, you can essentially get by with only needing one keyboard. Using the F1 - F3 keys will let you toggle back and forth between which device you're connected with. Also, this new MX Mechanical Mini also works with Logitech's new Options+ software, not the older Options version. You can customize the top row of keys to do various things, the only change I made was to switch the Dictation key to invoke Mission Control on my Mac. This keyboard is great, it's got a good and solid build, great set of features, bells and whistles, and is just a joy to use.

    Exceeded Expectations

This keyboard exceeded my needs and expectations. It is a great keyboard if you are looking to access multiple computers/tablets with a single keyboard. Because its wireless and supports Bluetooth you avoid the cabling nightmares and the extra space required for dedicated keyboards. This has been a major hit at Lan parties because we can use a single keyboard to set up multiple pcs for gaming and because its uses Bluetooth we don’t lose USB ports that are needed for controllers. Note we don’t use the keyboard for in-game control. The keys are mechanical and they have a nice touch and response but I would recommend a Logitech gaming keyboard for any serious gaming. The keyboard feels solid and the mechanical tactile keys are smooth and reasonably quiet. Because it is a smaller keyboard it does take a little time to get used to. The key spacing and the location of some of the keys are slightly different than on a full-sized keyboard. If you are going to be doing a lot of typing or entering a lot of numbers and have some extra space I would recommend looking into the full size MX mechanical keyboard. I like the fact that this model is a “mini” so it doesn’t take up much room nor is it cumbersome to carry around. The keyboard can connect via the Logi Bolt USB receiver or via Bluetooth. I have been able to get it connected to my IPad Pro as well several different Windows pcs and laptops. There are three dedicated keys for switching between three connected devices and switching between devices worked without any issues. Even though it’s a mini keyboard you can still assign Function keys and it also has some media key support. The backlighting is “sensing” which means it comes on when your fingers are sensed on the keyboard. There aren’t any color options but there are several lighting modes to choose from. The lighting worked well for me and the lighting contrast on the keys made them much easier to see. You can change lighting modes by using the keyboard or via the Logi Options + software. The keyboard has an on/off switch so you can save battery life when it is not in use. The keyboard is charged via a USB-C cable which is provided. Logitech claims you can get up to 15 days of use on a single charge with the backlighting on. It also has a 15 minute quick charge that will get you through a day. My only complaint and it’s a small one is that there is no storage place for the Logi Bolt receiver when you aren’t using it. Because we use Bluetooth when we set up the laptops for gaming I don’t use the Bolt receiver and I am sure one of these days I will lose it.

