Excellent Feeling and Featured Keyboard

The Logi MX Keys S keyboard is a touch-typists dream. And since it’s multi-device and OS compatible including Windows, Mac, Linux, Android, and iOS it’s a reality for everyone. Mine is connected to a M1 Pro MacBook Pro and a Gen 8 iPad but I imagine the setup and user experience is going to be similar when used on other OS devices. Out front, from a Mac-user perspective, this keyboard is an excellent choice over Apple’s non-Touch ID Magic Keyboards in both feel and functionality. The only edge the base Apple keyboard has, perhaps, over the MX Keys S, is that because it’s an Apple product the user doesn’t have to grant security permissions to a 3rd party app, something that always gives me pause.
I’ll discuss this and the general setup in more detail, but first a quick description of what this keyboard is about and why it may be the keyboard of your dreams. This is an uncompromising full-size keyboard with number pad in every sense of the word. All the keys are gloriously well spaced; no matter your hand’s size they will feel neither cramped nor lost. And while it’s apparently all ABS plastic it’s a quality, sturdy in-hand feel. The built-in rechargeable batteries put it on the hefty side so I would not say it’s ideal for travel.
Description
The MX Keys S has all the conventional keys including 12 programmable F-Keys that double as pre-programmed shortcut keys for monitor brightness, volume, emoji menu, dictation, media control. Part of what makes this keyboard special to me is the backlit keys. My aging eyes appreciate this feature above all others. It’s one of the reasons I was drawn to this keyboard. So, of course, there are keys to adjust keyboard illumination. And “auto” illumination feature is also available.
Because this is a multi-OS compatible keyboard, Start/Option and Alt/Command are represented, respectively. Mac users will feel at home with this keyboard. The only annoying part of the keyboard layout is the placement of the function key enable button on the right side rather than the last key on the left. As a Mac user that confuses my muscle memory. This is one of a two areas where Mac users take 2nd fiddle to Window. Windows layout rules here with the control key placed where the function key on a Mac keyboard is located.
But wait there’s more! Atop the full-size number pad are four more shortcut keys. From left to right: launch calculator, launch screen capture, “look up,” which for me just duplicates the space bar, and put computer to sleep. To the left of these buttons are 3 quick switch buttons to let you switch control of the keyboard to other paired devices instantly. All of these buttons can be reassigned to do other functions in the Logi Options+ software explained below.
There are three ways to connect to a computer. From most secure to least: USB-C, Logi Bolt, and plain old Bluetooth. Battery charging shares the USB-C port and the keyboard can charge simultaneously while being used via USB-C in case you forget to charge the batteries. (On a Mac the battery level is available in the Bluetooth menu, either on desktop bar or in the preferences pane if you connect via regular Bluetooth or in the Logi Options+ app if you use Logi Bolt. The keyboard also has a colored light to indicate general charge level).
The 2nd area Mac users take 2nd fiddle is with the Included accessories: a USB-A to USB-C cable and USB-A Logi Bolt dongle. I found this to be a “pain point” and extra expense since my MacBook Pro only has USB-C ports. Other Mac users are likely to have this experience too since Apple has been depreciating USB-A for years now. Mac models of the past few years have limited or no USB-A ports. And honestly, given that USB-C is the new universal standard it’s odd the Logi Bolt isn’t USB-C and that a USB-C to USB-C cable isn’t included, even if in addition to a USB-A to USB-C cable given this keyboard premium price.
For USB-C only Macs (and presumably other types of OS users too), the Logi Bolt, which encrypts keystrokes end-to-end for enhanced security, works perfectly when attached to a female USB-A to male USB-C dongle connected directly to the Mac. Logitech claims the Logi Bolt can connect through a USB hub, but I had no luck in my attempts. However, to be fair, Logi, in its Logi Bolt white paper, lists specific USB hubs it tested for compatibility, none of which I own.
User experience
Typing on this keyboard is a joy. It has a graceful and elegant feel and sleek look, something you expect of any premium keyboard but is frequently not delivered. The comfortable angle lends to a correct hand-on-keys position, and the keys have the perfect amount of curvature that cradle fingers rather than trap them. Key travel has a satisfying tactile feel that isn’t overdone. I’m an “OK” touch-typist but this keyboard makes me feel like I’m professional court stenographer. It has improved my accuracy by keeping my fingers from staying square on the keys – kind of like training wheels for fingers. Also of note, this is a fairly quiet keyboard.
