Perfect cup of rich smooth coffee

I have not experienced any of the issues I see in the reviews. This machine has done nothing but produce a rich, bold and smooth cup of coffee every single time. The only minor hiccup I encountered was during the initial power on in trying to set up the clock and auto function, for some reason the buttons didnt respond. I had to power down the machine several times before I was able to set up the time and program the auto function. I'm only a few weeks in but so far so good. Coffee has been nothing but fresh and delicious!

The De’Longhi True Automatic Coffee Maker is a premium tier brewing solution. I brew a decent amount of coffee even though I don’t drink it myself. My GF is the taste tester and an avid coffee enjoyer. At my house I have a pour-over carafe, a drip brewer, and a French Press. She has an iced coffee maker and a De’Longhi Espresso maker at her house. It was fun to compare the drink quality from this brewing solution to our other methods. The brewer comes with a small package of whole roasted beans, a scoop, descaling solution, and a water test strip used in the setup. The brewer itself has a pretty decent range of modes – light, gold, and bold brew strengths. You also have 6 different sizes – 3oz espresso style and 8, 12, 16, 20, and 24oz coffee style. You also have the option to configure it to brew over ice, use pre-ground coffee, and auto-brew. On top of the machine is the bean hopper, which has a gasketed lid to seal the container and maintain the freshness of the beans. The bean hopper feeds the built-in conical burr grinder. The front of the machine has the interface buttons and display. Below that is the removable section of the brewer which conceals the used grounds hopper and waste-water cup behind it. In the front is a flip down shelf used for shorter mugs or espresso cups. The bottom has a nicely weighted metal grill covering the overflow pan and has plenty of height to accommodate larger tumblers. The brewer is tall (around 16”) but it fits underneath my overhead cabinets, and the design of the top hopper makes it easy to add beans without pulling the machine out. It is wider than my drip brewer by a decent amount on account of the water reservoir, but it’s still manageable. Setting up the brewer was fairly easy. I followed through the quick start guide and familiarized myself with the components. I did the included hard water test – my water is a 2 apparently. I’m sure this rating helps the machine factor in time between descaling cycles. I cleaned all the pull-out components and let everything dry. Once everything was back together, I filled the water reservoir and started the initial cleaning cycle. This took a few minutes to complete, but once it was finished the machine had me set the clock and input the water hardness number. After all of this it was ready to go. Brewing some coffee was unbelievably easy. I powered on the machine with a press of the power button. After about a minute it is ready to go, so I select my cup size and brew strength, and then hit the brew button. The machine pulls in a measured amount of beans for my drink size, grinds them, and compacts them for brewing. From start to finish it takes about 3 minutes from powering on the machine to having a brewed cup of coffee at full strength. It’s really that simple. Machine care is pretty easy as well. You have to empty the used grounds when it gets full. A little indicator will go off telling you this, and will stop you from making more coffee until you do so. You also need to empty the waste-water cup every few days, or when it gets full. You also need to pull the infuser out of the machine and rinse it out monthly. I found the maintenance to be pretty easy and the machine keeps itself fairly clean. I want to note that I like all my coffee makers – they are great machines that make great coffee. However, I only have positives when comparing this to my other methods for brewing coffee. Compared to my drip maker and pour-over setup this was so much easier to brew with. I don’t need to bust out my crappy (yet reliable) blade grinder, and wait 2-3 times longer for the pour-over or drip process to complete. I also don’t have to clean out the wet grounds from the reusable filters, and I don’t seem to go through coffee beans as fast. The strength of the brew is stronger, which my GF wants. I also noticed fewer micro-grounds in the bottom of the cup vs. the other methods of brewing coffee. Making iced coffee was also easier just for the fact that the machine grinds the beans internally. I can also make various sizes of iced coffee vs. the single size my iced coffee maker produces. The manual even has a guide for the number of ice cubes to use based on the size you want. The only area where the TrueBrew has competition is from my other De’Longhi machine. It’s a 3 year old manual espresso machine (Model ECP3420), but it has a built-in steam frother that allows me to make lattes or cappuccinos. The TrueBrew system does not have a frother, which is the only downside (for me) with this system. The quality of the espresso was pretty close between the two. The edge went to the manual machine because it produced a little more crema. However, the TrueBrew was more consistent with the strength/quality since it doesn’t require manual tamping of the grounds – less chance for user error. It was also easier and decently faster to make an espresso with the TrueBrew. The built-in grinder and used ground handling system really gives it an edge in user friendliness. The versatility and ease of use of this machine can’t be overstated from me. I made things that are normally too much of a pain to attempt or was just unable to with the equipment I had. She works long overnights but is usually at my place before she heads in. The original espresso machine lives at her house, so prior to the TrueBrew I couldn’t make an espresso at my place. I would just make the strongest pour-over blend I could, and that was it. It wasn’t unheard of for her to skip the coffee from me and just hit up a drive-thru place. She’d get a couple of shots of espresso added to a drink from them. With the TrueBrew I was able to make her coffee and add a couple of shots of espresso in a matter of minutes. This saves her a good amount of time and money, which really adds up. I also got to make her favorite dessert – affogato. Nothing like watching the finale of The Last of Us with a fresh affogato to make for a nice night in. Some things that I liked about this machine aside from the coffee it makes. I have replaced my drip brewer, standalone grinder, and pour-over brewer and kettle with this machine. It would also replace the iced coffee maker, and expresso machine if they weren’t already at GF’s house. The counter and cabinet space used up by these other coffee methods took up a much larger footprint than the TrueBrew. The other thing I really liked was the little coffee ground cakes the machine produces. I have always put my used grounds in my garden for fertilizer. It is much easier to do it with the little cakes every few days than with the wet grounds that must be dispersed every time coffee is made. Overall, the TrueBrew system performs really well, and I am genuinely impressed. It has already replaced my drip brewer and pour-over setup in my coffee nook. I love the bean hopper and built-in grinder, which is a huge improvement over my old grinding process. The quality of the coffee produced is on par or better than what I was able to make before, and it is certainly easier and quicker.

