I wanted to try an air fryer since our son said that he really liked his. We have other Ninja products so when this one popped up at Best Buy, I decided to finally get one. I've heard a lot of positive things about air fryers so was excited to do some experimenting and hopefully get some nice crispy fries along the way. The air fryer is capable of handling large meals with it's 6 quart capacity. It comes with two removable pieces: the cooking pot and a shelf to allow for cooking multiple dishes at once. The coil is on the top and the shelf can be placed at multiple heights to allow for different types of cooking...place it on the bottom for crispy foods and the top for steaming. Since we got it we tried cooking sweet potatoes, fries, and warming up pizza. It did a good job with all three of them. The sweet potato cooked pretty quick compared to making it in the oven. When making it in the oven, including preheat time, it takes close to 45-50 minutes. In the air fryer, the total time was around 30-35 minutes. The fries took two tries since the first time they burned when following the time listed in the included book. For the second attempt at fries we reduced the time to about 10 minutes (book said 20 minutes) and they turned out perfect. Lastly, the pizza took about 5 minutes to reheat and it was still crispy. The only reason that I didn't give it a 5 star was that book that came with didn't provide accurate cook times. All of the times listed were much too long and the food either burned or was on the border of being inedible. After some trial and error we started to get the hang of it and found that we can open the top while cooking to see how the food is doing. The fryer stops when the top is open but restarts when you close the lid. Overall, my wife and I like the air fryer and would recommend it with a caveat around needing to validate the cook times provided in the included cooking guide. Good product and I'm sure we will get a lot of use out of it.

I love Ninja. I want people to know that up front. Ninja never fails to blow me away with their innovations. I have a number of their products which I use consistently and find they are great gifts for college students, people downsizing, new homes, well you get the idea. I can say unequivocally that Ninja has not let me down with their Speedi Rapid Cooker and Air Fryer. First, the size takes up the space of my 6 qt. slow cooker and since it can be used as a slow cooker, I'm not losing counter space. It's not that heavy so if I want to put it away when I'm not using it, it would not be a problem. However, since I use my slow cooker frequently, it will have pride of place and my old slow cooker will be put away until I need to use both at once. Second, it is so easy to use. Why? Because, unlike the trend to not include adequate starting instructions and telling people to just go on-line for the manual, Ninja includes a comprehensive owner's guide with easy to follow instructions and images. They also include a Quick Start Guide and recipe book to get you started. Best? It's color coded so it is much easier to know if your smart switch should be set to rapid cooker (steam & crisp, speedi meals, steam, proof, and steam & bake) or air fry (air fry, air broil, slow cook, sear & saute, dehydrate, bake & roast and sous vide) and tells you which functions come under those two categories. The recipes are easy to follow. Also included is a stand-alone guide to building your own speedi meals. Now for those times when you know what ingredients you have but cannot seem to be able to combine them, they have a recipe builder which lets you plug in what you have and they come up with how you can combine it. Third, it also has charts in the back of the recipe book to help you know how to prepare and how long to do things like steam, steam and crisp and air fry various meats and vegetables. It really takes the guess work out of using it and gives the confidence needed to fully utilize this product. As you can imagine, I highly recommend this product and I look forward being creative and developing new recipes.

