The Must Have Wireless Gaming Headset

As an avid gamer and a user of Logitech and Astro products, I have been eagerly awaiting for the updated release of the new Logitech Astro A50 X LIGHTSPEED Wireless with PLAYSYNC Gaming Headset + Base Station. I'm thrilled to say that it has exceeded my expectations in every way.
Firstly, the design for the most part has stayed the same since the Astros A50 ( Gen 4), but since Logitech acquired The headset is comfortable to wear, with the plush ear cushions and an adjustable headband that ensures a perfect fit. Since the headset is the same dimensions as the previous A 50’s, my A50 mod kit ear cushions work on these as well, which I highly recommend you adding, because they provide a tighter seal for your audio. Logitech have implemented their LIGHTSPEED technology into the headset for low latency wireless connection.
The sound quality is nothing short of outstanding. The A50 X have added Logitech’s PRO-G GRAPHENE audio drivers, which offers groundbreaking clarity and response for precise audio separation, location, and timing accuracy. This allows for immersive audio that makes every gunshot, explosion, and footstep come to life. The 3D spatial audio technology is particularly impressive, allowing me to pinpoint the exact location of my enemies in games like Call of Duty: Warzone, Apex, and Fortnite. The headset also comes with Dolby Atmos, so if you are watching videos or movies that offer DOLBY Atmos, you will get the full 360 degree sound immersion experience. The Microphone has also received a much needed upgrade, with the addition of Logitech's Broadcast-quality mic that has 48 kHz full-bandwidth LIGHTSPEED mic uplink allowing new levels in wireless boom mic quality.
The standout feature of this headset is the connectivity between consoles and PC. An issue that has plagued the video game community for some time now, is for those who have all the major consoles along with a PC, that are having to buy at least one headset for your PS5 and then a headset for your Xbox and PC. Logitech has finally fixed this problem with their updated Base Station with the introduction of PLAYSYNC. With a push of a button on the headset you can switch between your Xbox, PC and PS5. The base station now comes with 3x HDMI 2.1 ports: 2x HDMI 2.1 ports for your consoles, 1x USB-C to USB for your PC and 1x HDMI 2.1 out port that connects to your HDMI eARCH port on your TV. Setup is pretty straight forward in that you connect the Xbox’s 1x USB-C to the USB on your Xbox along with the HDMI from your Xbox to the Base Station and the same for the PS5. Then you connect the USB-C power adapter to an outlet and then the HDMI out port on the Base Station to the dedicated HDMI eARCH 120hz port on your TV. If this is a tad confusing for you Logitech provides detailed steps in the instructions. Logitech also has a step by step walk through video on their Youtube channel showing you what to do, which I highly recommend watching. That being said, depending on what brand TV you have, you might have to change some HDMI settings to allow the eArc passthrough to work and you might have to change some settings on your consoles to get everything to work correctly.
Note: Unfortunately, Logitech does not include an additional HDMI 2.1 cable, so you will have to get another one for the HDMI out port for the base to the TV, and make sure it's a legit HDMI 2.1 cable, so you will get the 120Hz capabilities out of your consoles. A regular HDMI cable will work but you will be losing out on the performance.
Another new feature to the A50 X, is the addition of Bluetooth, where you can now connect your phone to your headset, allowing you to playback audio and take calls through the headset. This has been a great addition in that I can now listen to podcasts through my headset while playing games and control the podcast audio from my phone and the game audio straight from the headset. My only complaint about this is that the Bluetooth chip is located in the base station, so you can’t go too far from that base station before you start having connection issues and it’s only about 20ft. So using the headset just with bluetooth is not an option and I wish they would have put the chip in the headset like they did with their A30’s, so if i'm on the go, I could just bring my headset and leave the dock behind.
Another great addition with Logitech purchasing Astro, is that the A 50 X are now customizable in the Logitech Ghub software. In the Ghub software you can change your EQ and sound levels to your personal preferences. This is a great addition because you can now browse the community presets and see other peoples audio settings for specific games and have those settings auto default when you launch a game. There is also a smart phone app that you can download in the app store called “ Logitech G” where you can customize the audio settings for your PS5 and Xbox in the app via bluetooth.
Overall, the Logitech - Astro A50 X LIGHTSPEED Wireless with PLAYSYNC Gaming Headset + Base Station is the must have headset for those who have more than one console and want a seamless transition between consoles and PC. Along with great audio, a clear microphone, great software and customization, you can not go wrong with picking up what I consider the best overall wireless gaming headset on the market now.