The Almost Perfect Mini Mechanical Keyboard

Keyboards aren’t a big deal, right? Well I beg to differ, it’s the primary way we interact with our computers, so I think keyboards are a more important part of the user experience than most people realize and that’s why I’m always on the hunt for better ones. So of course I couldn’t pass up a chance to review this Logitech MX Mechanical Mini Keyboard with tactile quiet keys on my MacBook Pro. I’m liking the way this keyboard feels and so far don’t have any major complaints about it. Well, maybe just one that I’ll get into a little later. In order to keep this review brief, I’m just going to break down this review into a few categories that I feel are relevant when reviewing keyboards. Build Quality/Aesthetics: This is a pretty solid keyboard. I own several different types and brands of keyboards and the build quality of this one is on par with several of the expensive mechanical keyboards I own. You can tell right off the bat that this is built well with its aluminum finish and its hefty weight. The keys seem solid and have a weighty, well built feel to them as well. Logitech’s custom tactile quiet keys feel amazing, even with them being a low profile mechanical key. You can feel the tactile bump, but the sound isn’t nearly as loud as blue switch keyboards. This keyboard would be at home in a shared office setting and wouldn’t disturb any of your coworkers. Ease of Use: Connecting this is as simple as turning it on (after making sure you charge it with the USB-C cable) and waiting for it to come up in your Mac’s bluetooth menu. After pushing a confirmation code, you’re good to go. Charging it via the supplied USB-C cable will yield 15 days of usage with the backlight on or up to 10 months with it off. I wish the backlight didn’t affect the battery life so severely, but I don’t use it, so it’s a non-issue to me. If you do use the backlight, there are a few cool patterns and customizations you can make, either by using the function keys on the keyboard itself or the Logitech software that is downloadable for free on their website. You can also use the supplied Logi Bolt dongle if you so choose, but it has no distinct advantage over the bluetooth connection in my usage. It’s a little disappointing that the Logi Bolt connector is USB-A and does not come with any way to connect it to a USB-C only Macbook. Feel and Useability: The keys are raised, but still very low profile, which gives you a longer stroke than most keyboards with this slim of a profile. This is a pro for me and feels much more natural than other keyboards. This is entirely subjective though, as some people really like the keys on laptops and don’t have an issue with less keystroke travel. I find no discernable difference using these low profile mechanical keys vs full depth ones. The keys are just about perfect and I think you’ll really like typing on them. My only real complaint is the non-standard layout of the keyboard. My last compact Logitech keyboard had a normal key layout, but this one has a slightly different layout on the right side of the keyboard. Its half length shift key and additional keys on the end of the keyboard are a little difficult to get adjusted to after using a more standard layout. I’m still hitting the up arrow instead of shift and the page up key instead of enter key sometimes. I’m sure I'll adjust eventually, but I would rather have had these keys as alt-function keys of some type than messing with the standard layout of the keyboard. Overall I think this is a solid choice for someone looking for a compact, wireless mechanical keyboard. If you’re okay with the keyboard layout and the lack of a num pad, then I don’t think anyone would be disappointed with the MX Mechanical Mini keyboard from Logitech.

This is my second Logitech MX mini. This model is cross-platform for both Windows or MacOS, unlike my first model which forced me to choose specifically between Windows or MacOS. The keys have markings for both operating systems. This latest MX is slightly larger than the previous but not noticeably so unless measured. Most of the features are the same, including bluetooth/USB connectivity, proximity sensing backlighting, and custom shortcut keys. The proximity sensor is handy for dim light use. It causes the keys to light up when my hands approach the keyboard. The tactile quiet switches are quieter than typical tactile or clicky mechanical switches but still noticeably loud. The sound could be disruptive to others in the area unlike membrane keyboards which are almost silent if struck lightly. The low-profile keys have a nice responsive tactile feel to them that makes accurate keystrokes and mistake-free typing much easier. The TKL design lacks a number pad, so this isn’t a good option for accounting or other uses where a number pad is vital. It is an excellent option if lack of a number pad isn’t a dealbreaker and desktop space is at a premium as shown in my photo. I previously had a slim full-sized keyboard attached but there just wasn’t enough room even for that. Battery life is phenomenal. I get several days or longer of moderate to heavy use, even without powering off the keyboard during downtime. The keyboard also senses when the PC is powered off and goes into a low power mode. A USB-C to USB-A style charging cable is included. The MX also has a few F-key shortcuts for quick-launching non-standard but frequently used features like the emoticon menu. It feels sturdily built, works reliably for days on end between charges and has a really nice feel, especially for a compact keyboard. Very nice.

I was looking for a smaller, more tactile keyboard for my desktop setup. I picked up the Logitech MX Mechanical Mini keyboard to see if it would fit the bill. The QWERY portion of the keyboard is about the same size as a standard keyboard with some exceptions. First off, the number keys and the function keys do several commands that differ from a standard keyboard. This isn’t a huge deal and just takes some getting used to. There are a few other keys the share double duty like the windows key and the start short cut. Again, not a big deal that you can’t get used to over time. The keyboard itself is wireless and can connect with the included wireless bolt receiver or through Bluetooth. The Mini uses a rechargeable battery and has a charge span of upwards of 15 days of continuous use with the backlight on or 10 months of use without the back light. I have been using it for over a week with the backlight on and it still shows 100% on the Options + PC app. One very nice feature is the ability to customize keys to fit your typing styles or improve functionality. The Options + application from Logitech is used, once downloaded, to customize the Mini’s keys and is very straightforward to use. There you can configure your keyboard to your liking. The keyboard provides positive feedback while typing and the keys are spaced for comfort while using it. The backlit keys are great for use in dimly lit areas. I have been really impressed with the quality and response of this keyboard and recommend it for those who consider space a challenge and still want the feel of a full-size keyboard.

