Shame On Best Buy

This is not a review of the Logitech G cloud but a review of best buy customer service. I purchased a Gcloud and ultimately decided it wasn't for me and attempted to return it. Best Buy denied my return because the serial number on the box did not match the Serial Number of the device. It was off by 1 digit.
This didn't make sense to me as it was purchased new in box and i even paid extra for home delivery. I reached out to Logitech support and they confirmed the serial numbers are not supposed to match. The box serial number will always end in a 9 and the unit serial number will always end with an 8, but all the other numbers will match.
Shame on best buy for treating paying customers as criminals and not training staff properly on the products they sell.

Hey! We understand your frustration with the return experience at Best Buy for your Logitech G CLOUD. We apologize for any inconvenience this caused. It's important for retailers to have accurate return policies, and it appears there might have been a misunderstanding with the serial number format. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention.

Wish I never bought it. I thought it'd be ideal for around the house gaming, as it can only tether off of other connected devices so it's not like a steam deck or nintendo switch and doesn't cost a small mortgage. But that's literally all it is. A tether to do what you were already doing just laying down , maybe lol the UI is crap and hard to play with steam games. Don't buy this. Theres better things coming out or have come out.

First thing first, it’s overpriced for a android tablet with a controller on either side, that being said i love this handheld. The quality of the build is great. Sure you could just use a backbone or something similar on your phone, but imo none of those are as comfortable as this. The screen is perfect at 1080 considering the size, the buttons feel great, and the fact that it’s android make it one of the best ways Ive experinced to play the legitimate back ups of older games that I run through emulation apps on the google store. If your only planning on using this devive while your at home within range of your pc/xbox/ps you will love it, if your looking to use it while traveling and want to play AAA games it’s probably a better idea to spend the extra $ and get a steam deck. Its so comfortable and the battery life is SO good i dont see myself ever using a steam deck or any other alternative while at home.

I’ve had this for a few weeks now bought it to play more games with my xbox game pass subscription it definitely does cloud gaming pretty well for most tiltles. Retro gaming on this is great with it being a android device. Build quality and feel are top notch. Quick setup battery life is amazing days of game play in my experience. Defintiely worth a look if you want a light portable handheld for traveling and cloud gaming. My only knock is there is no video out for larger screen gameplay. However, its in my back pack now daily!

Great dedicated streaming platform

Honestly, these things are profoundly underrated. When compared to other handhelds like the Ally, Legion Go, SD, or Ony, it's just a totally different animal. Dedicated streaming platforms are a new breed, and IMO, they are going to be the way of the near future. Local play and rendering on ANY console is getting progressively more and more unnecessary. The power required, (in comparison to streaming), is heavy and limiting. I have a dedicated Gaming PC with thousands of dollars invested into cooling and power. I can literally see the power draw on my electricity bill. Even if I had a handheld capable of the same power, id still go for the GCloud. It's light, powerful, and long lasting. The battery mileage may very, but Ive seen upwards of 8-12 hours of play without need for charge. On a 7 inch screen, the differences between 1080p and 4-8k are surprisingly less obvious than one would expect. The same can be said for refresh rates I.E FPS. I can see this thing serving well as a travel Console or wvwn just something to keep and play around the house. If you buy it, dont expect it to replace an ally or a SD, because it isn't meant to. Compared to a Kishin or a backbone, this device is king.

Cloud Streaming

So when i initlaly purchased this, I knew it was a cloud base streaming. Attaching my xbox account, steam account and google were simple and easy. Xbox cloud gaming is in Beta, so Im hoping it gets expanded. Majority of titles on Xbox Cloud i do not have interest in or heard about it. You are able to play Fortnite on the device so thats a plus. There is not alot of sports cloud gaming available as i like to play madden and nba. When it come to the Steam play, your PC does need to be on in order for the device to connect to and play your steam games. With that being said, you have have great internet on the gaming device and the PC in order to maintain that cloud gaming. Without great internet, your games will lag tremendously. That being said, the device is lightwight, and very portable. At the moment there is not a ton of accessories if any.

I’m a 40 year old dad with three kids under four. I own a gaming laptop, Switch, and PS5. Gaming time is limited and sequestering in my office is not a desirable option. While the Switch is great, it doesn’t have the AAA game capacity of other systems. Enter the Logitech Cloud.
This device is PERFECT for my situation as I can stream my PC through Moonlight, PS5 through PSPlay (a 3rd party android app as the official Sony one doesn’t work as well), and then Game Pass through XCloud. AND I can do this all at 1080p (with the exception of XCloud which caps at 720p). It’s like this device was designed specifically for my situation with small kids.
As for the hardware itself, it’s fantastic. The joysticks feel great, the screen is large and vibrant, and the system is light with it conforming nicely to the hands. The ergonomics are stellar. Since you’re streaming game content the battery lasts so long compared to other gaming handhelds. The d-pad, however, is just ok. It gets the job done, but there are better ones out there.
The downside: this thing is expensive. $50 more gets you a Steam Deck. It is severely overpriced, but it does what I need it to do perfectly. If you have the funds and are in the same situation as me with kiddos, however, it’s worth it.

