Slim design fits well on a small counter top. Removable reservoir is convenient & easy to fill water. Brews well on both regular & rich settings. Also the carafe pours good if you go slow.

Easy to use. Like the removable water tank for easy cleaning. Unfortunately, the warm plate scratched within the first 2 weeks. Something you might expect after a year of use. That was disappointing.

Just under a year and the ring around the glass portion of the carafe has started to leak and pours all over the counter when trying to make a cup of coffee. Now I have to buy a new coffee maker. For $80 it should’ve lasted more than a year.

My husband is the coffee drinker in the house. He has been using a K-cup machine and trying myriads of different coffees seeking to find one that tastes close to the coffee his Mom used to make at home. He has not been succeeding at it, so, when the Ninja Programmable XL 14-Cup Coffee Maker Pro arrived, he jumped to go buy some “real” coffee to try in it. Granted, with only one coffee drinker in the house, a 14-Cup coffee maker is overkill, unless lots of company come to visit. Even so, the programmable machine does have the program to make two to four cups for those days without company. So, we read the directions. We washed and rinsed all the removeable components with dish soap and hot water before first use. We then filled the removeable water reservoir up to the 14-cup mark with cool water and ran it through a classic brew as the setup cleaning cycle, per the instructions. We discarded the cleaning water from the glass carafe into the sink, rinsed it, replaced the carafe onto the machine’s heating pad with its top in the locked position. Then, we filled the water reservoir to the desired 2-cup line. Following the table in the instruction booklet, one level scoop of medium ground coffee is supposed to make 2-cups of coffee in the coffee maker. We measured a level scoopful of coffee and poured it into the permanent filter (you can use a paper filter instead). Since it was evening, we set the clock on the machine and then easily set the programmable timer to 6:15am, when we both would be up to start the day. We placed the settings on ‘1-4 Cup’, ‘Classic’, and ‘Delay’ and left the coffee maker until the next morning. At 6:15am, the Ninja started to brew right on time. We watched and waited as the coffee dispensed into the glass carafe and then finished its brewing. Then, we poured the contents into a 10 oz mug. We were surprised and confused that the 2-cup brewing did not even fill the one 10 oz mug! There was perhaps 6 ounces in the mug! Chagrined, we decided to try it for 4 cups. We replaced the locked carafe and filled the water reservoir to the 4-cup line with cool water, we emptied the grounds from the permanent filter, rinsed and refilled it with the required 2 level scoops of coffee for 4 cups. Again, we placed the button settings on the ‘1-4 Cup’ and ‘Classic’ style brew and then pushed the ‘Brew / Off’ button. Immediately, the Ninja started the brew. After a couple of minutes, the brew was completed. We poured the brewed coffee into a mug. Yeah! We got a whole mugful with some left over. We got out another mug and the contents did not quite fill it. So much for 4 cups! Where did the extra water go? We have no idea! Anyway, we didn’t try it again that day. I waited for my sister and brother-in-law to come over on the weekend. They are big coffee drinkers. I let my sister read the directions and set it up for 10 cups of coffee. She didn’t do anything differently than I did, other than not push the ‘1-4 Cup’ button. We definitely got a nearly full carafe on this brew. We didn’t get as scientific as the first two tries, but felt that there was a sufficient amount of coffee in the carafe. And, they were very pleased with the taste. They really liked the handsome, modern looks and small footprint of the Ninja coffee maker. They liked the fact that it was programmable. The only room for improvement that they suggested was that the printing on the functional button faces were difficult for us older people to read and perhaps should be in a bolder font style. So, my take away from these trials is that one should use this Ninja Programmable XL 14-Cup Coffee Maker Pro for much more than 1 to 4 Cups of Coffee. If you need to make small amounts, then I think a smaller machine is better for you. But, if you are someone that needs a large of amount of coffee throughout the day, then this machine is great for your needs and the warming pad will keep your coffee ready for pouring.

Up front it doesn’t take much for me to give a positive review for a coffee maker since all I really need is a machine that turns water and coffee grounds into hot coffee in the morning with minimal effort. That being said, some of the bells and whistles present on the Ninja Coffee Maker really impressed me with what a coffee machine could be (I’ll be ditching my $19.99 grocery store machine I bought a decade ago when I moved into my place). I don’t know what your kitchen looks like or what esthetique you’re aiming for but to me this machine is sleek and cool looking. It's slimmer than my existing coffee machine, features a removable water reservoir on the back, lots of silver with more than a little black as accents. Button panel is simple and easy to read/understand, not like there’s a lot to get technical about on a coffee machine but it's still nice to have nothing but the basics at 4am on a Monday work day. Dimensions are approximately 10 x 8 x 14.25, so it's tight under my cabinet but not impossible to get the reservoir off and on again. It holds 14 cups of coffee so more than I’ll ever need but I could see this being a great machine for a book club or other social meeting space. Back to those bells and whistles I was talking about! The machine has a button to set how long the warming plate stays on and how hot it stays (High, Med, or Low so not super incremental) for up to 4 hours. That longer warming is super useful for instances where you decide to sleep in, such as I did during my review period (too many late nights!). You can also see how long the coffee has been ready, there’s a counter that begins after the brew finishes. You can also decide if you want a classic brew or a rich brew, which controls the brew strength, although I’m unsure if its the temperature or what that it alters and honestly once I add Vanilla creamer I didn't notice a difference between the two. It's also listed as using a hotter than typical water and a wider distribution shower to make better tasting coffee, which I can verify the shower is wider but not sure how much hotter than normal the coffee is. It was plenty hot for me even after pouring refrigerated creamer, where my old maker was just above warm after cream, so if you’re into piping hot coffee then you’ll love this machine. The lid of the reservoir features a Ninja Scoop with a diagram that for every two cups of coffee you need one scoop of grounds. It is a handy tool especially with a slot in the lid although it is really hard to get it out as it rests flush into the lid and requires pulling and prying to get out. Finally, it utilizes a permanent filter so you don’t need to deal with paper filters that sometimes fold or sit funny and let grounds into the pot. Everything is machine washable, although the basket and filter are listed as being top shelf only which makes more sense than bottom rack anyway. So overall this is a great coffee maker if you’re just looking for basic brewed coffee with a few extra creature comforts in the process. I really love how easy to program this was and that ability to delay the shut off for an extra couple hours in case I sleep in. The huge size is great for entertaining (not that I do) while the machine overall is mostly compact on the counter. It looks good, the coffee is hot, and cleaning up is a breeze. What isn’t there to love about this machine?

