Customers frequently mention the WONDERBOOM 3's amazing sound quality, portability, and impressive battery life as significant strengths. Many also appreciate its waterproof design and compact size, finding it ideal for both indoor and outdoor use. The speaker's volume and bass response also receive positive feedback. UE's latest WonderBoom includes all of the same features of the previous generation and adds additional battery life.
The UE WonderBoom 3 comes with a built in non-datachable band, a Micro USB cable for charging, and the speaker itself. The UE WonderBoom 3 is built to stand the elements of your small party or gathering where you are willing to take it. Having an IP67 rating, it is able to withstand dust, water splashes, being submerged in water up to a little over 3 feet (1 meter), and even floats on water. Being made of hard plastic around its edges and a nylon type material surrounding the internal speakers, it can also withstand drops from 5ft (although I dont recommend you do so). On top of that, UE rates the battery lasting for 14 hours.
Being a small and compact speaker, it fits in the palm of my hand and packs a decent amount of audio in such a small package. I was surprised at how loud it was for it's size and can see how it is perfect for small parties at a park, cookout, or around a pool. () Compared to other smaller speakers I've owned and used in the past, the WonderBoom 3 produces audio from 360 degrees and wherever it is left, you will be able to hear the audio from all sides of it. On the bottom of the speaker there is a button to enable an Outdoor Boost mode. From my experience, this makes it sound like the audio was given a small boost and vocals in music sound slightly clearer. Another neat feature is the ability to add a second WonderBoom 3 and play audio from both, simultaneously.
While this speaker is relatively loud for its size, I found the audio quality lacking in some aspects. Mids and highs were a tinge on the tinny side and slightly muffled. Lows were decent and more pronounced as compared to the higher frequencies. If you were looking to adjust the EQ levels, you would have to do it from the device you're playing audio from, as the WonderBoom doesn't offer any EQ adjustment settings. While audio lacks the details mentioned above, altogether the audio sounds good and is what you would expect from a small speaker.
Additional hardware downsides I found include no aux support and the fact it still uses Micro USB versus the new USB C standard.
Overall, I enjoyed using the WonderBoom 3 and recommend it to anyone looking for a compact speaker that can get loud and also can withstand the outdoor elements.

For something that is a bit bigger than a softball, this thing puts out some sound. Compact enough to take with you just about anywhere and waterproof to boot. From just listening around the house to the beach, this thing can handle it and keep up with the amount of time you may be out there with 14 hours of battery life, depending on usage. I even tested out its claim of floating and even trying to sink it, it comes right back up. You might have to shake some water out of it to get the sound back to normal. But, it never stopped playing. Connect it just like any other Bluetooth device and off you go. The built in elastic band seems pretty tough to handle most hooks or even a handlebar on a bike, but it doesn’t stretch far enough to get around more than the end, so you may want a carabiner or something to clip to bigger areas. The environment button on the bottom makes a huge difference in sound, dropping bass for more highs. However, outside that makes it travel further and you really don’t notice unless you are up close to it. The volume buttons can’t be missed, but for as big as they are, they adjust the volume pretty slowly, which is fine for small adjustments, but when you want to turn the volume down quick, best to use the connected device itself.
Overall, I am really shocked at how loud, clear and rugged this Wonderboom 3 is. It will be going many places with me.

