I recently purchased the HP Envy 16” Touch-Screen Laptop. With an Intel Core i7, 16GB memory, and NVIDIA RTX 4060, it delivers excellent performance. The 1TB SSD offers ample storage. The design is sleek, but it tends to heat up during intensive tasks. Overall, a great investment for high performance and style.

Purchased this device May 2023. LOVE it. What can I say...good build quality (almost as good as Apple hardware). Touch screen (a little bit too glossy). Upgradable RAM slots, two hard drive connectors...4060 GPU running 90w (which is unique considering this isn't a gaming laptop)... Device is a bit heavy..but it's solid.

This is a fantastic laptop in many ways, but has some fatal flaws. Its like a 5-star for some things and a 1-star for others.
The good: bright, clear touch screen with nicely saturated colors and good contrast. The performance is strong and the cooling system seems to be better than average. Even under heavy loads the performance holds up well. Getting a 4060 in a laptop this thin and professional looking is nice. Speakers are very good, with more bass than many laptops. The aesthetics are good with the all-metal case.
Meh: Keyboard feel and touchpad are decent. Case has a clean look, but would prefer something in a darker grey. That's subjective though and the sliver looks just fine. The laptop is heavy as others have noted. It is a bit of a brick/tank, but considering what it brings to the table, it is acceptable. Battery life is ok under typical workloads.
The deal breakers: The keyboard backlight is atrocious. Under many lighting conditions the white light on sliver keys makes the letters invisible. Turning the backlight off can help, but then the letters are hard to read for a different reason. The screen should tilt backwards 15 more degrees. I have not had a computer which is so tilt-limited. Using on a lap becomes super frustrating because the screen won't go back far enough. Finally, the laptop WILL NOT charge over USB-C unless it is fully powered off (not asleep and not while using). So forget about a single cable to your monitor, and plan on taking the proprietary charging BRICK everywhere you go. Whatever you do, don't forget the included charger or you will just be out of luck (and soon out of battery). This alone is reason enough not to consider this HP Envy. I will be returning.

I've bought this laptop about a month ago for $500 off and it's been great. I wanted something for work and gaming that, crucially, does not look like a gaming laptop--this was precisely it. It handles the internet and a word processor with ease, the key bord is comfortable, and it's got a nice big screen. And it can play a game like Elden Ring with the graphics set to high--though it needs a cooling pad, which isn't surprising.
My only gripes are that the key lables on the keyboard can be hard to see when they aren't lit up and that the fan occasionally turns on when I'm not using the laptop--like, it'll start up in the middle of the night

Great product with satisfactory specifications and hardware! It is useful for my engineering work, research, and some games! It has high performance. The only problem is that it is a little bit heavy! Regarding its specifications like the high-performance CPU, its battery life is good. I like the 120 Hz display and its touch-screen.

Very happy with this laptop.
-Solid metal construction
-RTX 4060 and i7-13XXX series power
-Bang & Olufsen speakers
-Quieter than laptops with similar "guts"
-16" QHD screen bright and crisp
Overall very happy with this laptop. Make sure to update all drivers/security/etc. after you first purchase to get it going! Great purchase

I had previously been using an Omen 16 with almost identical specs but traded it in for the Envy. The Envy beats the Omen by a long shot for my purposes.
I use this laptop mainly for productivity, 3D renderings, CAD, and occasional gaming.
Pros (VS the Omen)
- The keyboard and track pad feel a lot more crisp and responsive
- Aluminum body feels more sturdy than plastic and is easier to keep clean.
- The higher resolution glass touch screen seems more durable, easier to clean, and looks way more crisp. I didn't think I needed a touch screen but find myself using it frequently for scrolling.
- The facial recognition is incredibly convenient. I didn't realize the laptop had it when I bought it so that was a pleasant surprise.
- It doesn't have that "gamer" aesthetic so it looks more professional, which is a pro for me.
- The laptop is thinner overall.
Cons:
- The fan noise under load is louder than the Omen, but if you only game occasionally, it's not a big deal. If you're just doing light work it's not super audible.

Great laptop! So far it does everything I need it to do and way faster than my old HP. The screen is a good size, great image, easy to read. I use it for work, making changes on drawings etc. My old computer was getting very slow when trying to multitask. This one I have had no issues. Price was right also.

The laptop was great and best buy was even better for helping me exchange the laptop.
Laptop quality and performance is excellent.
Laptop battery is rougly 6 hours with heavy use (non gaming) and 8 hours light use.
Laptop can game but is limited to medium setting for good performance.
Laptop cooling is very good and has vapor chamber for cooling.
Laptop does not project heat to the base of the laptop where the keyboard is.
Laptop does heatup where the vents are and that's normal (during gaming)
Laptop does not get warm during light to moderate use.
I had to return my unit as the touchscreen was not working out the box.
The second unit is running with no issues for the past month.

Very sleek looking! A little heavy though, i wouldnt recommend a carry on for a school background. I will use for home use only and I will buy a smaller screen with a less weight to carry to school. Fast machine though and its touch screen which I love. You dont regret. Great for office or home use only, but too heavy to carry to college.

I’ve been using the HP Envy 16” for a few weeks, and it’s been fantastic. The 1TB SSD provides ample storage and quick load times. The natural silver finish is sleek and modern, and the touch-screen is responsive and clear. Overall, a powerful and stylish laptop that delivers great performance.

I use this thing just about everyday. Its a pretty nice laptop but I wish it wasn't silver. So far it seems to do everything I want and even does games. I haven't played anything hardcore yet but it does good on games. I bought it on sale also. I like the touchscreen and the speed seems good.

This is my 3rd HP Envy purchased from Best Buy at 6-7 year intervals. Very reliable laptops and able to handle my PhotoShop, LightRoom, and ProCreate editing programs, my genealogy research programs, tax software, and all my social media with ease and efficiency. The Ultra XGA is fast and sleek and is my first SSD. I love that it is expandable to 32 GB Memory. I think I am set for another 6-7 years!

After being a faithful Lenovo fan for years, I decided to try an HP. Its a 16" Envy. Although, it is a little heavy it has a really crisp color screen and it is very fast. Pretty user friendly too.

You might find other reviews online showing that this is heavy...it is. But its a desktop replacement with a lot of value packed into it so its a fair tradeoff.
In this price range there was one other laptop (think it was an Asus). The problem is the other one looks like an Alienware knockoff and I wanted something that doesn't make me look like I live in my mom's basement. The other problem was the screen. The other one was ok...until you looked at the screen on the HP. It wasn't even close. The crispness and brightness of this screen outperforms everything in this price range. That coupled with identical graphics/processor and a bump up in storage made this a no brainer.
So yes, its a hefty boy that needs a diet. Yes the "speaker grills" next to the keyboard are about as useful as a rear view mirror in a hummer, but the computer as a whole is solid for this price point and better than anything else at this price point if a top end screen, maximum storage, and top notch specs (for this price point) are what you want.

Awesome laptop, good charge, solid capabilities. Able to run Solidworks 2024, MasterCAM, Inventor, and Fusion with no upgrades done to the laptop. Very good for what I needed and at a good price. Would recommend to anyone in need of a CAD design laptop.
