I set up the water and measured the grinds the night before. I can either have the pot ready when I come down for breakfast or push the start brew button. Both are fast and convenient.
Surprisingly the gold mesh filter did a great job. I am used to paper filters, so this was a pleasant surprise. I really like filling the decanter at the sink with my filtered water spout and not having to pour it into the unit. Just park the tank back on the back. The Ninja sits a tad taller then my old unit and is only an issue when I add or remove the grind basket. The backet and filter media is great. A nice big handle to keep from burning my fingers. So easy.
The black water tank cover has a measuring cup built in which stores the scoop when not in use. Setting the time and brew settings couldn't be easier. Special buttons clearly labeled for less than 4-cups when a smaller pot is needed. The warming plate timer is programmable too. Perfect since I never stay home longer than two hours after breakfast.
Its nice that the lid is secured to the large 14-cup pot but with a twist it comes off. My large hands can then scourer out the pot for cleaning. Back to the lid, it has a special long tube that keeps the coffee from splashing all over the place. The handle allows for a firm grip when pouring.
Brushed stainless steel looks sharp on the counter. I like my coffee strong and this didn't disapoint.

Ninja high class programmable coffee maker

Beautiful, very well made and well designed. Every part of the coffee maker screams high class.
Carafe has locking lid, all the seams line up perfectly, top cover shut well where no steam is escaped are some examples.
It includes a reusable coffee ground filter and you can also use paper filter.
It has 2 brew setting, classic and rich. Coffee is stronger if you choose rich.
I like it that it has removable water tank, no longer need to carry the whole coffee maker to the sink to fill water. So well thought and convenience.
It has big shower head that dispense hot water onto the coffee ground, this does make sure all coffee ground get used. No more waste.
After brewing completes, it will start the freshness timer. You can press the button to see how long ago the coffee was made.
The coffee maker also has a built in cleaning cycle, just add cleaning solution into the water tank and press the Clean button.
Coffee brewed by this coffee maker is very good, full body and at the best temperature for me.

Perfect Everyday Coffee Machine!

My new favorite drip brew system! With an attractive look and slim footprint this system is a great replacement for my old coffee maker. Programming is simple and includes 2 flavor settings – Classic or Rich. Classic produces a smooth and delicious brew, while Rich creates a bold stronger flavor. The 24 hour programable feature will make sure you can wake up every day with delicious cup first thing in the morning.
The design is solid and features a removable brew basket and permanent filter. The removable water reservoir is convenient and easy to fill and clean. The capacity fits a large 70 ounces, or about 14 cups, more than enough for a solid lazy morning. Brew time is quick and the 4 hour keep warm function does a great job or keeping coffee at the perfect temperature.
The build quality is high as should be expected from Ninja. No surprises there. The control panel is functional and it’s the perfect everyday coffee machine. No gimmicks, no hard to clean designs, just quality coffee.

Makes coffee, improves life

I am a bit of a coffee snob, not so much that I roast my own beans, but I do like to freshly grind a quality dark roast every night, and wake up to the smell of success brewing each morning.
The Ninja XL Pro coffee maker has enabled me to continue on with this tradition of having freshly brewed coffee each morning at my predetermined time with no issues. To do this, I firmly believe that Ninja studied kitchen ergonomics, design, and maybe even a bit of feng shui to make this coffee maker with the smallest footprint possible, while still getting 14 cups of brew per sitting. The design is top notch, with an easy to fill 14 cup reservoir that detaches for filling and securely slides into position without leaking. The top plate of the reservoir has a built in scoop holder, an added perk is the holder is ambidextrous so I can easily use it as a lefty. The brew basket is perfect for medium coarseness blend, and the water distributes evenly to get all of the grounds wet, not just the middle.
Moving down to the carafe, I really do love this locking lid. No matter the angle I pour from, my coffee will only pour at a maximum flow. This means when one of my teens runs me over trying to not be late for school, or when the cat intentionally walks between my legs, I'm not going to accidentally pour coffee all over myself or the floor. The downside is that if you're used to leaving the carafe on the coffee maker to dry, it doesn't. You have to rotate the lid to unlock, and let it dry fully before replacing the lid.
As for functionality, the front controls include a clock, hour / minute buttons, programmable delay, small batch (1 - 4 cups), classic vs rich brew, brew / off, clean, and warm functions. The programmable function allows for brewing on your schedule. The brew strengths are rich and classic, with rich supporting the bold robust in your face dark roasts, versus classic being a bit more mellow laid back kind of brew. Time delayed brewing works as expected, and is quieter than many coffee makers. The warm function will keep your coffee warm for up to 4 hours, based on time preset selected. Overall, standard coffee maker functionality in a well packaged design.
The things that make this coffee maker stand out for me is the ergonomics of the design, small footprint, and locking lid, which is a complete game changer. The one small complaint I have is I wish there was one more temperature setting for coffees that brew best at or above 200F.