I haven’t had the keyboard long enough to vouch for Logi’s stated battery life, but it claims with moderate backlighting use expect 10 days of life and with backlighting turned off battery life is in the months. For whatever it’s worth, in the few days I have been using the keyboard my battery life remains at 100% with mostly daytime typing and very little backlighting use.
One unheralded feature is that the battery is removable and replaceable. Kudos to Logi for designing this keyboard in a more consumer and environmentally friendly manner rather than permanently sealing the battery, effectively making the keyboard disposable. So while this keyboard is not budget priced, it should last a long time to give value for money.
Setup experience including Logi Options+ software
Set up is not difficult, though having paired lots of devices in the past few years from various manufacturers, the process felt a bit dated and tedious. A QR code on a manual to eliminate having to type in the setup web address and download location of the Logi Options+ app would be appreciated. At least in my attempts, I could not pair the keyboard using only the Mac’s Bluetooth pref pane. I had to go through Logi’s set up page.
The setup process I’ll outline is based on doing so with my M1 MacBook Pro using Mac OS 12.6.5 (Monterey) and then a gen 8 iPad using iOS 16.4.1. It may be different on other OSes or even other Mac OSes. I first paired my Mac. Apple has increasingly “locked down,” parts of the OS over the past years to prevent malicious apps from stealing user data or creating other chaos. As a result, the device owner must now grant permission to install certain apps requesting access to sensitive user information – like keystrokes. The screens asking for this permission are quite ominous, and for good reason. They should be taken seriously. When you set up your MX Keys S on a Mac you will see these popups. Don’t be alarmed, just informed. Here are your installation options.
Out of the box the user is offered two different wireless connection instructions on the inside top of the box – standard Bluetooth or the more secure Logi Bolt dongle, described earlier. If you opt for the Logi Bolt install it in an available USB port on your device. After that setup with the Logi Bolt or standard Bluetooth is similar, but not exactly. I won’t get into the nitty gritty, so follow instructions in the box. For either set up the user is asked to confirm the target device’s Bluetooth is on and then head to Logi’s online setup page where a passkey is presented to enter into the keyboard. The keyboard should then be paired.
Next I paired my iPad which was simple and straight forward. I just pressed the “2” Easy-Switch key for 3 seconds. It started to flash indicating pairing was available. Then on to my iPad’s Bluetooth settings where I saw the keyboard and pressed the icon to finish the process. I was given a passkey to enter into the keyboard and done. So now I can simply press the “1” Easy Switch key to use my Mac or “2” to use my iPad. There is a total of 3 Easy-Switch keys.
After pairing the user is asked to setup a Logi account and download the Logi Options+ software. A Logi account is not required to setup the keyboard or to download or use the software. The Logi Options+ software makes it easier to fully customize the keyboard – program F-keys and key illumination, as well as to identify which device each Easy-Switch key controls. The keyboard and preset shortcut keys will function 100% without installing this software if these are not options that interest you.
Logi, on its business site, also offers an “offline” version of Logi Options+ for computers required to be offline. For more information on this version look on Logi’s business support site for “Logi Options+ Offline Installer.” There is a complete explanation of what this version does and does not do.
The Logi Options+ software is very simple to use, though not immediately intuitive. The screen shows a picture of the keyboard and its charge level underneath it. No instructions on how to use it. Clicking on the keyboard shows the menu. Why make the user take the effort click on the picture of the keyboard to access the menu? That’s inefficient, especially for a business keyboard. The menu should just appear on the screen. After this click though everything is self-explanatory and easy to customize.
Conclusion
And that’s the Logi MX Keys S in nutshell. It’s a fantastic choice for anyone desiring a keyboard that improves rather than impedes typing accuracy. It doesn’t hurt that it looks smart too and includes the enhanced security Logi Bolt dongle, even if it is USB-A in a USB-C moving world.

