This isn't like one of those small inexpensive air fryers. The Ninja Foodi Grill is a small kitchen appliance that offers compact size, energy efficiency, and versatility. It is basically a mini-convection oven with additional features than your typical oven. It will air fry, grill, bake, roast, broil, and dehydrate.
It is exceptionally well made and heavy duty, and should last a long time. The Foodi contains all of the pieces needed to cook most things you'd cook and keep it clean. The non-stick coating on the pieces are excellent and could easily be wiped off without leaving any residue. The pieces can be washed in the dishwasher, but they are big and take up a lot of space in a dishwasher, so I just wash them by hand.
Note: It is a little heavy, so not something you'll probably move around a lot between uses. I have reserved a spot on my counter for this so I can easily get to it when needed. It is almost smoke-free, so you don't have to worry about having a fan nearby or the smell from what you're cooking. I cooked some hamburgers and some steak on high and there was a little smoke from the corner. There is some noise, presumably from the internal fan, but it isn't excessively noisy. It is quieter than most kitchen fans.
I have used this for 6 meals over the last 5 days. I've tried the air fryer, grill, and oven (bake). The enclosed booklets contain recommendations for cooking times and temperatures, as well as recipes. I found that you need to try it a few times to see how long and the correct temperature. For example, I cooked french fries and hamburgers the first time based on the suggested time and the fries were a little over done. I did it again and decreased the time by 4 minutes and they came out perfect. The second night I made chili cheese dogs on grill and they were absolutely perfect. The hot dogs were cooked perfectly. I put the buns right next to the hot dogs half-way through with some some cheese and onions inside. The buns were soft and warm and not dried out like the gas grill sometimes does. The hot dogs were beautifully browned and hot.
The instructions are very helpful and will help you get started. But, you always need to try it a couple times and adjust the time or temperature based on the size and quantity of the food you have. A couple nights I cooked chicken with one of the marinades from the booklet. (Their Garlic and Herb Marinade has become one of my personal favorites for chicken, fish, pork and fried potatoes!) Both times the chicken came out perfectly cooked and juicy with beautiful grill marks. It's certainly something I would use for a date night with friends. (Your $2,000 Weber Grill doesn't impress anyone!)
Overall this is a great kitchen appliance for an individual, a couple, or small family. I plan to use this for grilling in the winter and when I don't need the full oven or have two things that call for different oven temperatures. The only thing I would like differently is for it to have a pause on the timer, so when I open it and flip the food over, I can pause and restart the time. Also, I wish all of the pieces would nest into the unit for easy storing. Right now the grill pan sits out separately. But, these aren't deal breakers for me. It's a perfect addition to my kitchen.

Ninja seems to keep on coming out with very versatile indoor cooking appliances and this Foodi Grill continues that trend with great indoor grilling results along with the ability to air fry, roast, bake, as well as dehydrate.
I used the Foodi Grill for grilling some steaks as well as some salmon and both turned out quite well for not being a traditional outdoor grill. During the winter months when I don’t want to step outside in the snow, this will definitely fit the bill for getting good grilling results without the need for a traditional grill.
I can also see this being useful for someone in an apartment or just for anyone that doesn’t have a full-on outdoor grill.
What I like about the grilling (and other cooking methods) is that you can actually put food on while frozen and with additional cook time, it can both thaw and cook the meat without making the meat turn out chewy.
It seems like Ninja always thinks about how a product can be used in many ways and this Foodi Grill is the same where it’s very versatile in the sense that it can also double as an air-fryer, you can roast stuff like vegetables in here, there’s also a baking function, and you can also dehydrate.
They emphasize a lot in the instructions to use an oil with a high smoke point and this is definitely important to keep smoke to a minimum while grilling indoors. Coconut oil worked well for me but I would not suggest using butter. They make it very clear that it’s not recommended and that’s certainly the case as I attempted to use butter with a steak and the smoke, although not terrible, was much more than coconut oil. You’ll have to stick with the oils they recommend such as canola, coconut, avocado, vegetable, and grapeseed oils.
Clean up is a pretty easy process as well for the most part where nearly everything that could get oily is removable as well as dishwasher safe. They include a cleaning brush for the grill grate for any food remnants and also found that useful for the air fryer crisper basket. You can also remove the splatter shield that’s mounted on the lid but I did find a little portion around the splatter shield that you have to make sure to wipe down after use.

