I bought headphones a little over six months ago and the cord on one side isn't working right, with no physical damage. I purchased the "2 year protection plan (Geek Squad Protection Plan) even though this comes with a 2 year factory warranty. So, I went to exchange this for another pair, and even though this has a "2 year factory warranty" Geek Squad removed my purchased "2 year protection plan" stating I used it and would need to purchase this again. Keep this in mind when you waste the $29.99 (price given at store location) to buy this plan that would have been covered through the factory warranty. Basically your not purchasing a 2 year protection plan, are you?

AVOID!! Unable to Perform Task & Broke My Computer

I asked them to add an SSD into my XPS 15. They said they could do that and needed 2-3 days. But in fact, it took about one week and then told me that there wasn't room for the new SSD. I had asked them whether my computer has room for a new SSD and they said yes before they took it for repair. It is not the worst. They returned my computer with my trackpad broken, which was totally fine before the repair. They should have told me that they cannot add the SSD to my computer at the beginning and I wouldn't be so mad if they did so. But they said they could and asked me to pay 200 dollars for the Geek Squad member fee.
I give the review after two years because I rarely used my XPS after that. Today I took out this computer once again and realized that I have to warn people that this geek squad is extremely unreliable. I don't expect them to make any compensation now but just hope this review can help people avoid loss from now on.

Works very well and I wasn't expecting it to have a sensor in the middle to scroll pages up and down. I just got it so it's brand new, and so far I haven't ran into any problems. I'd recommend this for work, or just playing video games at home. I personally got this for my 10 year old daughter, and she is very happy with it. It is suitable for Chromebooks, etc. Also quite comfortable, although we need some time to get used to it, because we've had an original mouse for so long. No problems so far, like I said, me and my daughter are very happy with it. Very modern, simple and pretty! Also it is quite expensive, but I got it when there was a clearence, but overall even without the clearence it's excellent quality and very worth it if you want to switch things up a bit! I am satisfied with my purchase.

I ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS purchase the Geek Squad protection when im spending a good chunk of money on electronics! I have had to use the protection a few times over the years and it has always saved me ALOT of money by making sure my purchases are protected! Best Buy is VERY fair and easy to deal with if you ever do need to use this too! I have had protection plans in the past from other business's that are a pain in the neck to deal with once you do have a problem! They will give you the whole run around, make you get ahold of the manufacturer etc etc... Best buy does not work like that at all! They really do cover you question free if you run into a problem over the length of your plan! highly recommend these protection plans as they are priced fairly and even though i have spent hundreds if not thousands of dollars on Geek Squad plans over the years, they have saved me MUCH more money in the long run! I will continue to use Geek Squad in the future for any big purchases we make! thanks for the great service Best Buy!

In the real world electronics break down and need repair. Manufacturers warranty only cover so much. I always purchase Geek Squad Service with every expensive electronic device and I keep buying from Best Buy because of the service. I have not used the service very often, but it is a significant relief to have it when I have had it.
I had an expensive laptop that quit working. They sent it in for service and I got it back with 100% functionality.
Just be aware you need to set up an appointment with Geek Squad before bringing your item it. The appointment system is also a serious positive game changer.
Not all products or services can be accomplished in house and may be sent to Best Buys Service Center and it may take several weeks if they don't have the parts on hand.

I purchased this because I believe IF I ever need their service they would honor the agreement. Primarily because I've had some pretty bad luck with Keyboards and fluids in the past. I've accidentally ruined 3 with my morning coffee. Now that I've got water damage coverage, I've not had any accidental spills. I'm very happy about not ruining another Keyboard. And I'm happy to know if an accident does happen, my keyboard will be replaced.

Not sure what I would do without Geek Squad...we have multiple tablets/computers/laptops in our home - and as you can imagine things go WRONG...Geek Squad is always there to help and they have the patience of saints!!! Highly recommend their services!!!
They have many options for repair/help - and home repair is one of them - so if you are not close to a Best Buy - they are there for you no matter what...

The 2, 3, 4, 5 year Geek Squad Product Replacement ROCKS! This is a game changer. I've more than paid for it's self for all of the items at Best Buy. TV, Stereo...etc. I got a TV that has to go back for warranty work. It's over a $3,000 TV. With out the extended warranty/product replacement we would be out holding the bag. If you buy a big ticket item get it. You won't be sorry. If your never use it then small amount for piece of mind.

I have bought many items for them to work on even though I didn't buy them at Best Buy and they saved me having to get a new computer which was at least $800.00 to replace my computer. Also they are very patient and listen to everything you say and they don't laugh at you if you don't know everything about computers.

This is one of those things you buy hoping you never have to use. But when you do have to use it... oh my goodness are you so glad you did.
Truly zero questions asked (besides the typical “what’s wrong with it” and such) and just gave me store credit to get same item or a different item of my choosing.
I now buy their protection with all of my big purchases knowing that Best Buy has my back.

I have purchased a Geek Squad service plan every year to help me when I have an installation, help with software or hardware problems or if I just don't understand how something works or if I just need general help. I can get help quickly and I have never had a problem that the Geek Squad could not fix. I highly recommend a service plan to help keep any desk top or hand held device. My service plan covers all of my devices.

The Geek Squad team member was professional and checked out the issue my son has with the adapter. The technician provided the requirements to send out the laptop to be fixed, the timeframe it will take, and the estimated amount to pay. With the laptop fixed in the timeframe noted by the technician, my son and I were pleasantly pleased with the condition of his laptop. My son was able to test out the laptop.

One thing I like about my Geek squad is these guys (meaning everyone in the section knows what’s going on). I call them up, and then they transfer me to the tech who has the most experience in the area I need help in and their answers are precise and to the point. If they don’t think that I’m understanding what they are conveying then they offer to make an appointment if I still need help.

This service seems to be well worth it early on. We recently bought a new laptop and used the Geek Squad/Best Buy Totaltech package to get their help to transfer all our data form older equipment. Also to load new software. Very easy. Plus all our issues can be addresses with support for the next 24-month period.

The Geek squad product replacement plan has worked for us perfectly. I buy this plan for my headphones, trackball, computers, TV and washer dryer. I have used my plans coverage to replace headphones and mouse multiple times. I keep buying this plan every time I get my product replaced. I have used it to get my laptop fixed without any extra cost to me.

I had never heard of the Lenovo Yoga71 laptop before going to the Westminster store before 3-27-21. One of the agents, Alex, asked if I needed help; I asked him to give me information regarding that particular laptop. He gave me wonderful details; I came two days later and purchased the laptop. I'm extremely happy with it--so fast!!!!!!

I’ve said it before and I Well say it again make sure you protect your products In the event that something happens. Geek squad has never given me issues from cracked screens to faulty charging ports to even losing my product at the airport. I have not gone back on getting geek squad protection since my first experience with them years ago

this plan is great cuz it fixed my old computers and i was able to switch phones with my son cuz the geek squad were able to do its work. I totally recommand this cuz what i would had paid with the 3 products it paid off the plan i purchase. I totally agree on getting this plan. My old apple laptop is running like a new device.

There was a time I didn't purchase extra protection. My thoughts were, newer things come out and by the time my current device dies, I'd rather have the newer item. Since then I have found many items are no longer made as well as they once were. It's really nice to be able to replace an item that croaks with the same like item.
