J-Cole has what Kendrick Lamar, drake and Wale all pocess right now in today's hip hop culture; a pulse on what today's younger generation is feeling emotionally. Like there predecessors before( jay z , Kanye , outkast and lil Wayne) , Jcole hones in on sociatal issues while that weigh heavy in today modern 24 hour news cycle. All the while still indulging in what post gen x-er's still have issues embracing; wealth and proudness. Either because of the housing collapse that today's culture still have not felt the consequences of, or what it's like to not have a support system , whether it be in home or laws passed by congress that for better or worse help more young Aldults move on to higher education. As Jcole blurs out in "no role models" . " how the f$ck we gonna get rich, if we don't wanna take a risk?". It's something of a question today's youngest generation may want to examine during their schooling and planning for their futures. After all, this is the generation six decades removed from ww2 yet still seeing some of the same rascit tactics being used on our own people. 2014 is a brutal , yet fun way to reflect in an honest approach where society stands today.... 5 stars

I'm titling this review playful, that's the vibe I get from this album. It feels like it was composed in a course of two weeks just so he could produce his 3rd album for Colombia records and be done with his contract. Doesnt seem like something that a lot of thought was put into but none the less it is still a good album. That playfulness vibe I get also tells me that he isn't consider about making these big production albums just to get to platinum status. A tale of 2 citiez no rodel modelz and gomd are good songs.

    J. Cole is one of those artist that has the ability to adapt in a genre that is struggling. He appeals to the younger generation but you can tell that he has clearly learned from classic artists that we have grown up loving. He is telling a story about his life up until current & I can respect him as an artist because of his honesty. He is a breath of fresh air

Not a huge fan of J. Cole but he definitely surprised me with this album, all tracks were excellent. Hiphop community had a very mediocre year regarding albums, but this one came out with no promo, no single, announced 2-4 weeks before release date, and sold more than any other album. It's well deserved! Congrats J. Cole

    J. Cole is a great artist. This album is more introspective and a little slower than Sideline Story and Born Sinner but has great tracks with good messages. Cole is one of the best rappers out right now IMHO and consistently tries to tell a story through each track. Definitely worth the buy.

    J. Cole does it again. With this surprise album, Cole proves that you don't need radio singles or promotion to have loyal fans and great first week sales. The real is back. A different approach than Cole's previous albums but this feels like his most thoughtful work yet. Spend the money

Best album of 2014 hands down. 2014 Forest Hills Drive is not only a musical phenomenon but it is a story of self understanding and the struggle to remain true to yourself in a society where you are taught to hate yourself and are rewarded for actions that go against who you truly are.

    J. Cole has always produced great music, but this one is for every ear. Very easy album to listen to, very easy to listen track to track without skipping any. Even the Note to Self was great. Never let down by his music. Most definitely a must have for every music fan.

Been a big fan of JCole since his mixtape days all the way to 2014 Forest Hills Drive. He is the realist MC in the game always speaks real life situations. Great buy you definitely won't regret wether you are a big Dreamvillian or looking for something new to listen to.

J Cole's latest album comes greatly anticipated after his smash hit Born Sinner. This album has enough heart, soul and wordplay to appease any hip hop fan that gives it a listen. Every song is solid, though Wet Dreamz, Tale of Two Citiez, No Role Modelz and Fire Squad are particularly strong. Fans of J Cole will be happy with more the great stuff they've come to enjoy and I think newcomers to Cole will be impressed with what he brings to the table.

This kid showed growth and depth on this album. He went where most artists' wouldn't dare go, and he should be applauded. This album has a reserved place in my changer in one car, and is a favorite on my iPod in another. If you don't have it, get it.

J Cole took a gamble on this album and left the producing to other producers and I think this allowed him to focus on the content of the music more. It plays from 1-13 every time I listen to it, very good album! Shows a lot growth by him.

    J. Cole doesn't disappoint with this release. I've been a J. Cole fan for a while now & he seems to get better on every single. I like the fact that he actually has something to say, not just making music that is trendy at the moment.

    J. Cole does it again with this one. He is by far, one of the best and real male rappers and producers out. I didn't think that it was possible to top his last album but he continues to show his growth and maturity in his craft.

I consider myself a J.Cole fan so Im very critical of him. His first 2 albums were ehh in my opinion. But Forest Hills Drive is freaking amazing. His best album by far. It stacks up to his earlier mixtapes and guest verses.

I'm a J.Cole fan, but just wasn't able to get into some of the songs on this CD. Overall I've heard nothing but good things about it, so that's why I bought it. I'd still recommend it though, his music is good vibes,

J.Cole is so under rated and he don't get the recognition he needs. This New album is one of his best work and I would definitely recommend this for all. If you haven't got into his music yet this album is a start.