I recently had the pleasure of experiencing the Ultimate Ears - WONDERBOOM 3 Portable, and it has completely blown me away! This compact and powerful Bluetooth speaker has become an absolute game-changer in my musical adventures.
First and foremost, the sound quality delivered by the WONDERBOOM 3 is phenomenal. Despite its small size, this little speaker packs a punch with rich, clear, and immersive audio. The bass response is surprisingly deep, and the overall sound profile is well-balanced, allowing me to enjoy my favorite tracks with every nuance and detail.
The portability factor is where the WONDERBOOM 3 truly shines. It's compact, lightweight, and built like a tank, making it the perfect companion for all my outdoor activities. Whether I'm lounging by the pool, hiking in the mountains, or having a picnic in the park, this speaker delivers an impressive 360-degree sound that fills the entire space effortlessly.
One of the standout features of the WONDERBOOM 3 is its durability. It's waterproof and dustproof, ensuring that I never have to worry about accidental spills or unexpected weather conditions. I can confidently take it with me on all my adventures, knowing that it can withstand whatever comes its way.
Setting up and connecting the WONDERBOOM 3 to my devices is a breeze. The Bluetooth pairing process is quick and seamless, and the speaker maintains a strong connection without any dropouts. I appreciate the extended wireless range, allowing me to move around without having to keep my device close by.
Battery life is another area where the WONDERBOOM 3 excels. It provides up to 13 hours of continuous playtime on a single charge, which is impressive for a portable speaker of this size. I no longer have to worry about the music stopping midway through a gathering or outing.
The design of the WONDERBOOM 3 is not only aesthetically pleasing but also functional. The vibrant color options add a fun and playful touch, and the top-mounted buttons are easy to locate and operate. I particularly love the hanging loop, which makes it convenient to attach the speaker to my backpack or bike.
Overall, the Ultimate Ears - WONDERBOOM 3 Portable has exceeded all my expectations. It's a powerful, portable, and durable speaker that delivers exceptional sound quality and is ready for any adventure. Whether you're a music lover, an outdoor enthusiast, or simply someone who enjoys great audio, the WONDERBOOM 3 is an excellent choice. The Wonderboom 3 is an excellent compact, go anywhere Bluetooth speaker. With light weight and handy size it is easy to tote around the yard or on a trip to the beach. Is it a powerhouse for rocking that rave or house party? Probably not, but it is quite nice with a few friends or just for yourself around the house or yard.
Very similar in overall look and feel to the previous gen model, the Wonderboom 3 has some small improvements to the build that seem like they were thought out rather than changes for the sake of changes. For example, the previous generation Wonderboom had a simple loop of cord to hang the speaker from something like a carabiner or a small hook/nail. The new model has a piece over the cord material to provide reinforcement and I can see how it would prevent the loop from becoming easily frayed, especially if you frequently put the speaker on and off a hanger. Another nice change was the size and feel of the physical buttons, which are much more prominent and have a more natural push to them. The fabric wrap around the body of the speaker is a little more raised and tactile, and I personally found this made holding the speaker in one hand easier is it was less likely to slip.
In terms of sound, I found it quite acceptable for such a small package. With the volume cranked up to max on my phone and the speaker it was capable of putting out an impressive amount of sound without distortion. I’m and no bass fanatic and prefer a good balance of lows and highs, but I personally thought that at very high volume the high end overwhelmed the bass a little bit, making the overall sound a bit thinner. At lower volumes, where I will almost always be using the speaker, the bass was enough to balance the sound just fine and the overall tone was much warmer. Clarity was never a problem at any volume. Sound projects fairly well around the speaker, but I would not go so far as to call it a true 360 degree projection. The sound seems to primarily emanate from the “back” of the speaker, the side opposite the plus/minus control buttons. This isn’t really too noticeable unless you are at a pretty low level and close to the speaker, but it will influence where I would place it in relation to other objects or structures. As of now I just have the one Wonderboom 3, but I am considering picking up a second that I can pair with the one I do have. When using two of these you can create a stereo pair rather than just linking multiple speakers playing both channels. Not always necessary, but still nice when you want it.
Connecting the speaker to my phone was a snap, and operation is extremely simple. There is a nice little quick start guide included with the speaker and it covers all the basics of operation quite well. It would have been a plus if this speaker cam with a USB-C or fast charge option, but it comes with just a small micro USB, and it felt like it did take a while to reach full charge out of box. That said, battery life seems to be excellent, and I have been using it on and off for days and it still has significant life. I tend to run it at what I would say is about 50% volume so mileage may vary at higher or lower settings.
This sucker FLOATS! To test the claim that this speaker is safe to use around or even in the water I went ahead and dropped it in the pool while playing. 30 minutes later it was still playing just fine. No water made it past the charging port cover, but a lot seemed to get trapped by the porous fabric cover. I would be concerned about the amount of water the cover seemed to hold causing damage if the speaker gets repeatedly or consistently wet. Still, if you place it on the edge of the pool to play music and someone knocks it in, it won’t be ruined as long as the charging port cover is secured in place.
I rate this speaker as 5 stars in its category as protected from the elements and highly portable for music on the go.