A nice wireless keyboard for up to 3 devices

The Logitech MX Keys is a heavy keyboard. It is wireless with backlit lighting. It can support up to three devices. The buttons to switch between devices are located right above the insert, home, and page up keys.
They advertise the fluid typing experience that is similar to laptop typing. I agree with this. It feels like my MacBook Pro M1. I normally use mechanical keyboards and this is a welcome change. It is comfortable to use and the feedback is good even though it does not have mechanical switches.
For some strange reason, I like the F6 button as an emoji menu. I guess I use emojis often when typing now haha.
Another function key is to control the brightness of the backlit lights. So far, I have not found a need to install the software. One less software to install is great in my opinion.
In order to connect via Bluetooth, you just have to press and hold one of the three device keys. For example, I wanted to set device 2 as my iPad. I just held the button down on the keyboard and wait for it to blink. My iPad Bluetooth then detects it. It shows a 6-digit code I type on the keyboard to complete the pairing. Sometimes the Numlock is disabled, so use the numbers above the letters and not the numbers on the numpad. To switch back to my desktop, I just press the device 1 button.
There are only two ways to connect to this keyboard. Either you use the USB dongle to connect wirelessly to it or Bluetooth. I thought I could use the USB-A to USB-C cable to connect it to the computer, but it is for charging. This is truly a wireless keyboard. It would be nice to have it be able to connect using USB cable but it is no big deal.
The battery is removeable and can be recycled but it is not your standard AA or AAA battery. You can remove the three rubber feet behind the keyboard. There you will find 3 screws hidden below a plastic cover. You can puncture it with a small Phillips screwdriver.
Overall, this is a nice wireless keyboard. It is comfortable to type on. The USB wireless does not have be line of site. It seems to work with my tower located at the far end of my desk and my secondary monitor in front of it. Being able to use Bluetooth is great because I can connect it to other Bluetooth devices and switch between devices with a press of a button.

This is my second of these that I've bought. The first keyboard was sacrificed to the gods of spilling my beer on the keyboard while playing D&D... My fault, not the keyboard.
This is very quiet keyboard, which is great for my home office use. I have it connected to a Windows PC, a MacBook, and an iPad, with an easy swap on the keys. That's probably one of the best features of this - it's extremely helpful to be able to hit a button and swap from computer to computer.

This keyboard has a sturdy construction that feels super premium. Before trying it out I was using a Logitech K270 which by comparison feels like it came with you desktop, only it wireless. This MX keyboard has a solid feel, like there is a steel plate underneath to cover. The keys are excellent, I had improved feel and keystroke throughout my work when I tried it out for two 10+ hour work days. I did have a couple problems: like all logitech keyboards I've ever used there were occasional issues with no response or repeated keys I didn't press. These usually occurred when pausing typing (videocall) and picking back up, you need to accept that this is a fact of life with wireless keyboards and be willing to accept that for the flexibility in your WFH setup wireless provides. I also was annoyed that the F1-F12 keys are not function keys by default and I had to find a reddit post in order to know how to Fn+Esc to make them work the way I expect, the way they have for over 30 years. One benefit of this keyboard, like its MX mice cousins, is that it has the agility to connect to multiple devices: you can setup three different devices and you just push a button to switch from work laptop to work desktop to play chromebook. If you install the logitech options app on your machines you also have the ability to seamlessly move from one system to the other and while I've tried and like this with MX mice I've used (and still use) I can't set that software up on my current work machines and so I'm confused as to how it would work and if it's really helpful: Having one keyboard at your desk and being able to seamlessly use it with any equipment (chrome, windows, Mac, up to three devices) really is helpful, and its great to do it with a premium feeling keyboard.

Easiest setup – just plug the receiver into a USB-C port and you are ready. Bluetooth pairing is also very easy, just press one of the Easy-Switch keys to enter pairing mode. Compatible with multiple operating systems.
Backlit keyboards are my favorite. As the light dims in my office, the keys are still visible. Proximity sensors detect your hands. It’s magic.
I also have the MX Master 3 mouse. With this keyboard and my mouse, I am able to utilize the logic-flow on up to 3 devices. Just press the Easy-Switch number 1, 2 or 3.
Logitech says that the battery will last 10 days with backlighting. On my previous version of this keyboard, the battery lasted 15-20 days for me. The included cable charges to a USB-C port and can also be used while you are working.
The spacing on the keys is perfect and the number keypad is handy. The volume keys are also very convenient and used a lot.
Tip - the “F” keys are set to media by default. As a travel agent, the “F” keys are used as special functions when connected to a GDS (travel booking system). I lost my functionality. But after looking online I found that it will switch back to “F” key functionality of you hit fn + esc. Great news and now it is perfect.
Highly recommended. MX Keys keyboards are definitely worth the price.