There is a definite learning curve to using the Speedi. As the owner of several air fryers, crockpots, and a couple of instapots, I was hoping that I could find a all-in-one cooker that could take the place of all the appliances that are sitting on my countertop. The Speedi comes pretty close to getting rid of the crockpots and air fryers, but since it is not a pressure cooker, it’s not quite the all-in-one that I would like to have. Don’t let this detract you, however, as the Speedi is not just a slow cooker and air fryer, it is also a steamer. Ninja states that you can cook an entire meal at the same time in the same pot, combining pastas, grains, or veggies in the bottom section with proteins in the top section. In my real life use, I found this to be mostly true, but learned all too often that the unpredictability of cooking two different types of mediums meant that occasionally I had rice that was not quite fully cooked, or pasta that was either overcooked or undercooked. There is definitely a learning curve to using the Speedi. There are some things that the Speedi does exceptionally well. I placed a 2.5 lb homemade meatloaf on the air fryer attachment at the bottom of the pot, poured in a couple of cups of water, and then set for steam + bake. A meatloaf that would have taken hours to slow cook or bake in the oven was done in less than 30 minutes and came out amazing. I feel like as a slow cooker, the Speedi is amazing. I made sweet and sour meatballs, setting the Speedi at low and allowing it to slow cook on low for 6 hours. It came out absolutely perfect. I’ve tried slow cooking in other instapots before (using their slow cook setting), and for whatever reason, they get too hot too fast and don’t really do a good job slow cooking. The Speedi is a great slow cooker. The Speedi steams vegetables with ease, steams rice and noodles, and the air fryer function works perfectly. I don’t have many complaints about this unit, other than I wish it did pressure cooking too so I could replace the handful of appliances that I have on my countertops. But what the Speedi does, it does extremely well, and I am glad to have it.

We have several Ninja appliances including their pressure cooker and toaster which work great. This is a dual-function steam/rapid cooker and Air Fryer. Very simple to use with very intuitive controls that are obvious the first time using it. The 'Smart Switch' is a lever on the lid that opens and closes the vent on it. This sets the main operating mode: Rapid Cooking or Air Fry. In Air Fry mode the vent on the lid is fully open and in Rapid Cooking, it keeps a small vent so to not build much pressure. Setting this determines which cooking options are available, and then one sets the temperature and timer. When using the air fry mode, food did not splash on the lid so it's very easy to clean. The container and tray are non-stick and dishwasher safe. The tray has two positions: Either at the bottom of the pot for air fry and stovetop cooking or it sits elevated so to accommodate either water or a grain base with meats on the tray. For more cooking options, it also accepts an 8" round baking pan. The cooker is big enough for a meal for one or two. It will require at least two cooking sessions to air fry for a family with kids. One of the functions is Steam & Crisp which is great for sauteed vegetables. One of the first thing we cooked is cauliflower, fist steamed and then stir fried. It came as good as when cooked in the stove. Ninja is a company headquartered in the US with a lot of their engineering and operations based in their Needham, Massachusetts offices. Manufactured in China. Registering this was very easy. We already had an account with Ninja, so just took the QR code with the phone and it was done in less than a minute. It comes with a recipe book and a QR code on the cooker points to additional videos and recipes. Overall it's very convenient. Quicker than cooking on a stove and very easy to clean. My wife and kids have been using it through the week and happy with it. We already replaced the dedicated stir-fryer as this does more.

I have been a Ninja fan for years and was excited to get my hands on this product. The product came securely packed, but there's not much to it-- the 'oven', the cooking pan and the crisper tray. Simple. Comes with a full color quick start guide in proper English with sample meals. For my first use, I chose white rice, broccoli, and chicken breast. Put one cup rice, two cups water and one can of cream of mushroom soup in the bottom, stirred, and laid fresh broccoli florets on top. Then I put in the crisper tray. To elevate the tray, the legs go out to the side and sit on a ledge (see pic). Put seasoned chicken breast on that closed the lid and chose rapid cooker with the smart button. You use the touch button to choose the type of quick cooking (in this case, Speedi Meal) and then set temp and time, using the recipe book or online meal builder. At first, it sent steam out of the top vents, but it did not overheat the room at all, much less heat that using the stove. Then after a while, the air fryer elements came on and it cooked the chicken more. As you can see from the pics, it put a nice brown on the chicken. Once done, I removed the chicken and then the tray with tongs, stirred up the rice and broccoli, coarsely chopped the chicken and stirred it in. Topped with cheddar cheese and closed the lid. The broccoli was slightly over cooked, so next time I would add it later (you can open while in use as it is not a pressure cooker). After serving two people, I closed the lid and this kept the food warm for a long time. I have had air fryers in the past and was disappointed in their single use and large footprint-0- where to store them! The Speedi seems to give me an air fryer that also steams, bakes, can slow cook, sear and more Even Sous Vide! Lol. I am currently living in an RV for the next six months, so the Speedi will be a joy to have since it does not take up all the space and can do several things. I really hate cooking on the stove in an RV as it is so hot! I have room on my counter for both my Ninja Foodi and Speedi, so we should be eating well! Finally, super easy to clean. No need to baking spray or anything. Looking forward to experimenting with the Speedi!