I’ve used several different styles of gaming headsets and the Logitech A50X is among the best I’ve used.
Wireless gaming headphones have revolutionized the way we gamers experience our favorite titles, offering unparalleled freedom of movement and convenience. The A50X sleek and cutting-edge setup provides immersive sound quality that enhances the overall gaming experience, allowing me to fully immerse myself in the virtual worlds I'm exploring.
SETUP
In order to take advantage of the highest levels of audio, you do have to utilize the HDMI ports. There is no HDMI cable included and HDMI 2.1 is what is required for the ultra HD audio resolution. Logitech provides a USB-C to USB-A cable and a combo cable. That’s what I ended up using. The single USB-C cable end plugs into the back of the base station while the two opposite ends (a USB-A and a USB-C) plug into the AC adapter and your computer, respectively. My computer recognized the new device instantly, and I didn’t have any issues using the headset. Even without the HDMI connection, the sound quality is exceptional.
COMFORT
The A50X headphones are extremely comfortable. The ear cushions are covered with fabric so they are completely breathable and I didn’t notice my ears getting overheated at all. I thought the controls were in a manageable spot and that the boom mic reached my mouth easily. The headband was a little stiff, but not what I would consider uncomfortable.
AUDIO QUALITY
The audio quality is superb through these headphones. I primarily played using the PC function and thought that the audio quality was above average for fps games. The mic quality is equally as good as the game audio. My teammates could hear me easily, and communicating with them wasn’t difficult at all.
OTHER THOUGHTS
It’s a little disappointing that there is no noise-canceling option, but the ear cups provide quite a bit of noise isolation on their own. You do have to have the base station in order for the headphones to work, but you can use these headphones with Bluetooth-compatible devices or hardwire them in. I noticed that as long as the base station has power, you can utilize the Bluetooth connection.
SUMMARY
The Astro A50 X Gaming headset is available in white or black and provides a premium listening experience for gamers regardless of their platform. There are a couple of drawbacks, but overall, these headphones provide great functionality for gamers.

The Astro A50X gaming headset delivers an exceptional audio experience, ideal for both gaming enthusiasts and casual users. Its high-quality sound performance, featuring Dolby Audio, provides immersive and crystal-clear audio, enhancing the gaming experience significantly. The headset's wireless functionality is seamless, offering a stable connection with low latency, ensuring uninterrupted gameplay.
Comfort is another strong suit of the A50X, with its plush ear cushions and adjustable headband, making it suitable for long gaming sessions without causing discomfort. The build quality is robust, ensuring durability even with frequent use. The battery life is impressive, lasting up to 15 hours on a single charge, and the included charging dock makes recharging hassle-free.

This allows users to fine-tune audio settings to their preference, giving them an edge in competitive gaming. However, the Astro A50X is on the pricier side, which might be a consideration for budget-conscious gamers.