Excellent Keyboard. I have upgraded from a wired old mac keyboard (non-10 key), but now with the best of both worlds this could be used for both Mac and PC, and can switch from multiple devices. Currently I'm only using the USB receiver.
The keyboard sounds are quiet, and the backlighting of the keys are great, not to mention even when hovering your hand over, is when the keys light up; without having to press a key to wake up the keyboard and light up. This is what I find unique.
I do work from home, with once a week visits to the office being mandatory. Our workstation is a PC desktop, Windows environment. When I still had the old keyboard and working from home with MS Remote Desktop, I would confuse some keys with option as alt and sometimes quit the session by accident using command q vs option q in the MS Windows WFH (work from home) environment.
This wireless (which eliminates my wireless clutter), has both logos on the keys and now I know which is option/start or cmd/alt, etc. It does have some battery right out of the box and I have been using it for a couple of hours now. I will at the end of the day (working) give it a good overnight charge and unplug it the next day.
In addition I have installed an app called Logi Options + being Logitech's proprietary software and was able to see the keyboards battery life and customize your keyboard shortcuts, see which computers are paired via bluetooth and what's connected via the usb receiver, and even update the firmware.
Logitech's innovative products are surely the true accessories I have confidence and own mostly from computer speakers and accessories as well as keyboards. Its a brand that is a must in my book.

Unboxing this wireless keyboard the first thing I noticed was it came in a pretty compact packaging. I like this. I truly dislike too much packaging making it hard to get to my item and then dealing with so much material in the trash causing waste. The keyboard itself was about the same size as the box it came in. Taking the keyboard out, I was like woah! This thing is weighty. It felt really really solid but at the same time, I was shocked at how thin it was. There is a lip at the top of the keyboard that must house the rechargeable battery but also helps elevate the keyboard to give it a bit of an angle (please see photo). It was perfect for me but maybe not for others. Once placed on most surface, the keyboard stayed in place. The buttons where super quiet and had a real pleasant feel when pressing keys. It wasn't mushy or sloppy. The keyboard also had a backlighting but the keys themselves didn't light up, this would be one of two of my gripes. The other has to do with connection. The keyboard comes with a usb dongle to connect to your computer or you can do it by bluetooth. I noticed that when connected by bluetooth, there was a slight lag. The dongle was faster, so the lag wasn't really noticeable. But when I connected to my tablet via bluetooth, you definitely noticed it. After a few minutes of use, I didn't care that much. It wasn't as if you where typing 5-6 words ahead. All in all, this is one awesome wireless keyboard. I can't recommend it enough. Just super solid.

Overall, this is a very nice keyboard. The keys are quiet and feel tactile. The software is responsive and easy to use. And, the keyboard itself looks fantastic.
The keyboard has a premium feel. The keys feel like they have a soft texture oppose to glossy smooth. It has a weighty body and a great feel for each key press. The keys remind me of a laptop, but without excessive mushy-ness. The keys are a little mushy, but it is not very noticeable when typing out something long. Like this review
Something that surprised me was the inclusion of instructions for removing the battery for recycling. I wonder if Logitech, or some other third-party will offer replacement batteries in the future. But, I think this is just for recycling the product itself.
My only gripe is the backlight: It isn't bright enough or some of the keys have too fine of detail to be properly illuminated. Some keys (The calculator button and app menu button beside the lock button) look a little dim. In a very dim or dark setting, it looks fine. But, I prefer a backlight constantly and in a brighter setting, it looks a little splotchy.

The Logitech MX Keys S Advanced Wireless Keyboard is a stellar upgrade for both PC and Mac users, showcasing Logitech's commitment to quality and user-centric design. This full-size keyboard, equipped with scissor switches, offers a satisfying typing experience that balances tactile feedback with quiet operation, making it ideal for shared workspaces. The backlit keys are a standout feature, automatically adjusting brightness based on ambient light conditions, which not only enhances usability in various lighting environments but also contributes to battery efficiency. Speaking of battery life, the MX Keys S impresses with its longevity, promising weeks of usage on a single charge, and the inclusion of a USB-C charging port modernizes the device for current tech ecosystems.
Connectivity is another strong suit, with seamless wireless integration via Bluetooth or the included Unifying receiver, facilitating easy switching between up to three devices. This flexibility is a boon for multitasking professionals. The keyboard's build quality is robust, boasting a slim, aesthetically pleasing design that complements any desk setup. However, its premium features come at a premium price, which may deter budget-conscious buyers. Nevertheless, for those willing to invest, the MX Keys S delivers an exceptional blend of comfort, functionality, and durability, solidifying its position as a top-tier keyboard for discerning users.

Logitech's wireless keyboard is easy on the fingers and lightweight. I like the look and feel. The backlit LEDs help out during typing and only require a light touch to switch them on. I also like that I can place the keyboard on my lap during marathon writing sessions and pretty much take the keyboard anywhere. Battery life is outstanding and I have yet to run out of battery life during my sessions.