Negatives first-loud, slow, small containers for used grounds and bypass liquid, so lots of emptying. Built in grinder leaks a bit into interior. Positives-brews a delicious cup of coffee, has three strength options and many size options, from 3 oz to carafe, which is fantastic!

Right out of the box the De'Longhi looks impressive, it comes in either matte black or stainless and I got the stainless to go with the rest of my kitchen. In front of the TrueBlue the control panel looks great and it has soft touch buttons and the instructions are easy to follow. It also comes with the measuring cup, manual and fresh coffee beans. I really like the approach from De'Longhi on this machine, it only uses the fresh coffee beans and it does not create plastic waste, it does not even need filters that end up in the garbage. The TrueBrew can brew six different sizes 3oz, 8oz, 12oz, 16oz, 20oz and 24oz. And it also has different Styles and they are: light, gold, bold, expresso style and over ice so we can vary every day. When it starts to work the room is filled with the fresh coffee aroma and it is an excellent way to start the day. And I can set it to Auto-On and set it to turn on at a certain time the next morning, so I know my coffee is done at that time I want. I also like how the machine has 3 temperature settings from low, medium and high. I like the Auto Clean function since it takes the wasted coffee and places it on a condensed puck so I can dispose of it as compose as plant food. Room for improvement is perhaps the water tank; I wish it was a bit bigger. I do have a small vacuum that I use to clean the machine so it is easy to do so every week, I like to keep it clean. Overall I really like the coffee, no more waste and the timer.

This coffee machine is an absolute game changer for coffee lovers. For starters, the ability to use fresh beans instead of pre-ground powder elevates the coffee experience to a whole new level. The machine grinds the beans fresh for each cup, producing a richer and more flavorful brew. (Even too powerful on bold setting almost lol). What surprised me the most was how quiet the machine is, given how powerful it is. And, when it comes to cleanup, the machine creates puck-shaped grounds in the collector which makes it easy to throw away. In addition to using fresh beans, the machine also has a separate slot for fresh ground coffee which is a nice touch for those who have a particular blend they prefer. The speed of the machine is also impressive. It brews a cup of coffee in less time than my previous machine, without sacrificing quality. The stainless steel construction gives the machine a sleek and modern look that complements any kitchen decor. It's also very easy to use, with a user-friendly interface that guides you through the brewing process. This De'Longhi TrueBrew Automatic Single Serve coffee maker with bean extract technology is an excellent choice for coffee enthusiasts who appreciate the convenience of a single-serve machine, without sacrificing quality or flavor like some of the other style machines that use the cup situations. Highly recommend!