I bought this for a very specific use case, and for it I am more than happy with my purchase. I have a fairly high end gaming PC that is my main choice for playing video games. But for those times when I want to play my PC games handheld on the couch and relax, this is the perfect solution. I use the moonlight app on the G Cloud to stream via Sunlight from my PC, and it is near flawless. Just set those up and run steam big picture mode and enjoy near zero latency gaming on a device with an HD screen and amazing battery life. Would recommend to anyone wanting to bring their PC to the couch.

First thing is the price. Yes its over price and use older chipset. But...
Having the Steam Deck, Nintendo OLED and Older Model and couple retro handheld device. I was suprise to see that they had this in stock and decided to give it a try.
The hardware is solid. No fan noise, no plastic noise, screen is bright and clean, buttons and stick is solid(just need to break them in)stick can be touchy when playing games but just have to to move it little and will work out. The battery oh my goodness this thing last. Yes its a cloud device. But if you set it up well, you can play on the road without wifi. Its light weight, and great to hold in your hand.
Break down:
Solid device, I set it up for cloud gaming, retro gaming(WOW this thing handle),home controling setup for lights, alarms, cameras, music, bluetooth devices. For the price yes its high, I miss the sell price on it and was thinking of returning it since I have a Steam Deck and Nintendo OLED. But after I did all the updates and installed a fast 512MicroSD and installed the apps and emulators. I was very impress what it can do and how solid it felt in my hand. I grab this more then my other device and you can add a usb c hub and add camera and keyboard mouse to use for zoom or MS Meet. But I got this for cloud gaming for XBOX and playing retro games that I have in the pass from Atari, C64, Amiga and more. and to control my home smart system. There is more it can do and I will test it all. So far I was surprise what this device can do and how long it last on battery and thats watching netflix, youtube, play games and listen to music and it just last.
As of this review. our best buy sold out in the store and Im glad I took a chance. Now Logitech please do more updates on the device like rotations and better tablet intergration. SOLID DEVICE that does a lot more then you thing. And I just got this thing and its already my go to device. I can see more use for this device besides cloud. Great job Logitech. Just keep this thing up to date to imroved it more. Check out my video review soon. Not like what you see already on youtube

I was uncertain about this at first. I had a steam deck, and used it alot, but most if my games are on xbox. Sure, you can still cloud game on thw steam deck and remote play as well, but this thing is wayyyy better st it than a steam deck. I can easily remote play and cloud game anywhere theres a decent wifi connection. So far, ive had no issues playing at work, friends or familys houses and on my 5g hotspot. For the price (299 on sale) id say its a decent buy. If you can get it for cheaper than even better. Battery life is amazing, wifi connection is stable and game play is beautiful.

I watched endless reviews of this vefore jumping on it. I saw positive and negative reviews for it but ive had nothing but positive thoughts of the G Cloud! It is not meant to compete with ROG Ally or Steam deck but suplement if you travel and want to do eother cloud gaming with xbox game pass or even emulate. Ive been able to emulate tons of games from gameboy advance to ps2. The battery life is great and it is lightweight.

The G Cloud is definitely underpowered compared to what you can get in a modern handheld in similar price ranges (AYN, RP4, etc..) but it's definitely worth the price when you factor in the build quality, and ease of use. This can natively emulate up to PSP comfortably using Retroarch and standalone emulators. Further than that, individual games are hit or miss. Streaming through Moonlight (PC), Local Xbox, and Xbox Cloud have all been solid with minimal dips in connection. I've played for hours at a time with minimal input lag and great quality (1080@60), and it almost doesn't feel like it's streaming at all. It stays VERY cool, and the battery lasts a LONG time. I put it into sleep rather than turn it off, and the battery will last me ~3 days with maybe 3-4 hours a day of actual use, mostly Moonlight streaming.

