I purchased this headset in April 2017. They have been an amazing headset up until the point when the bracket that holds the left speaker to the headband broke (an issue that many others have had as I have come to find out). The sound quality was awesome and the mic was very clear.
Just this month, the headband bracket took a dive and made the headset unwearable - BUT Logitech has a 3 year warranty =) After a short discussion with Logitech's support line and emailing a picture of the broken part, they are sending me a free replacement. Logitech's warranty customer service is hands down the BEST that I have ever had to deal with. (Note: the support website was down, so I called in to their tech line, and they took care of it for me from there.)
So All-in-all:
Is it a great headset for the money? Yes.
Is it a bummer that the bracket broke? Yeah.
Do I feel I've wasted my $40? Absolutely Not.
If you have this headset, or are thinking of buying them, just keep an eye on the plastic bracket. Once it starts to show signs of fatigue, contact Logitech Support and get your free replacement =)
These headsets are still available to purchase in-store today. Don't fear the possible (probable) breakage. Logitech stands behind their products.

The Best Gaming Headphones For a Great Price

After my old generic gaming headphones that I purchased at a large retail chain store stopped working properly, I decided to go to Best Buy to take a look at their selection of gaming headsets. The Logitech - G430 headphones had every feature I needed, and more. They are incredibly comfortable, the virtual surround sound makes your games come to life. You can easily locate the source of a sound in a game since you can easily tell if it's in front, behind, or beside you. The microphone is crystal clear to the other players, and the headphones produce sounds that seem to be coming from surround sound speakers. I have owned a number of different headsets, and I can say that these are by far the best ones I've ever owned, and the price is unbelievably low! I'm so glad I decided to purchase the Logitech - G430 headphones from Best Buy!

Very good headset at a very good price point.
It is not perfect, but the imperfections lie more with the firmware/software than with the hardware.
PROS:
- VERY COMFORTABLE the cloth cover of the ear pads felt great. The clamp force is just right. The material on the cups feels great. They are very breathable, they do not feel warm or hot, and they will not make your ears sweat. The foam is okay, other much more expensive headsets have softer foams.
- Very long braided blue cord terminating in 3.5mm jacks (it does come with a USB plug). The cord is thin and very soft, but feels very premium, high quality and strong. In addition, it comes with a Velcro strap that you can use to organize the cord.
- The virtual surround sound delivers on its promise. This will up your game if your system supports Dolby 7.1 or virtual surround sound. I have been playing various games and the positional/directional sound support is so beautiful and immersive. CAVEAT: you need to install the bloated Logitech gaming software + you need to use the included usb sound card for virtual surround sound to work but more on that later
- Noise reduction on the mic is great. Headsets that are more expensive have those bendable mics and stuff - this does not, and I like it that way. It feels very futuristic and sturdy. I recorded myself sitting beside an electric fan and when I listened to the recording, I could not even hear the fan but my voice was very loud and clear. Very happy about this
- comes with 3.5mm analog mic and headset jacks. Perfect for when you just need stereo sound and you cannot be bothered with USB
CONS:
- WILL NOT WORK ON USB 3.0 ports! Believe me; I spent four agonizing hours trying to figure out why my mic would not work properly and why the drivers kept crashing my desktop. Logitech tech support on their official forums was no help. Out of sheer frustration, I finally stumbled on the solution - I decided to try switching my connection from my USB 3.0 port to my USB 2.0 port and made the headset the primary and it suddenly worked perfectly.
- Logitech Gaming Software the only reason to install this is if you absolutely need 7.1 virtual surround sounds.
SUMMARY:
GET THIS HEADSET. It would be a steal at this price if only Logitech would become organized and update the firmware to work with USB 3.0. Other than that, this headset is near perfect.