I have the last gen Astro a50 which I been very happy with thus far. But the Logitech A50x is on another level. I thought the old version sounded good and had good directional sound but man these new versions are way better.the new drivers are higher quality and it shows with the richness and depth that they put out. Vocals are super clear when playing god of war or any other story mode game. And the surround effects are on point. I play a fair amount of Warzone right, and you can now hear even clearer and you can tell where the enemy is coming from. Not perfectly but I was more aware than ever. That is very important if you play first person shooters. That is the difference from getting high kills or not. I was using Dolby atmos which is automatically activated when the headset is fully set up and plugged into the PC. The design is almost identical imo but more refined. The power button is easier to turn off and on. The button to switch input is very tactile and easy to find while wearing the headset. The headstrap is the same and still comfortable for long gaming sessions. Better than others out there. The retractable mic sounds great as well, everyone I played with has told me this. Definitely better than the previous version. Tho I don’t talk all the time it’s a huge selling point for many. The base station might look like a hassle to set up but if you have all of your game systems on one monitor/tv the. You literally set it and forget it. I personally have a higher end monitor and my PS5 is connected to my mini led tv. So I will have to move it from one to the other. Easy enough to do. Not a big deal. You can use this for just a ps5 or just a PC. Logitech just wanted to cover all the bases which I can appreciate. Long story short. If you game you know the A50 is used by many many top gaming streamers and that’s because they really are the best. Now they are definitely goin to be the top choice. You can even use these as Bluetooth headphones too they sound soo good. You get what you pay for. They did go up In price a little bit but I feel it’s warranted. I’m more than happy with them. You will too I’m sure of it. Hope this helps! Oh yea one thing I wish Logitech included was an HDMI. I know we all have extra but some people don’t so that’s an added expense.

I’ve always used ASTROS, when my old pair wore out after years and years of owning them I went to look for a newer pair. I found these. They hit all of my selling points I want to find in a headset, being a gamer across multiple platforms it’s multifunctional so I don’t need a headset for each when I switch. The sound quality is amazing, for all games I play it gives the best quality in a headset I have found (this is my personal opinion). The comfort is a big, big FACTOR for gaming if you do longer hours you don’t want plastic to sweat your ears and head it just doesn’t feel good, the earphones are very comfortable and the headset strap at the top also has a cushion on top so it’s all around quality fit. The battery life far exceeds my old headset for longer uses before charging.
This could be a user error but it doesn’t seem to go as loud as my a40s, I could probably fix this I just don’t know how. Still a 10/10 for me. I’d definitely purchase again.

THE BREAKDOWN:
The Logitech – Astro A50 X LIGHTSPEED wireless gaming headset really delivers the quality and premium experience. I personally have been waiting for the “One to rule them all” headset. It has been frustrating not being able to use my current headset with PC and Xbox.
The fit and finish are remarkable. The earcups are the softest I have seen used to date. My only complaint is the top pad is slightly uncomfortable to me.
The sound is amazing!! These 40mm graphene drivers are excellent the sound produced is clear, precise and just on point! One negative thing for me is there is no noise cancelling. I cannot be fully immersed in a game without hearing surrounding noises, and with teenagers in my house there is a ton of background noise. The amazing sound quality almost drowns out the ambient noise but it is still there.
The docking station is well designed and made. It has almost all the spots you need for all your gaming needs. It has a spot on the back for Xbox, PlayStation and PC. The ports are USB-C input for a PC, 2 HDMI 2.1 inputs with USB-C for gaming consoles and a HDMI 2.1 output. It is easy to switch between sources by using the button on the earcup. This makes it easy to switch between Xbox and PC instead of unpairing and pairing! The headset has magnets and connects to the base very easily.
Another issue that I see is that you must have the base to use the headphones. You cannot just take these headphones with you and use them Bluetooth without the base.
PRO’s:
- Absolutely stunning sound quality
- Solid build and premium design
- The mic is amazing
- Battery life
CON’s:
- No noise cancelling
- Must have the dock to use
SUMMARY:
Overall, this product worked as intended, and I would recommend this to a friend if they were in the market for an item like this.

Finally upgraded from my gen2 A50’s. I use them for Ps5 and PC so the multi platform compatibility is very convenient. The new drivers are less bass heavy and have much clearer highs while still having punchy and booming low end. There is much less clamping pressure on the cups that make it very comfortable for long sessions and great while I’m wearing glasses. I am very happy with my purchase but I do feel for $400 after tax it should have came with its own hdmi 2.1 cable.