My expectations with this product were pretty neutral because I had always had the impression that indoor grills were messy, inconvenient, and made food greasy. However I am glad I decided to give this Ninja Foodi 6-in-1 grill a try because I was quickly impressed when I started cooking with it. I was also very impressed before I even started cooking, while opening it I realised all the different cooking surface options the Foodi came with. I was only expecting the grill grate so to get the cooking pot and crisp basket was a bonus. I also noticed the splatter shield that protects the heating element and the grill brush and I appreciate the thought. As I was prepping my chicken I was planning on grilling, I let the foodi grill preheat on high as it was recommended, and once I placed my raw chicken tenders on the grill grates they immediately started sizzling the way they would on a grill and it was just so cool. The cooking surface was bigger than I was expecting as I fit my entire package of chicken (aprox 2.4lbs) all on the grate with room to spare. I can see 3-4 burgers fitting on this grill with no problem as well. While cooking, there was little to no mess and absolutely no smoke, I could not believe I was grilling in my kitchen. When I opened the grill halfway through to flip the chicken, it was cooking so evenly, the chicken had the perfect sear lines on it, and the food was not sticking to the surface at all, nor was it sitting in any oils or greases while it cooked. The user interface and buttons on the front of the grill were very easy and straightforward to follow, if someone has used an air fryer before or really even an oven, this will be an easy device to use. When the chicken was done I let the air fryer sit and cool and cleaned it up when we were done eating. The grill grate and the cooking pot had some food residue to be expected, and despite sitting for close to 45 minutes before being cleaned, it cleaned exceptionally well. Nothing was stuck on, I rinsed with some warm water and soap, and put them in the dishwasher, where they came out perfectly afterwards. I can see so many meals being cooked in this in the future. Our family loves grilling, however we live in a climate that is not exactly grill friendly for at least 6 months out of the year. This Ninja Foodi grill will definitely help us get our grill fix during the winter months. The only minor issue I found with this device which will take time to experiment and learn with is cook times and temps, I was trying to follow airfryer chicken recipes, as well as follow the directions and guidelines the grill came with, which were two very different directions and I tried to meet in the middle and I know my chicken could have turned out better if had I listened to likely the device directions fully and ignored my recipe instructions. Overall our family is super excited to have this new appliance in our kitchen and we would definitely recommend it to friends.

Fantastic Indoor Grille/Air Frier

This is fantastic, especially in the Midwest on a cold, snowy
day. The first thing I made was two tenderloins using the
broil function. As stated in the user manual, preheat took
10 minutes, then received message on display to add food.
Hit the start button and display auto populated with the
Auto/suggested cooking time. I also waited the extra after
cook time for beef to finish its cooking process per the
suggestion in the user manual. The Ninja then tells you
when to flip the steaks approximately half way through.
I was Impressed with the results. Steaks had a slight tinge
of pink and grille marks, tender and juicy.
Next, I tried the Air Fry Function. Same thing with chicken
nuggets. Came out crispy and juicy. I’m sure the other
choices, Bake, Roast, Dehydrate will work just as well.
The pan, crisper tray and ceramic coated grille grate are very
nice quality and easy to clean. I am especially impressed with
durability and weight of the grille grate. I did not get any
smoke during the cooking process “nice”. I have several
Ninja products and they all perform as expected. A solid
Brand. The included recipe book and the cleaning brush are
a nice addition. Very easy to operate!

I have several Ninja products and have been very happy with them. So when I saw the Ninja foodi 6 in 1 countertop grill I was curious. I liked the idea of being able to grill indoors and my other “grilling product” was very limited on what it could do given that it was hinged and could only handle thinner items. I took a chance and got it. The black and stainless steel look goes well with my other appliances so it blends in and looks very nice. It has 6 functions which are airfry, bake, roast, dehydrate, grill and broil. I figure an extra item to airfry in is a definite bonus but was mainly looking at it for the grill feature to be honest. I admittedly was a bit worried when I decided to throw two big T-bone steaks in there. I lightly brushed with oil and applied my seasonings per the instructions. As the instructions said I did it on high. They did take longer than expected to cook but when I did other steaks on a different night I realized that was most likely due to my error. The first night there was not really any room around the steaks so the air could not circulate properly. With more room they cooked perfectly within the given time. Either way they turned out so nicely done and tender! I was honestly shocked by the results, even my husband was impressed. Granted they do not get the browning on the outside or the flavor from a well seasoned grill but they are wonderful. The browning issue could probably be solved by broiling it for a minute but I am not that worried about it. The outside of the unit gets warm but given the inside temperature that is to be expected and it is not that hot. The included guide is very handy in helping you know how long to cook different items and what setting to use. Another great feature is that you can cook things straight out of the freezer if you forget to defrost it. This is definitely a welcome addition to my kitchen. Once again another amazing product by Ninja!!!