The Logitech G430 headset is a fantastic choice. Amazing sound, a flexible microphone boom that can be moved out of the way, comfortable to wear, sturdy construction and all while remaining under $100.
The only thing that I don't like is that the headset does not cancel out all other external sound. While this may not matter to some people, those who want the experience of complete immersion, external sound is a problem. That being said external sounds are dampened and muffled quite considerably. You will be hard pressed to find better quality sound output even in much more expensive headsets. The G430 delivers rich 7.1 simulated surround sound, you will hear sounds as if they are in front of you, behind you, to the either side, above you, below you, and any combination. For example you will hear the helicopter coming in from the top right front, cries for help from the front bottom left and a rifle being fired behind you while bullets whiz past your head...ALL AT THE SAME TIME! Of course to experience that sort of sound your media has to provide 7.1 channel sound.
The G430 headset is made of durable plastic, comfortably padded over-ear speakers and headband. The headband itself also has wide metal extenders that provide a beefy sense of quality. One of the best features of the G430 is often overlooked, the wire has the typical rubber coating of any wired headset that can separate due to over extension causing a short in sound reception or delivery through the microphone. Logitech takes durability a step further by sheathing the wire in a woven/braided fabric cover that minimizes if not prevents the stretching of the wire, virtually eliminating the wire short out problem that most other wired headsets have. Speaking of wire the G430 has a very long cord with in-line volume control as well as mute switch for the microphone. Also the G430 can be used either with the dual audio in/out jacks or with the provided USB jack adapter. I prefer the audio jacks so that I have one less peripheral taking up a USB port.
I paid $77.99 plus tax for my Logitech G430 headset which is a stunningly low price for the quality. I've seen and used far inferior headsets that were more expensive and none that are less expensive come close to the quality of the Logitech G430. Also it comes with a limited TWO YEAR warranty, I personally purchased the 2 year comprehensive Geek Squad warranty just for my own peace of mind. Even with the extra warranty my total was less than $100 you just can't beat that.
Would I recommend this product to a friend? All day, everyday. If you're looking for a quality headset that delivers amazing sound for less than $100 you can't go wrong with the Logitech G430. If your budget is between $50 - $100 get the Logitech G430, most wired gaming headsets start at around $50 and go up from there. Why not pay a little more for the G430 and get the sound quality you're looking for? Why pay more and get disappointed?

After using the G430 for a short while now this headset exceeded my expectations for a <$50 headset. I wear glasses so even during lengthy raids the headset remains comfortable. The microphone works well, no issue being heard on TS and Vent along with voice recognition games like Tower 3D Pro. Also love the USB dongle and since I use a Logitech gaming mouse and keyboard their gaming software automatically detected the headset which you can customize the surround sound and tones. The bass is mediocre but I'm not going for rap and R&B tunes while gaming, it does decent with dubstep and EDM style tunes. With the recent sales I had to order another set which will make a great gift.

Are you looking for a headset that provides comfort for up to multiple hours at a time? How about a headset that not only has great sound and voice recognition but helps cancel out all other outside noise and distractions so you can focus when it really matters? I often found myself not able to properly hear my teammates in game, or not being able to easily communicate due to my poor microphone, however, with the Logitech - G430 Over-the-Ear Gaming Headset, I was finally able to step up my game and hear all audio in surround sound as well as communicate clearly and effectively to my teammates with the noise cancelling microphone. I have owned this specific headset since January 2014, and so far is has definitely been one of the better computer peripherals I have purchased.
Advantages:
The Logitech - G430 Over-the-Ear Gaming Headset is made of a sturdy and durable, yet light weight plastic and metal that provides comfort through long use sessions. The padding around the ear phones and the top of the headset is soft and made of a comfortable cloth material that is removable and washable in order to keep your headset nice and clean. The wires are surrounded by a tough mesh material that prevents tangling and tearing, and also has an on-cable volume and microphone control. The sound quality is amazing as it uses Dolby 7.1 surround sound in order to really immerse you in any game setting. The ear cups fit snugly to your head in order to prevent any outside noise from interfering with your audio. These headphones were definitely my saving grace when it came to clear and crisp audio as well as comfort.
Disadvantages:
Like many technology products there are some distinct disadvantages. A disadvantage of this product is that for individuals that wear glasses like myself it does not always fit properly and may sometimes press your glasses down roughly into the bridge of your nose at first. After a few months of use this stopped occurring as the foam ear pads formed to the placement of my glasses. Many other product reviewers have stated how frail and flimsy the plastic material is, however, I have not experienced this in the year and a half that I have owned this product. If you take great care of this headset and do not overly stretch the ear cups the plastic should remain intact.
If you are looking for an affordable headset that is comfortable, durable, and offers great sound and voice quality than this is the product you are looking for. There are very similar products that offer these same exact benefits, however, I find this one to be the best in terms of what you will be spending.

This product has all the basic needs for a good headset; around the ear cushions for hours of comfort, in line volume control, noise canceling mic, and a clear sound. The surround sound works great too. They don't get as loud as other headphones I've had, though adjusting volumes and gains easily fixes that. For the price, great headphones.

