Several of my devices can use the various types of toslink cables. I hope that I can get the cables in various lengths longer than 6 feet.

This Toshlink cable to mini-Toshlink works great with Google Chromecast. You won't be disappointed. Digital sound quality and connection pairs perfectly with a receiver that has optical inputs. Optical input is superior to analog input because there is no conversion to analog by the Chromecast D/A converter. The Digital signal goes directly in my Pioneer Elite receiver (with higher quality audio components) for conversion to the analog signal before amplification. No degradation in sound quality for maximum fidelity! The result is highest quality sound.
Agreed - this cable is not a named brand cable. But digital is digital. The fiber was optically good enough to transmit the signal to the receiver, and for that reason - functionally - it works. So why pay the high prices? Generic in this case gets the job done.
Agreed - I could afford the more expensive cable if I have a Pioneer Elite receiver. But I guess I was just feeling a little cheap. So long as the cable is functional. I guess with that mentality, that's why I can afford good stuff like that receiver and the other components.
Agreed - I should stop talking at this point. :)
Thanks for reading and hope this review was helpful.

The B&W Sond Bar requires a mini Toslink different than the adapter included when mounted with the included wall bracket. This cable solved the problem

I used this for a Google chrome audio to connect from the oreo cookie looking device, to the digital input of my receiver. It sounds great in this mode, too bad the device was killed off. I haven't had any problems with the cable. the toslink design can be a pain because it's difficult to figure out the x-y-z rotation/orientation of the plug so you know you're putting it in correctly, i was worried about damaging the connector.

I found this cable being sold at Best Buy for chromecast but after some research I found this cable will work with any 3.5mm optical SPDIF ports found on most high end laptops. So I bought it and it works flawlessly with my laptop to audio interface. I couldn't find a 3.5mm optic SPDIF at any local store and only online for $50+. So im thankful my local best buy has this in stock and at a way better price then anywhere else.

My Yamaha receiver only had one 3.5 mm jack which was on the front of the receiver. Plugging my Chromecast Audio in there created an eyesore and a tempting thing for my toddler to yank on. Now I can plug my Chromecast Audio into the back of my receiver and get great audio quality to boot.

I usually buy higher priced name branded cords for all my audio home gear but this works just as well as a Bose or Monster cable for a fraction of the price. I still recommend the good cables for HDMI and other crucial connections like TV to sound system and TV to 4K Blu-Ray player, etc.

The Insignia toslink to mini-toslink cable is a quality cable with good performance and quality. I hear no sound loss, dropouts or the like, and it's a great accessory to have with the Chromecast Audio. Another reliable Insignia product. My only complaint is that it was a little pricy at $15 for a 6' cable. Otherwise, GREAT!

Being that I already have a Chromecast audio down stairs connected with the standard cable it came with. Since using the optical cable I have been using my sound bar in my matter bedroom so much more. Well worth every penny and fast delivery.

Overall a good cable and generally affordable. I bought it to use with my Apple Airport Express, so I can airplay music to my existing speakers. I believe it works with chromecast as well.

I use this cable to connect a MacBook Pro headphone/optical combo jack to a digital analog converter that accepts optical input of the standard kind. So far, it works flawlessly.