360 degrees of great sound.
Sound does come out of I from all the way around the unit. The tweeter is located only in 1 spot. This little speaker cranks out high volume for a small speaker.
Setup was a snap. It paired with my phone without a hitch. Sound is nice. Nice deep base and good highs for a small speaker..
Size is good compact. Super simple operation. On off. Loud button. Pair button. Color is nice. Black and simple design.
Charging was easy. Uses micro USB. I wished it was USBc.
Hours of operation for battery life is good. It lasted all work day for me. 10 hours and still good. And Did not die.
The fact that it is water proof and it FLOATS..... Great to take out in the ocean on a stand up paddle and not be scared to drop in the ocean. I do wish that the little holder was a little bit bigger or had a D ring or something that was a little bit longer to be able to latch on to a water sport device or something.
For these reasons I would recommend this product.

I was quite surprised at the size of this unit when I got it, it's much smaller than you might expect at about the size of a 4in cube! That said, the sound it puts out does not disappoint. Controls are a bit confusing as the single top button can supposedly be used to play, pause, fast-forward, and rewind the source; however I only ever got it to play/pause so I was probably using it wrong.
It paired easily to both my PC and my Phone and played music without issue. "Hidden" on the bottom of the unit is "outdoor mode" which, frankly, simply cranks the treble of the music. It does get a *bit* louder but not by much.
The thing that impressed me the most was its waterproofness! I actually tested this out as I wanted to see if it hurt the sound at all. Remarkably, the designers thought this through and the unit is weighted in such a way that the speaker faces out of the water when it's floating - brilliant!.
The weight of the unit is great, it has great battery life and is easy to charge with any existing micro USB connection - I wish they'd have chosen USB-C here but no real big deal as it comes with its own cable.

Be a fan... that's what I am going to say. I've had Bluetooth speakers since I think speakers started featuring Bluetooth and I am always searching for the right one for the right scenario. I have the Wonderboom 2, so it was an easy decision to also have the Wonderboom 3 join the family. ESPECIALLY since you can pair the two by linking them (imagine surround sound but outside at a family gathering or watching a movie while camping and creating speaker system to wow your friends).
Wonderboom 3 doesn't disappoint with it's very long lasting battery life, charging could take a bit longer, and boy do I wish they would upgrade the charging port to USB-C. Anyhow, it isn't a big issue and after a full-charge you have hours and hours of music, or sound.
The features the word boom and boy does it have bass for such a small speaker. I often use the Wonderboom for traveling. I have been to so many hotels and no matter how comfortable the bed sheets, or accommodations, the walls still seem pretty thin. I love playing white noise sounds to sleep and Wonderboom fills the rooms I stay in with the perfect pitch and sound that I need. I wish there was a way to record and allow you to hear what I hear because I am very pleased with my Wonderboom. I love their family of products and dream about the day I get to upgrade for the larger speaker in the their line of speakers.
This is also an ideal speaker for the college student dorm-life or apartment life. It's easy to manage, very durable, and water proof.
I have taken my Wonderboom on tubing trips on the river and I use a carabiner to secure it to my tube. By the end of the first hour I have a group of people near or around my group because the music coming from the Wonderboom is that crisp and full of sound.
No matter the genre, the movie type, or sound... you'll be pleasantly satisfied with the Wonderboom 3. Oh and give that outdoor boost a try, I love waiting a bit to turn that feature on to get people talking, or to stop talking if they are too loud I tap the button and the sound becomes even fuller. Oh and I’m glad this one was built using recycled material, lots of companies are doing this and it feels good.