First off, I was sent the wrong color, so boo on that. I really wanted to see the white one, but it’s not a huge deal.
Out of the box you get the headset, the base, a USB-C to USB-A cable, a USB-C to USB-A and USB-C, about four different type of power adaptor in case you’re in a different country I guess, and inserts.
You are encouraged to scan the QR code so you can have videos help you set up what is quite a confusing set up process if you want to connect a PC, a PS5, and a XBOX series X/S. In my case, I only have a PC, so setting things up was quite easy…ish.
I used the USB-C to USB-A and USB-c cable to plug into the outlet and the base. Once everything powered on, You turn on the headset, and press the switch button. If you do not do this, your base may be on xbox or ps5 mode, and you will not be able to pair to your pc via Bluetooth. Yes, I learned that the fun way.
One of the more frustrating parts is how reliant the headset is to the base. I thought it would be just a slightly glorified charger, but it’s a tether if you will. If you have your laptop with you and your headset, and you walk away from the base, you will start to experience cut offs in your sound.
A side frustrating note, I downloaded the dolby access app from the Microsoft store, and when I launched it, it asked me if I wanted to try the 7 day trial or pay. The included documentation states that “once connected, Dolby Access will detect your device and activate Dolby Atmos for headphones.” Nope. I uninstalled and reinstalled about three times, and every time, it didn’t detect my headphones and kept asking to me try the trial or pay. A bummer that I couldn’t experience Dolby Atmos.
Once I paired it, I turned on a movie for a quick sense of the sound. About a minute into it, I kept hearing a beep that occurred every 15 seconds, and sound kept cutting off. This lasted for about 3 minutes. This hasn’t happened since, but it was quite unusual.
So far, I feel like I have a buggy headset or something.
The sound is pretty good. I chose a movie that has an awesome audio fx, and I could hear an almost surround sound effect during my test. During my game test, I was able to toggle between voice and game sound. I really like this feature. The volume wheel is easily accessible, so another plus.
The mic is a always there, bendy/flexy thing that offers pretty good sound according to my friends that I had a session with. I do wish I could detach them though.
I think this is one of the few headsets that I’ve reviewed that do not have RGB lighting on it. I feel like RGB is becoming less of a thing these days. I see laptops dropping more and more RGB lighting. Maybe there’s a new trend coming soon? I don’t mind it. I like it when laptops and accessories are a bit more muted and don’t scream “I’m a gamer!”
The headsets themselves feel pretty light compared to others I’ve used. I had a 2 hour gaming session, and it got a little warm after a while, but I didn’t feel like my head was being pushed into my neck. My one little complaint is that on the right side there is a wire there. I don’t understand the point of letting that one wire be the only wire in the whole headset that’s there.
I like the overall industrial design that the AX50 have. With the two metal cylinders that control the height adjustment of the headset, it gives it a more premium feel to it. It’s a good mix of plastic and non-plastic material.
This was a difficult one for me. I do like the design minus one weird design choice, the dolby atmos couldn’t even be accessed unless I decided to pay up, the sound was pretty unstable minutes into its first time use, and it’s almost tethered to the base. I’ve never had Astro headsets before, and at it’s premium price point, it’s difficult for me to confidently say that I would recommend it, but if you have the cash, and don’t mind a few of the negatives that I experienced, then I say go for it.
One of its biggest selling point is to easily switch between a PC/PS5/XBOX with a push of a button. If you only have one of those three, I would say pass, but if you have at least 2/3, then a yay.