The Logitech G Cloud is great for streaming from your home Xbox and Playstation. It works great for Xbox Cloud gaming. I use it all the time to play Diablo 4 on my PS5 both while at home and when I'm away. As long as your internet speeds are up to par this thing will be awesome!
The screen is beautiful. The controls are pretty decent. For me, the sticks are a little bit on the smallish side somewhat bigger than the sticks on a Nintendo Switch Joycon. My hands are on the larger size and I wish the sticks were like a full size controller but that's kind of a nitpick.
It's extremely light weight but doesn't feel cheap at all. It runs on Android and has access to the Google Play store which gives you access to all sorts of apps and games and that's also where you can get the Psplay app for Playstation streaming and alternative Xbox Gamepass streaming apps.
Now here's where this thing has a secret weapon in its arsenal!!! EMULATION! Since it runs Android you have a huge selection of emulator apps that can play games from all sorts of systems ranging from Atari, NES, SNES, Sega, Dreamcast, N64, PSP, Nintendo DS, GameCube, PS2 etc. I was even able to play some GameCube games online with a little set up work. Phantasy Star Online on a handheld!!! That's like a 25 year old dream! Haha!
It has bluetooth so any wireless headphones work. It has a 3.5mm headphone jack. It charges with USB C.
I definitely recommend this if it fits what you want to do with it.

I had no hopes of this filling any void that my broken Steam deck left behind and was fully expecting I would return it... I'm very pleasantly surprised.
Sure, it's using a mobile SoC (snapdragon something or other) running android and both those make me cringe a little considering the ridiculous price of this thing......seriously, Logitech, get over yourself. This is not worth $300... It's just not. Club down off your high-horse and set the price at a permanent $199.
Agronomics are nice, it's lighter than the steam deck. The sticks feel nice and the screen is VERY nice for the specsheet. While only 1080p and 60hz, the contrast is great and max brightness is very good!
Buttons feel good, etc. the sticks seem to have a real dumb default curve which luckily is now customizable and allows to "fix" allowing for full 360° circles, vs the default which, for some reason, prefers a Dpad, compass direct curve, ignoring angles. Like I said, can easily be adjusted now.
Streaming works great, the gyro works using Moonlight+Sunshine which is how everyone should be streaming games. Sharp haptics that feel decent, down firing speakers that get loud for a handheld.
Only 32gb of internal and the OS takes up 20gb, ...tell me again why this is still $300??
I just wish they didn't price themselves out of real competition. I ONLY recommend if you can get it on a discount.

When Logitech launched this thing, a lot of people scoffed at them and mocked the device. There were all kinds of complaints that it was underpowered, couldn’t play triple A titles, and it was overpriced.
Let me tell you, I’ve had the G Cloud, the Ally Z1 Extreme that launched around the same time as this, and I have even tried the backbone with my iPhone 15 pro max. Yeah there are some awkward things about this and untethered performance has its drawbacks, but is it really worse than the competition?
Cons
* poorly optimized WiFi by default (turn off throttling)
* Speakers on the bottom of the device (easy to block)
* firmware updates take days to to finally show up
* Several of the apps do not work until firmware updates
* Some apps had to be searched to find updates
* Lack of cellular is a missed opportunity
* Only 60 Hz screen with no VRR
* Too many buttons on the face of the device
Pros
* When update the Device is nearly perfect
* Remote play means no compromise on visuals
* Insanely long battery life
* Good quality screen
* 16x10 Aspect Ratio
* Xbox, PC, PS, and Emulation from one device
* Very lightweight
* Excellent build quality
* Storage expandable with SD card
* Comfortable grip
* Highly Undervalued Device
So, let’s stop pretending most Z1 Extreme devices are truly a portable gaming system, as the battery life is severely limited in them. Also, they lack cellular radios as well.
If you remove the main reason for owning most of the Z1 models, due to their own limitations, the G Cloud becomes a much more attractive system to own.
I can sit out back by the pool, in the living room with the wife, in my office, in the restroom (yeah you know you would too) and experience excellent FPS (for a mobile device) without sacrificing visual effects.
The best part is that I can game for about 10 hours, from anywhere in my house, before needing to recharge the battery. With my Ally Z1E, many of these games would be an hour or less, with compromised visual effects.
If your use case is to have simple games and emulation when you’re away from home, and to untether yourself from a computer desk or somewhere else within your house, then this device makes far more sense than any of the other handhelds on the market.
Overall, this is a fantastic gaming device for what it is and in my opinion the price is in line for where I would want it to be,
If Logitech moves a few buttons around and maybe puts the speakers on the front, plus they add cellular, they will dominate this market.
One final note, I sold my OG Z1E and purchased an Ally X, but in the end I returned the Ally X, in favor of the Logitech GCloud, because I would rather remote game than wait for my device to charge.
Buy this while you still can.

Had unit for two days before returning. Purchased it at $299 which I felt was not worth it compared to other devices. I’m primarily playing game pass or streaming from my steam PC, so it met the needs but it often stuttered while playing steam games or game pass despite having APs throughout my house and more than adequate Wi-Fi speed. Despite the stutters it felt nice to hold and screen was great, unfortunately compared to other devices like the similarly priced Razer Edge or Steam Deck the product wasn’t worth the high cost.