I bought this mainly I could listen to podcasts and news from my phone while working in the garage without needing earbuds. From that standpoint it works great, since the volume is much higher than my phone. It's base-y, good for music but actually makes some voices a hair garbled sounding sometimes.
It's ok for music. It seems to have good sound quality to my untrained ear. You're just limited that all the music is emanating from the same location.
It does float as advertised. Battery life is good. Overall it's exactly what I was looking for.
We appreciate your feedback on the Ultimate Ears WONDERBOOM 3. It's great to hear that it's been a valuable tool for listening to podcasts and news while working in the garage. We understand your observations about the sound quality and limitations of a single-point speaker.

Great portable "360 sound" waterproof speaker

Fun little rugged waterproof speaker. Good size for clipping to a backpack, bike basket, or a SUP.
Sound is very good for a small speaker. Granted you are not going to get a ton of bass in this size, but it sounds great for its portable and rugged purpose.
I love the round "360 sound" that projects in every direction. We attached it to my wife's rear bike basket and both she and I could hear it great with me pedaling behind her (something this speaker does way better than the mono-directional speaker I had on my bike).
It is definitely rugged, waterproof, and FLOATS! (see pics) It's now also our hot tub go to speaker and sounds even better bouncing the sound off our back lid.
While it doesn't sound spectacular while actually floating in the water, I envision this being perfect to clip to the deck of our SUP or use in a kayak and no worries to recover it if it comes loose because it floats.
It has an outdoor "boost" option/switch at the bottom, but I liked how it sounded much better without that option enabled. Still was plenty loud!

I really like the long lasting battery life. I've been playing this speaker here and there for the past week and the battery still going. The loud bass and clear speakers are the best I've heard within this price range. The minimal and small speaker is great for any occasion. I took it in my small backpack and it didn't took a whole lot of space.

When I first heard about the Wonderboom 3 Waterproof, Dustproof, Bluetooth speaker by Ultimate Ears, which is a subsidiary of Logitech, as a Quality professional, I was impressed by it being rated to the internationally recognized IP67 standard for high level of protection of its inner workings from water or dust damage. That is impressive and takes very good design engineering and manufacturing quality control to sustain.
I was also impressed that Ultimate Ears had endeavored to produce this speaker with a minimum of 31% post-consumer recycled plastic and then succeeded in getting certified for this by SCS Global Services, a renowned international leader in third-party certification, validation, and verification for environmental, sustainability, and food safety and quality performance. Equally impressive is the company’s usage of sustainable packaging and certification by FSC, whose certification ensures that products come from responsibly managed forests that provide environmental, social and economic benefits. As an Environmentalist, I find companies with such practices as these are to be lauded. I wish more would organizations would follow Ultimate Ears’ example and place Environmental sustainability in their Mission Statement, objectives and practices.
So, I was excited when the Wonderboom 3 arrived. I removed the small, sturdy speaker from its box and used the included USB charging cable to plug it into my laptop to charge, while I worked at home. I found the Wonderboom design to be handsome, but fun.
It took a couple of hours for the charging light to stop blinking. Since it was a chilly workday, I wasn’t ready to go test it outside. So, I paired it to my computer by Bluetooth. After being startled by the loud, strange sound that the Wonderboom made at pairing, I played music videos of a band I was going to see later in the week. The sound was rich, crisp and clear with very good 360-degree sound and good bass. It was a joy listening to this band through the Wonderboom 3.
I switched to a streaming show and was impressed by the clarity of the dialog and the fullness of the background music and sound effects. Amazing for such a small, portable, wireless speaker. Very impressive.
Though I probably would never turn the volume up high, I tried the Outdoor Boost feature. It did as it was advertised and boosted the speaker’s loudness, but I did notice a slight loss of bass. The sound did remain clear and could be made out from the far end of the adjoining room.
So, of course, I had to test out the Wonderboom’s waterproof properties. Since I didn’t have a pool, lake or ocean to test it out in, I used my kitchen sink. I filled the sink with water, made sure the seal over the Wonderboom’s USB charging port was secure and dropped the active speaker into the water while playing one of my favorite songs. It happily floated around the sink while not missing a beat. I swished the water around and rolled the Wonderboom around and left it sit in the sink playing for over a half hour. No leakage and good sound! I was tempted to take it in the whirlpool bathtub with me. It definitely would work. I may do that.
Now, I am debating whether to get a second Wonderboom 3, so that I can set both speakers up for stereo sound. If one Wonderboom 3 can sound as good as it does, then two in stereo would be awesome!
I would definitely suggest the Wonderboom 3 to my friends and family.