This is a great little keyboard, and perfect for pairing with multiple devices, especially if you use both an iPad and a desktop or laptop. The build quality is solid and while the keys aren’t exactly clicky, they’re still fairly good mechanical keys. (Unfortunately, you can’t use other switches if you wanted — these are built-in.) The size is also perfect for a backpack. (However, I do wish there was a protective sleeve for backpack packing.) I’ve been using full-size keyboard with a number pad for 30 years, so it has been a difficult adjustment to use this much narrower form factor. One thing I really miss is my old screenshot button, but there is a function key that I can remap. Ultimately, I may wind up returning this in exchange for the full-size version, or perhaps a keyboard with interchangeable switches mainly because I’m still struggling with the size adjustment (not Logitech’s fault) and I want the option of using other switches down the road (impossible to do with this keyboard).

Very compact design with great feeling keys. The keys are a lower profile than normal mechanical keyboards and the ten-keyless design is more compact without suffering the loss of useful function and arrow keys. The tactile keys don't sound any louder than other linear keyboards I have tried. I have had some experience with a ten-keyless design which integrated the function row keys and the arrow keys into the number row and punctuating keys. The loss of the function keys and the arrow keys I found to be too cumbersome. On those designs you have to rely on the keyboard software to get arrow keys, function keys, or even ctrl+alt+del to work properly. This keyboard keeps all these useful keys and brings them closer together. I have had no issues with the function keys, arrow keys, or windows key working properly, and I really like having them brought in closer together in a sensible manner. The far-right column with the end, home, pg-up and pg-down keys should be adopted in more compact designs. The backlighting is good to have in low light setups and the brightness can be controlled with keys on the keyboard or through a downloadable application. There are a few effects that can be cycled through although don't expect the options of other gaming style keyboards. The battery life is exceptional. With backlight on and low-moderate use (3-4 hrs/day average), the battery was at 20% at over a month of use. With backlight off the manual states that the device will last 15 months. The backlight will shut off at 10% power, which is supposed to allow for over 100 hours of use after 10%, although I have not had the chance to test this feature. The backlighting shuts off if the keyboard does not sense your fingers on the board. The board will shut off backlight when the PC is asleep or shutting down, although once or twice the backlight has stayed on after PC shutdown. I have used the device with the provided dongle for most use but have successfully paired it via Bluetooth to a Surface tablet very quickly. The keyboard can then change between paired devices using the F1 through F3 keys. One downside of the keyboard which is not stated on the box is that it does not transfer data when plugged in via USB cable. The cable is only used to charge the battery and the device can only be operated wirelessly via the dongle or Bluetooth. This seems like an odd loss of functionality if someone would like to quickly attach this keyboard to another PC without an open port or Bluetooth. As I don't necessarily expect to need this functionality, I didn't let it hurt the rating. Overall, the compact design and build quality was exactly what I wanted out of a TKL keyboard.

I almost didnt leave with this. It is still too expensive but i use this thing everyday over the other version of this keyboard. So far my typing has improved. It also makes me want to type more. Its not the most clicky but the button travel is good for me and i've seen an improvement in my typing speed. I dont know why but the bottom of my palm keeps resting on the lower keys forcing me to hit the cmnd key. Maybe thats user error more than anything. Another thing is it disconnects more than the other version on my mac. I dont know why it does that but it could be a mac thing. I dont have a problem on my pc. This thing for me more pros than cons. For me, this is solid. Just wish it was less expensive.