On par with Audeze Maxwell’s

1: Lets get a few things out of the way to actually HELP OTHERS with a review: I have a 48 inch LG C1 OLED and yes, they work just fine, no sound issues. Keep in mind you HAVE to use HDMI 2.1 HighSpeed cords both to your display, the base station, and your console. From my understanding, this base station works as a “passthru” so it will make ALL sound play through your headset. I havent messed around with figuring out if you can have the sound come out of the TV and the headset. I know theres a setting for this on the Xbox console itself, but I highly doubt that will have any effect on it. I dont like that, because if I’m gaming, I want others to know, otherwise it’s super quiet in my room, and it just sounds like I’m yelling at nothing. 2: I try to buy the “best of the best” when it comes to tech. I had the Audeze Maxwells before this, but they are HEAVY. So much then when i look down they fall off my head. But theres a great solution to distribute the weight of them, simply google and research “headband cusion for Audeze Maxwell” and youll find what I was using for them. Now, this review isnt for the Maxwell, but I feel like these are a direct competitor to them, especially in terms of Price alone and Mic Quality. The Mic is amazing, but I think the Maxwell’s are better only in terms of the Noise Cancellation and the fact that the ling mic boom that actually holds it shape is very good. The A50 X’s unfortunately do NOT hold their shape very well and it is a HUGE upset. The mic boom on the A50 X’s always goes back to the original position and it makes me nervous when I’m trying to talk low if my coms are actually being picked up in the middle of a gaming match. 3: Another big downfall of the A50 X’s is the top cusion on the headband. Its very minimal and flat. It looks thick but collapses very easily. I wish it were replaceable with an aftermarket solution such as Wicked Cusions, but sadly I may have to come up with my own custom pad to put in there, because it definitely isnt thick enough. Its very flimsy and cheap foam. Other than that, super headset. The buttons on the side of the A50 X’s are almost too easy to press. If I’m laying down with them, my pillow will actuate them and go all the way to game chat without my knowing it, theres no sounds telling me this is happening, so if you’re having a late night chat in a party with friends and all of a sudden they arent replying, it’s probably because you’ve accidentally put the volume all the way over to game chat. Also, actuating the base station from the back of the headset is so easy its almost too easy. What I mean is that its overly sensitive. I’ve gone to the bathroom and came back and when i picked up my A50 X’s, they changed to PC mode, which immediately turns off my TV and it’s an OLED and I dont like turning it off and back on repeatedly. I feel like it could damage the TV when turned off suddenly, because the way it shuts it off is very quickly, it flashes the screen, then powers off fast. I dont like that. So I hope Logitech and Astro read this review and make adjustments on future models. Give us a good mic boom and better overhead cusioning, please!!

To start i love this headset. Its very light, love the ease of use and button functions, easier to use than other headsets i recently owned. I previously bought the new Turtle Brach Stealths wireless, but after use i hated its functionality. Was annoying, especially having to always load the mobile app to get my pre-settings and many times it took long to load.
Saw these online back in Jan 2024, kept my out for them. Unfortunately they sold out on release. I watched YouTube videos amd decided i would buy. Bought on BestBuy because they have exclusivity to the white set. Plus i had a $150 GC to apply as well. These are very light, audio easy to manage from chat to gameplay, fit comfortably, I game long hrs on PUBG and feels great. Can charge using the base or via USB C cable. When watching the videos i was turned off a bit by the setup on the base, but when I received it, setup was easy and straight forward. Love the button allowing to switch between different platforms PS5, PC, etc.. its very expensive and as many have stated, disappointing an HDMI cable wasn't included for the price. I recommend it and already have recommended it to a few of my gamer friends. One of which i plan to buy and gift for her upcoming b'day. The 1 con I noticed is that after syncing my headset for the 1st time via Bluetooth to my phone, I have to manually connect it to my phone whenever I want usage on it. Previous headsets automatically would connect to my phone.
I would recommend this to a friend