In the box is the foodi grill, a splatter shield, removable cooking pot, removable grill plate, removeable crisper basket, cleaning brush, recipe book, quick start guide and owners guide.
First impression, this grill looks amazing. It’s compact but beware, all of the pieces don’t nest in the grill for storage. If you have the crisper in, you can’t rest the grill in as well, that piece has to stay on the outside.
Cooking is awesome, all of the literature provided should assist with the different types of food to cook and the settings to use for it item. I have found that the settings listed are pretty accurate and my food has come out great. There is also a website with more cooking and recipe ideas.
One key thing I love is the display panel. I can press a few buttons, get it started, listen for the ding for the pre-heat and then add the food. I listen for the last ding when the food is done. I need to know the status in between, the panel tells me the stage of cooking and how much time is left.
I also love the cooking pot. Not only is it great for cooking but it is a great accessory for the catch all for the grill and the roasting accessory. I have cooked many times with both the grill and the roaster accessory and just cleaned those parts because I don’t use oil or butter, the cooking pot ends up catching food that may have fell to the side or through the grill plate. After using the roaster, I noticed that there were little drops of oil and I had to do was wipe it clean, no super hard cleaning to get burn stains or oil stains out.
Overall, I am so in love this product and the only negative is that I can’t nest everything together for storage. Also, the product does smoke a little but I read in the manual that cleaning the splatter shield will help with that.
I would definitely recommend this product to friends and family!

Fryer Time

Got this primarily for healthier frying and it certainly works great for that, fast and efficient. We've only had this appliance for a couple of weeks but here is our take on it so far. Quality made, should last a long time. A bit heavy and bulky for under the counter storing but definitely too big to permanently leave out on top of your kitchen countertop. Cleanup is a breeze but it did take a minute to figure out how to get the screen out, which led me to You Tube to figure out, which led me to a bunch of videos showing all of the amazing ways you can cook things with this model as well as dehydrate (cooked 3 steaks to perfection for my wife and I and sliced the third one into strips long ways and dehydrated them and now they make the best snack whenever needed). The stainless steel and black exterior matches our kitchen. The power cord could be a little longer but I guess they make it the length it is for safety sake. The lid opens and closes nicely and feels balanced and sturdy no matter where you grab it from. The interior depth is a little shallower than some other models I've seen but its lower profile is a trade off because it is not too high to full open the lid while remaining under the kitchen cabinets as it sits atop the kitchen countertop. All in all this is an excellent product at a great price and we would recommend it to everyone. Definitely watch the various You Tube videos about the operation and recipes of all the things you can cook with it that you never thought of.

Ths is my first experience cooking with an air fryer, so it is likely not too surprising to say it takes some practice to become accustomed to it. Even though I read all the very helpful instructions and cooking directions, my first use delivered slightly undercooked brats while my second use produced greatly overcooked hash browns. I did even more research and preparation before cooking pork chops and managed to get it just about perfect.
Along the way, I discovered that this device is very well designed and quite easy to use. You simply select the cooking mode, then select the mode dependant temperature setting, and the time to cook. It will preheat and notify you when to add food once preheating has completed.
As advertised, it is very nearly smokeless whether grilling or air frying (I have not tried dehydrating, the third function, but have no doubt that it would work well). After cooking, the non-stick cooking grill, fryer basket, and basin are very easy to clean.
The unit is relatively easy to lift or move as needed since it is not as large or heavy as I feared it might be.
So, it is an excellent easy to use device which I shall undoubtedly become more proficient with in time.

I have had multiple indoor grills and air fryers over the years. This Ninja Foodi is the first device I've had that can both air fry and grill. I have to say, it's a huge plus to have 1 device that does everything. It really helps for those of us with limited counter space.
I was skeptical at first of the grilling function, as I already have used indoor grills with searing functions. I was pleasantly surprised that this Ninja Foodi Grill cooks very evenly. It leaves grill marks and has done a fantastic job of cooking ribeye steaks, and bone in chicken. The chicken came out with crispy skin and and evenly-cooked, juicy inside. The steak also came out amazing. After grilling my steak, I switched to the air fryer basket to cook a couple stuffed mushrooms, and those came out perfect.
This is my favorite kitchen gadget in quite a while, and the versatility makes it convenient. Setup is easy, and clean up is as easy as it gets. The grill plate and fry basket are ceramic coated, and everything feels thick, heavy, and sturdy. I can't recommend this grill enough for people that want an easy to clean, easy to use cooker that makes great food indoors.

Does so much and does it well

This Ninja Foodi 6 in 1 does so much.
Grilling works so well in this. You can cook meat from fresh or frozen and get a great result. And it tastes as if it was cooked on the outdoor grill. No smoke, no heat blast to the face, no standing out in the cold or rain. Just delicious grilled food in the comfort of my own kitchen.
Pre-heating is something I've had to learn on this. But it's been worth it. The food does so well with the pre-heating the grill/basket first.
The touch buttons work great. Just input your cooking type, temp and time and press start. It will start the pre-heating phase and it will let you know when it's ready to put the food in to cook. The grill allows you to adjust the heat from low to max. It even gives the food sear marks.
But this is not just a grill. It is also an air fryer for a more healthy way to cook crispy foods. And it does crisp them. You can also bake, broil, and roast your foods without heating up the kitchen like an oven does. Dehydrate meats and fruits to your hearts delight.
It is a versatile appliance that works great.