Not properly packed when shipped and item got damaged in delivery. Labels were slapped on the coffee maker box and shipped just like that with no protection. Do not purchase from here as it will ship in it original box. Mine showed up torn and looked like it was hit by the truck. Coffee maker, which was a gift to my coffee addicted parents, was damaged.

I've only been using it for maybe two weeks now, but so far, so good. Really pleased with the setup and the coffee. Sleeker profile than the Cuisinart it replaced.

I have been using my Ninja CE201 for five years until I decided to retire it and go with a newer model. My first impression is this Ninja XL 14 cups pro has an entirely different design than its predecessors. I still like the older version for having the control panel on the bottom right side. However, I got used to it after two days of using it. I love the Ninja's simplicity of use; the coffee maker has a removable water reservoir, so there is no pouring mess. In addition, easy to clean as well as no water filter is needed. After I unboxed and wiped it off, the coffee maker was sitting on the counter, surprisingly compact and not taking up much space compared to its predecessors. Lifting and holding the water reservoir is more secure, and water level measurement is printed on both sides of the tank for easy reading. After filling the tank, I immediately pushed the clean button, and the cleaning cycle began. After 15 minutes, the cleaning cycle has been completed. I set the clock, put my favorite coffee, and then push and hold warm to adjust the warming duration. I love that the warming duration is adjustable. The default is 2 hours and can be adjusted to 3 or 4 hours. I changed mine to 4, so I can have my coffee always warm when I need it. Honestly, the temp is precise, and even after 2 hours, the coffee was hot just like it was freshly brewed. The scoop is stored nicely on the lid of the reservoir. The delay option worked tremendously, and my morning coffee was ready for me at the time I had chosen. The refreshing timer option is fantastic as it lets me know how long my coffee has been brewed and warmed. The digital display is well visible at night. The only difference I noticed between my old coffee maker and this model is the weight. I feel the weight has been downgraded because when I put the carafe back, the machine slides around a bit, which I did not like. Great coffee maker. No regret; instead, Ninja products consistently exceed my expectations and do their purpose.

The unit does come with a mesh reusable coffee filter making the need to buy disposable filters one less thing you need to worry about. The unit is very basic in design and function which should make ease of use for most people. This unit offers the bare necessities to get you started including, on/off brew button, classic/rich brews, clean function, warm button\ and your programmable button which allows you to set up brew times. The function is as basic as it gets and should really require no further instructions on how to use. The classic/rich button allows you to determine how strong you want your coffee brewed in the morning and whenever you chose to make your coffee. The classic function allows for a smoother blend giving it a more watered down taste and also reduces the caffeine content as well. This allows for a better taste for those with a more sensitive pallet. The rich brew obviously offers a more pronounced taste with a higher caffeine output for those looking for a little extra kick. I will say there is a noticeable difference between the two brews. On the classic feature it seemed as though my caffeine was not hitting me as hard which made me have the need to grab multiple cups of coffee. The taste also came off a little bit more bland. Switching over to the rich flavor was definitely more for me as the coffee regained more of its flavor and the caffeine output was also more noticeable allowing me to start my day with just a single cup. The mesh filter does a awesome job at filtering out all the coffee grains and not once did any of the grains make it in to my brew. As someone who uses a K-Cup getting coffee grains in your drink is annoying and in my opinion i feel it takes away a bit from the flavor. Moving over to the traditional set up the Ninja has provided with this machine means you can get back to the basics of coffee brewing which will offer you a more flavorful and grain free taste. Cleaning of the mesh filter is very easy and is done in a matter of seconds. The unit does offer a self cleaning set up which is very easily done by filling the tank with clean water or your favorite non-toxic cleaner then simply press the clean button and let the unit do the rest. The provided Ninja pot also has a unique set up that allows for clean pouring which prevents the coffee from running down the sides or bottom allowing for less mess to clean up. As a matter of fact as simple as it sounds the pour from the coffee pot was actually one of the first things that stood out to me. It was very clean and smooth and never once made a single mess. Even when tipped almost completely vertical the pour always stayed about the same. All in all that's really about it. This maker really is that simplistic but that doesn't mean its a bad thing. At the price point this unit comes in at it really is a no brainer and should be a easy buy as Ninja is known for making good products. As someone who owns quite a bit of their products i can say first hand that their products are built to last. If your are a avid coffee lover then this simple design is sure to please just about most people out there.

I am well pleased with this product. It is very easy to use and very easy to maintain. The canister in back comes off to fill and to clean. The permanent filter is a plus also you just empty and rise clean or you can still use a paper filter if desired. My coffee has been brewed to my liking. You can set it for up to 4 cups or as many as 12. Four is my perfect setting. A scoop is always handy as there is a place to store it right on the water canister top. Well worth it's money to my opinion.
