Brought in a laptop that just went black screen - no idea what was wrong. Bought the 1 year protection plan as I listened to a customer at next counter who was bringing back an item that had been fixed 6 weeks before on a one-time plan - very unhappy customer and for just a bit more I could get a year for 3 devices and multiple fixes. They could not fix the computer, good communication with me on the fix - ended up applying the cost of the protection plan on a new computer.

I got this protection plan for my 13 year old's laptop. After about 9 month the screen stopped working and I brought it to the store to be fixed. After a few days we got a call saying to come get it, once there we realized it was still not working properly. The store manager helped me pick out a new laptop as that model was not available. We ended up with a nicer one in exchange. this protection plan was well worth the money!

I purchased this at the time I purchased a laptop with an HDD drive. I then purchased an SSD drive and the warranty covered all the labor to swap out the hard drives - minus backing up software, which I didn't need because the laptop was new. Love this service with this warranty and recommend it for all the low end laptop purchasers. My laptop was $229, plus the extended warranty plus the SSD drive. Still under $400 and my laptop is now incredibly fast!

Purpose: 24/7 access to expert computer technicians
Equipment: Windows and Mac laptops
Result: After subscribing 6 year ago, would not be without it. Online 24/7 access available. Or, in-store service option also available. I use both. On two separate occasions, my issue required more than 2 hours to resolve. The techs were patient, knowledgeable and professional. AND FIXED MY ISSUE!! Well worth the service fee.

How can you not like Geek Squad, they do it all. Anytime I have had to call them with a question or to fix something on my computer they have done it in no time at all. Always very knowledgeable and very friendly. I have also taken my computer into Best Buy and the Geek Squad was just as efficiently. I was a like skeptical buying the plan but my sister has had such good luck with them I took her advice and am very pleased that I did.

I can do most of my own repairs, fixes and upgrades but it's nice to have the store and geek squad backing. They replaced the screen on my tablet that my daughter dropped under the geek squad plan with no extra cost to me.

So my first laptop my boyfriend got for me but having a 3 year old without a warranty was bad news for me. I was told i might as well throw it away and buy a new one rather than having it fixed. With my warranty I can accidentally drop my laptop and request for a new one with 0$ down!! just easily replaced. If i need some tweaking done with my laptop i can just take it into Best Buy and have the Geek squad fix it for nothing! Literrally worth the amount i paid for the warranty. Like before, better to be safe than sorry

I purchased a new lap top and within a few weeks of purchase, I cracked my screen by closing it it while my memory stick cover was in it. OUCH! Well I wasn't sure Geek Squad would cover it. I wasn't even sure I had purchased extended protection. Luckily the sales person convinced me to purchase it!!!! Thank you guy! I took to Best Buy and they covered the replacement. My only complaint was that it took longer than they said it would and didn't keep me informed of the progress. I had to email and call to request information.

Why art thou reading this review? Why haven't you bought Geek Squad? I always buy higher quality electronics because I need them to be fast and dependable. I'm also incredibly clumsy and technology hates me. I've always gotten my money's worth from Geek Squad. Even if you're super careful and not prone to tech hiccups or accidents can you be sure no one else will accidentally damage your stuff? Nope. So buy Geek Squad.

The Geek Squad provided great service when I had a computer issue. I could not find my files, they said they were there, but I could not see them. I had them dial into my system and fix the problem. So glad I purchased this warranty. It paid off right away and I did not even have to take the computer in to them. Computer was up and running again within an hour and I had acess to all of my files again. Thanks Geek Squad!!!

I love working with the Geek Squad. I really enjoy talking with them and the help I have gotten from them is great because I'm not the greatest fixing problems. They are ready to help you with any questions and, if it's something they need time to handle/run you don't have to sit and wait for them. They complete the process and leave a .message. I will definitely keep my connection with them.

I have purchased the top level Best Buy/ Geek Squad protection/service plan for my last three laptops. I don't typically buy service plans but this plan is worth every penny. Just replacing the battery when it (invariably) stops charging properly makes it worthwhile. I have always been happy with the service from Geek Squad both in store and online. This service plan makes their support very affordable.

I needed help getting my internet security installed because it kept telling me the key I provided was incorrect. I got on the chat with the support team and they were awesome. I was not able to stay with them for the time it would take, but I was able to leave my computer on and they worked on it and sent me a notification when it was complete. When I got home, I was all set. Very efficient process!

I have been buying all my computers for personal and business use from Best Buy for over 15 years and ALWAYS purchase the longest protection plans possible. They ALWAYS pay for themselves and now with Geek Squad being able to access your computer remotely, you don't have to haul the products to the store to be looked at most of the time. Geek Squad is a top reason I buy my computers at Best Buy.

I went into the store to get information on purchasing protection for two laptops I purchased for gifts. The Geek Squad customer service rep was so helpful and informative that it made me feel very comfortable in my selection. So glad I purchased a year of protection. Had to return my grandson's laptop a day or 2 after I purchased..Had several virus and needed some updates. Asked if they could get a game to download that my grandson could not get to download. They were able to get it to download without any problem after the updates were done. It is like having my own IT person when needed for his laptop..

Geek Squad to the Rescue

I was "taken in" by a hijack program which was trying to get me to pay them to fix the "damage" they said was done to my Microsoft software. Basically, the computer was unusable. Rather than spend time on the phone with what I came to understand were the hijackers, I took my laptop to the Geek Squad and within about 20 seconds they showed me how to "fix" the error. Well done, Geek Squad!

I would really recommend the 2 yr Geek Squad Protection and Support to anyone who purchases a computer from Best Buy. It's so handy to have the ability to make an appointment (prior to your arrival - that's new) with a technician to ask questions about your computer and be shown how to operate it. If it's operating slow, they make adjustments. They are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable.

I'm happy in the sense that I don't have to pay for the repairs to my product...im not happy with the fact that the agent I took my computer to told me my Hard drive needed replaced and that they needed to order the new hard drive from HP cua my computer was still under warranty, he then told me that HP required them to send my computer to an out of store repair center so they can replace my new hard drive , a few days later I got a call from geek squad from that repair center and the woman told me that the motherboard that needed replaced on my device wasn't in stock at that moment and she told me they didn't know when or if they could get it back in stock she said it could be weeks or even close to a month but that they would continue to contact the manufacturer about the part ...why is my Motherboard being replaced when i was told it was only my Hard drive ....not two days later I got an email saying my repair was finished and was being shipped back to my store for pick up....why call me and tell me it could be weeks or close to a month...how could you get that part in so suddenly?...they didn't even bother to call me back and tell me the part had become available ....im really upset that it's been a two week process ...it shouldn't take this long , I'm happy with the protection plan itself not happy with the lack of knowledge from the geek squad "professionals"