This is a great simple coffee maker! It does what I need and wanted, no more, and a great price point! Programmable works and the hot plate works as advertised. Worth the purchase if you just want COFFEE and don't need the frills (or waste of money IMO), brews fast with easy clean up.

Bought this after my Breville grind-and-brew was outted as the torture device it actually was, then it died. I wanted another grind-and-brew coffee maker but couldn't find a machine with consistent reviews. I went with this one primarily because it has the oversized carafe; I drink a lot of coffee. Everything is pretty easy to use. The directions are clear and concise, and some parts have stickers on them in case you're too lazy to read. I was worried about the included basket as sometimes they can impart an undesirable flavor to the coffee. This one doesn't. The clear tank in the back disconnects from the machine for easy filling, which I find convenient and clears up a little more counter space (getting rid of my coffee machine filling jug). The timer start works great but the am/pm indicators are small, and I have over looked them several times which leads to a disappointing empty carafe. My primary complain is the coffee maker takes about 20-30 minutes to brew a full pot. I'm not a monster so I don't pull a mug until the whole pot is done. The machine has a heating element timer but its never gotten the opportunity to work because there's never any coffee left by the time it would shut off. All in all I would recommend this machine as a basic drip brewer, with adequate frills, at a reasonable price (I mean...80 bucks is the new 20 it seems, not that I agree with it), and a solid quantity producer.

Great coffee maker, I love the removable tank. I wish it was shorter like my old Ninja coffee maker. This one does not fit in my refriderator door filtered water area. It looks very nice and will brew up to 14 cups! I would give it a 5 star if the carafe did not hold water at the top seal. I have to wipe it out with a paper towel every time I clean it.

I really like this coffee maker. I usually buy more basic, less expensive coffee makers, but I wanted one with a removable water reservoir so I could easily clean it. This one was reasonably priced. It works well and makes good coffee.

We just bought a Ninja Programmable XL 14-cup Coffee Maker Pro. It is absolutely wonderful and we are so glad we bought this particular item. It is fully programmable: time, set ahead to have coffee ready when you want it, various choices as to how you want your coffee brewed (Classic or French Roast for example), has a permanent filter, although we do use a paper filter as well, it's just all around perfect. Only drawback, as with all other coffee makers too, it only stays ON for 4 hours.... then we have to turn it back on if we want the coffee that's left to stay hot. LOVE this coffee maker!

IFirst impressions of this coffee maker were fantastic. The quality was fantastic, the plastic is high quality with what appears to be glass filled resin, which is really good. The filter lid is soft close and sturdy. The water reservoir fit and feel is great, uses silicon to seal the bottom which is higher quality than most competitors. The display is great, everything checks the boxes BUT one thing. Its a big BUT. The entire reason i bought this was for the temperature settings. I like to use the delay start so when i wake up in the morning i can grab a cup and go out the door ready to drink. If you do research coffee will butn skin at 150F and above. Cool, a coffee maker than has carafe temperature settings, not to be confused with brew temperature. I ran a test with 30 minute intervals on high, medium, low. Temperatures were 196, 195, 191 respectively. Basically the featute is useless. I had a hamilton beach coffee maker for 7 years that held 160F on low which was perfect but they no longer make the product. This is a super simple thing to fix with programming. Also, read reviews about the carafe having issues where the spout drips after pouring a cup. I saw no issues at all with this. The carafe is very nice. I work in consumer goods testing for a living, i think highly of ninjas products, this is a great coffee maker if you dont care about temperature settings but ill be returning this product.

Been needing a new coffee maker after breaking the carafe on my last one. This one seemed to be a great fit, and it turned out great so far. Love the 14 cup capacity as we are big coffee drinkers. Fairly straight forward to use, has a nice design to it. The carafe has a straight edge to help prevent the drip as opposed to the curved edge/spout. Removeable water resevoir is a bonus!

My tried and true Cuisinart 15 cup finally burnt out, so wifeys only requirement was that it had to be a Ninja Coffee Machine to replace it. The rest of the counter is all Ninja products,-so the search began. Read some odd reviews about dripping off the spout, but I can tell you that’s not my experience. The machine is compact, space saving, with a lot of delicate replaceable parts-(which makes me a little nervous). But, overall it’s a very nice 12 cup machine that brews a robust morning cup of Joe! I’m happy, Wifey’s happy, Izzy’s happy. It’s a win-win all around.

I moved to a new apartment, and had several items that were ninja. Wanted to get a matching coffee pot, and have not been disappointed. I don't drink a lot of coffee so I don't use it all that regularly, but it is well built and looks very nice with other ninja products next to it.