My daughter laughed at me when I sat down to type on this mini mechanical marvel… and, yes, she’s still laughing. I’m just an average typist and certainly not a speed demon, but I do love the old school ambiance of this keyboard. By old school, I am talking about the springy, clickity-clack feel and sound of this wireless Logitech that connects to your desktop or laptop via a tiny USB dongle or via Bluetooth. I think “mechanical” is a rather inexact term here. The use of any keyboard involves the mechanics of striking a switch with the tips of your fingers to complete a circuit. Use a modern laptop and you’ll hear little noise and feel little play in the keys. Use this keyboard and feel the deeper springy key travel and hear the satisfying rattle of each key movement. It’s like the difference in driving between a manual and an automatic transmission. Some will argue that you haven’t really had a true driving experience with an automatic, and I think the analogy works between types of keyboards as well. Both get the job done, but the one you want to use is a matter of taste and personal choice. This Logitech is modern in look and designed for utility. It has no number pad like the original Logitech MX, and it is somewhat lighter because it is smaller. It is still weighted enough to stay still on the desktop while you use it. The color of the keys is gray and the LEDs that light them are white- all very businesslike. I very much enjoyed using this keyboard. One thing you will have to consider is where you are going to use it. Most office environments will be fine. I am typing this review in the middle of the night at home and did not want to wake my wife while typing, so I am using my laptop. Later this morning, I’m going back to the MX Mechanical Mini. It’s an acquired taste, but it’s addictive.

The Logitech MX Mechanical mini wireless keyboard is pretty fantastic. It has the options to connect via Bluetooth or using a Logi Bolt which would go into your computer's USB slot. There is an on/off switch and it allows you to be paired to three devices simultaneously, including an iPad! It also allows you to switch between those devices very easily. The backlit keyboard is very nice for working in the dark. The mini version may not be the best for productivity if you're working from home and need to have a full keyboard for working with numbers. It is also very clicky and noisy, but Logitech does seem to offer variations that are more quiet and tactile. The options on this keybvoard make easier than ever to use. It is easy to customize the keyboard and check battery life. Overall, with how easy it is to pair and that you can switch between devices easily with a push of a button, and it has a very long battery life- this keyboard makes working from home so much easier and brings a fluid workflow.

I purchased this board as an alternative to the g915 tkl in order to take advantage of the productivity features that logitech options offered over their gaming line. I was pleasantly surprised that the keys are much more stable, the build quality was much more solid, and battery life was magnitudes better.

Great Keyboard. I regularly use a Corsair k100 Air and this keyboard comes in as a close second with a far cheaper price point and way smaller to boot. The typing experience is, in my opinion, quite nice. The sound is satisfying and if you have a heavy type, it can be quite loud, but if you are a softer typer and do not work too closely with others, I imagine this keyboard would do just fine. If you work in a cubicle or somewhere with a large open office, it would probably be annoying to some even with the tactile brown switches.

From the solid but silent action of the tactile keys to the smooth backlighting and creature comforts like USB-C, this keyboard checked all the right boxes for me. I thought it seemed a bit high on price for what it was, but after owning it for a few weeks, I am exceptionally happy with it. The other small bonus is that it's compatible with the rest of the Logi Bolt / MX Master family, so connectivity is super simple, undemanding of USB ports, and reliable as usual.

I was super curious about this keyboard when it was announced. I'm a huge logitech fan and I love mechanical keyboards. I've daily driven this keyboard for the last few months and I really enjoy it. I got the version with the brown switches and it has a satisfying feel and sound when typing. Thanks to its size, I've been bringing this between my home and work offices. Also USB-C charging is highly appreciated and wish that they would incorporate this in their gaming keyboards. It's up there in price, but for quick bluetooth connection (up to 3 devices) and the quality of keyboard, It's absolutely worth it.

If you’re looking for a small keyboard, I highly recommend this. It’s the perfect size, and the price is definitely worth the quality. It’s a little heavier than most keyboards (but nothing crazy) it lights up only when you’re typing, and is chargeable (so no more batteries). It’s also very high tech looking. Just be aware that it doesn’t have a key pad on the side, only numbers along the top. If you prefer this this may not be the product for you, but I personally don’t mind it.
