Incredible clear sound. Best surround sound system I have ever had. Easy set up. Wall mounted center channel under TV and front speakers next to tv. Ceiling mounted rear channel speakers.

The system is relatively easy to set up, once the software update is completed. I spent some time trying to get sources to work, etc., before the update, which is supposed to be automatic, suddenly started loading. The update solved many of the functionality issues with my sources, but not all. Some of the buttons on the remote still don't work, although Bose assured me that future updates would probably take care of this. The wireless bass module and rear speakers give you a lot of versatility and convenience, with much less of a rat's nest of wires. The sound quality is excellent. The SoundTouch feature works well, once one finally figures it out. The documentation supplied with the system is very cursory and uninformative, unlike previous Bose products I have bought. One simply has to figure things out by trial and error, but have patience and you'll be pleased with the results.

If i write like 'the best part of Bose Lifestyle..' will not justify this device. Everything is best of this Bose Lifestyle 650. It needs to shell out some thousand dollars, but it is worth it like bringing an entire movie theater in your house. having 5 HDMI inputs, i was able to setup all my devices (Roku, Chrome cast, Laptop and Set top box. I do not have to run for plug in plug out. I connected my other rooms wireless speakers to this lifestyle and work perfectly. It is like one place controller for entire house. Once I was watching a movie with my friend and she heard a dog barking outside the next house, which she felt very unusual. then i told her actually the dog is barking in the movie and because of jewel surround speaker on your side you felt that dog is barking outside the window. I can hear clear sound and distinguish every instrument when some music is playing over it.

Above all I would like to rate this product on the sound it offers and it is simply put amazing! Why not 5 stars - I had to separately purchase wall mount brackets for all of the speakers and an in-wall wiring kit (BTW in-wall wiring kit had an issue with incorrect wire labels that was a pain to figure out, thanks to support blog posts). At this price one would expect that these would be included. Also, the set up process is not as easy/simple as Bose wants you to believe. I would recommend a professional to help with the installation and configuration in order to achieve best results on the sound.

Have a component home theater system but wanted a wireless system for our new 75-inch Samsung 4k QLED TV (also got at Best Buy). While there is a visceral sound quality to large-cone speakers the sound from the very (and I mean VERY) small Bose speakers is pretty sweet! The "wireless" rear speakers is a bit of an over-promise because they each so need to be plugged into an outlet but no speaker wires running from the unit to the rears (and the sub) is very nice. Overall for what we wanted - very good sound, small speakers, 5.1 system, and no speaker wires we are very pleased. And the Best Buy total tech support for set up and assistance was fantastic!!!

I expected a great deal from this system seeing as it cost $4,000, and my expectations were exceeded. I paired the 650 with my Samsung 65" 800 series TV and will probably never go out to the movies again. The sound is so crisp and clean even at very high volume. I am hearing details on movies that I did not hear in the theater. But I really bought the system to listen to music, and the sound is simply incredible! Set up was easy and I had no problems. I could not be happier with my Bose 650 Home Theater. To me, it was worth every penny and is a quantum leap forward in my home entertainment experience.

It has great sound and the omni directional speakers are very cool. I wanted only one HDMI cable going to my wall mounted TV so I loved the idea of plugging all the other into the BOSE and letting it send the video signal to the TV. Whether this is the cause or not I had to adjust the audio delay several times to sync the sound. Sometimes on power up it does not remember it's last selection on the source so I have to change it. The remote is very heavy and does not have all the buttons I need to control my standard cable box. So it is now it is yet an extra remote. On occasion when I first boot it the video display is very dim and I have to reboot everything. The instructions for the AdaptiQ were lacking and BOSE support was no help. I am single and the AdaptiQ makes you sit in four completely different locations. I don't want the sound perfect for four location but just one. So the AdaptiQ I thought would be so great is not. I have no clue why they don't give battery options for the rear speakers so a power cord does not have to run across the floor. For this sound I would not mind replacing batteries often if that is what it took. The wiring for the corner speakers is old fashioned bare wires. This looks tacky. There is not reason they could not have made them plug in like everything else.

I bought the Bose Lifestyle 650 (white) in May 2017. Recently, I've noticed the bass not working every time I turn my Lifestyle on. I called Bose to get the 3.5 mm Stereo Cable to connect the console to the Acoustimass. This solved the failing-to-connect-wirelessly issue, but there was a new problem of a loud popping sound every time I turned the system off. Bose sent me a new Acoustimass, which doesn’t make the popping anymore. The Lifestyle 650 doesn’t allow adjusting the sound volume of the speakers based on your preference. Instead, they have a terrible ADAPTiQ to automatically adjust the sound volume. This automation is horrible as I couldn’t adjust my speakers properly. I had to throw blankets on my rear speakers and bass to adjust my speakers. Sound quality is very good.

This was an upgrade from my 20-year-old Bose Lifestyle 25 surround system. The unit is beautiful to look at and the sound produced by the small surround speakers is very impressive. A clear upgrade from the 25 is the streaming options...both through wi-fi and Bluetooth. The remote is a little bulky (is actually taller than the speaker cubes!), but not difficult to use. Connections to various media through the console are easy to attach and Bose provides ample HDMI ports. Although the rear speakers can be connected wirelessly, three different Bose techs I talked with suggested wiring them for optimal sound. Plus, the heavy "bricks" needed to connect wirelessly also require two electrical outlets. Note the 650 does not have a CD player or AM/FM tuner, but there are simple ways to add those if you want. To be honest, I do not hear a dramatic improvement is the overall surround sound, compared with my older Lifestyle 25, but I attribute that more toward the overall quality of the Bose products over the years than any perceived problems. The 650 is not cheap, but none of the Bose line of products are. I also am impressed with the Bose customer service techs who have helped me tweak the system over the past few weeks. They are quite patient and have helped me better understand "best practices" for the system. One significant downside to my experience was the terrible service I received from the Best Buy Geek Squad. From my first meeting with them, I experienced misleading promises, missed deadlines and delays. Much, but not all, of that disappoint was offset by the wonderful, excellent work of the Geek Squad installer who dismantled by old 25 and connected the 650. It was a four-hour process and he did a superb job. Too bad my initial experience with this group was so problematic. That said, a month in, I am happy with the performance and love the new system. I just hope the Geek Squad does a serious examination of their practices so the overall Best Buy/Bose experience in the future improves.

This being the central core to my home entertainment system, I didn't want to scrimp. I mean, everything else is piped through this, right? So, I spent the money. At first I was underwhelmed by the sound quality. I thought, "I paid 4K for this?!" Then, I hooked my turntable to it. WOW! It's as though they are sitting in my living room! I realized that my first impression was due to the signal that I get from my cable company. Money well spent.!!!

I had some nice speakers but they were too big for my wife in the living room. Had to find something that sounded comparable yet was unnoticeable. These fit the bill. Definitely very surprising sound with plenty of bass. Easy to set up. Definitely can find better quality sound but not in this size.

For 5.1 surround I can't imagine a better system. Immersive, great effects, great base and greatly enhances your movie and sports viewing experience. I was however, very disappointed when streaming music through the system. All the sound channels through the center speaker which certainly doesn't provide a full, deep sound through the entire room. I'm no programmer but I think something to convert to stereo or 2.1 would be possible to do with a firmware update.