I have been waiting to get this keyboard for quite a while now, and I finally did it.
Pros:
- Keys are super nice. They have a very good scissor mechanism that feels great and has a good amount of pressure needed to type it. If you have used a 2016-ish Mac, thats more what it feels like.
- The back light is nice as I haven't had one in quiet a while.
- Bluetooth or Bolt Receiver is great. I like the Bolt receiver personally as it can be more reliable.
- Heavy. Weird that this is a pro, but it makes it feel better quality, it won't slide on my mat at all like my other one could.
- USB-C good riddance to all other connector types.
Cons
- This was resolved, but Logitech should have this built in without a 3rd party. Because I have a PC and a Mac, I use this for both of them, and I like to keep the CMD button for the CTRL button for Copy and Paste/New Tab/Etc..
Logitech has a whole settings app, but doesn't include this which seems odd to me. I downloaded PowerToys and I was able to update this mapping.
- You cannot mix and match Unifying Receiver devices and Bolt Receiver devices. Keep this in mind as you'll have to use both (my mouse for one and keyboard for the other)
All in all, this is an amazing keyboard, and I wouldn't hesitate to buy again. You'll love it.

As a PC gamer at heart who likes to use a MacBook to do daily work/general computer usage - this keyboard has been a great bridge between worlds. Having my macbook to the left of my main PC gaming monitor allows me to simply hit a button on the keyboard and switch between the two seamlessly. It may sound like a simple thing, but I promise you - it's a game changer. Toss in the MX Keys Mouse that allows you to do the same and you'll wonder how you ever worked with two computers before.
The keyboard itself is extremely well made and the keys, with their slightly indented/concave tactile feel, make typing a dream. The keyboard is incredibly thing, lasts a really long time on a single charge, and is easily transported between desks (if needed).
I currently have my 3 profiles on the desktop connected to 1) My gaming PC 2) my macbook pro and 3) my iPad pro. The iPad gets the least usage simply because I rarely ever use it like that, but it's available if needed. I would imagine you could also set this up to pair nicely with a gaming console as well for some of the MMORPGs that release on them.
Overall, excellent keyboard that is made even better by it's connectivity to multiple devices. This comes highly recommended by a PC/Mac line straddler.

I've been a user of Logitech product ever since the computer revolution began in the mid 80's. I've abused, spilled liquids, dropped, and worse of all, handed them down to my kids and now, grandkids. When it's time for a new computer, it immediately gets paired with a Logitech keyboard/mouse/trackball, and whatever came with the new pc gets relegated to the junk pile. I don't believe I've ever actually disposed of one of their products - I keep it around, and when someone complains and tells me the keyboard/mouse that came with their pc is junk, I offer them an alternative. For me, their reputation has been impeccable.
That said, I was happy to receive their new Keys device. I've submitted photos, but it really needs to be seen and touched in person to appreciate the quality of the build. They say that the backbone of it is cut from a single piece of metal, and it certainly feels solid to the touch. By doing that, it allows them to create a super thin profile (I've attached a photo side by side with a AAA battery to highlight.)
To me, my favorite feature is the sculpted keys, they have a deep inset that gives you positive feedback as to your finger's spacing; I tend to slide my fingers reaching for the upper keys; I find the design to be very tactile. The keyboard itself is completely silent, if you're a fan of some clickety-clack, then look elsewhere.
The lighting is beautiful, bright, without being obnoxiously so. Combined with the Logitech app, there are various setup features you can use to your personal preference. The proximity sensor for lighting works very well, there's no need to ever turn the unit on/off, it sleeps after 15 minutes and wakes with your hovering hand.
The Keys S can be used with 3 separate devices, your desktop, laptop, pad, or tv. The only downside I see is there's a lack of a slot for storing the dongle for storage/tranport.
My early experience with this unit has been very favorable, and sitting on your desktop the looks are just downright ultra tech business.

I had been considering the MX Keys and saw the Keys S version, which was a bit cheaper and has improved backlighting over the original.
The keys are smooth and have a short press, so if you're used to traditional/longer press it'll take a bit to get accustomed to it.
It charges with USB C and has lasted a couple weeks before getting down to 50% battery with a mix of brightness. I also like that it has a proximity sensor to turn the lighting off after inactivity and back on when you put your hands over the keyboard again.
The keyboard also feels very substantial and well built, despite still being plastic on the exterior. I also like that it can switch between 3 devices with a button press.
The one annoyance I've found is that if you're in a bright room, i.e. under florescent lights in an office, the backlighting will likely turn off completely, which can be fixed by putting tape over the sensor. Otherwise, in a dimmer setting, the lighting seems to work pretty well.