I’ve been using the original Ninja Foodi since it came out and it has easily been my most used appliance. With the new Ninja Speedi, they have made an already excellent appliance that much better. With the added features and the fact now you don’t need a separate lid to steam means this one will get used even more. The new Speedi adds more capacity then my original but in a slightly smaller footprint. And the fact there’s only one lid to keep track of not only makes preparing meals quicker and easier, it also frees up cabinet space. The two tiered cooking system that allows for a whole meal to be cooked at once is ingenious. This along with the ability to steam and air fry at the flip of a switch makes preparing a meal for the family less of a hassle. I use my original Foodi mostly for foods I would normally fry but do make fresh or frozen wings sometimes. The Speedi will now make this process that much easier with the single lid system. The revolution in the Kitchen continues from Ninja and the added functionality from the Speedi would make this thing a bargain even at $100 more. Combine the Speedi with a Ninja Foodi Xl grill and you almost don’t need any other appliances in your kitchen!

The unit size is approximately (edges not perfectly linear to the base): width 14 inches, Length 14.5 inches, Height 13.5 inches. The power cord is about 3 feet long and has a three-prong plug. The main pot goes in any direction and has the graduation/measurement stamped into it. Depending on the cooking function, the grid tray stays halfway or at the bottom of the pot. The functions buttons/dials are straightforward to use. The top has the Air Fry/Stovetop or Rapid cooker setting. After this, the function for the type of cooking is preset with temperature and timing for various cooking methods. My favorite function is the slow cooker to make lamb barbacoa (shredded beef). The Speedi Meal Builder on the website (not an app) provided on the box offers thousands of recipes that can be used with the Ninja Speedi machine. The Builder starts with picking the base (e.g., frozen riced cauliflower, white rice, quinoa, etc.), picking a protein (e.g., hamburger patties, skinless chicken breast, etc.), picking your seasoning (e.g., BBQ, Taco, Fajita, jerk, etc.), pick your vegetables (e.g., green beans, bell peppers, broccoli, canned garbanzo beans, etc.), pick your toppings (e.g., salsa, fresh greens, guacamole, etc.), and then click generate my meal/recipe. The Builder will inform you of the ingredients and quantity needed, the instructions with tips, and you can print or share the recipe. I like cooking, and I love the Speedi Meal Builder for this Ninja cooker. Now cooking is so simple, quick, and delicious.

After 30 days of frequent use, the Ninja Speedi Air Fryer & Rapid Cooker has proven itself as an indispensable addition to my kitchen. Its combination of functionality, efficiency, and user-friendly design justifies its place on any countertop. The primary appeal of this Ninja cooker is the 12-in-1 functionality. It's an all-in-one machine that performs everything from air frying, roasting, baking to dehydrating. Having tested all these functions over the past month, I can attest to the excellent results it consistently delivers. Meals come out evenly cooked, crispy on the outside yet juicy on the inside. The 6-quart capacity is another highlight, comfortably catering to both small and large meals. It's perfect for creating delicious family dinners or prepping meals for the week. The standout feature has to be the 15-minute meals. In today's fast-paced world, having the ability to whip up quick yet healthy meals is a major advantage. Despite the minor downsides, it has quickly become a go-to appliance for a wide range of cooking tasks.