If you had Astros in the past you’d find the same features from their product lineup like chat/game mix, Bluetooth, and spatial sound support, with the newer feature being able to switch from console to pc with just the push of a button. Sound quality is improved on the new A50s as I’m being able to hear every minor sound for competitive games like CoD or R6, and when playing story based games with Dolby Atmos these sound just as good. The default sound profile is on the warmer side with higher frequencies reduced, which I like, but if you dislike that sound profile, you can change it through the equalizer on the Logitech G hub app on PC or mobile. Comfort is also good except for the slightly smaller earcups, and I wish the headband was wider because after a few hours of gaming, I noticed pressure building up on top of my head. Something that you should be aware of is to make sure you get a pair of A50s that don’t have a noticeable white noise when nothing is playing because my first pair had so much of it that I swapped them for a new pair, since that noise was kind of hurting my ears. When comparing them to my pair of Sennheisers they actually perform fairly well, with the only downsides being less soundstage and detail retrieval, but their convenience and ease of use makes me recommend them. The downsides are the price for an all plastic headset, its quality still needs to be proved over time, and there’s some issues when using certain monitors or TVs which were hopefully addressed on the latest firmware update.
Thanks for the in-depth review of the Astro A50 X! We're happy you love the familiar features (chat mix, Bluetooth, spatial sound), improved sound quality, and easy console/PC switching. We appreciate you mentioning the EQ options and comfort insights. We're always looking for ways to improve fit and are investigating reported white noise issues.

They're very very expensive, but the excellent audio quality for gaming and fair for music, plus the fact that they never run out of battery, plus the fact that you can connect them to up to 3 devices through cable at the same time while you have then connected to something else via Bluetooth is insanely convenient, and you just swap devices by clicking a button. Very comfortable too. Very good clear sounding mic, the only thing is that picks up a lot of noise from the exterior.
Thank you for your detailed review of the Astro A50 X LIGHTSPEED Wireless Headset. We appreciate you highlighting its premium features, such as the excellent audio quality, long battery life, and versatile connectivity options. We understand your concern about the microphone's noise pickup and will continue to work on improving this aspect in future products.

This headset sounds great but can be complicated to find the optimal settings on console...PS5 for my case....you can set it up with USB C or HDMI but there are downsides to certain games you play using one or the other....the headset itself sounds great and is top notch comfort as long as you setup the height correctly etc. Feels high quality mine came in with no scratches. It is slightly overpriced though but I went for it just in case I ever got a different console along side my PS5, the mic is probably the best too on wireless gaming headsets. It's all about what you want, I'm currently testing the pulse elites as well which sound great..but on certain games I preferred the A50x more and vice versa....all in all you want something that's going to be comfortable on your head and sound good. I recommend if you have the money, you have to pay to play on this one. Lastly it depends on your setup, you need everything close together in one area if you want to switch seamlessly between your consoles or PC...if you have separate setups you probably need to look elsewhere.
Thanks for the detailed review! It sounds like the A50X offers great sound and comfort, but the optimal setup can be tricky on consoles. We'll definitely consider adding clearer instructions for different setups. We appreciate you mentioning the mic quality as well, that's definitely a big factor for gamers.

Wow! I had gen 2 astro a50s that were finally starting to wear out on the cushions, power button and volume wheel. Decided to try this over the steel series because a friend had one and while that is a good headset it doesnt have logitech lightspeed(which i fell in love with on my mouse). The audio is better than that head set and can get louder. Lots of people creating eq’s for this headset to bring the most out of it. If you get a bass eq, your vision will literally get a little blurry from how much this headset thumps. Logitechs ghub makes it easy to find what you are looking for. The battery LiPo battery is replaceable too if it starts to degrade. The LiPo battery makes the headset charge quicker than anything else I have seen. The mic quality is unmatched. This is the new all in one gaming headset king. (P.S. i highly recommend the wicked cushions. They make the headset even more comfortable and lock in the sound. EQ’s specifically tuned for those cushions as well!)
Sounds like a massive upgrade to your audio experience! We're thrilled you love the Astro A50 X's comfort, sound quality, LIGHTSYNC integration, and replaceable battery. Thanks for the EQ and Wicked Cushion tips too!

