Listen to the negative reviews. I bought this for my son, it might be one of the worst products I have gotten him. If, for some reason, you need an arm that sits there in the same spot and swivels left or right, this MAY work... if it does not constantly sag. However if you need a product that articulates know this.... it can't. If you don't tighten it to lock it in place, then it either sags or you fear breaking it by moving it against the tightened locks. Its super low quality for the price, no question

Hi there, sorry to hear this. It sounds like a set up opportunity and we'd love to help with that. The boom arm should articulate as expected once the mic is attached. The weight of the mic allows the boom to balance automatically and without the mic the arm will continue to sag or spring straight. You can then fine tune the adjustment via the hand tightening at each hinge. These should only need to be tightened lightly. Further articulation/snap control is available via the screw on the base. Check out this video and the boom arm is discussed at about the 1 min mark https://youtu.be/ywR87diubyo?feature=shared&t=60