I absolutely love this ninja speedy rapid cooker and air fryer the QuickStart guide and recipe book literally has everything you can think of for an easy option for lunch and dinner and the visuals really help you to understand layering and cooking for the best tasting recipes. You can even build your own speedy meal based on the meat vegetables seasoning and final touches This guide leaves nothing to the imagination I was able to take it out of the box read the first few pages of the start guide and start cooking immediately. The lever on the top for wrap it cook an air fryer actually changes your options on the front facing LED section so you can’t mess it up switch from your two options at the top look at the bottom pick your cooking type change the temperature and time and press start it is that easy really hard to mess up. It’s the same size as the other cooking machines so no issues there the only setback or thing that I don’t like is after steaming once you open the lid water drips everywhere so clean up is a must so that you don’t have any water residue

The reason for the three stars is because of my first use and experience using the Ninja Speedi... The first thing I cooked was the Frittata-Lorraine recipe on page 24 of the included booklet. While making the recipe I noticed it said I needed a NINJA Multi-purpose pan or 8 inch round baking pan. This made me upset as already off the bat I need something that was included with the device! Plus I didn't have a pan that would fit such a small space! So I made the entire recipe and found that I had to come up with my own way of a pan which ended up being tin foil. This made me upset because usually Ninja includes everything that you need but not in this case. Now if you want to make things with eggs like a frittata or if you plan to use this for the baked goods like cake and breads your going to need to go and either purchase Ninjas multi purpose pan or go find your own pan that will be efficient to use in this device. I can't give something more than 4 stars that promises ease and yet my first recipe I had to make up something on my own to be able to use this device. PLUS, I think the product's booklet should discuss about this tray right on the first few pages. I shouldn't have to find out half way through a recipe I need something else. Now it does state I needed a ninja multi purpose tray in the accessories section on the top of the recipe but it makes it sound like it was included. Which it wasn't. Great cooking device and like the concept of the internal included tray that allows you to separate the bottom portion from the top of the pot. This layered system allows you to cook things like pasta, vegetables, or more liquid form substance at the bottom. Then using the tray (popping out the legs) and setting it in the top portion of the pot allows you to cook your proteins like chicken, beef, pork, fish/seafood, and/or vegetables. The system will then almost steam cook your bottom portion of the meal and air fry your top tray with your protein. Really good idea. Air frying is simply a heated element with a fan behind it that blows heat directly onto your food. Its essentially just a counter top convection oven. I feel this is usually a misconception about air fryers. The Ninja Speedi is an excellent example because when you flip up the lid you can see the heating element and fan. The last paragraph leads to talk about cleaning this device. The bottom portion including the pot and tray are super easy to clean just like any other pressure cooker. However, the top half of the device or the lid which contains the air fryer portion seems like it could be a mess to clean in the future. I mean everything is there and it looks like it will be really hard to clean. Perhaps just running a steam cooking cycle though will take care of this? I will have to wait to find out as I use this device more. But I am sure the top will get dirty as when you use the tray on the top section your meats and foods will be right up close to the element so I am sure there will be splashing.

First off just wanna say caught it on sale for 130$ but its for sure worth the retail price. Got this to replace a Ninja that stopped working (air fryer function) due to the roof of the appliance getting “worn”. Surprisingly the pressure cooker function still works on the old one so I kept it soley for that. Now back to this beauty, definetly an upgrade from my last Ninja. Cooks like a champ of course and is just so essential today.

I didn’t realize how big this air fryer is even when I measured it out before purchasing. So, I keep it in my appliance pantry when not using. Pros: it looks very well made , is very sturdy, and is easy to clean. Food glides right off it. It will probably last forever! It includes a basic instruction book with some start off recipes for both frozen & fresh foods Cooks salmon perfectly! Even baked a banana bread in it & made some awesome homemade fries. It cooks things faster than an oven. Cons: it’s a learning curve in figuring out how to use it and how long to cook things. Usually cooks a things sooner or later than times given ( like most cooking) The recipe instruction book is super limited. Does not include recipes or instructions for using all the various cooking options provided on this fryer. . I’d like to use the bake/roast setting for chicken rather than the steam & crisp option, but I have to experiment & figure it out myself since recipe instructions don’t provide cooking instructions for this option. Boneless skinless chicken comes out too dry in the suggested setting. If I could do it over again, I’d take more time to figure out how much I really need in an air fryer. I probably would have gotten a more basic air fryer. I knocked I off 1 star because of lack of recipes & instructions for using all the settings. Not sure I have the time or patients for having to figure it all out by trial & error.