I needed a small cordless mini-speaker to replace the Insignia bluetooth speaker that was stolen from my car along with all my yoga gear. As a yoga teacher, I need a speaker with good tone that can be heard across the room at a low volume. The salesman warned me that the bass wasn't strong but I don't need that for a serene, relaxing ambiance. Turns out, this speaker is 360 degrees. I can place it in the center of the room on the floor for relaxation and meditatiion. The sound is great. It's easy to set up and automatically connects with my iPhone.

I recently purchased this speaker (within the past 2 weeks or so) and have had a chance to get quite a bit of use out of it. I bought it on discount near the holidays and am overall very satisfied with my purchase, however I would encourage waiting for sales as you may find a better value buy at a lower price point throughout the year. It is very user friendly and easy to set up. Its a great speaker, but lacks depth in the bass. Its fairly light and easy to transport, but it does not easily fit into the water bottle holder on my backpack (not a big deal but something to consider). I love that you can pair these! They get crazy loud for their size. I had one of these in the living room at about 75% volume and could clearly hear my music throughout the entire house (2,000 sq ft). If you are looking for easily transportable speaker, with great clarity, this could be a great fit for you. I would and have already recommended this speaker to a friend. After they listened to mine, they added one to their Christmas list.

Great overall sound. Definitely LOUD with plenty of punch in bass for what it is up to like 80% volume then starts to clip off afterwards(at least with my unit). I use this speaker at work and it’s been taking the beatings pretty well and lasts pretty much my whole day at work. I have not tested it’s battery life but it’s definitely playing for a little over 6 hours. I should’ve gotten the pair since it would’ve been AWESOME to have this as a “surround sound” while working on big projects bit it handles pretty well on its own. It’s normally attached on my climbing harness and it gets banged around quite a lot. It’s the second unit that I have. The other one lasted about a little over two years and it failed only because the retention spring on the carabiner that was attached to the speaker failed and it slipped out and fell about 350ft. The speaker still works but it’s shell broke lol. I still have it in my room as a decorative piece.

This is my third edition to our setup, which definitely helps from having to share.
The sound output is great and indoors can definitely fill a room and outside by the pool is super convenient and no worries about it getting wet…it really does float!
Only 2 Booms can be linked, but it is still a pretty cool feature.
Battery life: I cannot comment on hitting 14 hours, I definitely don’t use it that long at one use, but I can definitely use it for hours at a time on different occasions and it lasts each time I need it too. After the third use is typically when I will charge. Charging time is quite slow, there is no fast charge capability, so give yourself at least 2 hours to reach top charge if you're planning on being out and using it extensively for the day. Also, the included charger cable is the best one to use. I’ve tried in the past using my included phone cable and the port cut out dimensions are pretty tight; the included cable fits, unfortunately it is a little short, so charger on a countertop with a close outlet. The cable does fit the cut-out perfectly, I don’t know if it offers any IP rating still, but considering how deep the charge port is, the design of the cable will definitely make it difficult for any dust or liquid to get to the charging port using the supplied cable.
Charging Cable: UE is still using a Micro-USB port and not a USB-C. For me having multiple Boom’s, this is definitely helpful, but if you're just buying one, you’ll definitely need to keep that cable handy.
I can easily recommend this speaker. Pairing with my Galaxy Note 20 was super easy and these speakers have always been super quick to connect.
I can easily recommend this speaker. I docked 1 Star because by now, UE should have some sort of faster charging capability, but seeing as they are sticking with Micro-USB therein lies the charging limitations.