The build quality is top notch other than price, which is steep, the only knock I can find is it might pinch your head a bit if your head is on the bigger side. Excellent headset. Excellent sound and mic. Would recommend if you have all of the supporting systems.switching from one system to the next is effortless.
I would recommend this to a friend

Packaging and materials feel premium. Nice opening experience with quick and easy initial instructions. Sound quality is superb, rich lows and crisp highs with high level of detail in games. I like to play survival horror games and these are top notch for games like dead space 2, alien isolation and s.t.a.l.k.e.r. 2, comfort is superior and definitely important in a headset like this that will be worn for extended periods of time. 10/10 would buy again.
Note: you will need high quality, high speed hdmi cables for these to work flawlessly, if not using a PC and using multiple consoles. Not a negative but something to consider.
We appreciate you taking the time to share your positive experience with the A50 X! We're glad you're enjoying the premium build quality, comfortable fit, and immersive sound. We'll keep your feedback on HDMI cable quality in mind for future product considerations. Thanks again for your review!

I've had these for a few weeks now. I haven't been gaming on my PC as much recently but I've used the A50xs whenever I need to use it. I got used to these quickly but the look, feel, comfort, sound quality, is all better. You notice it instantly when you switch between an old pair. My a50s are years old but they held up great. I hope the a50xs are the same because they feel so.
4* because they're way too expensive but I had a gift card. I really wanted a headset that could work on my xbox, ps, and PC easily, and I was already used to the Astro series. So I guess it's worth the price in my case. I'm torn on keeping the same design because it's worked great for years, but for $400 there could be something special or better material.
Hey there! Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts on the Astro A50X. We're glad you're enjoying the upgrade in look, feel, comfort, and sound quality! It's always rewarding to hear that our products make a noticeable difference.

I know what you are thinking. Who in their right mind spends $380+ on a headset for a ps5/PC? Before you cross these off your list due to price, I want to tell you firstly: do not let the price scare you for this headset. There are very few headsets out there that ive used that completely and properly immerse yourself into a video game. If you are looking for the holy grail of PS5/Pc headaets for competitive gaming like ranked play, or want to play at a semi professional level eventually, or just want hair raising immersion with video games, look no further. Ive dabbled with orher high end brands like beyerdynamic with their 330 pro headphones ($330 headphones), Audese and their maxwell gaming headaet, previous A40TR owner, ans A50 Gen 4 owner, and these A50X’s are just on another level when it comes preception and awareness. The maxwells, and beyerdynamics sound fantastic, but if you want a pure gaming headset where being able to have a 6th sense with just stupid pinpoint accuracy with your ears, such-as footsets, and spaceal awareness, these cannot be beat. Thats why I prefer these over my other headphones. Ive always loved astro and decided to branch out, only to come back and be absolutely blown away with what their team can engineer. The detail, and realism these headphones provide is insane, and I fully understand why these are worth so more than any other highend gaming headphone, and why the pros use these. Heck, I thought upgrading from the A40Tr to the A50 Gen 4 was nice, the audio difference from the A50 Gen 4 to these A50X is something I truly didnt think could get much better. These things are pure bliss, and I encourage anyone who is even remotely thinking of tryign these to give them a shot, they will blow your socks off and gaming will truly feel like an escape from reality with these headphones. This has probably been one of my favorite purchases of 2025 already.. Also, make sure to buy an HDMI 2.1 for these, you will plug it into the base station and then into your TV. Your PS5 hdmi cable, gets taken out of the TV end, and it goes to the base station as well. So you will have an HDMI in and one out for the base station, plus the red Type C cable that comes with these to powers the base station. These headphones have alot of other cool features like mobile app stuff where you can tune them, and all that, but im absolutely dumbfounded with how good these sound right out of the box.. If youre into realism and are a competitive player, do yourself a favor, and these I can almost guarantee there will be an improvement in your gameplay, just off of having a good quality headset such as these. Buy with confidence!!
Wow, thank you for such an incredibly detailed and enthusiastic review of the Astro A50 X LIGHTSPEED Wireless Headset! We're absolutely thrilled to hear you're so impressed with their immersive audio and competitive edge, especially compared to other high-end headsets. We truly appreciate you sharing your experience and recommending them so highly; it means a lot to our team.