This keyboard is pretty good, but there’s a few major issues that prevent me from giving it a full star rating. First, the good. It’s backlit, easy to type on, feels sturdy, and gives you the ability to connect via Bluetooth or USB receiver. Since I use it interchangeably with my work laptop and personal MacBook connected to an external monitor, I’ve opted for Bluetooth. No problems there. Unfortunately, the volume control buttons do not work with my MacBook at all. It seems minor, but it is frustrating. I realize this may well be an issue on Apple’s end, but I wish I had known before purchasing. The second issue is with the backlit keyboard. There is a handy Logitech app you can install to further customize your keyboard experience. By default, the key lights are set to turn off after 30 seconds of inactivity. In the app, you can adjust this to set them to stay on over 30 minutes. I keep it plugged in most of the time, so prefer to have the lights on for long periods, even if not using it. After some research, I’ve discovered the keyboard totally ignores this setting and will turn off the backlight after 5 minutes of inactivity, regardless. There’s no known workaround and it’s unbelievable the option is even there if it’s never going to work. Other than those 2 issues, it’s great, but I probably wouldn’t have bought if I knew these things beforehand.

I recently upgraded to the Logitech MX Keys S Advanced Full-size Wireless Scissor Keyboard in Black, and I must say, it has exceeded all my expectations.
From the moment I started using it, I was impressed by the premium build quality and sleek design. The low-profile keys with scissor switches provide a typing experience that is both comfortable and responsive. I find myself typing for extended periods without any discomfort or fatigue, thanks to the well-spaced keys and satisfying tactile feedback.
The backlit keys are a fantastic addition, especially for late-night work sessions or dimly lit environments. The adjustable brightness levels allow me to customize the lighting to suit my preferences, enhancing both functionality and aesthetics.
One of the standout features of the MX Keys S is its seamless wireless connectivity. Pairing with my devices was effortless, and I appreciate the ability to switch between multiple devices with the press of a button. Whether I'm typing on my laptop, tablet, or smartphone, the keyboard maintains a reliable connection without any lag or latency.
Another aspect that sets this keyboard apart is its long battery life. With a single charge, I can go weeks without needing to recharge, making it incredibly convenient for use on the go.

The keyboard is very slim, keys are soft to press and very quiet. It has a white backlight (but does not change colors). There is an option to connect with the little hub or bluetooth. There is a green light that lets you know the battery is good. When it turns red, it is time charge it and it charges fast. And the software to customize is pretty nice. There was nothing that confused me, and its simple. I love this.

Comfortable typing meets style. This keyboard has the design to fit right in with my other apple peripherals, and is more comfortable to type on than apple’s magic keyboard. I also required a backlit keyboard, which magic isn’t. USB-C charging on this device also beats out magic’s lightning port, as well as keycaps that allow use with windows machines. It will pair with up to three devices, also. They can be BT or 2.4GHz, via Logitech unifying receiver. This is the wireless keyboard to beat, IMO.
We're thrilled to hear that you're loving the MX Keys S! Thank you for choosing Logitech and for your insightful feedback.

This is an excellent keyboard. For an amateur such as me, typing is painless. The ighted keys are a convenience, but not really necessary. Occasional recharging is needed, about every two weeks in my case. I simply leave the charging cable attached to the keyboard and connect it to the computer as needed. I would prefer a slightly higher angle, but propping it up on the monitor base is acceptable.

I picked this keyboard up to replace a work one (some trash Dell model). I wanted something slim and lightweight for going back and forth to the office. I type a lot of numbers so I needed a full sized for the numpad. I also wanted a keyboard that didn’t need charging too often. The MX Keys S fits pretty much all my criteria. It doesn’t add much weight to my bag for when I need to bring it and my laptop into the office. I get about a week and a half to two weeks per charge. And it’s whisper quiet so no complaints from the coworkers.
There are 2 things that keep this keyboard from being a perfect 5 stars. First, the battery indicator. You only get a light indicator that shows green for 11% to 100% charge and red for 10% and below. It would be nice if there were maybe 4 bars and you got 25, 50, 75, 100. Or different colors in that one indicator to give you a better idea.
The second knock is the major one for me. The escape key is unnecessarily massive. It causes all the function keys to be shifted 75% of a key space over. I have to rename a lot of documents with my work and I am constantly hitting F1 instead of F2. It’s annoying. I’m not sure what the reasoning was for making the escape key so large but it’s a huge annoyance.