Have to agree with a prior 3 star review that the coffee itself is great, however the machine creates such a mess. Even after making only 1 cup of coffee, the inside of the machine has excess water and grounds floating around. The two containers meant to collect the water and beans aren’t even full, and it still leaks outside of them, which defeats the purpose. It’s a great concept, but Delonghi needs to go back to the drawing board. Had to return because I don’t want to spend so much time each day cleaning and using several paper towels.

I purchased this based on the advice of an expert. I haven’t needed to use their customer service yet but they are supposed to be amazing. Overall I am pretty satisfied. My only complaints are more nit-picky. It seems to splatter if the rim of the mug/cup isn’t close to the top. The grounds aren’t as compact as I would have hoped. The unit is rather noisy. It’s more of a bother than I’d considered since I have to make the noise early in the morning when others are still sleeping. The compartments that needs to be removed and emptied almost daily. That part isn’t that bad. It’s when the grounds and some of the waste water doesn’t stay in the trays. It makes a mess when removing. To me it’s still worth it due to the convenience of no more filters and an all in one unit.

The quality of this machine is apparent the moment you unbox it. It's effortless setup and design makes it as easy to clean as it is to whip up a cup of your favorite joe. Im very impressed with the ease of use and overall it has been a wonderful experience. To start, I myself am a coffee fanatic, so owning a coffee maker is a no brainier. I'm pleased to say that this is the best choice I could've made. The TrueBrew is crafted with a suite of options like an espresso only mode, cup sizes ranging from 8 to 24 ounces and even a brew over ice mode. One thing to note is espresso mode is 3 ounces and requires a separate brew. The best thing about it, there's an auto setting! You simply set a time, assure your beans and water are stocked, and enjoy your pre scheduled coffee even when you're busy. It is also possible to use pre grounded coffee so whatever you prefer is perfectly fine. The TrueBrew cleans itself, believe it or not. After a few minutes of not using the machine it begins to auto clean and turns off, indicating it's no longer in standby. Though it's recommended to run a full clean cycle once a month. The different brewing options include light, gold and bold, for your desired strength. I was also surprised how quickly the grinding process was. Whole beans are stored on top of the unit and there is plenty of room for multiple brews before needing to refill it. You'll be able to easily identify which part of the machine needs attention based on the colored indicators on the front. For example, when water is low or the waste needs dispensing, it lights up red with the corresponding symbol. I can't express enough how great it is to have a cafe barista at your finger tips. I highly recommend the TrueBrew to anyone looking to upgrade their coffee making needs. DeLonghi has secured a part of my day to keep me caffeinated with minimal effort.

The best machine for single cup drip coffee!

Looking for a good coffee machine has become so difficult lately because of all the nuanced choices available. I'm an espresso guy mostly, but I like a good American style brew as well. I will typically only do one cup at a time, so my go-to brewer is a French press because I can vary the dosage. Single serve plastic k-cups with questionable fillings were never a thing for me. I've had automatic espresso machines for years; so when De'Longhi offered this one cup brew system, a name I recognized and a solution I approved of, I thought it worthy of trying out. De'Longhi has been making espresso machines for a long time in the consumer market, so I was aware of their products and capabilities which made my decision easier. As any of their machines, the TrueBrew starts as an espresso machine then adds some tweaks to allow it to brew like a drip brewer would. The built-in grinder has no fineness adjustment which I found to be a little odd. My guess would be the machine has preset fineness measurements based on the selection chosen. Also, based on cup size, the amount of coffee ground varies by 1-3 grams which can also be adjusted with the "light, gold, bold" settings. Another impressive, automated feature I've found was the crema dial (fluid flow) found on most of their machines is programmed into the drink selection menu. For example, an espresso would restrict water flow to the max, increasing pressure allowing for a richer extraction. Whereas, a 12oz coffee would have the restrictor at about half way, and a 24oz would be fully open. The extra tall spout can accommodate anything from a large tumbler to an espresso cup (thanks to the drop down tray). The 64oz water tank is a good size for at least 2 of even the largest selection and positioning it on the side makes the level easily viewable for refilling as necessary. The bean hopper can easily hold 12oz of your favorite coffee. There's also a bypass chute located just behind and incorporated in the bean hopper for when you want to try some pre-ground coffee. A few minor dislikes that I'm happy to contend with: the aforementioned bypass chute has a rather small opening and has a tendency to cause grounds to spill from the sides from the included scoop so just be careful pouring. Also, the hopper lid is devoid of any grab handle making it somewhat difficult to lift off and the surrounding gasket makes it difficult to put back in place. Cleanup is easy because it has the same interior as all automatic espresso machines, with a separate bin for used grounds, water and drip tray; they slide out from the front quite easily. When removing the brew unit for cleaning, make sure the machine is off, as it goes through a rinse cycle and returns the brew group to starting position. I love this machine! it is the ideal substitute for all those single serve cup and capsule machines and, it's creates no landfill waste.