We’ve had a Ninja Foodi multicooker for a few years now and we use it at least a couple of times a week and love it. After seeing the Speedi I knew we had to try it. It’s great for cooking a huge variety of meals and the results for us so far have been great. It’s a bit smaller than our Foodi, but a lot easier to move around and put away. I also like the silver/blue color as well. It's a bit different from the black and chrome of other Ninja appliances and I appreciate that. I do wish the power cord was a bit longer since the manual indicates you’re not supposed to put this directly under cabinets or use extension cords, which makes it tricky for our kitchen. The cooking pot and crisper tray are the only parts of the machine that require cleaning and don’t take up a ton of room in the dishwasher. I do think with this the same as our Foodi that your do have to finesse the recipes a little bit to get them just right, but it’s all pretty intuitive. For me and my wife it more than takes care of both of us and the advertising says it can serve up to 4, which does seem about right for smaller portions. Air frying performance is similar to the Foodi in that it gives everything a nice crispiness, but you won’t mistake it for actual fried food. Overall I’m really happy with the Speedi I think it’s going to replace our Foodi for a lot of our day-to-day meals and it’s just the right size for us.

This arrived securely double boxed with Styrofoam "cradle". It has an inner basket, and included a tray that can be positioned at two heights for different types of cooking. A nice recipe booklet is also included with quite a lot of different recipes for single items as well as full meals. The controls on the front are easy and straightforward to use. There is a main power on button, temp, time, and start/stop buttons. The up and down arrows select cooking type - from "rapid cooker" to "air fry / stovetop". In the middle is the digital display that shows temperature selected, and time. The basket and cooking tray are non-tick and easy to clean. There is a small cup on the side that will collect condensation, and pops out for cleaning. So we wanted to test it out. For our initial test, we followed directions, lightly coated some pork chops with oil and placed on the rack. Set time and temperature and started the fryer. While it was cooking, I did not notice any smoke from the unit which would be evident if frying on stove with oil. When finished, opening the lid showed some nicely browned chops. I will say the bottom was not as browned, but with practice I expect even better results. The cooker is excellent for air frying which uses almost no oil. And has the ability to slow cook, bake, roast, steam, steam / bake, dehydrate, broil, and of course, air fry. Can cook different items all at one time. Handy addition in the kitchen, making preparing meals quick and easy.

It’s fast, doesn’t dry out food, can cook two dishes at a time, doesn’t stick, good depth, easy to clean, keeps the natural flavors of food.

Love the Ninja Speedi! The time-saving in prep and clean up, range of cooking options, healthier meals with delicious flavor are a game changer, esp on weekdays for a working mom. This has expanded our line up of meals since they can be done quickly and easily. Took a little bit to learn to check and adjust cooking time, but since you can open it to check during cook time has made the learning curve fast and pretty seamless.

This thing cooks everything!! In the 3 weeks I've had it, I've made beef jerky, chicken cordon bleu, gumbo, fried Fish, sautéed fish, kolaches, bread, and pasta Alfredo. It is so so versatile!! The size is great for the 2 of us and I can easily see it cooking for 4. Cleanup is a snap. You don't use a spray on it, and honestly, you don't need it. I can't wait to take it in the RV!

This little machine is great. I’ve prepared several meals and it performs perfectly. I’ve done steak, chicken, chops, chicken tenders, okra, potatoes with onions and peppers, and rice with veggies. Had to adjust cooking times because I’m cooking for one. You won’t be disappointed if you buy it!!

So far, all I had time to do is read recipe book, I already have had 4 of these and I love them, they great, so great all my kids now have them and 2 of my neighbors have them too. We do most holiday dinners and my neighbors come over, just to see what else we can cook in them, chicken, roast, pork butt, loins , ribs and last time we cooked steak in 13 minutes and cooked it just right.

Love this product! Purchased for the multiple function capabilities and use it more than I expected. Easy to clean! Other family members purchased one after seeing how good mine works.