Testing them in the store was a very amusing experience, my friend listened to a battle soundtrack and jumped at every bomb and shot, turning around to make sure she wasn't actually under attack. She decided not to get the headphones because she is a generally excited person and didn't need the extra stimuli.
However I thought I knew a person who would enjoy them.
We started last Christmas with a pair of these headphones for my brother, being a very large young man we needed something large, flexible, and high quality. Five stars across the board. My brother (who is over 6 foot and has the large smart noggin of his to match his height) wears these comfortably, the cord is plenty long enough to plug in and leave him plenty of moving room. The head phones block out enough sound that even when he's sitting right in front of the TV while we watch our shows, he can game relatively undisturbed.
After a good, month long trial of the headphones my father decided to join the band wagon. He was very happy with the results, and now has a SECOND headset just for use at his work place.
Over all I am extremely pleased with these headphones and would recommend them to anyone who is looking for a good quality gaming headset.

I didn't want to spend a lot for gaming headset, I am very satisfied with the G430 the Form factor feels as a quality product, the headset is comfortable to wear for extended gaming periods and the surround sound is incredible while playing COD WW2 you can hear direction and locate enemies with ease when needed. The Logitech software is good and offers plenty tweaking options, The only thing, I wish I could get them louder I have the PC (HP OMEN 870-244) and the headphones up all the way its loud but I would like to increase it if I wanted. I have them going through the supplied USB connector.

I thought these were not going to be so good but after just buying them on sale and testing them out, they are good for the price. At first comfort wasn't all there but then the cushion would soften out and I would not feel them on so much. They are light and sound is good. Not so much base but to my taste but it is balanced out with the highs and mids. Mic is noise cancelling so it doesn't pick up any unnecessary noise.
What I am not a huge fan of is the long cable. For me I just need around 2ft but probably others will need more.
Overall good headset for the price, especially if you find them on sale.

Needs Broken In, But Wonderful Product

Pros:
Surround Sound Works - I had to get use to the placement of the sounds because I kept turning my physical head towards it to better hear it. Of course this did not work.
Fits my big head - I have problems with hats and other headsets fitting my head, but these worked fine. Just for reference, I can just barely wear the Playstation Gold headset and even then they sit wrong.
Two Years and going - They are pretty much under constant use, though I am pretty gentle when handling them. Note: The only spot to watch is the swivel portion of the headset. Feels cheap, but haven't had any problems with it.
Mic - Works well with good voice pickup and noise cancelling. Sounds natural. The voice monitoring works well, but once in a great while it cuts out. Nothing a software restart can't fix.
Cons:
Headband - That blue support band took FOREVER to break in. Took around a month, but it felt longer with how much it hurt my head. Mind you, I was wearing it for 5 or more hours on end. Now that it is broken in I love it.
Max Volume - I would recommend not using these with the analog dial set to max. Notch it down a little. This is because of the static the headset makes when Maxed out. Really annoying, but easily fixed.
Neutral: The length of the cord is insanely long. I can see how this might annoy some people.

So I have this headset for about a month now and its pretty good. The surround sound works great when it only has one thing to play like music or just a game, but when you add things together it really starts to fall apart. Lets say you use Teamspeak, Mumble, or Skype to chat with your friends while your playing a game. The audio starts to gets crackly and sounds very distorted. Even if you are listen to music and playing a game it really just doesn't sound good. For the price it is alot better then the H2100's from corsair I know that for sure!

I did not expect this headset to be amazing, as it's very affordable. However, the number of options in adjusting the surround sound are wonderful, it really makes gameplay a whole new experience. I have had no trouble with the mic, unless I love it too far from my mouth. The cord is insanely long, which helps mobility and prevents the dreaded head tug when I forget to take them off when standing up.

I bought these because my G930 headset broke and I needed a quick replacement. Boy am I impressed! The quality and fit are about the same as the G930 (minus the extra weight from the G930s being wireless). But I have a fairly big head (hat size 7.75) and they fit like a charm and fit comfortably for long gaming stretches. I would highly recommend these at the current price point as the sound quality isn't bad at all and they're pretty darn comfy. I would definitely buy them again!

The G430 headset is lightweight, durable, and above all, sounds great! The cord doesn't tangle, there is easy access to the volume and microphone controls, and you can plug the G430 into your PC with either USB or the standard headphone/microphone jacks.
The headset sounds good enough that I often find myself using them as opposed to my speakers and even after having them on my head for extended periods of time, they are still comfortable.