Machine is junk! After 4-6 cups you have to empty out the water and grinds compartments, it leaks coffee water all over, they sell it as stainless steel but the machine is 98% plastic, its big, noisy and the coffee is not very hot. I microwave the coffee almost every time. Honestly, Deloonghi should be embarrassed with the quality of this machine.

This machine is top of the line fully automatic brew, great balanced result, it does take a few minutes to set up, program and figure out but so worth the wait, the result is a perfectly brewed cup of coffee regardless of the size or boldness level desired which you can pick before brewing. A couple of things that are not a big issue but you might want to be aware of is this machine will only brew individual cups up to 24 oz but will not brew a whole coffee pot, although it has the option to use pre ground coffee, the result with freshly ground beans is so much better and also the second point is that when you want to brew pre ground coffee over ice it only does up to 16 oz, but have to say I absolutely enjoy this new machine. I also like that it has a large water reservoir, so you don't have to fill up water all the time, it lasts me for a long time. Apart from that, I love that most of its panel is digital. It automatically grounds the coffee and brews it at the exact dose you want it to. You can choose light, gold, bold, espresso and iced coffee. I also love the auto on coffee, I have my coffee ready and waiting for me each morning, hands down, best coffee maker I've had!

Rating based on Value for Money When working, the machine makes excellent drip coffee. Super convenient grinding just the right amount of beans to the perfect granulation with the right amount of extraction. I love it. I would prefer an even bigger water reservoir and bigger receptacle so that I'm not having to refill water and empty the thing so often. I don't care if the machine has to be bigger to accommodate that. I've had mine about 10 months and already the heating element has gone bad. It does not make hot coffee anymore. For $500 before tax & shipping, the useful life was only 10 months. I expected much better. Took some doing getting in touch with the manufacturer to get assistance. We did a live video call where I demo'd the issue. Inside of a week, they've sent packing materials so that I can send the thing back for them to fix. No idea how long this is going to take. Unacceptable IMO. I don't mind sending it back, but send me a working replacement, they can keep the faulty one they sent me.

This thing makes bangin coffee, I drink 1 or more cups from it every day. Bit of a learning curve to cleaning and maintaining it tho. But I started ordering top of the morning coffee and using this all the time and it's been a great thing. the settings for the darkness of the roast are nice and it's cool being able to use whole bean and ground bean stuff. I dont know what other things look like at this price point for coffee makers but I'm happy enough.

My wife and I love the coffee this machine produces, and we like that we can set the temperature and brew strength. The only reason I cannot give it 5 stars is that I’ve gotten 2 replacements because an internal component stops working after 30 days. Extracts an excellent cup of coffee, especially with gold brew. A few quirks since you need to empty discharge chambers for grounds and water about every 4 brew cycles. The hole for adding your own ground coffee is in the back of grinder and very small so I suggest you purchase a funnel scoop. I wish you could adjust water temperature also. Pricey.

It seems like a feature rich item, but I wish I spent a 5th of the money and bought a Keurig, as this is basically a glorified version. Pros (compared to what others offer): - It grinds fresh beans Cons: - The coffee is weak, and you can’t adjust it - It doesn’t tell you something needs taking care of when it finishes a cup, it waits until you are trying to brew the next. And this prevents the auto brew from starting. - It takes a bit to turn on, but you can’t change any settings unless it’s ready to brew. - It’s LOUD - The little reservoirs designed to catch water used to flush the system and used grounds don’t catch everything, so when you add the above up you have to be prepared to hAve your routine be: turn on and wait, get action item (full grounds), open machine, empty containers, clean the mess that comes out when you open the machine, put back together, wait for coffee, drink coffee.

I originally bought this coffee machine for my husband but now, I’m using it more than him. It’s easy to clean and the settings don’t leave you guessing. The cleaning part is my favorite. The cleaning is very simple and not as intimidating like my breville. 10 out of 10 for simplicity and easy to use coffee machine. The only draw back is the size of this coffee machine. If you have a big kitchen counter than it won’t matter. I love it and don’t regret buying it.
